After putting it off because 06 drained my soul, I'll be going back through the Sonic games again, and posting my impressions. I'm thinking to do the spinoffs before tackling the next mainline that is Unleashed. And for the first game I have to do next is Sonic Rivals who has this dumb dork in it. Great.... Wish me luck
https://x.com/Thatbirdguy_/status/1800257285484138585 >Goodbye for now, thank you for supporting me and my art. The Sonic Reminiscing artist makes a sudden ominous sounding tweet and everyone is worried what it means.
>>3363 If only! I do like the twist it puts on their usual dynamic >>3365 Aside from the QTEs, Unleashed is pretty fun. While the 360 version is better, the Wii version was pretty good too (provided you use a Gamecube controller). Aside from Lost World 3DS, it's the only 3D Sonic game that Dimps ever made. Rivals 1 & 2 are the only Sonic games I haven't played. I should really look into emulating them
>Eggman turns Amy, Tails, and the Master Emerald into cards >Sonic wants to save the two >Knuckles just wants to save his rock >instead of working together to do both >Knuckles decides to fight Sonic to get his rock Oh boy... It's one of those stories...
So I beat the first zone and the gameplay is weird. It has some staples of the classic games with multiple levels which I kinda like, but it's added with some rivals likes Knuckles to race against, with a boss you then have to beat first before the rival does. It seems kinda fine but I noticed there's four campaigns. Each one where you have to do 12 acts/6 bosses total. I'm getting Sonic Heroes vibes. Said vibes being the repetitiveness of playing all that and getting sick of it.
Oh yeah, HE appeared. Not him again... >>3369 >>3371 Sad to hear. I liked his stuff.
>>3389 Probably for bumblecast money. I know anything of those old continuities are basically not coming back and accepted that. But I gotta say, 900th comic bummed me out, a celebration of the comics which they couldn’t even mention two of them. What got me for real is how there wasn’t even idw characters in it. So I’ll always wonder what was the damn point.
>>3369 I hope he's doing alright and is just taking a break from Twitter (I think a lot of people would be happier if they did that) >>3373 Nice comic! >>3374 Hey, that's the Archie world map! In case anyone's wondering what it'd look like on an actual globe: https://the-ride.neocities.org/archie/ Marvel at how Penders can't into maps. The North Pole's a complete disaster! >>3375 Cute twinks! >>3378 And every night, he will save (you)r life And every night he will be with (youuuu)! >>3379 I thought those expressions looked familiar >>3386 Well that settles it. No FFs for IDW. Not that I mind, I'd be genuinely upset seeing them written in IDW style >>3392 >Probably for bumblecast money 100% this >900th comic bummed me out I wouldn't even have known it was supposed to be a special issue if they hadn't said it in-universe. The one where Sonic and Tails find a chaos emerald in a cave was way better >>3394 So much great tummy stuff from that artist https://inkbunny.net/gallery/Kalk/1/92e7572359 >>3400 Oh anon, Peahen's are the plain birds, Peacocks are the pretty ones!
>>3407 If anyone is curious, the tweet was about an interview with Iizuka where they asked about the freedom fighters and got basically shushed by a worker there who told them Sega was in a partnership with IDW right now.
>>3401 No problem with not minding it, but people were reacting to the tweet as if the interviewer had cursed Iizuka's mom when he bought up the FF subject. I mean whats the problem in "wasting" Sega a few precious minutes with something that a lot of people were interested in knowing ?
Even if it ended as predicted, at least finally someone tried asking this to Iizuka himself and not Ian for the eleventh fucking time.
There's more Shock and Awe out but someone else can post it. Between his use of AI art and deleting comments when called out for tracing over a less popular artist's work without credit I've lost all interest >>3408 They should've been sneaky and asked about the possibility of characters from the cartoons appearing like Sticks or characters from AoStH and SatAM. They messed up specifically asking about the Freedom Fighters >>3418 The ultimate toilet clog! >>3426 Metal. Just let him talk! >>3429 lmao
>>3434 >There's more Shock and Awe out but someone else can post it. Between his use of AI art and deleting comments when called out for tracing over a less popular artist's work without credit I've lost all interest I can eventually do it. I was never interested in the comic.
>>3434 >>3435 I'll admit I wasn't too interested into it. Mostly because they decided to focus on the aspect of Archie I dislike. The politics. And they went even harder on that along with it being grim dark, etc. Disappointed to hear about their behavior.
>>3426 >>3434 Our favorite schizo Tailsfag kept complaining that Ian wrote Metal as a boring jobber, despite the fact that Metal has never been anything else.
>>3434 Nah that would left fans to still speculating with whatever vague answers Iizuka gave back. It was better to get straight to the point and clear this out already.
>>3444 This might sell more than the comics themselves with the way IDW fans only seem to care about the characters and nothing else about the universe.
I was wondering how much of this I should show. I could've just had it so that Surge was seen but I think this much is fine. Again it's about showing enough of a spoiler to generate interest.
Unsurprisingly, I see the pro-FF and anti-FF debate making a comeback on twitter. Gonna be fun seeing random tweets by random people, mostly complaining about other people complaining. >>3450 >>3451 :O
>>3452 I don’t get people who say they wouldn’t fit in a game world when reboot was basically that. But sigh. At this point I can’t care too much about the goings on sonic Twitter aka Hell.
>>3452 >>3453 I liked the FFs, but I don't see much room for them in the modern franchise. Eggman doesn't own 90% of the planet so there's no room for an underground Resistance, and it's not like the modern Sonic games don't have enough good guy characters.
At most you could do a plotline where Sonic saves the Acorn Kingdom from a villain, and have Sally as the leader/representative of the kingdom while Bunnie and Antoine are the Royal Guard or something, but even those would just be little cameos.
>>3457 Yeah I guess. I did point that thing out but I don’t actively clamor and scream like some psychos for them to be in game canon. It’d be kinda neat tho. And besides, seeing how how dogshit even some of the game cast get treated sometimes, not being there is also a blessing.

Now’s a good time to go over the many changes for this arc, mainly what was going on with Sally. I originally planned for Sally to be imprisoned but conscious on Wing Fortress and her power restricted. This was also when Tekno was planned to be a member of the Battle Bird Armada, conflicted about helping the sky pirates and falling for Sally (who would carefully turn her down and only because she was already dating Sonic). Sally would eventually escape on her own. Then the story was revised and she was to be unconscious during the entire thing. Then another revision happened and she somehow escaped. When she finally reappeared, it would be revealed that she was possessed by a mysterious force and drawn to the chaos emeralds. Those that know of the Sword of Acorns and its effect on Sally in the comics would’ve noticed a similarity. But that was scrapped and she just managed to escape when no one was looking.
I'm not saying I lost interest in writing the Sonic comic but I'm enjoying writing the Knuckles comic more now. I expect/hope that Knuckles becomes everyone's favorite character several pages into the next issue. Assuming he isn't already your favorite. And with the Sonic 3 & Knuckles arc coming up in the Sonic comic, there's going to be a lot of Knuckles!
>>3435 >>3436 Honestly, I liked the premise of Silver going back in to save his future and because it's Archie to hopefully see Remington and Elias, but it's just too drawn out. The amount of text on each page is way too much, to the point where it would work better as a visual novel. I was also initially interested in the artstyle since it's what Penders wanted to do for TLSC >The politics Same. It's just supposed to be a dramatic backdrop for the actual story. The politics-heavy issues of Archie were always the least interesting >>3437 My issue with Metal is he's always had an 11/10 design and they just waste it outside of CD and the OVA. He's a twisted metal version of Sonic, with all of his attitude and none of his compassion. Metal should be absolutely terrifying and he's just not >>3442 Sonic has the best and the worst fans. Between the fancomic, fangame, and fananimation scene, we've got some of the most talented people making content that surpasses the official media. Of course we also have the worst fans, like our resident schizo, and others I won't even mention >>3443 Now that Tamers is doing MLP episodes, we've cornered the number one and number two slots! >>3444 >no Rough >no Tumble No buy! >>3451 lmao >>3456 Elise is the ultimate waifu because she combines Sonic's two favorite things: redheads and human women >>3457 Yeah, the reboot FFs would fit in much more easily than the preboot >>3460 Absolutely love how Sally's drawn in this! It'd be cool to have had all that in the issue, but it would've been too many plates to keep spinning >>3464 I'm enjoying both, but I've always been more a fan of the Knuckles stories in Archie, despite them containing some of the worst of Penders' shortcomings. There's just so much lore and plot points we never got to see completed >spoiler He's my second favorite, after my husbando of course!
>>3465 >I'm enjoying both, but I've always been more a fan of the Knuckles stories in Archie, despite them containing some of the worst of Penders' shortcomings. There's just so much lore and plot points we never got to see completed I think Penders got the right personality for Knuckles. Smart, stoic, yet still emotional. I also really like what he did for Angel Island in giving it communities and a supporting cast for Knuckles. The problem is that a lot of it is squandered for the grandpas.
>>3468 That's it exactly. He gave Knuckles an compelling characterization and a unique(ish) world to explore filled with interesting people and places, only to squander it on secret grandpa meetings. Now that I think of it, he was doing the same with the Sonic book, pushing out the FFs in favor of the "adults." Still, credit where credit's due, there's still a lot I like about Penders' work, even if he is a chode
>>3464 > I'm enjoying writing the Knuckles comic more now Oh no guys. I think he’s showing symptoms of penderscitis!!! Next he’ll be throwing Sally off a building! I kid I kid. Admittedly like Thirstposter, I like both but I do look more forward for the knuckles stuff because I like Knuckles >>3468 I pretty much agree. He just squandered the good idea things for grandpas and whatever next big thing. While I mostly like his knuckles, he would just have him just accept any type of bullshit from locke and the grandpas. He isn’t the most smartest guy ever, but it really took until like Ian for Knuckles to start questioning their shit
>>3460 >Tekno was planned to be a member of the Battle Bird Armada, conflicted about helping the sky pirates and falling for Sally That would've been an interesting take. Hopefully you'll at least have a couple of gags of dudes & women trying smooth talk Sally & Elias for the yuks. >>3465 Yeah, to give the moron his due, he did some interesting ideas. The execution sucked however.
>>3481 Mmm... tough question. You could either get a full deconstruction of the Sonic series that examines the archetypes of each character and the world around them. Or you could get a lighthearted adventure played completely straight since Moore also has written that when making pastiches of other properties
Turtle Power Page 160 https://www.deviantart.com/okida/art/Turtle-Power-Page-160-1063377623 And now for more of the comic that still has Sonic in it. And now Super Sonic!
Shock and Awe Issue 2 Page 141-142 https://www.deviantart.com/underworldcircle The good thing about taking so long to post this is that there's two pages to post now!
>>3496 Unfortunately they're not used because the dumb lackey duo spot is forever filled by Orbot and Cubot. Imagine if those two robots were gone and Rough and Tumble were always with Eggman doing his dirty work for him.
>>3498 Yeah, Rough and Tumble would be way better. They could actually fight Sonic in addition to annoying Eggman in funny ways. It's also a bit hard to believe that Eggman would bother to program his helper robots with that much personality, anyway.
>>3499 When was the last time they showed up? Was the issue with Clutch recruiting Surge and Kit the last time? Are they still working for Clutch? I honestly can't remember.
>>3495 Having XY chromosomes basically doomed them to be irrelevant and massively unloved in IDW. And not being part of high power level shit that self inserters only care for with boy characters. Poor guys
>>3500 Yeah, I think it was when Surge beat them up, so they should still be working for Clutch. I don't blame you for forgetting, this whole arc was boring even before it got interrupted for the Fang shit.
>>3501 It's like the Chaotix. They're the most well-written of the game characters in IDW, but they never get any screentime since they aren't melodramatic ship-fodder.
I think I hate IDW Sonic more than any other comic I've ever read. It's like every shitty tendency of modern writers is in IDW, but is turned up to eleven -- the massive casts of underdeveloped characters, the spotlight-hogging creators' pets, the decompression and slow pacing, the supposedly "badass" characters being worthless jobbers, the focus on relationship drama over adventure, and the utter creative bankruptcy of everyone involved. I have no idea why anyone would like IDW Sonic except for the art. Archie was better, Fleetway was better, and even Okida's Sonic the Continuation is better.
>chaos control hasn't updated in forever >shadow and jolt hasn't started that series yet >pandora au hasn't updated in forever >sapphires of reality alternate hasn't updated in forever https://x.com/sthsora/status/1770090331628798084 Although this is kind of hot ngl fr fr no cap bussin' >cosmic nexus (the one where it's shadow, rouge, and a bunch of sexy mobian oc's running gun) is updating slowly >sea3on hasn't updated in two years >tails gets trolled hasn't updated since may but i don't remember when i stopped keeping up with updates >sonic now has been updating, might need to give that its own thread and dump everything in it And the other stuff has updates that have been posted by either Thirstposter or me.
>>3471 >Next he’ll be throwing Sally off a building! Only if he's wearing a hyper-realistic Snively mask first! >>3474 >Yeah, to give the moron his due, he did some interesting ideas. The execution sucked however. That actually worked in his favor since back in the day most readers wouldn't be able to catch every issue so the assumption was all the cool payoffs were either going to happen next month or happened in an issue you didn't read. Of course reading the entire series as a whole you quickly realize he just drops interesting plots and settings to set up even more things that wil never get a payoff >>3476 https://x.com/andoraliix/status/1800551409706062308 >>3483 My money's on deconstruction >>3484 Previous page: >>2664 Well, now everything's fucked! >>3485 That first panel's 100% AI art >>3486 Remember when Robotnik gave those two robot arms? Good times >>3488 Awww! >>3492 Can you even call yourself a Sonic fan if you aren't? >>3495 >two of IDW's most forgotten characters It's not fair ;_; >>3498 If they filled those roles they'd pretty much be Sleet and Dingo, not that I'd mind! I just don't get why they can't be comic relief villains that somehow punch well above their weight. Fun fact: they've got the best win-loss ratio of any IDW villain >>3499 >It's also a bit hard to believe that Eggman would bother to program his helper robots with that much personality, anyway. They basically exist so Eggman has someone to yell at and explain his plots to. It also helps that they're harmless so neither Sonic nor Eggman will kill them >>3501 IDW OCs just get discarded unless they're boring and inoffensive (the gay birds) or a writer's pet (the crying lesbians). I'm obviously biased, but I think most readers would prefer to read about Rough and Tumble causing trouble than forest fire PSAs >>3502 >spoiler I agree completely. It's just not fun to read when I've seen so many other Sonic stories where the characters actually do get to have fun adventures. Even lewd Sonic comics have had more interesting plots, engaging drama and (non-lewd) action than IDW. It just feels like any other licensed comic shat out as a small part of a large corporation's brand strategy > I have no idea why anyone would like IDW Sonic except for the art I suspect a lot of people on social media like the comic in the sense that they like talking about and making art of the ships, but they probably don't actually read the thing >>3504 Yeah, I check these every so often (in addition the the roughly 70 comics I have in my RSS feeder) and it's such a shame. Still, a few of these have had large breaks before so I'm still hopeful >Although this is kind of hot ngl fr fr no cap bussin' Nice! >>3505 They've taken a longer break before so fingers crossed they'll come back to it

>>3485 >>3486 I havent given it a full read yet, but is it that bad ? From the little I read it looked like a grimdark attempt on the Archie verse but with a more down to earth take on warfare and life in a Mobius ravaged by it. And honestly that didnt sound like a bad idea on paper.
>>3590 I'm not a fan of the writing. The dialogue is the biggest problem I have with it. Awkward, too wordy, and the characters feel off. And as the other anon said, there's a lot of focus on politics but its got nothing on the military stuff. If you're a /k/ enthusiast then that comic is for you.
>>3519 Even non-super forms have defeated him, but he always comes back. It also doesn't help that the author's mapped out decades worth of story that we're probably never going to see in comic form
>>3486 Shock and Awe Issue 2 Page 143 These sure are coming out fast. Maybe we'll get the end of this issue before the end of the year. And then only 20 or so more!

Renfield T. Rodent is as shady as they come. And then there’s the Marxio Brothers. Don’t let their dopey, comedic appearance fool you. They’re just as trustworthy as Renfield. And here’s Charmy, the teenage bee member of the Chaotix!
So cute! >>3610 I was not expecting the Marxio Bros to show up. I like the stylized background characters, it's always interesting to see how artists tackle those
>>3613 Reading from right to left: >Don't jump on me while I'm flying! Is it really Super Sonic if he doesn't have cool eyeshadow? >>3615 When I think about it, it's extremely weird how we got almost no Mario parodies in the comics or cartoons. We got a TMNT cameo in Archie, but absolutely no plumber jokes

I found these criticism comments on your comic about stuff that could still be affecting it, and I kind of see what they mean by it. I remember myself too, making some observations about the CD arc and other things back way back. saying that because I know some schizo might say none of us will or have criticize anything ever. I definitely agree on the shard thing—way too soon. Like how I describe it, its pulling a ian with setting up a ton of stuff like that. I can see why the others might say some of that wouldn't have had the best use, even if you know about those things, and it seems like there are some problems with even needing the prerequisite knowledge. I'll give you a bit of defense by saying in cointext/IRL it's another reboot, so I can maybe understand that thing about setting up things the way you do. To be positive, I reread the recent main stuff and actually liked it more than the previous. Part of that is probably the setting up stuff being reined in and more focus on the story. Maybe the most I'll dislike so far is the pacing, perhaps hoping Bunnie and Antoine don't get way sided as this is a team book, and explaining little things like how Speedy knew about Ai Sally's voice in comments, etc. Also, I think the setting of things in the Knuckles book is okay, at least so far, and can be reined in soon. I think it's good to look far back along with any criticism to improve your comics to the best they can be. sorry for the long post lmao.
>>3632 I never understood the "too soon" thing. It's like the "why is this character here" or "why are they different from the thing they came from" complaints. I've seen a lot of people come in with expectations based on the original comics and get confused or even angry when it's different from that. Almost everything that has been introduced is set up for future storylines and that's too lessen the load in the future. If anything, having prior knowledge works against some people because they think and expect stuff instead of just going for the ride. People not knowing seem to be more accepting and understanding. The comic provides all the information they need and there's nothing conflicting what they remember from the original content. At most they question where a character came from out of curiosity.
For something like Speedy recognizing AI Sally's voice, comics tend to add in boxes explaining stuff like that or it'll be explained by the writer somewhere else like a letters page. That note in the comments was mainly added for those that question how he would know because there have been times he could've come across AI Sally on the ship. But it wasn't shown so someone would wonder how and when. Showing every interaction in a comic is tedious. Even the best writers aren't going to bother with that and will just assume the reader won't make a big fuss about it. But if they do, there's a note explaining it.
Antoine and Bunnie have limited use because there's only so much they can do every story. People complained about Sonic and Sally interacting too much and I had to tell people to wait for the Sonic 2 story arc for Sonic and Tails. And Sally was mostly not shown since she was captured. Bunnie got a little bit of focus in the first issue and Antoine gets to shine in a near future arc. In the Archie comics, a lot of Freedom Fighters just don't appear or do anything for several issues. I think having Antoine and Bunnie there helping out while not having much impact on the plot is better than not having them there at all.
Pacing issue? Sure. I can see that being something I can improve on. But I have weird restrictions I placed on myself and expectations on how each page is read, both on its own and all at once. I favor each page being more standalone and that means I can't have stuff like a big single panel for a reveal or drawing out a conversation or fight longer. Because then the next page won't come out for a week and it'll drag out the story.
Thanks for the response. I understand your mindset better now. Hope I didn't come across as too mean. It's just that some critical examination every once in a while is good for discussion to be healthy with like bringing up those people's thoughts and mine to think about. And it's for the best interest instead of anything of malice to seeing stuff like your comic improve.
>>3593 The internet has ruined that word for me >>3608 Sprayed by water isn't bad, it could be worse like getting hydrated by water tentacles... >>3610 Hey it's renfield, and the Marxio bros! I've always adored them and their designs. >free loader charmy Okay I smirked. >>3613 >>3614 Gay but cute
New STC-O is out. I swear two of those stories I've already seen before looks like they're going wtih those leaked plans I saw. lol this continuation is so fucking shit.
>>3629 Finally worked out why my RSS reader hasn't been picking up this comic: The new pages are only going in the issue two folder, not the regular TAOSTH folder >>3630 lmao >>3632 Fair point about the pacing, while I like it, I do think it isn't what most comic readers are expecting. Since it's modeled after Archie, we're kind of expecting 12 issues a year of around 20 pages each. Considering we get two pages a week spread across two books that's only around 5 issues a year, and because they come out weekly, each page has to stand on its own. ASO and others handles this very differently, waiting months (or years!) until they have an issue finished and then releasing it all at once
My reading of the pacing is it's trying to keep things fast enough to cover a 2-4 issue arc in each issue. If you look at the story beats of the Knuckles comic it more or less adapts the 3 issue Knuckles miniseries. The Konductor can confirm, but I think it's also a reaction to Penders' slow pacing. Imagine having to wait an entire week for a new page of the Knuckles miniseries only to find out it's another page of Red Sonic walking through a tomb talking to himself
>sorry for the long post lmao, have you even seen my post lengths?
>>3634 >that means I can't have stuff like a big single panel for a reveal or drawing out a conversation or fight longer I'm sure you'll make an exception and devote an entire issue to my wedding with Remington though! I kid, I kid >>3637 >The internet has ruined that word for me Same
>I'm sure you'll make an exception and devote an entire issue to my wedding with Remington though! I kid, I kid I have figured out when and how I'm going to introduce Remington but it won't be for quite a while.
>>3645 Good news everyone, my STCO scraping code still works! Latest issue is in the mega, along with the Sonic Fanfest comic we never got around to storytiming. >>3648 >>3649 I found it, was on their tumblr. Look at it if you want to. So it's basically a former writer's plans for the comic for the others to look at. But I just don't think it's that good... Like a reboot of the comic near the end like that?! What are they thinking. Mediocre retooling isn't going to save this shit continuation.
>>3646 >My reading of the pacing is it's trying to keep things fast enough to cover a 2-4 issue arc in each issue. If you look at the story beats of the Knuckles comic it more or less adapts the 3 issue Knuckles miniseries. The Konductor can confirm, but I think it's also a reaction to Penders' slow pacing. Imagine having to wait an entire week for a new page of the Knuckles miniseries only to find out it's another page of Red Sonic walking through a tomb talking to himself That is the reason I haven't done any flashbacks and have instead resorted to putting in hints here and there. Just like with introducing characters that will be used later, it's to lighten the load when things are expanded on.
Ever just have a Sonic content creator you know, like some of their work, and then stumble/learn upon their nsfw account that changes the way you see them? This happened to me the other day, but this sort of things applies to anything. I learned about what the dev of the big catch indie game that looked neat to me, are into and yikes.
>>3657 Just read through the docs and it's some interesting stuff. Fundamentally disagree with never revealing what happened to Knuckles' people. I get that they want to have a Robotnik to fight but it'd be better if they split them into two separate beings so Sonic doesn't lose his father figure again >>3670 Wise words King Acorn, wise words! >>3671 I think that's the right choice, especially considering how many comics get stuck in flashback land for so long you forget what the main plot was all about. I also like the idea of leaving hints instead of spelling everything out. It makes it much more engaging for the reader when they're not spoonfed everything >>3672 That's some fantastic work anon!
>>3678 It's so cool! I like that Eggman just decided if he couldn't make it as fast as Sonic, he'd just make it huge >>3686 lmao this Silver probably has two dads as well >>3688 I'm kinda numb to it considering all the archiving I've done of Sonic artists we've covered. I try not to judge, although a few made me a little sad. One that stuck with me was an artist that did this really cute, hopeful and energetic comic that just stopped updating when he went to college. I found his Twitter and it turns out he pursued a career in marketing and the only artistic thing he does is put together promotional materials and talk about marketing. I've actually found several socials of artists that disappeared, but I never include this information on the website since it's clear they've moved on. Another one that got to me was SonicEffect, who did that comic with those great expressions (https://the-ride.neocities.org/threads/138099105). He's still doing art, but it's all hyper muscle and weight gain porn now ;_; >>3690 When I say Rouge is just girl Sonic I didn't mean like that! >>3694 Wow! >>3704 I couldn't find anything with a regular search but if you've got more info I can probably dig up something
Website news: We just passed two million visitors! I'm sure a lot of them are bots, but I do see massive spikes whenever it's mentioned on 4chan. We're also on the first page of Google and Bing if you search for Sonic storytime, Sonic fancomic archive or Sonic fancomic collection. In other news, with plus4chan handling images differently I'll have to update my archiving scripts (they're very brittle so even minor changes here will cause them to fall over). I'll try to tackle that soon. I'm also planning on moving to non-neocities hosting so I can have more flexibility (and store all the thread images) >>3724 Another for the collection!
>>3797 >Congrats! Thanks! >Elon Musk could check for you. lmao. He may have a lot of dumb takes, but I will concede he's right about the Internet being absolutely overrun with bots
With Peach and Zelda getting their own games, people on XXX starring Vin Diesel are saying Sega should make an Amy game. The problem is that this is Sega we're talking about. Now, if people want another Yakuza spin off then I'm sure Sega can throw money at another one of those.
>>3809 Fuck Amy. Give me a Knuckles and Tails game where they can truly build a relationship that isn't just about Sonic. A game where they act where they beat all the bad guys and get bitches!!!!
I've realized something about Tails' love life, in Spider-Man terms, Cosmo is his Gwen Stacy. The same in not being a first big love & dying, and because they were both boring as fuck characters I think for Tails, best girl for him is like a MJ, basically a girl more lively, carefree, adventurous. Someone like The Captain
>>3811 I feel like those two are lower on the list when it comes to getting their own game. Shadow getting more attention has been long overdue because of his popularity. Amy would be the most likely to get her own spin off game. Even a Sonic and Amy game would break the internet. Shippers would tear themselves apart and then wake up to realize it was a dream because Sega hates them. >>3825 Of course Rouge would be the Black Cat. MJ was that party girl that mellowed out and fell for the nerdy boy. While not perfect, I feel that Fiona could be that.
>>3827 >MJ was that party girl that mellowed out and fell for the nerdy boy. While not perfect, I feel that Fiona could be that. I suppose so. Mellowed out Fiona is something i'm reminded that chauvels liked to toy with in her art.
>>3833 I can see Regina causing so much confusion & seeth. And utter disbelief. >Hope: Okay, cut the act. No way you're in love with....him. >Iron Queen: It's no mere act, child. My sweet little Snivley-kins has touched me in ways no has! >Hope: That sounds disgusting.
>>3833 >>3836 Good end for Snively would've been him staying with Hope and working for GUN and managing to get Regina to be released into their custody. Team Dark would be a force to be reckoned with.
>>3839 Snivley would just have to not fall to his tendency to betray people buuuut, I wouldn't mind Colin & Regina doing what they can to turn over a new leaf.
>>3811 I would love, those two rarely interact on their and it feels so wrong given how they are goddamn pillars on this franchise and part of the same group. It's like how in certain shows friends with talk with the MC but rarely with each other without him
>>3825 True, the best part of the Tails/Cosmo romance is the tragedy angle, but is not that entertaining without it. Tails works best with someone he has enough contrasting differences but also shares certain qualities.
>>3861 I don't consider it a spoiler since it's something you'd find in a "first look" piece for a character, so I'll briefly say she's a soldier that's very serious and not used to the kind of person Knuckles is.
Sonic and the Freedom Fighters Issue 6 Page 13 https://mobiuscomics.com
Sonic’s got a plane to catch! But he’s already on a plane! And that unexpected development of Sonic absorbing a chaos emerald is pretty convenient. Now he doesn’t have to lug it around or have to leave it behind.
>>3869 Amy was setup to fail, she has a nigh-impossible goal that's also huge aspect of her character so it's unlikely that's ever going anyhwere. Take that away you start to run into problems. Thing is there could be ways to flesh her out and give her more outside of Sonic but even then, that's not gonna erase something that used to be so prominent about her.
>>3808 It gives me a bench Tails-tier sense of dread >>3811 Oh man, that'd be fantastic! I'd love to see them hang out, since Knuckles could teach Tails about archeology and how to fight, and Tails could teach Knuckles about modern technology and how to use it to set up defenses for the master emerald. Actually, a tower defense game where Tails and Knuckles have to defend the ME would be a lot of fun >>3825 Not a Spider-Man expert, but Bean would make a good Deadpool (the wacky mercenary who has an unrequited crush on Spider-Man) and Knuckles would make a good Captain America (the buff older hero Spider-Man idolizes and may have a slight crush on) >>3831 I can fix him! By making him worse! >>3833 Shame we never got to see them interact, they've actually got a lot in common, being ostracized by/separated from their people and good with tech >>3841 >>3844 The term I coined for it was the Sonichdel test (based on the Bechdel test), which requires at least two characters that aren't Sonic or Eggman talk to each other about something other than Sonic or Eggman. I went into a little more detail here: >>1602
>>3867 >Now he doesn’t have to lug it around or have to leave it behind. And to think, Metal's stuck having to carry them like a chump! >>3850 Manic! >>3851 Silver looks cute in a ponytail >>3853 Love Knuckles and Amy's group costume >>3854 lmao, those outfits! Sonic's actually looks stylish, but Shadow looks like Josie and the Pussycat's angry manager >>3858 Oh my, I think I just got soul-touched! >>3863 Nice! Having a more energetic version of the track would've been awesome, especially since the game could seamlessly blend between the two any time a battle happened >>3868 It's a suppository!
Quick random rant but i was reminded of the source of all in Archie and how weird it was to make it piss yellow. Not that it would really fix it's story problems, but i'm of the opinion that it should've looked like a liquid version of the night sky. Makes more sense and would look more cooler.
Sonic the Continuation Issue 22 Page 14 https://www.deviantart.com/okida/art/S-T-C-Issue-22-Page-14-1065851668 So that's the secret to Tails' success with women!
>>3878 Julie-Su's such a lucky lady! >>3881 Yeah, that'd be way cooler. I'd have it look different to different characters. Max could see it as a magic piss pool (since he's all about crowns and royalty), Elias would see it as black tar (since he wants nothing to do with it), and Sally would see it as cold silver (since it represents the cold sterile duty imposed on her) >>3887 I'm surprised Rouge and Cosmo aren't fighting over him >>3889 Nothing says fun like mandatory corporate-enforced fun! >>3891 That word filter always cracks me up >>3897 Fun fact: that's the comment I DM every artist that won't draw grippers! >>3898 Must be pretty cold on that beach Also, I thought she was a deer not a camel, hew hew >>3900 >sonic artist Huh. The degree of specialization of fetishes is honestly fascinating >big catch dev Well, at least their fetish is IDWkun approved!
>>3002 Amy's Family Chapter 2 Page 42 END https://www.deviantart.com/princessgalaxia9 See, it's not just me that wants their own 93! Oh, and it looks like there'll be a hiatus between now and the next chapter
https://kenpenders.com/the-eagle-has-landed/ >>After all the time, effort, blood, sweat & tears, the complete shipment of THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS has arrived. The complete order arrived at the company owned by my next door neighbor, who graciously offered to store 200 cartons of books while I prepare for shipping the pre-ordered copies and take my show on the road to comic conventions.
>>3904 HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE PENDERS SINCE THE CANCELLATION BEGAN. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF REMINGTON ART PRINTED IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY BASEMENT. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT. FOR PENDERS. HATE. HATE.
>I already have someone working on inserting the pages in the digital file for KEN PENDERS’ KNUCKLES OMNIBUS Vol. 1.
>>3898 >In an attempt to raise Morale, the Egg Legion holds it's first Summer Cookout & Bathing suit contest >The Entrants are Lien-Da, Thunderbolt, Clove, Metamorphia, Thunderbolt, Nephtys, Wendy, Katella, Abyss & The Iron Queen >This accomplishes a few things: >Clove gains a crush on Lien-Da to Clove's horror. >Nephtys and Wendy have tight MILF bodies. >The use of words "Skank, Bitch & Slut" went up 276% >Eggman knew this was also another trap set up by Wendy, MM, T-Bolt & Katella to show him their very lewd bikinis >Beauregard Rabbot is a grilling master. >Akhult threw singles to Lien-Da when she was on stage. The ass beating was worth it, he said >The winner was.....Abyss. Regina or Lien-Da had it but they got caught up in the brawl between the would be lovers of Eggman, DQ'ing all 6. >Conquering Storm refused to take part due her idea of beauty is strength!.......and these BITCHES aren't on her level anyway.
>>3906 I really hope Sega Lara-Sues him >>3907 >Regina in a bikini Oh my! >>3912 lmao While it'd be true for Modern Sonic and Eggman (although Knuckles and Rouge would be a better pick), Boom Sonic's slightly too tall. The heights are pretty inconsistent in the show, but Amy and Sticks are the optimal height
That recent thread has pointed out that there is just a weird sect of Sonic fans who hate the idea of other non game media just....existing or having existed just cause of some dumb worship of SOJ who is arguably the most inept/incompetent branch of the Sonic franchise still around....though this is also nothing new
>>3932 Who is actually going to buy these? They're just reprints, right? >>3935 I mean not to say there's a sect of fans who hate game media for existing. Humans will always be like that one way or another, just hatin. But I wouldn't get too worked up over that sort of stuff on the internet too much
>>3938 oh lol i'm not, I'm mostly just vibing in the thread since this is just blasé to me at this point and funny to see people chimp out over it and interesting to see the actual civil people in thread amongst it
>>3932 >He won Alright, you've goaded me into doing a deep dive of this. Penders is being deliberately vague on how many of these he's actually purchased, but looking at the boxes' labels, there's 200 of them with 10 comics each, meaning Penders has TWO THOUSAND (2,000) of these to sell, with pre-orders not yet hitting the 200 mark.
You'll notice that the comics were shipped to the warehouse of Penders' neighbor, not a distribution company. These comics were printed cheaply in China by a company that approached Penders at a convention. Now we could split hairs on whether this is self-publishing or vanity publishing, but either way the company is not fronting the cost of printing, Penders himself (or more accurately his wife) is.
The retail price is $35.99, meaning the gross profit is $71,980. Let's be generous and say the printing/shipping/etc cost is half the retail price, and that he's sold 200 already. That would mean Penders has spent $35,990 of his own (read: his wife's) money on this venture, and will need to sell 800 more just to break even. He's also planning on selling 300 of them at the next convention, but assuming that happens he'd still be 500 short. The good news is his wife's book club have all purchased a copy so he's on his way!
TLDR: Penders is at least $36k in the hole for this venture. Forget Sega, he should be way more worried about what his wife will do to him once she realizes she'll need to share a house with over 1,500 copies of TLSC!
My inner faggot wanted to make some comments about Penders' choice of interior decor, so be thankful I'm holding back!
>>3931 lmao >>3934 He honestly needs to lose some weight. This isn't even me being catty, at that age his heart won't have the strength to pump blood around all that extra mass for much longer and I want him to live long enough to publish more garbage for me to laugh at >>3936 Absolute kino! He really is a fantastic artist >>3937 >will he fail catastrophically? By my estimates, it'd take a miracle to break even >>3938 >Who is actually going to buy these? Other than Penders' wife's book club? He's hoping to sell them at cons and online. Of course all the hardcore Archie fans hate his guts so he'll need to find an entirely new audience. Personally, I'll be buying a copy second hand, so he never receives any money from me >They're just reprints, right? There's a new final page, some data files, and a preview comic that's under 20 pages so it's >90% reprint
Let's do a few comics from my favorite andromorph Sonic artist's SFW account! It's time for some domestic fun with Shadow, his boyfriend, and his evil dad!
After 10,000 years, I've decided to storytime another lewd comic. Wait, don't leave yet! This one's heterosexual! >>>/pco/470523 >>4022 I know right? I hope we get some more of this AU
https://x.com/sonicstadium/status/1804078177490235700 >SEGA has revealed that a 2024 edition of Sonic Central currently is not on the cards, with no official showcase stream taking place in June and no further news to announce regarding a future episode.
>Sonic brand social media and community manager Katie Chrzanowski made a brief statement about the lack of a Sonic Central during an impromptu 'Sonic Official' livestream set up to celebrate Sonic's upcoming 33rd birthday.
>"I see a lot of people asking about Sonic Central... just because there's not one happening today - and I will say there's not one happening this month - doesn't mean that there's never going to be one again," Chrzanowski said. "We don't have news on when a Sonic Central is going to be, but we have not forgotten about them.
>"So don't worry, keep checking the official channels for any news on a future Sonic Central."
>The news is a bit of a blow to fans hoping to see a formal showcase during the summer months - since 2021, SEGA has made a habit of running a Sonic Central annually between late May to mid-June - and it would have been great to have something to follow-up on the community hype surrounding Sonic X Shadow Generations' recent news and reveals. But perhaps, besides the game, the Sonic brand doesn't have a lot to share right now that could justify an extended showcase production.
>>3609 Sonic Desolation 3-36 (end of issue 3) https://sonicdesolation.tumblr.com Aww, they're all sleeping!
From the artist: >Hi everybody! Now that issue 3 is done, I have to put this comic on a hiatus while I write issue 4! Hopefully it’ll be brief. I should’ve done this ahead of time, but I didn’t 😂 Bear with me! Thanks a bunch!
I totally forgot I needed to finish Rivals until I scrolled up. I swear I'll beat the game soon, guys. I know you love seeing me suffer for your entertainment
>>3943 I may have mentioned this before but I unfortunately have to occasionally think about characters that I'm not 100% sure has exposed feet while wearing their footwear. Because blob feet makes it hard to tell. Big the Cat, Tikal, and Gold are part of that. I suppose I'll figure that out when I get to them.
>>3907 >Clove gains a crush on Lien-Da to Clove's horror Are you the anon who talked in the ride threads about Lien Da bossing Clove around ? Cause I did like that idea a lot.
