Time for a new IDW thread! Starting with a couple issues of DC x Sonic! Never mind that there are no IDW characters in this. I'm sure they're somewhere! Anyway, the usual is that this thread is for IDW specifically but you can still talk about it and anything else in the general threads.
>>17388 >>17387 Because Sonamy is serious business and totally canon. They loved it when he held her hand but not when he didn't call her his girlfriend and one true love like he always does.
>>17369 >Muted tab, cutscene for every popup, stutters whenever I'm mousing over something else. I'm sure this anniversary of Red Alert or whatever it is will be over soon and the amount of happiness in the world will have gone up higher for those who played it than for me who hadn't.
>>17425 >IDW gets genesis wave'd >during the crossover you get an issue with Amy in a Harley outfit and the Flash wearing Sonic's shoes >reboot finishes, we're missing a tonne of characters >everyone plays pass around the Nico- Belle head, reliving memories of their past life >"Wow I'm glad that's over" >dump the head in the nearest Eggman Empire toxic runoff
>>17367 >Oh this blimp thing is something else. Watch out! You're gonna crash! Ahhh! >>17370 Amy didn't want competition >>17377 Where's best GL (and one of DC's cutest redheads) Guy Gardner? He and game!Silver have the exact same personality. John Stewart's too nice (and too moral) >>17380 >Not even a misunderstanding and fight? He only does that with Sonic, and only because that's how they flirt >>17383 >bestie D-does Ian know only girls and gay men use that term? >>17385 Notice how Sonic immediately goes to stand next to Knuckles? >>17390 >pair up with the locals Can't say anthros or Mobians can they? Certainly can't say Jockerians >>17391 >I hope you aren't reading this for Amy and Wonder Woman lol. lmao even! I did like the old Wonder Woman TV show. Lynda Carter's so pretty
>>17446 >Darkseid's fucking with the Chaos Emeralds drag in other SEGA games >Guy is dragged into Sega various beat 'em ups and action games such as Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Yakuza & MadWorld/Anarchy Reigns >Kyle is dealing with Gunstar Heroes, Bayonetta & Comix Zone >Hal is having time of his life in After Burner
>>17397 >Almost looks like an angry cat. He looks like Powdered Toast Man from Ren & Stimpy >>17402 Why does Amy's car have eyelashes? >>17403 >Superman has some serious eyebrow game in that second panel. One of his lesser known powers >>17406 >Interesting looking machine you got there, D. Apokoliptian tech is always so extra >>17408 ABT's art's been great, but he really skimped with Flash's butt here >>17410 lmao >>17414 >>17424 It's Barry, but with Wally's personality because Barry doesn't have one >>17422 Thanks Konductor! >>17436 We originally got this as last year's April Fool's (and to kick off our new board) >>17437 lmao
>>17453 He learnt it from Rouge! One thing I find fascinating about Ian's writing is that while he writes great Sonknux content, I genuinely don't think he's doing it intentionally. You can tell he likes to tease a bit with Sonadow, but he really gets Sonic and Knuckles' banter, and interaction in general
>>17448 >It's Barry, but with Wally's personality because Barry doesn't have one Bringing back Barry was a terrible idea on DC's part. Wally had so much more personality and development. Barry worked a lot better as a posthumous rarely-appearing ideal of heroism for Wally to look up to.
Having Eobard Thawne back is fun, he's the most hilariously petty asshole in comic history, but even that's a double-edged sword since it means Hunter Zolomon gets sidelined.
>>17466 Don't worry fam, we'll fix it by adding five more Flashes, each incredibly stock and uninteresting, and then shuffle the one personality between all of them! It's a surefire strategy that can't possibly fail!
>>17470 Sounds good, but we also need 14 more Earth GLs and 6 more Robins. Otherwise someone might get actual character development and we'd have to reboot continuity again in Final Secret Flashpoint Crisis War of Darkness Crisis Crisis.
>>17368 Not our problem. This is a cross-multiverse situation under the jurisdiction of the DC Zone's Zone Cops branch. That or their local gods and higher powers of note. And since I'm not seeing Orion, Highfather or the Endless around, then I'm going to assume it's not their problem either.
>4chan is kill >this shitty board is still completely dead and inactive Looks like chasing off everyone that isn’t a colossal fucking faggot/ tranny was not a winning strategy.
I'm excited for the next IDW volume because it has Surge in it. Surge is fucking based and should have won.
>>17490 It's funny how nu-channers get so mad as transsexuals. /b/ would love traps but now imageboards are populated by temporarily embarrassed normalfags who are desperate to have a boring, mundane world with absolutely nothing offensive or risky in their short lives.
>>17490 Eh? I haven't seen that here. I thought this board was just unpopulated because no-one knows it exists and the format is a little janky... and right now laggy.
>>17567 >nu-channers get so mad as transsexuals For some reason screaming is the default behaviour for everyone. >/b/ wants nothing offensive or risky Never did. >The internet was better when it was for freaks Never was.
>>17490 For the record, we've actually had a few posters that disapprove of faggotry and we either get along fine or just don't interact. I actually put together an archive of Purp's comic for him since he didn't have a backup, and he's not exactly a fan of the gays™
Frankly, I find the notion that people have to agree 100% on everything in order to interact positively to be extremely juvenile, and we're literally on a board devoted to a blue rat that runs fast and doesn't afraid of anything
>>17575 >no-one knows it exists I think the board name being in cyrillic probably doesn't help, that and the 4/co/ jannies would ban anyone that mentioned here in Sonic threads. I'm pretty sure they added plus4chan to the autoban wordlist a few weeks before the hack
>>17678 >Frankly, I find the notion that people have to agree 100% on everything in order to interact positively to be extremely juvenile, and we're literally on a board devoted to a blue rat that runs fast and doesn't afraid of anything Considering most 4channers are complete sexual degenerates in some way or another, you'd think they'd learn to be a little more open-minded though.
"REPENT FOR YOUR UNNATURAL CARNAL LUSTS OR FACE JUDGEMENT, SINNER!" screamed the anime BDSM loli fetishist to the gay guy.
Jesus Christ, the IDW comics are so gash. There's literally never any stakes or tension. After that entire run with Clutch and the shit he pulled the Restoration is no worse off in any way. The comic is characters venturing from safe place to safe place with no drama or tension. Fuck, this is awful. Issue 78 can suck my fat chode.
>>18382 >Surge being bored to death with all the mundane shit they're doing Oh God, I bet this is some shitty meta-commentary on how boring IDW Sonic is.
https://boards.4chan.org/co/thread/148493543 https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/148493543 Might as well post this here. Another issue I don't have to storytime!
>>18238 Yeah, people can be into really strange shit. Sometimes I wonder how much of their hatred of The Gays™ is just them finding an outlet to project their disgust about all the degenerate stuff they're into >>18382 You'd think Blaze being too late to stop a fire and a town about to sink beneath the waves would be a high stakes story but it was such a snooze-fest. They literally could've done the entire issue as a one-page montage about them visiting various towns and seeing the Restoration's doing fine on its own before getting into the Mimic storyline. I'd have actually really liked that since it frontloads a lot of worldbuilding before getting to the action >>18383 >tfw Surge is the most relatable character >>18398 It's actually a pretty nice board and is pretty much /sthg/ without the schizo/bot/funposting. Some of the other boards are absolutely disgusting though. I made the mistake of opening one of their MLP boards and got a face full of IRL horse genitalia
>>18473 >They literally could've done the entire issue as a one-page montage about them visiting various towns and seeing the Restoration's doing fine on its own before getting into the Mimic storyline. It reminds me a bit of how the Space Arc in Archie has the time-travelling aliens build Sonic a ship at super-speed in the length of a page, so that Sonic can get to his next adventure.
IDW would have an entire issue dedicated to this stupid spaceship being built, with cameos by the entire game cast (even though Silver and Blaze ought to be in different dimensions), a page of Whisper crying over nothing, and Sonic spouting Crush 40 lyrics. The end would have a stinger about next issue's epic battle with Fucko, the Least Powerful Quadruple-Amputee in the Cosmos.
>>18489 >IDW would have an entire issue dedicated to this stupid spaceship being built I disagree on the grounds that I don't remember IDW having anything like that, but agree that the crying page would be required. Maybe 3 crying pages.
>>18489 That's it exactly! Pre-TPP comics had to stuff an entire interesting story into 8-20 pages but now it's possible to drag an entire story across 80 pages of a 4 issue volume. Some webcomics have very similar issues with pacing since they're not limited to a pagecount (or an editor telling them to hurry up with the plot), and I think that's carried over to traditional comics now that most people get their start there. Ian and Evan (and I think most of the other writers and artists) started doing fancomics before they did traditional comics after all >Sonic spouting Crush 40 lyrics It was cute the first few times, but it's become a writing crutch that's extremely obnoxious. At least mix the lyrics up, or recontextualize them into something interesting! >The end would have a stinger about next issue's epic battle with Fucko, the Least Powerful Quadruple-Amputee in the Cosmos. What's especially hilarious is that the only IDW villains with a decent win-loss ratio are Rough and Tumble, and they're supposed to be the joke villains! I still maintain Clutch could be a great villain, if they leaned into him having so much experience with the previous generation's heroes that he can outmaneuver everyone despite being super old. Someone who's made all the mistakes Eggman and the rest keep making, but with the maturity to learn from them would be a genuine threat to Sonic and friends >>18571 >tfw the real reason they never do underwater stories in IDW is because you wouldn't be able to see the tears Deepest lore (no pun intended)!
