Warhammer Non-Specific: a thread for all things Warhammer. From fantasy to 40k. Vidya to roleplaying. Post it here. Especially miniatures. If you have 'em, post 'em. Other peoples cool models is fine too.
//youtube.com/watch?v=f6hSES1tlt0 Space Hulk: Deathwing is looking pretty good. I hope that there are some Genestealer Cultists and Fallen to spice up the enemy variety.
>>201588 >Brought to you by the studio that made Mordheim. Eh...
They don't seem bad, but I really hated the level scaling involved in the single player game (outside of the specific story missions which were pre-designed), to make up for their weakness in programming the comp's tactics they just made them flat-out statistically superior to your own warriors and made it so the enemy would always be in equal numbers to your own including the same amount of special or high-ranking characters. Hardly fair in a game where only the player needed to care about the perma-injury and death, and way too blatantly artificial in feel.
Absolutely love the concept of the Total Warhammer games, and its impressive that they were so popular that GW is actually reviving the setting after their boneheaded decision to kill it off.
The only problem is I am incredibly shit at Total War games so can't actually play it.
>>418891 >>418896 This tekkie is the russian artist's original character, who they have cosplayed as at cons. Don't have the pictures handy, just remember seeing them and that the costume was really well done.
Speaking of Total Warhammer information released on some of the new factions rosters
https://www.totalwar.com/blog/total-war-warhammer-3-kislev-roster-reveal/ Kislev has alot of hybrid units as a gimmick it seems, and they've gone heavy on the bears too as expected.
https://www.totalwar.com/blog/total-war-warhammer-3-khorne-roster-reveal/ Khorne is as you expect a bunch of big red angry boys that want to melee. Some of these designs look like they've been ripped directly from Doom.

It sucks when you are excited for the release of a game but you'll never be able to really play it because of how absolutely shit you are at those kinds of games.
Total Warhammer 3 is coming out soon, looks good. Has notChinese and notRussians as human factions alongside a shitton of different demons.
>>421824 I'm sort of wary due to this being made by Owlcat, and their previous crpgs (Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous) being riddled with issues like terrible balancing, bad implementation of timed quests and ridiculous event flags to get particular outcomes.
Perhaps some of this will be rectified on this game not being based off a D&D-derivative rule system and setting.
>>421824 >>422378 Wonder if you'll get weird party member options like an Ork Freebooter, or a Kroot mercenary. Being that Rogue Traders have the clout and panache to go around with such xenos in their retinue unlike most Imperial agents its a possibility and even had rules for it in the PnP version.
The previous Pathfinder CRPGs they made had various degrees of dlc after release, some of which included new party members, so am also curious about that.
The release of Immortal Empires for TWW3 draws ever closer.
It is a pretty big deal, getting the combined worldmap with all the previous factions on it and circumstances changing by Lords having different starting positions as seen here: https://www.totalwar.com/blog/twwh3-ie-starting-positions/
>>422609 >>422434 You know what? I'd lost me shit if this Rogue Trader rpg finally gave a canon depiction to Felinids by having them make an appearance amongst the players crew.
>>422616 Be it male or female examples, either would work. Now it would be cooler if it was as a full party member but just having them show up as NPCs aboard the ship would be enough for purpose.

Information is coming out too slowly about their warhammer rpg. Something people have always wanted to see since the setting is rpe for such a game, indeed there are multiple tabletop rpgs set in it.
This one is actually alot better in its overall production, You should know this if you know 40k but its good for getting newbs into the Feel of what to expect from the rpg.
The Eldar Ranger party member has been revealed. https://roguetrader.owlcat.games/news/en/12
Not especially excited over them, like will certainly add them to the team but nothing about them specifically catches me and a Ranger is the most expected sort of space elf that would be included as playable.
If it had been a harlequin would have generated more attention from me. Or if they add an Ork or Squat to the squad.
>>423987 Wonder if a Dark Eldar party member will be on the cards. Like if you go down the route of being corrupt and chaotic the regular Eldar will leave you/die and a Dark Eldar character you interact with will replace them.
So obviously with this 40k CRPG coming to light everyone is excited, talking about it and the wider setting as derived from the PnP game it was based on. Someones shared a link to the entire run of Warhammer Monthly, an old comic anthology. Quality of individual scans variable.

Back when the works of Games Workshop actually had Soul.
Since Tau as an entire faction were created by GW solely to appeal to weebs are they eventually going to cave to pressure and make their females more like anime too? For maximum customer pandering.
This was an amusing image that seems worth sharing.
It is rather interesting when you stop to take a look at the civilizations behind the army lists in a wargame rather than just thinking about the fighters you see on the battlefield.
Amongst other things showing off the space woof woof that will be on payroll. Would have preferred a non-first founding chapter for the space marine party member honestly but out of those Space Wolf probably makes the most sense to have around.
>>424903 Probably the thing I'm most interested for in regards to the beta is seeing the extent of the character creation. Its not a D&D/Pathfinder based system with retarded amounts of class bullshit for builds but still interested in what variety is on offer.
>>425291 Not sure what the greentext is supposed to signify here, Space Marines are on average 8 feet tall, they would tower over nearly any normal human. Maybe a few basketball players would equal their height.
The new dlc/updates happening in Total Warhammer seem really cool. Really gives alot to the Dwarves and the Empire. Also Gotrek & Felix have been reworked as a pair of legendary heroes (like they should have been) with actual skill lines.
So... female custodes showed up in some 40k tv show, that's the current big news everyone is going on about? Honestly the setting went to shit long before now, round about the time they destroyed cadia and started bringing back primarchs/introducing SUPER space marines to replace the ones who were already the mary sue spotlight-hoggers of the franchise, this barely rates compared to that existing atrocity.
>>426244 Was surprised when a bunch of DoW stuff appeared in my library. Dark Crusade, Soulstorm, etc. Which I think have all been delisted from Steam now.
