In these trying times let us remember better things. I started rewatch of this recently and have been enjoying it immensely. Coincidentally I'm doing a first time read through of Amazing Spider-Man from issue #1 and I was surprised at how well some of the episodes adapt the comics, particularly with the Scorpion.
>>479549 I found it funny that after the final issue of Ahmed's run included a page where Miles assures the kid who designed this costume that he loves it, Ziglar's run started with him back in his classic costume without any explanation.
>>479549 It seems innocuous but it's really just a reason to try to advertise that he's black. Also dumb that they need to reinvent the wheel with him every five seconds. No amount of flashy new this will ever make up for the fact that he's not Spider-Man.
At this point I wish Donald Glover had never existed so we never would've wound up having to deal with this abomination.
>>476139 the 90s marvel shows had a weird relationship with how faithful they wanted to be so one the one hand, you had them actually having the balls to adapt lesser known or really silly storylines like mojovision or the savage land in X-men but at other times, they would make drastic changes to the characters for no reason other that they could, like changing electro to be the son of red skull
>>480118 True. Bendis really is the root problem that should've never happened. Though, I also feel if he had never done that Donald For Spider-Man thing they wouldn't have had the balls to do Miles.
Reading through ASM for the first time and going from ASM # 25 to checking THIS out is a nauseating whiplash and I can't help but notice how blaringly inferior this is in every way. Just from the get go: >>480174 Disgusting Peter Who? Who? Who? Gives a fuck? Where are the sexy White girls fighting over Pete? >>480175 Do not even slightly care for the little Spidey-icon. Feels inauthentic compared to thought balloons. The whole describing over the top purple prosey sensations is weaksauce and doesn't feel on brand for Spidey. He should be more like: "Holy Hannah! I'm getting put through the ringer here. If I don't find a way to turn this thing around he's gonna clean my clock!" Starting with a splash page feels cheap, the whole concept of splash pages feels cheap now. >>480176 My word what are these terrible panels it's loud, it's blinding, it's ugly, it's abhorrent, and it's just plain hard to read. There's also four panel compered to Ditko's consistent 9 per page. No wonder they can't tell a whole story in one comic they've gutted half the runtime. This art is disgusting and fils to cpture the spirit of Spider-Man. Internal monologue is painfully inferior to the omnipresent narration of Stan Lee. Pete's jokes do not land in monologue they should be quipped out to annoy his villains.
I hate it. I hate everything about it. I don't know when I'm going to have to drop ASM but there's a good chance it will be around the time they make the switch to this stupid way of doing things.
>>480177 Peter doesn't swear. It feels wrong to see him getting battle damage so nonchalantly. >>480178 What in the sweet fuck is this page supposed to be. >>480179 Horrible art, forced perspective is dumb. >>480181 Not loving the bitch.
I'm gonn be honest I can't bring myself to finish.
