>>478679 His Ann is really cute. I am a big fan of the :3 expressions he gave her. They make her seem a little more goofy and awkward than other Ann designs. >>478708 That was what I was thinking too but I thought they might be standees to display extra doll clothes and that underwear would make more sense in that context.
>>479179 Glad to hear it. A big part of the reason I find these characters so fascinating is how many insanely talented people worked on their cartoons which is why I like the production art so much. The A Musical Adventure model sheets in particular are absolutely dripping with love for animation as an art form.
Just realized that I left this out of the OP. It technically isn't /co/ but it has some songs from A Musical Adventure so I figured it counts as /co/ adjacent. It was apparently lost media until fairly recently.
>>480493 I have considered attempting to make a Raggedy Ann doll that is on-model to her A Musical Adventure design. No enhancements though. My obsessive love for Raggedy Ann is entirely platonic. It would be cool to make her a little skeleton out of PVC pipes or something so she could articulate and hold poses for display.
>Go looking for more fun art and official stuff to post >Accidentally discover that Raggedy Ann was created as a tribute to his daughter Marcella who tragically died at 12 >He based Ann's owner on her as a way to keep her alive in some form Fuck. That puts a lot of the stuff in the series into a different perspective.
>>481403 In the live action musical it’s actually about Marcella, and raggedy Ann comes to life to help her find a cure or something, it was weird Rag Dolly In The USSR, A Documentary Also, not exactly related, but I hate seeing new fans have Ann being gay as a major head canon, it’s so lame
>>481406 No promises since I'll need to learn how to sew but maybe I'll come back in a few years with a rag dolly to call my own and necrobump the thread. >>481427 It is such a sad story. I really need to watch the musical some day. Suddenly it's Spring is also about a very ill little girl although they gave her a different name and I sort of doubt that was on accident. >I hate seeing new fans have Ann being gay as a major head canon, it’s so lame I guess I get it but making it a love thing really cheapens Ann forgiving Babette despite everything that she did. She would do the same for any of Marcella's toys because it is just in her nature to care about others.
>>481433 > few years with a rag dolly to call my own and necrobump the thread Please do anon, that would be very nice > really cheapens Ann forgiving Babette despite everything that she did. She would do the same for any of Marcella's toys because it is just in her nature to care about others. Exactly, which is obviously what the movie was trying to show. Babette was just an extension of Ann’s general kindness, nothing romantic there, though again, it’s just a dumb headcanon
