I have to agree, moving towards a more Boom-like relationship is a huge improvement. From what I can tell it was Kiyoko Yoshimura (and Maekawa to a lesser extent) that were responsible for the original relationship dynamic. Technically that Sonic also likes Amy but is incapable of expressing it, and he was willing to go on a date with her between Unleashed and Black Knight. At least now we don't have to worry about it looking one-sided anymore

Attention. There are some people that need some kind of acknowledgement. Good or bad, anything that has people responding to them in some way. That's why Boco does what he does. That's why shitposting and trolling threads are so common on the board. Once someone figures out how to get maximum responses they'll keep doing it. The plus side to an IDW thread on /co/ is that it's a much better target and many other anons will happily argue regardless of how obvious the bait is. That's why even calling a shitposter out isn't going to work because they'll eat it up and ask for more.

Hell, I need attention. Being a storytimer with interactions with anons tells me that I'm not wasting my time posting for just myself. Some indicator showing how many anons are viewing the thread without posting would be a good alternative but those replies help bump the thread and show that there are people reading.

Over time, I learned that just a few comment is enough to encourage an artist. Any time I see something that I like, I try to make a comment and try for it to be insightful and point out out a detail that I can guess the artist considered important. Nailing that can easily send a significant amount of endorphin in their brain.

IDW threads being such good targets really draws the worst kind of attention away from other Sonic threads, from what I've found. I can relate, it's why I always try to keep the energy up in the threads, even if I can't make it to all of them live. As for the actual audience, rule of thumb is 1:10 posters to lurkers. I think we do much better though since I get 1,000-2,000 visitors to the website when I announce an update, and the daily visitors almost never dip below 100. I've never mentioned the site outside of these threads so they're probably not coming from anywhere else. I'm guessing most lurkers don't visit the site so we might have an audience of at least 5,000. Kinda terrifying!

It's on the todo list, but it's very low priority and hasn't been needed because our users all know how imageboards work (also there's a sticky on /baw/ with the shortcuts). To be fair, bullying you is fun! I've had a look through SaluteYourCat's art and maybe I'm just being smooth brained but I don't really see anything wrong with it. Sure Blaze and Marine are naked (and barefoot), but they don't appear to be posed lewdly. If it were Sonic and Tails instead I wouldn't even have given it a second thought.

I never noticed that, though it's true that I haven't storytimed anything on 4chan since years.

the last time I did, I had to specifically make the OP thread in another session, so it would still bump when I post the pages. I think I got an entire comic posted that way with the thread still being bumped, which would mean that only the OP poster can't bump his own thread. Don't know if they added extra rules to it so multiple posters can't bump either, I did this 5+ years ago. The captcha and the 1 minute bump times make it too fucking annoying to storytime anything, it takes a fucking hour even assuming I don't miss the post queue.
