Posting my humble runner-up tier list
>Should've won
Raven
>Preferred to the winner
Hank Hill, Carl, Eris
>As good as the winner
Daffy, Queen Tyr'ahnee
>Good but not as good as the winner
Starfire, Grim, Jucika, Kermit the Frog
>Would've sucked
Captain America, Johanna, Shirley the Medium, Zim (without the NSA thing I'd say Zim is as good as Skeletor)

This, it's not just about creating the legend but also about building upon that legend for years to come
Think about it, your character when he wins is in a position of power and status above literally every other character (besides the other winners) so you can bend the candidates to his/her will and have them curry favor with the winner in exchange for support or whatever. Or you can just continue making OC of your character using his status as a ruler of /co/lympus
Also Zorak has posters that interact with the threads from time to time, same with Johnny Bravo in Ms. /co/

11. Fang: 57.1%
12. Frankie: 57%

Interestingly, Spider-Man is statistically the strongest /co/ tourney winner since the early years.

Yeah, last year was the exception primarily from NSA's shenanigans. Hell, despite that it was still a great time until the losers finals happened. Might be a toss-up if this year is more course correction or more of a weird year, but either way I'd say it will at least be a decent time bar anything unexpected.

King is incredibly fun, but you got to know what you're getting into with it. The chaotic reception is absolutely justified for it.

Queen of /v/ is like Mr. /co/lympus but with waifus. I'd argue it's actually even more non-confrontational than Mr. /co/ is outside of a couple rare outliers like the aforementioned losers finals/grand finals shitstorm that NSA caused

I wouldn't say King of /v/ is Ms. /co/ with husbandos though because they have the polar opposite attitude of Ms. /co/; Ms. /co/ takes everything way too fucking seriously and is filled with bitter faggots spiting and falseflagging each other with increasingly autistic mind games, whereas King of /v/ doesn't take anything seriously at all and has a collective IQ of like 70, the only thing they care about is whatever is most "hype" and whatever memey funpost makes them laugh the most at any given moment

I could ask this in the wiki thread, but might as well throw the question here while people are still reacting to the tournaments just ending for this year. The 2025 pages are set up in advance on the wiki, which means now would be a nice time to finally have some new art featured in the main infobox for the 2024 iterations. Right now it's just the /co/malgamations, which were previously there as options before the actual tournaments began.

If anyone here wants to go through the galleries and give opinions on what can be used for each tournament, go for it! Got a few in mind otherwise, but this could always help narrow it down.

I don't think it'll be a big deal as far as Marvel as a whole goes. It more likely to raise a stigma about capes in general the next year. But in the long run Spiderman winning will probably only effect other Spiderman characters, namely JJJ, who prior to Spidey's surprise run this year was the strongest consistent comic rep.

This feels like an inevitability given how much people focus on winner trends now, however I really doubt it will actually do anything to tank any unrelated cape's chances. The kind of people claiming to spitevote Spider-man over being capeshit weren't likely to vote for Doctor Doom or Rorschach either.
Speaking of the latter, it was high time he finally qualified as someone who could have easily won a Mr. /co/ tournament held in the late 2000s-early 2010s.

Raven vs. Toph? Though granted they've faced twice before and both times Toph narrowly won. Maybe this time it goes to Raven. Either one would be very fitting as an 8th winner considering their old powerhouse status and history of getting fucked over too. Also Eris would be very appropriate, closing things out with the whole chaos symbolism of the last 8 years.
Mr. is obviously Hank or jack, but a Looney Tunes character finally taking it like Daffy or, perhaps even better, Donald breaking the notorious rut would be cool too.

It’s kinda a pointless battle. Of course it won’t affect you if you are not on incognito mode(this “update” pretty much killed browsing there casually on that mode unless you really want to go through that process all the time) which previously was restricting users from posting images on that format(a pointless endeavor) however the catch is that if you delete your history you go through it again. So basically the website now forbids users from privately browsing there, all in the course of a single year I’ve never seen another website get so elitist in a losing battle against spammers. All they had to do was make more boards to filter them out, not punish the rest of the userbase. The moderation team is completely out of touch with everyone else. The last straw for me would be them (god forbid) having them put an email verification on the captcha EVERY TIME YOU POST, that would be my catalyst to finally getting the hell of that website for good( either just browse casually or find an alt-Chan not influenced by sketchy stuff)

Also despite the narrative it was really in 2022 that /tnt/ actually took off to prominence. After the 2020 Tag Team threads there was nothing for half a year until some casual Ms. /co/ hype thread.
Then there was a spike in people coming here after the tourneys almost got banned in late 2021 and /tnt/ got created.
Mid 2022 saw Temp create the first full blown side tournament, the first consistently running off-season threads also started in 2022. By early 2023 side tournament fever fully took off.

Despite things technically starting off here in 2020 there wasn't an off-season presense at all until mid-2021 and there wasn't a well established distinct ongoing vibe until the tail end of 2022/early 2023.

I believe the exact thing that made /tnt/ it's own off site "subculture" unit or at least perceived so was its reaction to Jack Garland as a winner (the earliest campaigner/majority voting value arguments between what the main board liked and more tourney autstic people) and the two team tourneys (tag team being officially just moved here and co-op from the outset being set here, hence establishing this place as an independent activities and breeding ground).

I think a huge symptom of this is Tag Team's schedule being moved. Despite King of /v/ starting the same year /co/ had zero issue holding 'Two's a /c/rowd' in December because /co/ and /v/'s tournament culture was seen as completely different so who cared?

This was also fine in 2020, but by 2021 several people wanted to 'make room' for the /v/ tournaments despite Temp refusing and by 2022 the move was completed and Tag Team Tournament 2022 happened in January 2023.
Huge sign of the shifting culture, though how much of this is because of /tnt/ and how much is just because both boards started sharing hosts in 2021 is hard to say. When /co/ and /v/ were completely seperate no one cared, like how /mlp/ has their tournaments overlap with Mr. /co/ and Queen of /v/ and no one cares. Due to all those factors now enough people crossover it's seen as an issue.

There was one Ms. /co/ thread by a dedicated Erisfag started in June 2021 and that was pretty much it. Most of the off-season discussion still happened on stealth threads on /co/, that's where Team FART was coined.

>/tnt/ was first created in reaction to fuse getting ms. /co/ 2021 banned actually.
People wouldn't have known to use Plus4chan without that prior link, and you could also argue had Tag Team been cancelled in 2021 like it almost was it might have died out anyway, but the 2021 drama cemented this site as a thing in tournaments even if it took another year to develop. That drama also unified /co/ and /v/ hosts which changed the way people thought about the tournaments especially once the wiki got going.

The whole '/co/ vs /tnt/' debacle this year actually reminds me somewhat of the 'RPer Vs Anti-RPer Vs Compromise' thing we had in 2021. Anti-RP mostly one at least in Ms. /co/, Mr. /co/ was a compromise that's slowly crept back into RP territory. That's also why I don't think any future winner will ever 'feel' on the level of Jenny. Jenny got a ton of off-season discussion on /co/ and it boosted her series coverage on the board a lot, there were a ton of extra MLAATR threads made and promoted by that.

Johnny was hurt by the circumstances of his win albeit he also got a notable discussion bump, Spinel's was fucked for obvious reasons, and Kronk was already a meme and didn't have enough material so not much change there. Monarch's boost was short lived as Fuse was already causing trouble and the cancellation boost was already there. Since then it just hasn't really been viable.

Jenny being voted the best /co/ girl in 2018 was discussed all over the board for quite some time, it's why votership ballooned so much between 2018 and 2019 even excluding the rigged Spinel stuff, so many people learned about it in the off-season. Probably also why numbers peaked in 2020 for the most part, since then there's no longer that factor.

The other 3 early winners all had other factors holding them back and no one else afterwards will ever be able to reap the same rewards as Jenny by sweeping /co/. Jenny is unique in that regard.

Even if /tnt/ is here forever we really have to re-split the hosting duties, it's too risky for a number of reasons. Along with the cultural issues and burnout, it raises risk. One bad host in 2018 effected just Mr. /co/ since Ms. had a different host(they were originally unaffiliated) and /v/ hadn't started yet. NSA being corrupt destroyed the credible of both /co/s and both /v/ tourmaments and damaged Tag Team thanks to Ghost/Domino.

Mr. and Ms. /co/ should have their own hosts apart from King and Queen. Tag Team and CO-OP should probably have their own hosts too.

I wouldn't mind King and Tag Team overlapping again since I really doubt they share much of the same userbase, but you'd need either a new host to run Tag Team or split up the current host team now that it's the same couple hosts running every main and side tournament.

That would require an SMS aggregator, which is more cost on my end, and a near certainty that nobody would bother voting. OAuth would be as far as I'm willing to go. Last time I checked you used google forms to create polls and that one required a google account, so it wouldn't be too different.

But the simple fact that you'd need to log in to plus4chan with your google account would already alienate a lot of people.

If these tourneys taught us anything about the site is that the absolutely last thing anyone in the 4chan moderation team wants to do is their job
They dont want to get involved in it, they don't ever want to have to do a slither more of it
The main reason I remember hosts talking why mods dislike these after talking in their IRCs isnt even muh off topic(which you can barely make an argument for when Death Battle threads get the pass) but that oh it just gives us more work to do

This is only the second set of tournaments after /tnt/ fully came into it's own around the time of Tag Team 2022 and I'm not surprised there was so much 'Anti-/tnt/ Anti-/v/ what is tournament culture' discussion. There was a decent bit of it in 2022 even before things really got crazy here and it was only silenced in 2023 because of how much the weird results and NSA slow drip hogged the discussion. There's going to need to be some sort of reckoning or agreement between the people on /co/ who want the 2020 status quo back and no side tournaments and the people who want more side tournaments and continued /tnt/ stuff. Plus the whole issue of whether or not /v/ and /co/ should share hosts which NSA put a spotlight on.

I can't help but think the work excuse is bullshit. Theres a lot of pests running about on /co/ that seem to almost have immunity for the shit they pull. Jannies and mods are faggots, plain and simple.

Also, finding a good host is definitely a problem, and while vetting is gay it might be justified considering the type of tourney vultures that are lurking for the entire week. I don't know about /v/ but we don't have the same leeway of taking the reins of the tournament like what happened in the early years, sounds like a good way to get the boot for good.
>>160216
I said it in the late mr. /co/ threads during meta hours, but linking to /tnt/ in the google forms might be a good idea to bridge the gap between 4chan and pluschan. Like dropping a friendly reminder that feedback and discussion off hours can be taken there without too much hassle.

Yeah as much as Coup Hawks like to cite it, the sort of impromptu change from within /co/ unplanned that happened in Ms. /co/ 2019 and to a lesser extent Mr. /co/ 2018 isn't really something that could happen today. Albeit it's hard to say for 100% since NSA was such a gigantic liar about what the mods said and obviously it was in her interests to surpress that. If things ever reach 2022 level tensions again who knows, but in general that's not gonna happen.

I believe out of the current 3 hosts none of them are /co/ originals. Two of them were Tag Team hosts on here first and foremost and this is where they made a name for themselves and the final one originated from /v/. I doubt that helped all the drama this year.

This. We do not have a single host who made their name known on /co/ originally anymore. Good news is that means there's time to do the splitting plan since /v/ is probably getting more of the current blood. Maybe get two hosts to do /v/, two to do /co/, and two to do Tag Team and Co-Op. So we'd need to find two for /co/.

I think the fact Ms. /co/ got a late after-party thread this year without a single issue and Mr. /co/'s problems were due entirely to an intentional troublemaker means at the very least the specific super strict time limits were BS. This mostly matters in the event of a Muffet Scenario or something like 2022's furryrig E8. If a couple hours into a Round it turns out some massive screw up happened or someone was blatantly rigged there should be the ability to go back and undo it. With NSA's super strict methods Captain America would have won 2018.

It's actually quite a bit different, as I recall, from when I was researching on it.
Google's OAuth, last I checked, will give you the user's email. Even if you don't ask for it, the authentication oid can at any time be used to get the email, and maybe some other info.
Accordingly, on using it Google will blare to the user "this dude's getting your email, you fine with that?"
Forms doesn't give the forms maker the email unless specified. So it's more similar to when NSA turned on getting emails on vote than regular ones, and we know how that went in popularity.
Some other OAuths are better, like Xitters, which let you get just the token and nothing else, but I don't see anons wanting to make accounts there just to vote.

It's weird to look back at the first couple years to find out how they actually were rather than the mythologized memory-centric version people have in their heads
>Using OC for the thumbnails only happened starting in Ms. /co/ 2020. OP's Ms. /co/ and TourneyGuy's Mr. /co/ both followed the format of using the logo for the Nominations and Qualifiers OP header and then the Bracket Image for everything else. Stats in 2019 deviated a bit by not making a logo and just using art of Johnny from the previous year or screencaps, but once the rounds started it was all bracket images. Ms. /co/ 2020 went all in on OC with Bracket pictures only occasionally showing up and no logo.

>People were really hesistant about cross-comparing Mr. and Ms. early on. In 2018 and 2019 a ton of emphasis was put on them being seperate unrelated events, and even in 2020 with Stats running both there was still a lot of that going on in the threads. It wasn't until after Mr. /co/ 2020 and Ms. /co/ 2021 that attitude changed/left.

When using Google Forms, Google will automatically check your account data so you can only vote once, it's just not visible to the user since they are already logged on. The only way to protect polls would be to do the same, have user accounts that you have to log in to. OAuth would be just there to make it a one-click solution, since everyone already needs to have a Google account to use the Google Forms polls.

And yes, I know it gives away lots of stuff (it's designed so you can create individual accounts on any forum/social media/reddit site by one-clicking), and yes, I would use it for that.

So you can see why I didn't build a voting system yet.

How often have people actually claimed this about Ms. 2018? When it's called the best it usually has to do with having had the best results and least baggage (most "pure"). Like with a lot of Mr. /co/'s people will look through the event as a whole with rose-tinted glasses cause the end results were cheery and agreeable.

Zone’s last real animation outside of the ZTV bit on Youtube from 2 years back was that Ankha animation that blew up on Tiktok, and it wasn’t even originally his, he just remade an animation that was made by Minus-8, his last fully original porn work was the one with that goth girl from Ghostbusters, and from what I’ve heard he’s mentioned a few times that it put him in a bad economic spot due to it being a flop, all he does now is stream as a V-Tuber on Twitch and occasionally make a Zone-Tan drawing on Patreon, whatever fans he still has left are either nostalgiafags or Dominatorfags still desperately hoping he’ll finish that animation (by the by, said animation has been “worked on” longer than Wander over Yonder was on air, so he’s probably never finishing it)

Well, King /v/ 2021 was a product of its time. It was good when it went but over time the effects of time have shown itself.
You're right that Batter is becoming controversial but not because he's dull or bad but because he's falling into obscurity. Not many people know OFF aside from RPGmaker autists or oldfags and it has widely fallen out of public view. There's barely a single thread dedicated to OFF in /v/ per month while other winners get several if not hundreds in cases.

As for King /v/ 2021, it is something that you HAD TO BE THERE to truly know what it felt like. Words really couldn't describe how much thread activity was up by, not even the OC because viewing it afterwards vs when it was being created are two different experiences. The funposting, hype and interactions were off the roof and there isn't a tournament that has yet reached that level of funposting present in King /v/ 2021.

As >>160515 basically says, the winner in that case has grown separate from the tourney itself. KoV 2021 was unique in that it became kind of a spectacle in itself rather than a "King of /v/" tourney speaking, and Batter wasn't entirely being voted on for being Batter but for an epic meta narrative he represented. A trend that some people now want to shake off, or at least tone back.

Heroes vs Villains was fun because the narrative didn't shift the results, the results shifted the narrative. Mr. /co/'s voterbase probably wouldn't complain about another villain.
The problem with the schizo debacle is that it's now a stigma against characters who shouldn't be associated with Batter/Grimm or the narrative vs Eggman they had. I can't really envision someone like Isaac Clarke or Jacket riding off that kind of hype to win. Characters like AM aren't schizos at all.

Exactly. It feels very un-/co/ compared to some random Eastern European comic or, if still on the big 2, someone like JJJ who has long had better success in tournaments, is very known but isn’t a universal superstar for even non-capeshit watchers, and is an “alternate” different approach to a comic representative that appeals to /co/ ideals
Spider-Man isn’t a bad pick at all, but for a first comic winner it feels a bit normalfag compared to what I expect from /co/. It feels like if the first animation winner was SpongeBob instead of Bravo

Rorschach is a legitimately great pick, and now that he has qualified one of the few examples across the main four tourneys of a three dimensional character with a fully fledged psyche. But there's no need to be sore about him not being the first comic winner, this was his first year and has just started building any momentum and nobody said he can't be the first DC winner.

Spider-man’s history is so sporadic for example you can’t possibly classify it in a tier
The “powerlevel” for remaining contestants is like 5 on the elite tier (Aku, Courage, Jack, Hank, Daffy), probably 20-25 characters on the next tier and then the rest below, but you can’t “midcard” anyone when someone like an EEnE character can be midcard but has as realistic of a chance to break out and win next year then 3x Elite 8 characters Jack and Hank do

Serious analysis of C.H.A.D.S.?

>>160863
>Courage
Unquestionably one of the strongest characters ever in Mr. /co/. He's either made final four or lost to another semi-finalist in the past, and he obviously got screwed over in the first tournament by Cap (who only got rigged over by a single vote, something unique to him that year). Still, for how often he's gone that far now I do have to wonder if he's in a weird limbo of being more a consistent honor roll than really batting for valedictorian. Not counting him out and he could even be a great year nine winner depending on what happens next time. Still, you can't ignore how he's had several close calls by now.

>Hank
Easily one of the strongest tournament runners EVER. I do think he would have fit well in 2021 had Grievous not had a very powerful run that year. Now? Yeah, he could still pull off a winning run. Main catch I can see would be him being another "easy honor" pick like Courage, but 1) he's an actual past finalist and 2) resting in 5th last time could be the slight break he needs to go all-out next year.

>Aku
Yeah, he's the Shego of this list. Great villain, no question, but he's just way weaker than the others here now. His last two years haven't been all that impressive, and by now I think Jack has won out as the character from his show people would actually want to see win.

>Daffy
Main thing saving Daffy is that he lost to the champion this year. I'm sure part of that was him hitting a poorly-timed slump in the threads that round, but the general point does stick. Daffy was a more reasonable opponent to take down first two years, but soon as 2020 hit he's proven to be mighty strong afterwards. People clearly love the guy, though it remains to be seen if it's enough to get him back to finals. There's definitely some people ready to do it, but it's a little too soon to say. 2022 was clearly too early for that: not only did people clearly want an Adult Swim winner, but consecutive finalists are just rare by design here.

>>160865
>Jack
Frontrunner to win next year, though absolutely not a sure shot. Still, his one early loss thus far was a single vote to DAFFY that was deemed significant on how it impacted the tournaments for various reasons. He would have lost to the CHAMPION every other run had Cap not pulled his shenanigans back in 2018. Jack is effectively the true first runner-up, and damn has he proven that honor was earned.

To put it simpler, I'd rank them like this in terms of power:

When it came to former players, skeletor used to easily be a heavy hitter. Genie and hades are lower midcarder, uncle ruckus and jack spicer are early jobbers, Scrooge mcduck is either a lower or higher midcarder(likely the former). Utominum? He was lucky to reach round four back in 2019 but he hasn’t recovered since with his last appearance 3 years ago losing to Garfield at round 1 and probably won’t ever recover

Next year might be Hank's best shot at ever winning, with the fabled last Elite 8 spot and how he's easily the best performing character of the remainings
The thing is that KOTH reboot is coming out, and that'll be a time before it debuts but it'll be known about so might get some word. And after it starts airing it might really alter things for him, if it's surprisingly great he's going to be unstoppable with his current track record. If it's bad, however, like bad bad to the point of ruining the characters like Clone High, then it might permanently tank his status in these tournaments enough to never get to actually winning it. So next year might be the best shot, but also might be the last shot

Interesting observation. I don't think it will be enough to tank him forever unless it's BAD, which would surprise me. The original run of KOTH will always exist after all. It's also possible that Hank himself will still be golden while other characters aren't treated the best. I'm extremely curious on Bobby for example. Obviously he'll be aged up, so I'm curious where they go with that. Could be great like the example >>160948 shared, or could be a letdown.

It's really up to subjective opinion who the top performer is, it universally comes down to Hank, Jack and Courage with Daffy sometimes creeping in. I think Hank has just been an overall better performer with better results regardless and more opportunity for success
Jack does have that head to head win though, and that might play significance in deciding. I can see Hank and Jack flipping (though I go with Hank) for top performer, but Courage is definite 3rd, Daffy is 4th, and I guess Aku is still fifth but it seems he's been declining so he might be replaced soon by Grim or Bugs who I consider 6th and 7th

Shego was kind of an afterthought to FARTS, similar to how Jack is an afterthought here. In terms of performance he's similar to neither, because he's one of the most powerful of the characters listed, while Shego gets her ass handed to her by E8 contenders and Azula has probably always been overestimated.

I thought it was weird too, but didn't think it was worth bringing up mid-tournament. It's especially strange to me because those anons were already /co/ regulars, they weren't there because of NSA (it's why they were sharing contact info to begin with). Mr has the strongest roster, but also the strongest divide between the top crop and everyone else. The only exception was Zorak who was the representative for the peak year of campaigning, the rest has always been part of that high performing group of around 30 characters
The winner is always from that group, and they are dwindling a bit now. What’s unpredictable is who is exactly going to break out. Spider-man was one of them but you can’t predict him and Kermit were going to be the breakouts of the group

Idk, I don't see how Mr. is any different from the other tournaments in this respect. Spiderman wasn't even included in this supposed high performing group or at least majority of people didn't behold him that way, he had a somewhat lucky Round 4 run from 2022 and that's about it. Spider-Man was a fucking weird character in these. He went from a potential cape winner who lost round 4 in 2022, jobbed round 1 to Mr. fucking Krabs in 2023, and ended up taking the crown in 2024, and that's not getting into the Twig stuff.

speaking of capeshit doing poorly, i think the real reason they fell off so hard is because 2020 brought in a large surge of casuals and cartoonfags who don't read comics. and over the past few years most of them have either gotten bored and left or they've started getting into superheroes. (i myself am the latter.)
it took seven years for us to have our first capeshit winner, but i don't think we'll have to wait another seven for our second.

People objectively said they thought one of those non-E8s upper mid card were going to win.
