Villains of /co/ should start on the 18th. Coayy should be helping me with the Qualifiers-Round 1 transition this time, but just in case I'll probably still be starting it two hours earlier than normal time like this one.

You guys better vote for Mao Mao this Mr. /co/.
I don't believe for a second this narrative that Hank is gonna have any major problems this year. He did spectacularly here, and he'll do spectacularly there, probably getting to E8 again at the very least. But I hope you don't forget to support Mao Mao when the time comes and remember his standout run here.

I thought Detective Pikachu's "campaign" was pretty funny at times, but I also wish his anon just let that go and focused on Asterix more, especially during his match with Popeye. It was pretty underwhelming how we got a thematic match-up completely naturally for once and then one of the campaigners just sort of gave up.

Are you more interested in any of these shows/comics now that the tournament is over?

Let me explain why I did not do anything for Asterix during his match for Popeye.
I did not do much for him during the first three rounds, the first match I don't think the Anon who had Sulley had any idea what to do with the match and neither did I. Then, Round 2 & 3 were against silent characters who I couldn't do stuff with; at this point he won all of his matches, but he didn't do anything. Finally, he was matched against someone not silent who did stuff during the whole tournament and it was a thematic match-up, except I did not want him to win. I didn't want him to do nothing for three rounds and beat someone who deserved to be in the Elite 8 over him (reminds me of co-op), so I did nothing. I didn't want Asterix in the Elite because I prefer my characters losing than winning undeservingly.

Sad how hard this tourney fell in the end, especially since the first rounds appeared to foreshadow a HUGE campaign for all. Luckily, based on the /v/illains tourney, it's likely the next one will more than make up for it!

I should probably keep this in mind for next time so I don't end up doing it myself.
Hank just kept having good matches though. It's something I've noticed in the tourney, if you have "friction" and you can make things fun with that it tends to net you a win.
Torres in /v/illains basically turned his matchups into audio dramas at the end in trying to tie up the opponent into a bigger thing, so that's a good example.

I could maybe try some writefagging of the E8 interacting with each other, but I don't know some of them well enough so I don't think I could do it justice. The stream is probably good enough anyway since it was a fun way to cap off the tournament.

The Walten Files as the main story goes isn't the focus for the campaigns I'm planning to do. However, Martin Walls did some extra videos which he has labelled as "not canon" in the meantime for the next new chapter. These are The Mysterious House and Boozoo's Ghosts, the first is where Pumpkin Rabbit comes from. I'd recommend giving these two a watch when you have time, there's also a funny fandub out there that will serve as inspiration.

No. For Heroes/Villains I asked Samaritanon if Taiwanese puppets would technically be /co/ as long as they were produced there.
I haven't done the same with Coayy, and NSA's ruleset is firmly "Western /co/ material", hence why I asked Samaritanon if the laxer rules would include that or not.

Yeah but that's kind of a moot point when Scooby made it to round 4 by doing absolutely fuckall. It's basically confirmed that those Round 3-4 runs were entirely because the randomizer blessed them. They do well against nobodies (because why would you vote for someone who not even the nominator cares about) but crumple like wet paper when forced against anyone of actual note.
Actual stepping stones. Even if they reached the elite 8 they'll probably just get shit on years later because "they stole a spot from this guy who deserved it more!"

The Grox and Ruby's campaigns for me at least were good enough to make me vote against Eggman and Optimus despite liking the latter more so it can change minds and it can take years to get into an elite eight even in side tournaments.

Not really? Grimace and the Energizer Bunny, for example, are pretty well-known for commercial mascots especially when compared to those who made it in the bracket (Stardust, Papa G, Calamity Jane, etc.). If anything, advertisements doing poorly feel more like spitevoting than an actual measurement of popularity.

I feel bad for being a sore loser once the results for rounds 3 and 4 dropped because the stream made me remember how good their source material is, so sorry for that. Hopefully those two can do well again in Mr. /co/.

I'll try and come back for Mr. /co/ to do stuff for Kuzco and Space Ghost again, although I don't think I can be as active due to life stuff and wanting to focus more on drawfagging. I would like to do the E8 stream again there since it was a fun time. I might be too busy to do it for Ms. /co/, but we'll see. Hopefully my Mr. /co/ campaigns can be decent. I kinda felt out of my element in this tournament since I only ever participated in the /v/ tournaments, so I'm glad people liked my stuff here. Maybe I'll start drawing my guys for Mr. /co/ so I can produce some good stuff there, and because I'm already drawing stuff for two of my King /v/ guys.

It was the opposite for me. Last King would have been my first /v/ tournament, but I was a bit nervous and my ​mains didn't end up making the King bracket last year so I decided for the time being not to participate then the /v/ side tournament happened and I decided to start with that.

Kinda sucks that was your first one. While I think people can exaggerate the overall quality of it, it definitely wasn't as good as the first three years. I'm looking forward to it this year though cause there's some characters I really want to make OC for, namely Ayin, Edgeworth, and Kiryu, so hopefully it can be a fun time.

Kahn, Cotton, or Dale could be fun or could be nothing. After Hank just won, none of them are making it past round 3 and will possibly lose much earlier if people don't think they fit.

Popeye was an elite eight snub and was the closest to beating Carl before finals. Bluto doesn't have the same status. I don't think he will do nearly as well as Popeye did.

They're definitely not as good as Mao Mao, so I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't nominated for this one too.

Lex is my top pick for Villains so he'll be plenty active. To my knowledge, he only ever qualified in 2018 and didn't do well, so I hope he can do better in Villains.
