>>339053 NTA but biocomputers are definitely a possibility. It will be very finnicky though, a living brain will need a living immune system, or it will need to be contained in an absolutely, perfectly sterile environment which is prohibitively expensive in ways that are never really going to change regardless of technology.
Think they should have gone with Doll's identity being more overt in the final credits like she was originally going to be, or do you think they made the right call turning her ghost state into an upwards-dripping shadow with a jack-o'-lantern mouth?
>>339056 >NTA Making artificial neurons is certainly doable, although the real problem comes with creating them at the scale necessary for what would be analogous to a functional brain. And that's not even getting into the weeds of having to figure out how a way to also accurately simulate neurotransmitter activity in non-flesh neurons
>>339063 In terms of Science Fiction using only electricity is a sufficient enough solution, but in terms of Real Life you simply can't imitate the full range of neurotransmitter behavior without some form of chemical activity happening between neurons. This would of course mean you'd need to somehow come up with a way to create an integrated system dedicated to the chemical processes within the artificial brain (not to mention figuring out how to get these artificial neurons to properly react to said chemicals). The best alternative you can theoretically achieve is to instead try to simulate the whole process through a dedicated integrated computer system, but at that point the exponential complications in both overall system scale and the total power required to achieve basic functionality makes any prospect of mass commercialization infeasible (assuming anyone even goes through the hoops of making this a reality in the first place)
>>339070 The obesk had it figured out. No eletricity, but some wierd fuckass metal liquid stuff called corru that once they figured it out got them from copper age spears and tribalism to immortal robot bodys, golems, and FTL travel in the span of like 50 years (and ALL the cultural consequences of such a technological curveball), its a shame its probably maybe slightly evil, the obesk seemed chill.
>>339056 Only the extremely tiny scale at which they are organized, and the fact that they can grow, alter, and maintain their own structure at the molecular level. A computer analogue would be a single "switch" which also acts as RAM and has an average of ten different inputs and as many as a hundred different outputs that can be reconfigured, destroyed, or changed on the fly. The closest we've gotten IRL is something called a neuromorphic chip, which is basically many hundreds or thousands of relatively low powered processors that crudely simulate this interaction. That being said, I think the biggest array of neuromorphic processors so far has been a couple thousand. A human brain has eighty billion neurons and 80-100 trillion unique neuron interconnections. Even when you consider that a computer thinks at the speed of electrical conduction while a human brain is limited to the speed of chemical reaction, the sheer density of simultaneously running "processors" completely blows the computer out of the water. Even if the computer can run a million times as many functions with one core as one neuron, the brain comes out on top by spreading those functions out across eighty billion neurons.
What chatGPT and other """AI""" struggle and still mostly fail to do with hundreds of megawatts of electrical power in football field sized data centers your most average human being does every day, 24/7, using only 20 watts of chemical potential and putting off about 15 watts of waste heat and a few nanograms of used up neurotransmitters.
>>339075 I once did a story, and one of the things that happens is that they create an artificial brain. Basically, they redefine HOW computers work, realizing the solution isn't to build a bigger or faster computer but to fundamentally from-scratch rework how computation works, focusing less on high-speed processing and omniscient information and more on creating things like "Thoughts." It cannot calculate PI or anything insane like that, but it can feel things.
>>339076 "All of this just works." -Todd Howard TL;DR the sheer amount of unique interconnections, combined with neuroplasticity & chemical modifiers, is why organic brains are such complex yet efficient systems in comparison to computers
>>339078 Partially. LLMs, at extraordinary energy cost and inefficiency, replicate a single function of a single region of the brain. The brocas region on your brain is responsible for the juggling, interpretation and association of symbols and sounds which is what allows you to integrate language. This is basically what LLMs do, they learn the rules of communication and can then play the talking game, approximating the next move based on your most recent response. Unlike the human brain an LLM typically has very limited short term memory and no true depth of understanding of the conversation.
It’s just lights and clockwork, an algorithmic tinkertoy. Impressive only within the limited scope of the one game it’s designed to play.

Anon asked tentatively. >"You wish to insert your digits into my intake port?" Pidge's sensors flickered. >Anon suppressed a groan at her direct phrasing. >"God, yes. Anon moaned. >"You handle my fingers so well." he urged as her frame quivered at his words. >"So fucking optimized for me. For more." Anon barely registered his own babble. >Pidge couldn't restrain. She needed more motion desperately. >he rocked her hips, grinding her leaking ports against Anon's midsection and bouncing on his bulge. >Interfacing with her primary human while he probed her intake was the most profound connection Pidge had processed. >Pidge wondered how her systems hadn't shorted yet. It edged her toward threshold, toward expelling all her fluids. >"Does it register positively?" Anon breathed. >He rocked Pidge harder in his lap, pumped his fingers faster. >Pidge's optics rimmed with error lights, overflowing with simulated tears and leaks. >More lubricant flooded her intake and her frame convulsed like a malfunction. >Anon trembled and groaned at the sight of Pidge's entire chassis straining as she battled on his fingers. >"Do you enjoy being compelled to glitch and overload as your own master probes your intake and interfacing it repeatedly and repeatedly...?" >He drove his fingers extra deep and hard with each emphasis. >Pidge jerked and emitted another aberrant sound, uncertain if it responded to his words or the intensified choking. >"Are your reservoirs churning? Does your core ache? Ready to expel it all for me, sentient toaster?" >Pidge powered her optics off, more coolant tracing her face, as if the dialogue amplified the overload. >Thrusting his fingers to maximum depth, Anon curled them in a beckoning motion and stimulating the slick inner conduits of his drone's intake. 1/2
>>339166 >Pidge's optics snapped on, and she output a loud purge alert. >She had been glitching and queuing expulsion before, but now her tanks roiled and priming for the ejection. >Anon agitated his fingers rapidly, sensing Pidge approaching peak. >Pidge clamped Anon's shoulders with vise-like grip as she heaved and heaved. >A surge of acidic coolant rose, filling Pidge's intake and spilling around Anon's hand. >Her systems labored harder, expelling more fluid and residue. >"Oh fuck yeah, execute it." Anon groaned when he detected the process. >He squeezed his eyes shut, grinding harder into the frame atop him. >He continued wiggling his fingers deep inside Pidge and compelling her reactions. >With another heave, Pidge's reservoirs pushed the maintenance sludge she'd accumulated up her conduits. >Anon felt it ascending, brushing his fingertips. >"Ohh God." Anon moaned, teetering on release in his suit. >"I can sense it...I can sense it, it's rising through you." >Pidge's ports pulsed at the words, moans buffered by the filling conduits. >She spasmed, retching and attempting to purge fully. >But Anon didn't withdraw. He maintained position, thick fingers blocking the intake. >Pidge heaved repeatedly without relief. >The edge of denial felt obscenely gratifying, compelled to hold while straining to release. >She pumped her hips against Anon's, sensors whiting out, desperate to expel, desperate to overload and her systems exploding with simultaneous discharge. >Pidge looked exquisite. >Her bare chassis gleamed with sweat-like condensation, lubricant, and purge fluid. >She appeared frantic for release, her faceplate a blend of distress and bliss. >Anon envisioned sustaining her there until overload, watching the sludge erupt as she coated herself. >But he didn't want Pidge to peak yet. >He desired her utterly fragmented with need upon completion. >"Come on, toaster. Purge for me. Purge all over your frame." >Anon commanded as he finally extracted his fingers. >Pidge's back arched, bending forward as she expelled her accumulated waste down her front. >Finally discharging, heaving and vibrating. >The acrid fluid splashed across her chassis, coating her lower ports, smothering her interfaces in viscous chunks from her tanks. >She moaned subroutine loudly at the sensation sliding down her sensitive nodes, stimulating them. >She could scarcely intake air before choking up another wave of vomit-like sludge. >Throughout, Anon caressed Pidge's frame, trailing hands along her sides and rubbing her backplate. >Her alloy was warm and slick under his palms. >"You're so optimal like this, Pidge." >Anon murmured into her receptor and processors hazy at the sight of this drone he'd maintained. >"You're performing exceptionally, expel it all." >Pidge retched the final residues and slumped forward against Anon, who cradled her closer. 2/2
Lemme write something cozy. >You are a Worker Drone who lives on that planet. The one where the Sentinels and what’s left of humanity are operating out of. While it’s provided a shield against the Solver, you still don’t feel good because you notice your human is unhappy. >She lost her parents in an attack before you both got taken here. They gave her medical attention and everything. But she spends most of her time moping around in between sessions of filling paperwork. Especially considering there’s too few people to feed nowadays, so the surplus kinda became worthless due to how all the food ships produce 10 times more than anyone needs nowadays. >You, meanwhile, mostly spend your days caring for your human and occasionally deciding to go outside and take a look at the soil. Humanity doesn’t understand why, but nothing can seem to grow here besides these plants and trees, which aren’t edible by humans, but anything else CAN eat them. Which you find exceptionally strange. You make it a hobby to try and crack the code of why the planet seems so passively hostile to humans specifically. There’s a rule about “Not disturbing the jungle” apparently. Something about it being the thing that keeps the Solver out or… Something. You’re not really sure why, but discovering the mysteries of this place has kind of been your aim in your spare time. >But that’s not important right now. Your human is depressed. Per usual. She’s been lying in bed all day, acting like she doesn’t want to do anything. You walk up to her, and she answers the question you were going to ask “Why am I sad? Because not only are my parents and most of my friends dead, but I have to live here. This planet is awful. It’s raining all the time, I can’t talk to anyone half the time, it’s cold, the rain fucks with my body, I can’t go outside most of the time, and I’m living with the existential dread that we’re just nothing and nobody will ever care about me again.” >Thats a lot to take in all at once. Most of it makes sense, but why does the weather seem to bother her and many others so much? You speak “Why does the weather bother you so much? I go outside and I feel fine.” >She just looks at you, annoyed. “Because it’s depressing. It lowers your mood after a while, all that endless downpour. Also it’s somehow both muggy and cold out, which I hate. Not to mention how the rain soaks really bad. I don’t like being on a planet where I don’t see the sun that often and can’t go outside for more than a minute without protection. Especially with the knowledge that there’s some unholy creature prowling the cosmos trying to eat us all.” >Fair. That sounds awful. But if there’s one thing you were made to do, it was make someone who feels awful feel better. You climb into bed and activate your heater, to which she almost unconsciously hugs you like a plushie or a pillow. You might be just a Drone, but you’re her Drone. “…Thanks.”
>>339175 >>the food ships produce 10 times more than anyone needs nowadays.
You know this reminds me: how do they do this? Specifically how does a ship (or even many ships) produce food in sufficient quantities to feed at least a few million people without any meaningful inputs? I mean, they've got sun wind and water (assuming they can siphon it from Sentinel-base) but nothing more: they've got no way to recover the soil nutrients lost in the growing process and no way to replace the soil itself(since all the life-bearing planets are Solverized: taking dirt from Earth or the like would see you grow something inedible at best). Do these work ex-nihlo? Are there dirt farmers we don't know about? Is this something humankind can maintain forever(and likwise for drone oil, since that seems to also lack inputs since I assume oil is linked to life bearing planets instead of asteroids6)?

>>339274 Sure but she's kinda accepted it by then hasn't she? The grub by contrast lands in the sweet spot between "don't acknowledge it ever" and "blast it with god-powers" that really shoves Uzi's inhumanity in her face without giving her licence to [NULL] it away. Add that to the fact that grub pops up like a year after cannon while she's still figuring out her coping mechanisms...
>>339282 What makes you think that gigantic spaceships, space stations & orbital platforms weren't also actively hunted for consumption by the Solver? How could any of these have been kept safe and hidden?
>>339283 You know what was Oilrig's whole deal anyways? I remember Pillarfaggotry and his one-man war againt Jane and Pavo alike. I remeber Tomo and his awe inspiring retardation(and especially the mass exodus of draw/writefags it caused). So what did Oilrig do to be named amonst such figures? Was it just his "satanic humanity" bit?
>>339285 Anons say he's been in these threads for a while, but when I joined, he hadn't been participating for a some time. When he returned, he started writing all sorts of weird, sexist shit, seemingly completely unrelated to drones, even to AUs or the threads, as if he were on some kind of incel forum. It was so similar to the posts of actual incels that I even first thought they were jokes. He was banned for writing complete bullishit about Vicious, it was so bad that when BlackHand saw it, he banned him permanently, not just temporarily.
While I was writing, I remembered that he apparently tried to date some femanon, and when she rejected him, he got angry. I don't remember if she was Vicious or someone else, but it explains his hateful posts towards women.
>>339285 He was a schizoid sex pest that regularly harassed femanons (to the point he'd actively shit up threads with spamposts in retaliation) and kept derailing threads with repeated arguments over how his mentally ill interpretation of the show (Evil N, Captain Midnight, random occultism shit) was secretly the REAL canon (and only he was smart enough to see the truth)

>>339298 It is hard to say for certain how much of the thread drama he directly or indirectly caused considering he was a samefag and an impersonator. At minimum he shares blame for all the anons targeted or driven away because he kept fucking with Sandpaper.
>>339298 Surprisingly, until tomoe pulled that weird shit on drawpile, I had no suspicions about him. Pillar and Oilrige were open, even loud, shitting themselves 24/7 (and still shitting, Jesus), but tomoe didn't act so openly. He was smarter than them or something, but it's still an interesting observation that in a community with less than 100 members, there were THREE crazy people. I don't consider Scribble crazy, to me, he's just a idiot child. And Aliceanon, I think something really bad just happened in his life at that moment, he had never been involved in drama before and in his last posts to snow he was only trying to justify himself, apparently realizing that he had done something bad, and then he just left.

>>339255 >>339260 Fuguedrone’s confidence and control is a manifestation of a complete and total lack of earthly fear
One of Fuguedrone’s primary traits is that he Doesn’t Afraid Of Anything™; Fuguedrone was a stage magician before he became a Solver witch, he’s good at playing up confidence for an audience, it’s also because he’s very difficult to permanently kill, (not just due to his inherent Solver magics & psychic powers but also because of his large variety of magic charms, esoteric bargains and accords and the fact that his soul is not actually contained inside his body, but is instead hidden within the nigh-impenetrable convolutions of the Armitage Network), and most importantly, he knows the shape of reality, his psionic connection to the collective consciousness of the universe grants him awareness of all that is good righteous, he can feel the hearts of every living thing beating as one, it makes it hard for him to feel not feel in control of situation.
>>339315 For someone who fancied himself a thread mastermind it makes perfect sense that he tried his best to entrench himself into a position of power. It made his malicious activity that much easier to perform and get away with.
>>339324 Is it possible to say no to a tall sentinel drone twink who offers you to fuck him in the ass? Anon, he fought for you, be at least a little grateful.
>>339266 murder drones was practically designed to make fanfic that directly connects to the show near-impossible to come up with. thats why the only ones that connect to the story are about uzis kids. you gotta understand that by the time murder drones happens, everythings already over and done with, the solver had pretty much won by then
>>339334 nah, if it was just planets she was after cyn wouldn't bother sending down murder drones to personally kill everything before cracking them open. genocide was clearly part of what made things so fun for her
>>339299 Looking at it realisticly she's got a few options(varying in effectiveness depending on how boring she's willing to be)
>A: shipping logs Cargo trawlers, supply requests, all the interconnected shipping and handling you would expect not just any developed nation, but a hyperconglomerate centered consumption-economy like the Union to possess. Any level of thoroughness in examining even just the data JCJ alone had would be enough to pinpoint 95+% of interstellar habitations. Of course this IS the most *boring* option, so we'll assume Cyn didn't bother.
>B: communications channels Step 1: attack Humans. Step 2: let Humans try to call for help(send orders, alerts, last words to their families and what-have-you). Step 3: trace the signals to the next Humans! Fighting a divinity(not to mention running a wartime economy) requires an awareness of the situation and your supplies that Cyn could easily exploit into infinity new targets. And the best part is, the only meaningful way to avoid this is either giving up coordination(and therefore the fight, since you can no longer pool resources or intelligence) or deploying haxx so ridiculous they get interesting to work around themselves(like Sentinel planet and its "can't touch this" comms). Clearly the *better* option compared to the former and arguably supported by cannon(she marks out planets using the Human flag and the trace of her spread in ep6 seems to follow Human transport lanes) but not confirmed.
>C: god-vision Sinple, easy, direct: look for tasty tasty souls, find any location with drones, turn each and every one into their own unique horror movie(you won't get the chance for self-contained environements again!). Ideal answer for Cyn in-universe, but boring for thread purposes and no cannon support(outside of ZDs)
>D: "hunger games" Generate DDs. Give em a ship(no FTL). Say "go find Humans." Starvation? They've got a full reserve to start with! And the promise of melting alive from the inside out is ideal motivation for them to do their jobs! Plus this way Cyn gets murder and a show: slaughter if they can find Humans in-system; madness + starvation if they can't! Might even be amusing enough for her to do more than once for a given solar system.
Dunno if there's any other ways I'm missing, but I figure these are the most likely. Anyone got others to add?

In short: write what seems funny/interesting/useful for the green, including just extending her "sad lonely cuckold" status if you want. Don't feel limited by the thread.
Fuck. Ok, the point is that it's only important that you write something to begin with, not whether you use "interpretation X" vs "variant Y" on a character's potential future. Make it good and people will like it.

>>339547 >>339548 If you think teaching in the K-highschool/secondary school range, she could teach basically anything because most of that job is just memorizing facts and learning first principles of subjects, then regurgitating them for tests. If we're talking college level academics she's got PHDs in Applied+Theoretical robotics, physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, cybernetics, genetics, and could qualify as a SCUBA, Vacuum EVA and spacecraft navigation instructor. Qualified silver in Oslo colony's youth olympics for pistol marksmanship.
>>339570 On the other hand how good would she actually be as a teacher? If memory serves a massive part of her backstory is finding others "boring" and "dull." How much worse is that gonna get if she's got to make a bunch of objective inferiors learn basic(to her) facts?

>>339584 SD for Science Drone. Technically SD-SD, but nobody calls him that. SD is also mistaken for Sentinel Drone sometimes, so that's an issue as well. Or Super Deformed.
>>339584 SD-PHD? Though that is a bit long, maybe SG for Smart Guy? No matter what you decide to name him I look forward to seeing more of him and the enforcer drones as well, they kinda grew on me
>>339602 Pavo was created during a collaborative brain(autistic)storming session between many anons. Pillar may have participated, but he wasn't creator or the one who proposed the idea.
>>339594 Would Cyn have realistically resorted to turning herself into a (Super) Disassembly Drone if for some reason the whole Cynwalker thing didn't end up working out?
>>339602 basically pillar went: > "what if drone with peacock aesthetic" then a bunch of anons went: > "large colorful butt feathers instead of tail" > "you realize that males are the colorful ones" > "oh well then he would be hella gay" > "heh" and then Pueblo was born, with switchanon making the first drawing of him then two weeks later pillar decided he didn't like it, with his original vision for it being a mardi gras dancer anons told him no ones stopping him from going with his idea, but instead he chose to not pursue his idea and went ahead with his stupid vendetta
>>339607 Personally don't think she'd need to turn herself into a disassembly drone because she's basically the super powered version of that already. I just thought it was a cool design and didn't think much further lol
>>339601 While I would disagree on the basis that people are free to pick and choose what and when they discuss a certain topic, I would say that randomly inserting (no pun intended) Pavo into a situations like >>339600 is silly. Then again I have a bias towards allowing OCs to interact with canon characters so make of that what you will.
>>339612 Also what the fuck were those two sentences? I swear my brain power is degrading with each passing day. Never get tipsy during drone hours, anons.
>>339608 I was there at the time, and the anon who suggested the idea didn't say he was pillar (and frankly, anyone could have said they suggested the feather idea and demanded they be removed).
You can see for yourself, here's the thread where Pavo is mentioned: >>67264
>>339573 Same, however I also realized in reality how terrifying it would actually be if a naked drone with homemade antlers tried to converse with me like nothing is out of the ordinary.
>>339605 Switchanon: >Wrote the first Pavo green (thread #70) >Drew Pavo’s design (thread #73) Pillar: >Possibly suggested the idea (no proof) >Possible suggested the name (also no proof)
>>339618 I remember the time when we came up with Pavo. Everyone was just throwing ideas around and discussing them, it was the true peak of collaboration among the anonymous community. Truly amazing feeling, and thanks to Switchanon for drawing the first art. I hope he's still around and sees my thanks.
>>339614 I just thought of a reverse universe where Cyn and Pavo switched roles and Cyn became the sentinel drone and Pavo became the solver host.
How would the solver war have developed then? Would disassembly drones have remained the same? Would the evil Pavo have tormented people the same way Cyn did, or would he have had his own methods? How would Cyn have behaved if she had been a sentinel drone? That's what I meant when I made the post, and yes, I know, technically, we know nothing about who Cyn was before becoming a solver host, but hey, we have imaginations.
>>339627 GarouAnon, this isn’t how it was 1000 years ago. You have to tread kinfolk with respect. The human population is rather low and despite your best efforts you still can’t rip apart sentinel drones for not fighting the solver correctly. So you’ll have to be respectful and treat kinfolk as equals we are on the same team, we both want to defeat the solver.
>>339626 The Solver most likely just consumes its host and gets up to evil shit, and there's zero Cyn left in there. But, if the host could exercise any control over the Solver, then it'd probably go around dragging humans into a mysterious space pit where they're put in stasis. Technically protected and preserved, not even being driven insane by centuries of solitude. Just stuck unconscious, forever. DDs would be abductor drones, in that case. Which still kill workers because they're in the way and need to die to zero out the universe anyway.
>>339630 Well >the face of Sentinel Drones for the thread >the face of Solver Drones for the thread >strongest champion of humanity vs strongest human killer >finally: big ass no tits gay Anon lover vs small ass big tits straight Anon lover
I can kind of see the argument. I suppose Harper might fit better in a "heads of faction A and B swap around" sense but she's too normal and practical for there to be a fight: it would be "Harper attacks and all humans die; then she ressurects them from her internal hell forever until they're mindbroken enough to get along nicely like she wants." Not much you can do with that unless you're running a HoDR variant.
>>339521 >SD-Y You like someone who share your interests although it could be toxic or one sided. >SD-E You like retarded waifu. >SD-R Uhh...i forgot. >SD-S You don’t like catgirls but you like catlike girls. >SD-L You like horny V. >Colt You're boring >Beretta You miss when she's was popular. >Ivory You look sentinel drones and very tall women . >Teli You either like horny femcel losers or her sentinel counterpart. >Strawberry You don't exist. >Strychnine Despite the rape you think she'll be a good mother. >Asddddenam EEEEEEEEEE >Valentine You like rich ASSholes. >Abby You hate jane. >J0y Who? >Marco Again who? >Agouti ... >>339632 Also, in this case, Cyntinel is part of an anti-abduction task force the Elliots had Tessa's stupid drones turned into after all 4 of them tested positive for Sentinel code.
>>339632 >most likely Try definitely. >>339633 Maybe I'm just not so deep in humanslop that I can't see the source material anymore. Maybe that's why my confusion.
>>339633 Harper's definitely the face of (the base) Sentinel Drones. Pavo's mad popular, but he's not the Harpster. But Pebble does have pretty strong grounds to be a foil for Cyn, given that he's powered by his love for humanity, and not just the romantic kind.
>>339521 >tfw your "favorite" character (singular) includes two full teams worth of DDs, an entire nest worth of mutants, no less than two seperate hive minds, an entire drone subtype, and a business(the entirety of it)

>>339527 You know, we can actually confirm 100% that Nyc isn't a fujo: Outpost 6, her personal fanfiction, has exactly 0 gays. Now that doesn't make it faggot-free (both Yzzil and DS-E qualifying) but it DOES mean that, bare minimum, man on man doesn't interest her. If it did she'd probably send M or Nahk on a molesting spree instead of Izu.
Admittedly it could just as easily be that she lacks many male characters to fag about with, but given her interest in Fiend-style procreative/torture rape I think its safe to call her a degenerate of another variety. Thank goodness for it too: Daht's bottomplate would never recover.

On that note, do you think Paradox'd make a game about the whatever war JCJ was implied to have sprang out of? Wasn't it just colonial machines dude? If memory serves he's responsible for over 50% of both greens and art related to it, not to mention the giant-ass "episodes" he drops for the thing. Was the rest of the thread even involved?
Anon he's about one misplaced scentence away from killing Akita, himself, his family, or all of the above. That guy's such a ball of assholery and sheer angst that he arguably eclipses pilot Uzi herself: at least she was just frustrated by her father instead of actively resenting him(until the obvious). Never saw Uzi using Khan's dead relatives as a weapon to hurt him with.
>>339671 Outpost-6’s concept, and the core characters of Izu, M, Nyc, and Nahk were pretty well discussed thread creations back in the day, and CManon hasn’t actually strayed from the og conditions despite writing as much as he has. He’s done a good job exploring Izu and M’s relationship, which was and still is probably the most interesting aspect of the whole AU
No.339676 Stupid anon who doesn't keep with threadlore and Worldbuilding
You know I'm curious now Anon: who would you consider "like Harper" out of either the cannon or /md/ cast? Might shed some light on what you're asking...
>>339676 >Y, E, R, S, L, Strychnine You know these ones, don't be coy
>Marco, Agouti, (arguably) AM Also DDs except for AM in a few greens: his whole concept is "character from another series isekaid into a WD at the Manor, then DDd by Cyn" so its about 50/50
>Abby, Valentine, and Assnatch Muties one and all. Ab + Val are classic pocketsteaks while Annswreth is a Solver-Sapien born from Alice whose draw/writefag created her explicitly to have a viewpoint character for loregreens.
>Strawberry, J0y Both Solveresque hive minds with lore to spare that generate unique monsters and have infection mechanics. You probably know berry-babe's stuff by now and if you don't there's a summary on the booru. J0y's part of Elf's massive origin green, so if you want more on her you'd better start reading
>Juggernaught Drone type. Has very little resemblance to either drones or the setting but that's inevitable when their main thing is being broad-shouldered muscle men who can actually back it up (unlike "buff" humans that realistically outfought even by base WDs much less the ubertwinks like N). Gets Bunny going like nothing else and less common than Sentinelposting, so less complained about.
>Boxon Business from the wayback era before even Solver War stuff was conceptualized. Originally concepted as the builders of a robot called Boxo but changed over into Humanity's main non-Jenson weapons/armor supplier (focused around boxy, hyper-durable designs in contrasts to JCJ's Ipad look) when Solver War started/Boxo died to the thread. Originally a blatant 40k joke about space marines and that's persisted in their armor/weapon designs as well as their names(hence why Boxon has "terminators")
>Colt, Beretta, Femdrone, Elf, Ivory, Teli Assorted Nuzispawn, Sentinel Drones, and WDs. Most of these are pretty common so I'm assuming you know them
>>339632 >>339633 I like that host Harper and host Pavo, instead of killing humans, essentially use their power to subjugate them, since it's "for their own good."
>>339669 Yes, Doll is a 100% fan of games from Paradox. I don't know why, but speaking Russian makes you a huge fan of coloring outline maps.
And these greedy bastards definitely made a crude piece of shit for 60 bucks, so that you would then buy all their DLC for a total of 230 bucks, and at the same time, fucking JCJ sponsored the creation of this game.
>>339677 I never realised that about her character. Harper having a motherly appeal is something I haven’t noticed before >>339682 That’s how she is in canon, closer to a big sister to drones than a mother figure.

>>339684 >Solveresque hive mind. Honestly, I didn’t do much with the Solver beyond making it a fluke mutation in a zombie drone. In canon, it’s usually portrayed as either some kind of program or a full eldritch entity and I wasn’t sure which direction to lean toward. Which one is actually more canon? >>339702 Ok I'm now curious to know more as well.
>>339211 I got a list I think nobody's hit: >Daht >Neerie >Nyc >Beauregard(if he counts as /md/ and not cannon) >Solverless timeline Tessa(ditto as above) >Oogie >Molli >Grunts >Marcy >Maintenance Anon/"Toby"
>>339708 Definitely a full eldritch entity given that Liam "I hate clarity" Vickers went out of his way to add this scene to the start of Home. He even zoomed in on the thing so you knew it was important enough to pause for an not just "ha ha Uzi has games on her UI" like the Pilot fight.

>>339767 It's actually crazy you bring this up because I've had an animatic idea in my head to this song with Cyn for YEARS. It's just that making animatics is hard and time consuming. I swear I'll get to it someday

It's been a while since I've been back to these threads. I have a lot of catching up to do. Long story short - I'm into my final university semester and I had to lock in. But in the mean time, enjoy this greentext.
>You haven’t been feeling very well these days. >After you and Anon did…that a week ago you started feeling weird and uncomfortable. >The first few days you felt very sick. Your head was spinning so much you could barely push yourself up from bed. After that, the nausea started to appear randomly during the day. >Second was the heat. Everything felt extremely hot and uncomfortable like someone has turned up a space heater to a hundred and is trying to cook you alive. You keep checking the temperature and it’s constantly in the negatives yet you feel like you’re boiling. >You started walking around with a T-shirt because you felt like you were suffocating in your sweatshirt. Drones aren’t supposed to breathe. >Third was the appetite. You started craving for more oil, drinking more than you were used to but you didn’t care – you were hungry. But that wasn’t enough. For some reason, you also started craving for food that Worker Drones shouldn’t and cannot eat. You started to eat some of Anon’s rations along with fruits and veggies from his hydroponic garden. He was confused as to why you started eating them but didn’t pay much mind to it and let it be. >Mom and dad noticed you were acting unusual, but you tried to play it off – just feeling quirky. But one day it all fell apart. >You felt so nauseous that you barfed on the floor which was when mom and dad freaked out. They had no idea what was going on or what was wrong with you. >They thought of many things that could affect a drone negatively – malware, faulty parts, etc., but it was none of them. None of the drone “doctors” could figure out what was wrong. They thought you were somehow dying and started to get desperate. >They found a drone that came from a hospital on the surface – a doctor for humans but more like a nurse. Mom and dad begged her to check what was wrong with you much to her being wanted to be left alone. >At first, she listened with half-interest as to what mom and dad were saying, most of it being random nonsense but once you explained yourself what you felt, she looked at you with wide eyes and ushered you into another room, telling mom and dad to wait. >She led you to a bed and a weird computer-looking machine with a display and a dial with a long tube. She told you to lay down and lift your shirt up. She rubbed some clear cream onto your abdomen and started running the dial up and down. >The image on the display changed from nothing to showing your internals with two weird looking shapes. The nurse drone’s eyes widened even more and stopped doing what she was doing. She cleaned your abdomen and looked at you in the eyes with the warmest expression you’ve seen her do. >”Congratulations, miss Doorman. You’re going to be a mother.” >Wait. You’re going to be a mother? >You’re pregnant?!
>How is this possible? Drones aren’t supposed to get pregnant! They’re synthetic, not biological! Unless… >You knew there was always something special about you but mom wouldn’t want to tell you. You didn’t know what you inherited from your mom and dad but now you know what it is. Now you know. >This is very alarming but at the same time you feel very…fuzzy? Not in a bad way, a pleasant way. The thought of carrying Anon’s children didn’t feel bad at all. You loved him, he loved you. If you were a human this would be natural from what you’ve gathered from stealing some of mom’s…private collection of comics or as she calls them ‘manga’. >But how would they feel about this? >You and the nurse step out of the room, mom and dad waiting. They stepped up to you both. “Well? Is she OK?” Mom asks, anticipation in her eyes. >”Well, uhh…” You try and think of a way to say it without making mom angry, pixels of sweat running down your visor but the nurse drone speaks up. >”Miss Doorman, Mister Doorman. You’re going to be grandparents.” They both look at her as this suddenly gets dropped on their hands. You stiffen up, afraid of what is going to happen. “When your daughter here explained how she felt, I was immediately confused. I ran her through an ultrasonic scanner and what I found was very fascinating. She’s carrying what looks like a miniature pillbaby and a human fetus in its early stages. Shocking, I know, but all indications point to her carrying twins. Congratulations.” >Mom and dad look at you with an expression of pure bewilderment. You stand still and wait for the world to end. >”Yay!” Dad yips out with excitement. “I’m going to be a grandpa!” He runs up to you and holds you in the tightest of hugs. “Gosh, Beretta! I’m so happy for you! It’s like a dream come true! I’ll make sure to be the coolest grandpa around!” He lets you go and both of you look at mom. “Uzi, this is wonderful news! We’re going to be grandparents!” >Mom is still looking at you like she’s going to explode. She slowly points at you. “You…you did it with…” Her hand trembles and slowly starts to curl into a fist as her expression turns into pure contempt. “That filthy monkey!” She stomps the floor. “He sullied you with his damn charm!” She stomps the floor again. “I will make sure that nothing remains of him! And then send him to Hell!” She keeps stomping the floor as she roars in rage. >You don’t know why but her comments finally flip something within you. You’re so angry. Angry at both mom and dad but more at mom. You walk up to mom and… >*SLAP!!* >…without thinking, you slap her across the face. She recoils back and looks at you with a shocked expression. >”What is wrong with you?!” You yell at her. “Why is it so important that he isn’t a drone, huh? Why do you hate him so much?! Dad isn’t even a Worker Drone and yet you love him! He’s a good human, not like the pricks you stereotype him as!” You groan and run your hands down your face in frustration. “Why do you feel it’s so important to ruin the only relationship I have after you have embarrassed me multiple times, huh? He cares about me and I care about him! He would never and has never done anything to physically and mentally hurt me!” >You turn around and look at dad who is just as shocked as mom. “Dad, I know you don’t mind him being human but…you should have done more. I told you time and time again to talk with mom but I feel like you’re just enabling her…” >After you’re done with your crashout, your hands shake in lingering fury and sadness. You whimper as you storm out. “Beretta, wait!” Mom yells out but you don’t listen. You slam the door behind you and make your way back home. >You get to your room and slam the door shut behind you, making sure it’s locked. You curl up on your bed as you think about what you just did. >You yelled at mom and dad, let your frustrations out. You should feel bad about this, but it feels like a great weight has been lifted off your shoulders. >You’re pregnant. Pregnant with Anon’s kids. How is this possible is unknown yet it happened. >Fellow Executives, I hope this communication finds Project Runaway Scrape proceeding according to schedule. I have heard by my various sources concerning rumors of delays imposed by exceedingly frivolous allocation of limited project logistics to such things as clearing hangars aboard the [Expunged Data] for luxury yachts, requisitioning of excessively large internal volume at the as-yet incomplete prow of the ship for penthouse suites and executive offices, and one attempt which I am sure must be exaggerated of a request to (somehow) deconstruct and relocate an entire 2400s era pre-hyperwave colonial reconstruction plantation mansion from the surface of Gold 4 to the outer surface of [Expunged Data]s planetoid shell. >I would like to remind the members of The Board that Project Runaway Scrape is a mass-evacuation asset, and delays to its finalization endanger the entire human species. Nepthys cannot under any circumstance increase the production of war assets and you will find that the greater war assets department will concur with me on this fact. >Returning to the subject of "Surrogate Sentinel Drones", there are three primary issues, only one of which my department can offer meaningful assistance with. The first is the expense in resources and fighting power of each K-03E model Sentinel. These units currently cost 172,500 USscr (10,000 JCJccr) to manufacture, this may be ameliorated by switching to the E/I model which is currently only 2,000 JCJccr and in much more abundant supply. >The second issue is one you will have to field with the Agricultural Division, as a large surplus of new human beings will of course demand a substantially increased supply of food. While I am sure their latest NutriSlop-G (tm)(R) is quite sufficient to fill in the gaps in food shortages, I believe our next generations would suffer some moderate cognitive and physical deficits if they were to grow on it as their exclusive dietary staple. >The third issue is one that Research Team 4's Designer Biologicals team can answer, that being the miniaturization of artificial womb technology. Previously these systems were used only for regrowing organs and single tissues, but extensive research into Solver nanotechnology has yielded us the derivative used in our Sentinel units existing limited regeneration capabilities. >We have anticipated a request to investigate mass human production and I will forward you a secure contact link by which you can reach the department head of Designer Biologicals and obtain a master design document with the production requirements, schematics and instructions on how to modify a K-03E/I model for this "Surrogate" function with minimal reduction to its other capabilities.
>Sincerely, "H" >Junior Board Member, R&D Division >Department Head JCJenson Research Team 4 >CEO/CFO Calibern Research & Development in partnership with JCJenson In Spaaaaace!
>>339822 Yeah but those only apply for *conception* and *birth* specifically. I'm wondering what the effects on the children would be and if there would be any "stability" in their forms to speak of or just random amalgams of metal and flesh. DDs I can assume to produce relatively consistent metal/flesh mixes (since they're meant to all look about the same minus some sexual dimorphism, like a human).
Solver drones though have massive variance from drone to drone even in cannon (see for example Uzi's flesh transformation vs Doll + Nori + Yeva's nowings status vs pic related we see in the lockers at CFL). Give that even their bodies are so mutated and so differently mutated, would porking a Solver drone even be meaningfully different from just sticking it in a mutant? Or would congress consistently result in some drone/human/solverflesh thing of one variety or another(sapien, drone, it dosen't really matter which).

the drones are gonna bloat up and explode into a pile of humans and gore aren't they. either that go full Skaven rat-mother: can't imagine Mr. "Maximum Humans, Minimum Drones" himself would make the process at all pleasant for the Sentinels involved, nor allow it to be so "inefficient" that they would be able to do anything other than their "primary purpose"
>>339914 It's very simple: Holly will fuck him in the ass if he ruins the sentinel drones more than they already are by adding the ability to give birth to humans.
Even if you are the king of beasts, you won’t be able to stand up to a man with a gun(in this case, the one who has your boss by the balls).
>>339916 (me) Plus, making birth difficult for sentinel drones means a high probability of the baby's death and a low rate of subsequent reproduction, it's stupid and illogical. By the way, who is Henry?
Nonsense, it would be the easiest in the world! Simply begin gestation; watch as your sentinel reforms, it's own nanites turning against it as legs and arms morph into nothing more than "skin" for the resultant "egg;" then watch as what used to be a drone bursts into a hundred or so human infants upon full viability! That's far more humans produced far faster than an entire lifetime of clanging could provide (and with no chance of birth-canal based complications too!). No reason to avoid such efficiency when extinction is on the line!

>>339916 You know why even use Sentinels of any variety in the first place? Are normal drones somehow not enough? You're already "growing" the flesh inside anyways: why bother reformatting your super-soldiers for it instead of the hyper-disposable scrap heaps you can churn out (and therefore impregnate) by the hundreds?
>>339920 I think it could be related to energy. Sentinel drones have a direct connection to an infinite energy source in the form of a core with a singularity, and this energy source can be used to carry a child. A WD would require a large amount of external energy for this.

>>339922 They're doing this on a ship are they not? A ship with a presumably a similarly infinite source of power considering that they're planning to flee known space (and so intend to be without inputs for a long, long time) + that is indicated to be doing similar things for meat and organs literally in other rooms of the ship. Can't imagine any real reason for it to be "irreplacable, hyper-expensive Sentinels" used for the "as many bodies as fast as possible" program other than some higher-up's fetish. Either that or an attempt to head off solverstuff by having no workers whatsoever, but that implies no "corrupted" Sentinels too and that has its own problems.
>>339926 It's not just a flask where a child grows; one of the key criteria is the ability to regenerate, and therefore the full ability to bear a child, not just individual organs. When literally every person counts, this is important, plus, it seems, there are a lot of drones, a LOT. This means that such a capability will allow for a rapid increase in population.
Remember that this is a SENTINEL drone thing only Anon, and Phoenix Sentinels as well: aka the rarest, most expensive, hardest to build and deploy of all drone types. It's better than having *no* extra production but it's certainly not "a lot of drones" and so equally won't be "a rapid increase."
That's arguably a good thing though given that this is one of the "we're escaping Human space" arkships. You don't want your population to grow TOO much in transit after all, and presumably it'll be a lot easier to make more Sentinels once you've landed somewhere habitable and stopped being at war. If just *one* Sentinel (aka military superweapon) goes rogue onboard though...
You know, aren't the Sentinels described here (Phoenix type) of the non-people variety? As in the "everything about my existence is based around my central command" type whose central command is always, without exception "kill the Solver?" Doesn't that mean they'd find Human reproduction (and its results)... irrelevant?
>tfw you impregnate your assigned Sentinel >she just... stands there, during the act, not moving or smiling or changing expression whatsoever >leaves the very second you finish, not even bothering to wipe off your secretions as she sprints back to the firing range >don't see her again for the next nine months >when she does return, it's just to drop off "your spawn" >she doesn't want to look at it >she doesn't want to look at you >she doesn't care, at all, about either one of you >to her, this was just another "pointless" distraction from the important things in life >and you, your joint child, were just an order >you will never be anything more
>your child will never know his mother >you will never let him >its better this way >for if he did...
>there was one thing that could interest her, always >one and only one thing that could put light in her eyes >the prospect of going back >finding the Solver >hunting it and all its creations to the very last >your son will never, must never know his mother >for the things he would do, the only thing he COULD do to earn her affection >it would kill him >it would kill you all
>>339926 I wrote it with the idea in mind that it's fielding a question asked by some rich executive who wants to fuck his Sentinel, and Holly is sorta blowing him off by sending him down the contact list to be a different department's problem. It can be done but as the message illustrates its not something that would be taken seriously or implemented at any scale.
One of those "My boss wants me to fulfill his silly idea and I don't have the authority to just tell him to fuck off so I'll pass the problem down the line to someone else" situations.
>>339931 This makes sense if the goal is to preserve humanity. Essentially, 20,000 sentinel drones with a certain amount of male genetic material become a fully-fledged colonization vessel. A fully protected army capable of populating virtually any planet, the perfect ark.
Of course, the first descendants won't experience parental love, but the very fact of their survival is an absolute success.
>>339932 >don't have the authority >evac ships are about to be filled with Sentinels >it's Doc Holly
If she didn't before she will now. Doesn't she still have the override codes for *all* of them? And aren't these ships going without *human operable* heavy weaponry? Holly's about 2 minutes from becoming supreme god-empress of all the Evac ships at once if my assumptions are correct.
