Wrong person to answer that (I mostly watch older stuff), but currently watching Vikings. It's not super new, but the episodes I'm at were done within the last 5 years. The writing is a mish-mash of sagas, as well as creative liberty. What happens in the show and what the actors do on-screen is very realistic regarding actual human nature, with only mild romantization. The only flaws are an unnecessary blue tint on the camera and just a tad too much pointless drama (realistic, but I could use less).
Vikings is essentially Game of Thrones, with more realistic and down to earth.

>>417273 >What TV series is /mtv/ following nowadays? I'm stuck in a time warp watching 2003 cartoons and 90's CN. Most free-to-air TV in my country is downright abysmal.
Oh yes. We’re a little over a month away from the premiere of Luke Cage. So here’s the full trailer for the show to tide you over until September 30th: //youtube.com/watch?v=ytkjQvSk2VA
>>417232 >[non-/mtv/ discussion continued in /baw/politics] Wait a second. The backend allows posts to be moved to different boards? I thought it only worked on the same board.
Lotta things to this one. Justice League will be just one film. Flash will be the comedic relief. Steppenwolf is the main villain, and just him. Lets see what happens.
Everything I have read about the show’s chances of staying on the air say “the show is dead”. I would expect to hear a cancellation notice dropping any day now.
>>47152 Mine tends to have a strange fondness for dumb shlock so it's not really that surprising. That's not an insult either, is fine to like that stuff and doesn't invalidate his other views.
>>47153 I did find it surprising because Mike hated the first ID4 precisely because it was dumb shlock, and Resurgence is even dumber and shlockier and somehow he loved it. I am not saying he sucks for it or anything like that, but it was supremely odd to hear him giving praise to the movie.
Phase Three is the end of an era in Marvel films, in and out of the MCU: the X-Men film franchise will lose the only Logan it’s ever known after Hugh Jackman films the next Wolverine, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans will close out their runs as Iron Man and Captain America with Infinity War—Pt. II, and Infinity War itself will be the climax of a decade-long plan that turned Marvel films into box office juggernauts.
And it all begins with Captain America: Civil War. Here’s the last trailer for the film—complete with the reveal of the MCU’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man: //youtube.com/watch?v=dKrVegVI0Us
>>46670 >there is no way to keep things straight. Unless thats the joke, like in the OG TMNT comic. >>46672 Aw cute! Also my mind when staight to "NYA!" so fuck me I guess.
Had they not spat in the eye of half the fanbase and it may have done better and getting past that most seem to think the writing and directing was crap.
... message too long. Click here to view the full post.
"Half the fanbase" is referring to the gender politics engaged by the marketing, director, and production staff, which has nothing to do in regards to making references to the previous movies.
DC General Edition 4 (You) http://collider.com/batman-vs-superman-review-early/ Someone who saw the movie early gives his thoughts on BvS. Sounds... not terrible, probably better than Man of Steel though not the critical smash hit WB would like it to be.
>>46140 >>46146 >I don't expecy this "Capekino" idiocy to die down any time soon, not until Cameron starts pushing Avatar 2 for real. >Ah Avatar 2, the film Cameron is no longer as enthused to make since he's not top of the movie pile anymore. Be better off doing Battle Angel and going for a niche. Boys I'm from the future, you'll never guess what is happening
>>417992 Funny that he ultimately did not make Battle Angel Alita, he passed it off to another director. Also, that movie is probably the most accurate anime to Hollywood conversion I've seen so far.
I don't follow capeshit movies any more, are they still being made? Last time I checked, they completely axed most of those and started a flood of TV series instead, since nobody was going to movies due to covid.
>>417993 I didn't expect a reply, I was scrolling through since I saw this thread was from when BVS opened and found it fascinating to read. With capeshit the short version is both Marvel and DC are in the process of rebooting or changing significantly. Marvel are seemingly building up to a large in-universe reboot and has been pulling from the 00s Pre-MCU movies lately also, meanwhile DC are completely restarting with James Gunn at the helm, remains to be seen if the much delayed Flash movie will be the one to pull the trigger on Gunn's reboot as it was meant to be a different in-universe reboot.
tl;dr marvel is going steady but stale, dc is currently fucked but Gunn is better than Snyder.
The frontman for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver died yesterday. As the old /mtv/ General stopped bumping, we needed a new one, so this one’s for you, Scott.
Or perhaps there will be no relation at all with the rest of the new characters in the main trilogy. I hate when stories develop to a point where EVERYBODY seems to be family or related in some way, the worst kind of contrivance IMO.
Marvel General: (Fantastic) Fifth Edition New info about Doctor Strange and Civil War at D23, X-Men 'verse is still going strong, and Fox still claims to be interested in doing a sequel to Fantastic Flop despite the critical and financial trashing it got.
>>45405 Also she apparently didn't watch Winter Soldier which is almost criminal. I'm surprised so many people continue to think Steve is a Lawful Stupid type after that movie came out. Must have seen him in the Avengers films only.
New trailer for Civil War drops tomorrow. Rumblings in the underbelly of Hollywood suggest this trailer—the final one before the film’s release—might feature the reveal of the MCU Spider-Man.
>Those rival distributors who lowered their Batman v. Superman opening forecasts toward $100M have their suspicions about the Zack Snyder-helmed movie given the MPAA’s news that the home entertainment version of the movie would carry an R-rating. However, according to social media monitor RelishMix, since the R-rated news broke, the conversation for #BatmanvSuperman spiked 60% with 5K combined hashtags across Twitter and Instagram. Ninety-five percent of the chatter is positive about that R-rating.
