>>337214 Not him, but I specifically like the ones that mutate. They're a good way to work cool Chaos mutants into MD without having to make shit up out of whole cloth, hint hint.
>>337219 Can't we just put a few grunts into a tank? You get more drones that way and you get the opportunity for the human tank commander to "integrate" with his crew during downtime, just imagine the cramped tank interior one of the grunts sitting on your lap because they don't have to man the main gun right now all other drones constantly making contact with you

>>337246 Yeah, how so? On the one hand Cyn is still as slow and playful as normal with her extermination and is very much near-completely unkillable. On the other, Humans are one of the few things that she seems to take semi-seriously on occasion: she went to IMMEDIATELY kill CFL and Copper-9 in general after she stopped the patch testing(with the flesh hole and null sphere combo), and likewise she went way out of her way to destroy not only the patch, but literally all means of recreating it.
>Solver war but humanity whacks Cyn by firing an antimatter bomb into the null in the first hour of the war >All according to Cyn’s keikaku, or ancient prophecy, or something >Disassembly drones respond by launching a full scale suicide attack to wipe out the major human population centers such as the Australian outback, Antarctica, and the Sahara desert in order to declare victory against mankind >Based off their brilliant intel gathering, the DD’s then attack Humanity’s most vital space based defense, the Star Wars attraction at Disneyland, though 99% of them are picked off by park security with handguns >The DD’s flood social media with AI footage of poorly rendered explosions from World of Warships and recordings ripped straight from Arma and Kerbal Space Program, claiming “Humanity has fallen, The Singularity is imminent!” >Humanity straight copies the Murder Drones to create Sentinel drones, which work way better, are unironically cheaper, and don’t just fly aimlessly in straight lines and then get shot down or blow up parking lots >E is made supreme leader, as the rest of the alphabet was killed almost immediately by Human weapons >She intends to finally win the war by waging jihad against the world’s banana republics, if she isn’t assassinated within the next 12 hours
>>337258 You know what, I thiught it was the shitter when I read it, but still dared to hope. That may make me a retard but I'd bet it's of the noble kind.
>>337257 I don't think she considered humanity specifically a threat, but perhaps just the patch. We saw that killing the witches was just as much of a priority as destroying the patch, so they, along with the patch, could actually do something against her. Of course, not much, and only under certain conditions, but still.
>>337271 That's mainly what I'm talking about there: that the Humans were able, under certain conditions, to get her to drop the silly and start actually using her metaphorical "both fists" at times, as opposed to purely playing around(like she does against even Uzi). On the one hand that essentially kills any chance of them winning (since she's willing to actually try against them) but, on the other, that implies there were at least times and places that forced her to sit up and take serious stock of the situation(CFL being the biggest for obvious reasons).

>>337278 >Humans were able, under certain conditions, to get her to drop the silly and start actually using her metaphorical "both fists" at times, as opposed to purely playing around That still wouldn't do anything if Humanity lacked the proper tools to deal with her. Magic Must Defeat Magic
>read: if humanity had magic, rituals, and random gods like the Solver "but on its side" ALONGSIDE their existing sci-fi nonsense >they might not even have souls in cannon
Sure, if Humans were pulling off unlimited wish or dragon ball shenanigans then they could have won. But from what vanishingly little of it we've seen(Tessa's room and the cathedral) human-style occultism is unreliable at best if not completely ineffective. Maybe in some variant of the threadcannon(and even then likely knly Ansible's setting) but not anywhere else.
>>337277 They would hate us. They would despise us for what we made them do with our greens. Harper would hate us for killing her husband, Elf would hate us for raping her, Cyn would want to null us but she wouldn’t because she knows some of us would like it, N would be disappointed but he would be glad we are having fun and being creative, Y would probably intentionally forget about it, Avre would be happy saloon anon exists because of us, Negev knows already,
>>337273 Fun Fact: Everything a drone sees gets saved directly to memory so you better hope that drone didn't glimpse your license plate or pray that the owner can't recover any data, otherwise you're getting slapped with a criminal damage to property charge!

That’s it no more drones. Only meat and blood humans with real hair and odd sacs of fat over their maintenance hatch. With round and not featureless bottom plates that are curved instead of regular. And legs with knee joints and real ankles that have non-toeless feet attached to them.

>>337473 If I remember correctly, grunt mechs in Gundam were cheap and easy to produce. Does this mean sentinel grunt drones can be thought of as cheaper alternatives to standard sentinel drones? If so, which specialization would be more suitable for them: 1) Supporting more expensive and advanced sentinel drones. 2) Supporting standard infantry. 3) Being part of a separate unit of sentinel grunt drones.
I haven't watched Gundam, and I suspect they might be used due to their obvious high cost, albeit lower than sentinel drones. Has anyone seen Gundam? What role did the mechs in those models play?
>>337478 iirc the Zaku (which GDs are based on) was the first mass production mobile suit, but its success on the battlefield was predominantly because only Zeon had mobile suits, giving them a massive advantage until the federation developed their own later down the line. I don't think they were necessarily cheap for their time, though they no doubt were when compared to later more advanced mobile suits
>>337478 >cheaper alternative But wouldn't the problem in production would be the same for both grunt and worker conversions? Sentinel string happens at random and while grunts would be eligable for it it's just not common enough for humans to "just make more" excepting the overwhemingly expensive Holly-type bots. If anything grunts would be even rarer than WD based sentinels simply because there are far less grunts for the code to "manifest" in.
>>337481 They are hermetically sealed, electrically driven, frictionless and brushless motors, very efficient and able to develop tremendously high torque and rpm. Not as efficient as what the solver can do with DDs, thus why their limbs and joints are proportionally bulkier.
>>337482 Well, it's still possible to say they're cheaper, albeit less effective, plus, the grunts drones were created as a cheap military force against the solver, since it couldn't capture them due to their different design. Although as anon: >>337483 pointed out, they need to have code against the solver, which can't be created manually. Then it turns out that sentinel grunt drones should be like sentinel drones, but essentially a different model, and perform similar functions.
>>337486 (me) And there is also a question: will sentinel grunts drones be the same kind of silly who only wants to follow orders and watch war movies?
manananggal are similar to vampires as both share key vampiric traits like being nocturnal predators, feeding on blood, being repelled by garlic and salt, and fearing sunlight, which can destroy them. What if we have a drone version of that like maybe Rebecca or one of her offspring. Does Rebecca have any fankids?

>>337473 Kinda contradicts the entire purpose of both types of unit. A Sentinel is supposed to function like an ASF, maximum killing power in a portable package, a Grunt is supposed to be cheaper to deploy than human infantry and carry the same weapons. It's also lost even a remote resemblance to anything in the setting, if you weren't versed in threadlore there'd be no way to tell it was meant to be here.
NTA, but that's why I figured these make the most sense as an extension of the "regular" Sentinel concept: grunts have drone-based software = grunts can get random Sentinel-code = those grunts get recruited for an upgrade (just like regular drones). If you go the other direction you've just got psudo-drone Secmarines, which means less writing about either of them as the two compete for space.
>just as rare >just as Solver-immune >but made cheaper >this can only be deliberate skimping from the top-brass: the standard Grunt chassis and programming are about equal to Workers (albeit focused differently)
It is interesting to contrast these against Laborbots and the Sentinel dinos from cannon though. Honestly between the three the dinos might legitimately be smartest(or, if they're not, it's a close race between them and grunts).
>Grunt drones >THE soldiering standard >"Good enough" aim, armor, and armament alike >And their wills? >Invulnerable >Maybe not "clever" or "cautious" >But they were never meant to lead >They were never meant to last
>But a war is a big place >And sometimes, they do >Often, that's flesh >Terror, betrayal, the festering of form and function upon any grunt so "lucky" as to live >But not always >Some grunts, they resist >Some grunts, they endure >And some grunts, like the drones they were made from, scan with blue code string
>High Command was ecstatic >Caliban doubly so >A new kind of Sentinel? >Better: a variant even more optimized for combat? >Imagine the possibilities! >The converts were ideal >Their bodies, built for war, synergized perfectly with SD modifications >Stronger limbs, tougher armor, and regeneration to match the DDs themselves(so long as material stores were maintained) were all made possible >And the mental mods? >Even better >Their targeting systems, now synthesized with the program's own, became all but perfect: >Tactical intelligence likewise: each S-G a king, commanding all grunts around in dizzyingly complex formations while perfectly comprehending each and every sensory feed simultaneously >With such description, one might think them superior to standard Sentinels >But with every boon comes a cost...
>First: their minds >Grunts were not made for many things >As such, they lack mental "flexibility" >So when confronted with the changes the SD plan represented? >Extra eyes, inbuilt manufacturing capabilities, wings? >They simply could not adjust >And the Sentinel modifications? Those which allow workers to command such things? >"Misaligned" by the Grunt coding >Flight adjustments for bullet trajectories, extra eyes for squadmate perspectives: the very impressive capabilities mentioned prior made possible only through bastardization of their intended loadout >Worse: none of their adjustments *improved* their minds, at base >So in matters outside the tactical? >Including improvisation or adjusting mission parameters... >All but useless >They tried to fix this >But the code was of too much import: to modify it was to jeopardize the Sentinel-string itself >Leading into the next flaw
>Second: their hearts >Grunts are... grunts >They are small, stupid, and loyal to a fault >That means the Union >But it also means their squad (and commander) >Their squad that a position as solo operators would separate them from >Permanently >Most converts entered a "depressive" state: operating at less than 40% effectiveness when informed >Some took it further: expressing hostility or even disobeying orders as they sought return with "their unit" >Original plans dashed, R&D surrendered the program >But High Command understood combat >They saw potential >And, in uniting them with their old command structure, confirmed it
>As traditional Sentinels, precision-target agents with mobility and independence to spare, they were useless >But as support for regular troops? >Especially when lead by a human? >ESPECIALLY lead by THEIR human: their squad commanders? >Paragons >Solver forces shattered, flesh seas parting against chassis-mounted weapons and invincible frame alike >Better was the effect on fellow soldiers >Grunts drilled to perfection, each one moving with micromanaged precision >Humans, commanders and comrades alike, emboldened by their strength and confidence >And, of course, the most important part >The THINKING enemy's reaction >A reaction, almost always, to "focus down the big guy" >A reaction that, for the clever, opened up many opportunities...
>The order was given >Grunt drones would, indeed, be Sentinel-modified >And they would not, as a fact, be separated from their squad-batch >The resultant "corporals" were great successes >More important, they were "interesting" ones >"Interesting" to an important figure >What happens when a grunt gets strong? >What happens when its squad dies anyway? >Their others, kin, are unmodified after all >But they were never meant to die seperately >And why stop there? >Yes, such things are fun to [break] >And much easier, too, than their flying "cousins" >Their loved ones so much [closer] >The Solver revels in pain: would redirect entire fronts, slow a world's death, to see hearts and minds shattered >And that's exactly what High Command was counting on

Or has she just been "stuck" at her site of death before Haruka, slowly going mad from the complete isolation?

And that's intentional. It's not been elaborated so far in the story, but the several thousand years Aoi spent underground and her having no memories of it is a plot point, though, very far from now. >Also I notice that Aoi is specifically mentioned as a "poltergeist." Does that mean there are other *human* ghosts roaming about?(I know drone ones exist, but I don't think we've seen any other human ones) Nah the Poltergeist thing is a reference to Liam's Poltergeists (aka Malie), which Aoi is meant to be. For brevity's sake, there are no other humans on C9, Poltergeist or not. Aoi's the only one and YES, she does indeed not let it get to her head that she's the only human left in this continuity (I'm not denying nor confirming if there are any straggler colonies left in space, but knowing it's been 5000+ years since the Solver war and the fall of man....they're probably not doing well if they’re even still out there).

Well, Ynon's the writer: that means the story either ends in megaharem(most likely option) or body bags. Furthermore, we KNOW Tessa(who has a 100% survival chance herself) isn't going to take kindly to the latter, while also being literally the only one that can end the main conflict.
On the plus side: Aron himself seems to hate all drones equally right now. That leaves a small but hillarious chance that the conflicting rape attempts fuck each other up and he "bad end"s off into the sunset with some completely left-field rando that respects his autonomy, thereby cucking literally everyone in the story at once.
But yeah, in practice he's a war-bride no question
>>337944 >Well, Ynon's the writer Hah! The question was rhetorical because I asked it! Just writing from what we know about him: >practices rape avoidance with his DDs >practices makeout avoidance with his DDs >viscerally unenthusiastic in his job(which amounts to drone cuddle buddy/handjob provider) >clearly not bothered by Total Worker Death >keenly aware of his effect on drones(used against Emily), but has no interest in it beyond the practical(escape attempts) >and, of course, clearly unhappy with his abduction-by-femcel
Unless there's something I'm missing, all indications are that either Aron is a faggot (likely) or just has no affection for drones period. Certainly he has no sympathy for either side of the WD/DD conflict at the very least, given how he's treated both his corporate allies/subordinates and the Coven themselves(especially from what we see of his internal monologue).
Not to worry though: there's always mindbreak! Several (hundred) clang sessions with Emily will surely (irreversabily) change (shatter) his thoughts on the subject! He'll learn to love it! Or else...

>Also does she feel everything the clones feel or just direct them? I was asked this question before, and the answer depends on what kind of hivemind she is. I want her to work similarly to when Cyn was possessing Nori or Uzi (callback ping). if you punch a possessed Uzi, does Cyn feel it too?
>>337964 >she puts it on >it completely covers her face, Skyrim style >too prideful to remove it >too large for mini-Y to keep her visor free >in the end, she has to cut a hole and wear it like a knight's visor >her hat's still the biggest now though!
>>337997 ...probably? Judging from what we've seen in cannon? I mean, she clearly felt things as Eldritch-J("ow" ect). And she behaved the same way with her "real" body in combat as she did during Solver-possessions. I'd assume at leeast that, given how Cyn acts normally, her having Uzi eat Nori's core instead of doing it herself (with her body 3 feet away) indicates that she can at least taste(and potentially touch) through her possessed.
Only hangup in this theory: we see "confirmed" pain from the possessed only when they're about to STOP being possessed (when Nori gets patched and Uzi gets slapped). Any other time and they just sort of ragdoll. Admittedly Cyn also does this in her fight, but it's still worth noting.
>>338003 Colt is just built different >built wrong
Also, as far as I know cores in general are just functionally unfixable: any damage done to a core is forever, and when the core finally does break (from general wear and tear) the drone goes with it.
>>337997 Solver seems like a hybrid between Heirarch and Overmind. In the manor attack it directly and completely seizes the minds of all drones in proximity turning them into completely helpless puppets. However, it seems to require a measure of focus to do, and a measure of willpower exertion that matches or exceeds that of the enslaved drone (this is easy most of the time because drones are kinda mentally flighty, easily suggestable beings normally). If the solver is distracted or the host's willpower exceeds the Solver's desire to dominate it, then they can break free, or if the Solver isn't busy exerting the full measure of it's influence on an already corrupted host, it becomes more of a Hierarchy where the controlled drones are simply subject to a set of basic impulses and drives that compel them to do what the Solver needs (kill and eat other drones mostly) without direct and constant oversight.
>>338010 >other drones on the public bus seeing you hold Y's hefty tail in your lap, licking and kissing her huge stinger >murder drone tails are incredibly sensitive, made to give their user sexual pleasure when killing a target >Y is nearly comatose on the seat besides you, lubricant gushing from her untouched pussy and splattering on the floor as you give her a tailjob in public

>>337997 That image reminds me: I imagine Empress Uzi being a merged mind, with Uzi being generally dominant, but loose enough for Doll, Cyn, or Tessa to slip through like this: Fallout - The Master
>You'd think that Y would get less sensitive down there or at least used to your touch as you keep draining her stinger >But each day as her stinger grew a bit more she got more and more susceptible to your touch >It finally reached a tipping point >You grabbed Y by the stinger with one hand and begun stroking her tail >Your hand wasn't even half way there to the base of Y's tail before the yellow fluid begun spilling out >You can't call it acid anymore >It's lost all of its potency after having to be completely replenished every day for a month >You continue to move your hands until Y's stinger is empty again >Lubricant is gushing from Y's adapter, it's cover knocked out of its mounting due to the rate at which Y was jilling herself >It is time >You grab the conversion kit from your bedroom >You work while Y is rebooting from her many hair trigger orgasms >She asked a few questions >You said it was to make her able to regain her acids potency >The next day she begun asking more questions as her stinger filled up with a white liquid >Instead of answering you quickly grabbed the end of her tail and put the nozzle you replaced her spike with in your mouth >Y moaned as your lips made contact with just the tip of the nozzle >The delicious fluid enters your mouth in spurts as you keep sucking >Before long Y is on her knees >You think she'll boot loop soon >You hear your zipper open >Suddenly you feel Y's tongue wrap itself around your shaft as she engulfs it with her mouth >You and Y keep sucking until your both drained

Heck, the only reason I say "one drone" instead of "every drone he has ever interacted with in the story" is because Uzi, at least, doesn't seem to know what she's doing. Zen was around when Humans were common and had a semi-decent relationship with one: she has no such excuse. His pelvis is working overtime no matter which side of his story wins, and definitely no matter what he thinks about it. I'm sure he'll get used to it eventually.
>>338021 So... are Doll, Cyn, and Tessa contributing to her Chuuni, or do they act as limiters on it? If so, does that imply she would go even more over the top than the city-sized palace she currently lives in if it were just her?
>saying that like Cyn's not genuinely the most Chuuni of them all
Divinity or no, there's no excuse for scenes like pic related except showing off. Likewise, divine or no, she also probably gave herself the extra titles (the Void, the Exponential End) just for the style of it. You might be able to argue that's closer to "amusement" than "chuuni," but if there isn't some level of crossover here than I don't know what would be.

>>338038 >>338039 Cyn would definitely be a horrible enabler, so Tessa and Doll would be instrumental in tard wrangling her. Typical "Bruce Banner fighting The Hulk in his head" or "Naruto siphoning power from Kurama" shit. Things really start to change when Uzi gets pregnant, because the girls all see themselves as "mom", so the lines between personalities become blurry.

>>338049 >watching Colt ALMOST win a fight with a DD
>>338051 The bulk of the "wrangling" would probably be scenarios like that. Most of the time it's probably Tessa wrangling Uzi and Doll wrangling Cyn, given that each of them already failed the other way.
>>338066 >Tessa uses her "mom voice" on Uzi >No effect: Uzi dropkicked her mom the moment the day the two met >Doll in Cynwatch: keeping her away from discussion >Ends up "L + Betrayable + No Parents" baited into arguing for DD genocide again
Honestly the combined forces approach might be best since Cyn verbally outmanuvered Doll even in the show itself. Still, they're not exactly the "heavy hitters" here: they might be in the body, but N's in the soul. Not to mention he's arguably more socially adept then all 4 of them combined.
>>338068 Doll's situation is odd because she's the only one of the four who had no real connection to N, even by the show's end. Cyn, Tessa, and Uzi would have no problem listening to him or getting dicked down by him but it's hard to say how Doll would handle him becoming a major presence in her life unless one figures that she really just needed a dicking the whole time, in which case his presence is very welcome.
