There are no sonic related mods for the stalker games from my knowledge (or at least from searching sonic in the stalker games moddb pages), closest you can possibly get are probably Meme mods that adds sonic as model/texture replacement for another entity (and looks as you would expect).

At the very least the Engine made for stalker mods is open source (along with sourceports too), so the possibility to make it as such is possible.

I thought Whisper's initial concept as a mysterious hyper-competent loner was really cool, and I liked that Silver had a crush on her. It's only when her personality turned out to be bland and creepily co-dependent on Tangle did my disappointment start to set in.

Sadly true. It's an issue the franchise lowkey has always had but it rears it's ugly head in instances, especially in the egregious case like Forces. All those superpowered and supposedly capable characters but become shit the moment sonic goes away.

Sonic being the one characters look up to and the effort to always make him appear the coolest as possible is a massive detriment. Doesn't help either characters always gotta be thinking or just talking about sonic 24/7. I get he's the main character and all but jeez, it doesn't have to be that bad you know. Makes you wonder how the world functioned before him.

They used clips of Sonic and Shadow battling from Prime when Sonic's talking about his adventures with Shadow. As the resident canon autist, Prime's as canon as AoStH and SatAM were when they were airing. They don't affect the games' plot (barring minor references like Sonic eating chili dogs), but Sega is never going to say "don't bother spending money on this Sonic content, it's not important." There's a reason they say "everything is canon," and it's to placate every faction in this very fractured fandom and milk them for all they've got! It's also why Ian really shouldn't be telling fans what is and isn't canon on his podcast. Even if he's correct in his assumptions, it just risks alienating people

Hilariously they aren't even consistent with this, since Sonic was going to be eaten by aliens just like the rest of his friends in StH, with Shadow saving the day. They had taken out Sonic, Tails, Omega and Shadow in Forces, and stuck Knuckles in a job he's not suited for instead of putting him on the front line where he could've made a difference.
How I'd have written it: I'd have had Amy run the Resistance, Knuckles and Silver on the front line keeping up morale by winning smaller battles, and had Rouge and the Chaotix out looking for the chaos emeralds.
Once the emeralds are collected, I'd have Knuckles and Silver trash a large amount of Eggman's forces and almost defeat Infinite, knocking an unconscious Shadow out of his digital prison. Of course Infinite would've pulled some Phantom Ruby bs causing the emeralds to scatter and forcing them to temporarily retreat, since they'd be weakened by the forceful de-supering, and needing to rescue Shadow.
Sonic would then be rescued by the rookie while Eggman and Infinite are distracted, and the game would go on as normal since Sonic would know going super wouldn't work on Infinite. Tails would still have his plot about being the older brother to Classic Sonic, regaining his confidence and repairing Omega towards the end of the story.
The main changes would be that the Chaotix would be responsible for getting intel that's actually relevant, and Shadow would have a few playable levels with Rouge on support where they track down and fight Infinite, only for him to get away at the end.
Throughout the levels we'd occasionally see Knuckles or Silver in the background, winning their own battles (e.g., Knuckles taking down a Death Egg robot in Park Avenue and Silver shielding a bunch of civilians from debris in Capital City)

It's a real shame since it would be easy to write an engaging story where almost any of the game characters saved the day in Sonic's absence. Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow have all had games where they saved the day without Sonic so it's not like they're incapable of writing this sort of thing

Not too bad. On the commander Knuckles thing, I have no idea why that's a thing they added to him. I get he has some warrior autism (even though in battle it made him look like a rageful dumbass). But Knuckles being a strategic commander? Ehhhhh, Frontiers continuing that made me dislike it more. Operation Big Wave quite frankly made him look like a retard and the others for agreeing to something he made in a minute and a half.

The prospect of other characters than Sonic looking to go super is kinda cool. Male Hedgehog exclusivity on that has always been bullshit. on the phantom ruby thing, I kinda forgot it could repel the emeralds and even the ME. But from what I can remember, that was only shown in Mania, so in forces, no one even attempted to use any emerald like at all to know.

That's because it was originally a shiny blue pebble called the Valtron before they decided to synergize with Mania and have them be the same thing. I like the idea that Tails initially couldn't work out what Infinite was doing, but they really needed to do a rewrite to tidy up the plot inconsistencies. Having them be illusions that can hurt you was fine, but they should've had the characters overcome them, making Infinite powerless and weak

Yeah, it's definitely a Pachacamac-approved retelling of the events. We know Knuckles was left behind as the rest went off to fight the Owls, and they were fighting because the Echidna wanted to use the power of the emerald while the Owls to prevent its use.
I agree that the broad strokes of his fight with Iblis were accurate, but the exact motivations between Knuckles and Iblis might be off. I actually like Iblis being the source of Knuckles' fire-based punches, even if it does mess with the lore a heap. I'm guessing Silver won't be making an appearance anytime soon
I also think it's interesting that Wade was able to tap into Echidna warrior abilities. We also saw Robotnik tap into chaos powers with the master emerald, which was confirmed to be possible for game!Eggman in the Sonic Channel art where he goes super. Not sure where they're going with all of this, but it is interesting

Yeah, his pacing's always been way too slow. Reading it the first time as an uncritical kid you can sort of overlook it since it promises the answers to all the mysteries are right about to be solved, and no matter how boring it gets it still has Knuckles as the main focus.

I think the events are accurate, but the motivations mentioned are based on Pachacamac's biases. As for Knuckles' power. There's his regular Echidna warrior power that comes from his heart (that Wade was able to tap into) and there's the flames of disaster, which only Knuckles has. I do like seeing humans have superpowers, since it'd be odd if only anthros had them

Came to a realization Sonic isn't my favorite as he used to be and starting to just dislike him specifically the main one for upcoming reasons. Like i understand his deal, muh freedom, muh adventure, muh static character used to help other people grow, gotta go fast. I get it and liked him enough but man has it started to wane with realizing the consistent negative impact he has around other characters resulting in stuff like the useless cheerleaders who can't seem to shut up about him.
Sad thing it will just keep repeating despite the empty promises they say they'll be improved in the games. That alone just turns me off from the character and liking his villain more despite being the same type of static character type because he's more entertaining than him. Idk frontiers was kinda of the killing blow for me in feeling this way along with forces and prime's implications. Also I realize my post kinda sounds like something our special friend would say but I can assure I'm not a nutcase

Was never about that, other characters are only allowed to do the bare minimum in order to say Sonic "inspired" them to do it with his infinite power and wisdom and Sonic could do it way better and Sonic is the coolest and bladibladibla
Frontiers just cut out the middleman and had Sonic "inspire" the shitty friends without the shitty friends doing anything that would steal Sonic's spotlight. It's enough that they just say to the audience that the mascot is the bestest and everyone irl should keep buying his toys and shitty games
