This means that every post that's linked to on one of the comic pages will now have a link back to the comic! You can see what I mean by opening any of the early threads. This means the archived threads and the comics pages are now fully integrated with each other!

I love hate that scrambled arc, on one hand, really shows why eggman is someone you don’t fuck with. I liked the arc, but I prefer Eggman to only talk up being a massive threat that's only a slight effort from world domination. He could easily overrun most cities' local forces (local militia, GUN, FFs, etc), but wouldn't be able to hold it once reinforcements arrived.
I was fine with him taking over most of the world in Forces since Infinite could just conjure up entire armies of Shadow/Chaos/Zavok/etc. It'd only been six months so I could see the resistance getting wise to his tactics and winning back ground even without Sonic and Tails

I'm actually fine with Sonic and Eggman never scoring a decisive victory, but they should be able to win battles here and there. We were a bit spoiled in Archie since Sonic (really Snively) killed Robotnik and he (more or less) stayed dead. IDW complaining below:

My main issue with the stalemate in IDW is it never feels earned. It's fine when they let Eggman go in Boom since he's mostly just a nuisance, but IDW Eggman has an astronomical bodycount, to the point where random civilians would put a drill wisp through his head. Making Sonic have an arbitrary no kill policy to avoid this is a massively unsatisfying way to keep Eggman alive, especially when Game, Archie, and even Movie Sonic are totally fine with killing when necessary.

Instead, I want to see Eggman doing something clever to get away, only for Sonic and friends to counter it, but not enough that he still doesn't get away. Eggman's supposed to be a survivor, and having Sonic just let him go robs us of cool villain gloating when he gets away properly

It's risk versus reward for an instant speed boost. Spindash will protect you from (non-spiked) enemies, but slows down on flat or inclining surfaces since you're using rolling physics. The peel-out has a higher initial speed, and won't slow you down to a stop since it uses running physics. It's because it's the designated /sthg/ thread on /co/ as well as the Sonic Prime threads and maybe the Sonic movie threads. That being said, the number of anons that join the Archie threads are almost twice as much as the Unofficial threads were. Not that many people frequently posted in the Unofficial threads but we're averaging 50 posters a thread and aside from some obvious shitposting which can mostly be attributed to two people, it's been very positive. We enjoy the good, call out the bad, and have fun with the crazy stuff. I'm all for poking fun at stuff I don't like but I don't want to get angry or stay focused on it.

I know IDW isn't generating a lot of genuine interest but I try to be neutral at worst. It's a shame that there are so many that stay in those IDW threads and only talk shit about everything. And no matter how much some hate IDW, they hate Archie more and you can tell they aren't following our threads. There's an acquired appreciation when someone actually reads the comics. But there are those that will never give it a chance. And there are also those that have tried Archie and didn't like it.

As far as Sonic and Amy goes no one even gets into how there are fundamentally three Amy Roses and the only reason she had so much static with western audiences is how bad Adventure and Adventure 2's voice direction were and Sega inexplicably doubling down on character traits she was never intended to have so strongly because Sega is run by crazy people.

You've got classic-adventure Amy where she's a girl with a crush inspired by Sonic to have her own adventures who gives him shit and, while not above quid pro quo when doing him a favor, is mostly just a nice person who's sincere enough to talk Shadow down from supervillainy.

You've got x-heroes-game boy Amy who's like Akane Tendo without the charm and nuance, who spends her time literally chasing Sonic with a mallet and planning marriage traps. This is the version games-only people tend to fixate on despite largely being a reaction to how Sonic X characterized her.

Then you've got modern-boom-frontiers Amy who, frankly, has some Sally elements worked in: she's willing to give Sonic crap again and has goals and desires outside of literally chasing him. This version doesn't really exist in Japan since they changed her Frontiers story to be about bridal training because idk, i dont fucking know.

Thinking about the two ships for Knuckles had me evaluating how Rouge and Julie-Su would work out in comic form. Knuxouge seems to be a ship that works on paper and in shipping art but not so much given how both characters are. Knuckles is stuck on Angel Island and Rouge is doing whatever everywhere else, occasionally visiting and then leaving. One of them needs to change their habits or it's one of those relationships where if you focused on one of them you wouldn't see the other that much. Freeing Knuckles from Angel Island or having Rouge stay there with him would fix that. Or maybe people like it that they stay separated for long periods of time.

And then there's Julie-Su. I'll give Penders credit for making Angel Island into a place with all sorts of people for Knuckles to interact with. And then he plops in a girl for Knuckles to eventually plap. Funny thing is that Julie-Su barely interacted with Knuckles during Penders' run and Ian had them being a couple more often.

Rouge and Knuckles is kinda like black cat and spidey to me. She wants to have fun and do iiegal stuff and tries to tempt knuckles to go all out. But Knuckles has his responsibility and his personality stop that thot from getting him. At most, maybe some one night stand thing but any true settling down relationship is just not a thing that could happen between them

Knuxouge shippers def dislike Julie but she set a good way of seeing the best type of person for knuckles to be with than Rouge. Someone he could always trust, and willing to stay with him along with his duty of being a guardian on the angel. Julie and probably shade if they developed her further are great for him. Plus, they're the same species lol, but basically any one who meets those crtieria are perfect for rad red.

Also yeah, I actually like julie from what I read but damn was it frustrating for penders to just sideline her imedaitely for the grandpas and others. Not to mention soul touch BS

Peter and Felicia have it better because they work in the same area and aren't stuck 90% of the time in some distant area. Knuckles and Rouge are a fun couple but Angel Island and the Master Emerald is the main thing keeping them apart. I can imagine Angel Island sinking and the Master Emerald being at GUN HQ and Knuckles grudgingly allowing it to be there. They help him guard it and he works for them. And Rouge gets a teammate she can bang whenever they're not on a mission (and sometimes when they are).

Honestly I see game Knuckles as more of a globetrotting treasure hunter who regularly visits his island than a brooding hermit shackled to a magic rock. The island's clearly got enough traps to protect the ME from non-Eggman threats, and Knuckles can sense if it's in danger anyway. As for their relationship, I see them develop a treasure hunting rivalry post-SA2 where they're always running into each other. After a few team ups to stop a bigger threat (and some post-adventure plappings) they'd realize they make a great team and finally admit their feelings. The Archie versions of Knuckles and Rouge are a terrible match (for many reasons), so I'm team Julie-Su all the way, even if Knuckles and Julie-Su don't have as big a contrast in their personalities. I actually didn't mind their relationship under Penders (apart from the soultouch nonsense), and there were even a few issues focusing on their relationship that were really cute. I agree they needed more opportunities to interact and that their relationship really blossomed under other writers though

But that's the fun of it. Put Knuckles in a situation he can't easily get out of it for some reason. So he's on edge and over time eases up. Have Tower be straight up and honorable about it. Maybe someone within GUN steals it and Tower apologizes to Knuckles but he can't even be mad because of how many times it happened to him on Angel Island. And Rouge is always there to give him that emotional support that she usually gives Shadow.

That would require a different version of the characters. Sega is really bad at giving Knuckles anything to do and Rouge doesn't seem to get much fleshing out. What continuity or piece of media provides that kind of relationship for them? Or would it have to be an altered adaptation that makes it work?

Yeah they're both serious but that's what makes their relationship cute. Penders did show Julie-Su trying to be a bit more feminine when realizing she had feelings for Knuckles. And Knuckles may not be a bumbling mess like he is in the games when dealing with Rouge but he was also going through a lot of anxiety when realizing he liked Julie-Su. Archie Rouge is such a bad girl that's done some bad things but also really good things.

I'd say, they are playing it as a bit, An I suspect the reason might be that Sally is starting to see a pattern that when they actually get together, something terrible happen soon after.

They might just tease Salicole as a misdirection for the readers, but what I actually fear would be a knee-jerk reactions from some fans that might really be what sour it all.
