I haven't been posting here much, mostly because I've been having an affair with /ztg/ over on the main site, and also, to be blunt, this thread has been hella slow and... dead as of late. Has anyone noticed the discourse surrounding character ages got ten times worse when SEGA removed the official ages from their website?

You'd think people take that as a hint that it's fair game to interpret the cast younger, older, or even those same specific ages. Instead I've had people imply I'm jacking off to underage characters because I think no 15 year old would act and sound the way Sonic does in Frontiers.

In Archie I liked that Remy is one of the few characters in the know that is straightforward with Knux, so I never really thought about them as anything romantic. The ship could definitely work, but I'd have Knuckles move to Knothole before he discovered Echidnopolis. I'd have him stay there for a few years so he'd be an established hero in his early 20s before they meet

Even Roger was surprised with just how older they wanted Sonic voice to be in Frontiers. He actually sounds in his late 20s to early 30s to me. Honestly there hasn't been a single change some subset of the fandom hasn't gotten absolutely rabid about since 1991. I'm still glad they got rid of the ages though, since it allows kids to think Sonic is only a few years older than them and allows the rest of us to read them as adults

A lot of the early Knuckles stuff was still in the lighthearted humor phase so I can see why they had things the way they were. Considering Knuckles literally chuckles several times in S3&K it would've been nice to see more of his trickster side in his early appearances. Long term I'd have introduced a hidden city of Echidnas, but with less Star Trek/Wars and more of a Atlantis: The Lost Empire vibe

Eggman's too busy to care for romance but if he slowed down or the right woman came around he'd be interested. He's not going to pursue but would instead have to be pursued or at least be in constant contact with a woman to bother.

Honestly the idea of Black Doom being sorta like this Saddler esque Cult leader to the Black Arms race does sound pretty cool even if they are a give mind. Plus it fits with how he's trying to manipulate Shadow to be either his replacement body or to be his disciple to fulfil his whims. Hell, Black Doom already has the whole earth and the Chaos emeralds was promised to us and even gets his horde labelled as terrorists so he's already halfway there.

Also job was Kitchen Hand which isn't exactly the greatest of employment but I'm proud I got it by my own efforts and also I can't be picky when was unemployed for a year.
