Sonouge is an interesting pairing, since they're pretty much an opposite sex mirror of one another (competent, live by their own morals disregarding society's rules, highly emotionally intelligent, enjoy flirting with Knuckles and human women, are the only living people Shadow actually respects). I could certainly see them as FWB but I'm not sure what a relationship between them would look like.

Yeah, there's a lot of interest in Shadow now, but I'd really love to see a more unique take on Black Doom than generic evil floaty guy with the voice of the villain from Inspector Gadget. I still think there's a lot more that could be done with the Black Comet being Black Doom's true body, and Black Doom being the champion of his planet's Dark Gaia equivalent. We saw in Unleashed what happens when a Light Gaia's champion prevails (planet gets reformed, everything's back to normal), but if Dark Gaia had a champion that won, I could see the planet exploding completely, with that champion merging with a chunk of the planet that became a black comet as their reward

Another idea would be fun is contrasting the parental dynamics since Longclaw would be like "ayo, this gal's kinda dope" where as with Max he's "I'll literally bury you alive with my barehands you defiant rat" though I've kinda complicated the family on Sally's end cause of a stray idea thought would be interesting of Nigel and Max being separate characters that might not of been the best idea in hindsight but to developed to change. Sidewinder is a major fave of mine now since he used his past work as an economics professor/business man to organise it effectively and that his teleporting gimmick was essentially a guarantee that his team would stay out of jail both pragmatically keeping their loyalty and just being in their interests. The fact he also genuinely mourns Death Adder and also treats his employee's as friends plus rewards specifically when warranted but also isn't a pushover and gives warranted punishment makes him feel legit in a way that Viper/Dixon sems delibrately to fall short of and turn the direction of the group in failed directions to his sleazy benefit above theirs. I like King Cobra for different reasons in that he's fallen up in the chain and gotten over his head and acts like a threatening snake, plus can be impressive with his genuinely good powerset/fighting style but ultimately just falls short to his hubris.

To be fair another part of it is that Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3 really made me love bastard villains that also read as abusive parents in a metaphorical and literal sense, they are extremely entertaining in how nasty they can be or just being easy to hate villains in a compelling fashion. Black Doom does work great as a sort of third factor that throws the setting into disarray for a bit and lets other characters take focus, like how I have things planned his arrival causes Sonic to take a massive backseat and do the space adventures stuff from Archie but tweaked so everyone is in a worse place emotionally but also stand on their own a bit. That idea of it cutting of from hivemind and leaving him with a sort of horrific silence/solitude of his own thoughts is an interesting idea to how he can be afraid of it beyond just being something as alien to him as he is alien to Mobius/earth/Sonic's world lol lmao.

funnily enough was giving him a sort of faction in the Hood Horde in my au since he's kind of my scrimblo at this point and have to many ideas for him, like he's aware of his limitations compared to guys like Naugus, Eggman and Finitevus or how heroes like Shadow, Bunnie or Omega would fold him but has enough tenacity and limited fighting capability to be a surprising threat with his main focus being on controlling certain regions of personal interest then the whole world mainly out of petty seethe cause of how he was treated in his youth working for monarchies and bigotry towards reptiles like him. well this isn't the actual canon Intellegencia since it's one I've considered for a specific story based on villains who've not been on the team and I like for one of the earliest classic Marvel runs I ever read solely cause of my love of Godzilla.. The official one consists of The Leader, MODOK, Red Ghost, Mad Thinker, Wizard and Klaw. Though they debuted in 2009 Hulk stuff as a group generally creating powerful mutates through a process mixing Gamma Rays and Cosmic Rays plus generally being a collective think group for evil schemes/research, my introduction to them was when Doctor Octopus and the Sinister Six teamed up to kill them temporarily solely cause Otto was seething they didn't consider him worthy of joining which bruised his intellectually focused ego.

Yeah, that one where his deadbeat dad was also a planet was really good, but then Kurt Russel's always fun. I'm still not sure what to think of the tossed in space arc from Archie. On one hand, it was good to see Sonic out of his element (and without backup), and those bounty hunter designs by J Axer were 10/10 (I'm still mad we never got to see them again), but on the other I spent a lot of the arc just impatiently waiting for him to get back home to Sally. Maybe if it hadn't happened just as he and Sally were about to get together it wouldn't have been as disruptive.
Now that I think of it, Doom being cut off from the hive mind would probably be the worst torture he could ever experience

Ah I was mentioning High Evolutionary but Ego's also a great villain in terms of douchebag dad, oddly Thanos is also an oddly compelling character on top of being a super shit father figure which is a consistent theme in Guardians of the Galaxy in the MCU. DC fans do oddly seem to have an ironically Marvel civilian mindset with the cast and characters as Aquaman can attest despite being great. To be fair my take on the space arc would probably be a lot shorter, might implement familiar space stuff from other continuities/games and is more so to take him out of the picture so Shadow can get focus since I thought having Black Doom be why he's in space ups the stakes/lets others take focus but also lets me bullshit an explanation why he has the Frontiers sword he has in my design before actually getting to Frontiers stuff, though with how I've done AU Shadow's backstory will be a real bitch to figure and difficult to not make super convoluted. Next month will be time to put hyperfixation train back on AU a bit.

A shorter space arc would've worked, or one where he was able to occasionally videocall Mobius. I just didn't like the whole, everyone thinks I'm dead and I've got to get back home thing. Adding the game aliens is a good idea, and one you can tell Flynn was itching to do in the preboot. Honestly, a huge part of the fun of AUs is getting to shuffle things around, even if it can make things a little messy

Though I'll say the X-men bring the hate on themselves to be honest, especially with how smarmy and myopic they act with other heroes. Yeah the Zeti/Wisps in the space arc would've been good if it got done years later and you could actually flesh them out somewhat. One idea i'm sitting on is Black Knight being in the past and probably including ancestors of the cast that fit in the setting/changing the Knights of the Round Table to be more homages to who they're based on in the games then just same character in armour. Merlina will probably also be a snoot cause I like when artists make Shahra and Erazor Djinn birbs and for some reason I figure Merlina would fit as a snoot, not sure what kind though since snoot is so broad.

the fact Civil Wars was civiecunts seething at the heroes and not Nitro, the guy who actually blew up Stamford is wild to me. I once remember chatting with a friend how if instead of a hero vs hero story it shoulda been instead more about the line in the sand for treating villains. Such as the split between those just saying kill them since have sicko's like Bullseye or Carnage but others arguing that in the cases of crooks like Shocker or Diamondback that some have the chance to turn things around to be better people/ if they start then it'll escalate villains to be more dangerous and volatile if they realise no matter whatever the severity of their standing as a villain will lead to them being killed. Of course that was ages ago we chatted idea and now I'm just sick of the whole heroes should murder their popular villains or they are hitler shit that's everywhere now, it's so tiresome.
