That's the problem with modern story-telling.
The plots (Skyfall, parts of Games of Thrones, huge parts of Doctor Who and Sherlock, any MCU shit, most of fucking Young Justice, etc.) all devolve to the season long, arc long, movie long big bad being a fucking three-D chess player fifteen gazillion moves ahead of the hero/heroes - until he isn't.
It's tedious.
And fucking boring by repetition.

the pencil and ink art is nice, but they should have done some spot color, some duotone in a few spots
you can see in the end panel tag on the second page how effective just a tiny bit spread out in different primary colors (just red yellow blue and I guess that green) would have been just a tad bit more effective

Exactly, which is obviously what the movie was trying to show. Babette was just an extension of Ann’s general kindness, nothing romantic there, though again, it’s just a dumb headcanon

In these trying times let us remember better things. I started rewatch of this recently and have been enjoying it immensely. Coincidentally I'm doing a first time read through of Amazing Spider-Man from issue #1 and I was surprised at how well some of the episodes adapt the comics, particularly with the Scorpion.
