>>328904 The frame wears out, but the drone itself, its soul—its core, specifically—I don't think so. Worker drones have cores that need to be properly disposed of to prevent them from becoming zombie drones. I think that, based on the use of sentinel drones, they will be treated not just as equals, but even exalted and recognized as individuals. Worker drones, on par with disassembly drones, will be recognized as equals. Plus, we need a working population after the genocide, and who makes a better worker, a drone or a man?
Regarding the emergence of new sentinel drones (and the emergence of new drones in general), I'm in favor of the procreation idea. Mainly for greens, of course, but I can justify my headcanon in the fact that worker drones have pillbabies, and disassembly drones (and therefore sentinels) have "solver magic" that can lead to a "more natural" birth of a pillbaby inside them (they also have meat inside). Overall, I believe each anon decides for themselves how this all plays out in their headcanon.
WAKE UP! SENTINEL DRONES ARE JUST AS VULNERABLE TO SOLVER INFLUENCE AS ANY OTHER DRONE! THEY'RE ALL TICKING TIME BOMBS!!! WORKERS! DISASSEMBLY! SENTINEL! ENFORCERS! LABOR BOTS! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM NEED TO GO!
>>328915 As I recall, the main idea behind integrating disassembly drones is to keep them under control, because if they truly self-organize into drone states, they might return to the practice of devouring people. As it is, it's prohibited, and now only criminals do it.
And I completely agree that most of society will still hate DDs after this damn genocide. That's why the World Economic Forum has a crooked nose, lol.
>>328921 What? No, why? On the contrary, I think the government would do everything in its power to ensure that sentinel drones become pregnant and give birth to new sentinel drones (I liked Elf's story, where she became a sentinel drone because she had something very rare in her core that helped her resist the influence of the solver, so I made this my headcanon, that there are very few worker drones suitable for creating new sentinel drones).

>>328918 Why would Sentinels have Solver-flesh shenanigans going on? Wouldn't it make more sense if they could codeshare only (since they're specifically made to be completely incompatible with Solver) and humans just developed a device that converted the "human method of codesharing" into somethibg that the pillbaby/code recombination machine can make use of?
>>328925 >this has nothing to do with the fact that the government is run by the Sentinel Corps >pay no attention to the drone behind the curtain, beloved humie
>>328922 >this sentiment is not uncommon among the uninformed population post-war, who exclusively know about its start from the infamous "zombie drones" incidents and emergency broadcasts >actual veterans of the war, however, know it's true >just... not because the machines are vulnerable >experience has taught them that everything; machine, man, animal, plant, stone, and steel alike; all is susceptible to the Absolute command of the Exponential End >a few, those particularly learned or hopeful or foolish, believe the reports that Sentinels alone can stand against its might, that something in their nature or engineering or even their "soul" resists encroachment >this almost true >even the Sentinels themselves believe it >but the flesh always has a way of finding invitation
>>328929 It just seemed to me that under the influence of an otherworldly force, they could also have this kind of "mutation." It seems that sentinel drones are also connected to a power source, like Cyn, but we need to ask about this connection Phoenix: I myself, honestly, haven't really thought about it much, I just like that sentinel drones could get pregnant by humans.

>they can't do it naturally >but they really want to >seeing DDs get to have that level of human experience, that level of connection to their organic partners... it enrages them >so initiatives were made, research was done >eventually gene-compatible "biofounderies" were developed for installment onto Sentinels that could afford them, resolving the problem more-or-less for good(attempts with mutants/solvercritters get... iffy) >now any drone willing to withstand the major reduction in combat capabilities that came with installment could enjoy that special intimacy with their human partner while also still producing fully mechanical contributors to the sentinel program! >even workers could get in on the action, theoretically!(a moderate chasis load for a Sentinel is... not moderate on a worker frame) >but that took many years time >and many were impatient >impatient and strong >impatient and surrounded by ever so vulnerable, ever so deserving neighbors who did in fact posses the components they sought >certain... extractions followed >and getting solverflesh to take root in something is hardly a challenge >they thought themselves invincible >they thought their code superior, immune, and the flesh easily prevented from its spread by regular maintenance >and certainly they know from reports by damnable traitors of the safety to humans the process held >they failed to consider their offspring >their ingenuity bore the worst kind of fruit: sentinel-code and solver-string battled within the resultant pillbabies, their conflict distorting code and constructed body alike
>when Sentinel-code won out the effects were simple: vast semgents of a pill's crucial internal coding burnt out, places where they would have inherited balance or the ability to control limbs or the ability to percieve the world from their DD buildplan removed in the process of extracting all Solver influence from the resultant beings' code. The very worst instances leaving crucial personality or memory drives rendered permanently unusable or unstable if-not even rendering out into [FATAL ERROR] from the womb >strictly speaking the results still found themselves Sentinel compatible, but even the program's best attempts found themselves unable to reverse the damage: research still continues but the outlook is grim
>the effects of Solver triumph in the code differed >while the program's highly adaptive nature made stillbirths rare the conflict typically still annihalated the majority or entirety of the DD bodyplan: less than 5% of even solver-code victories had significant DD resemblance >so instead the solver's own nature took root >human hands for lost manipulators, crab claws for damaged leg code, and eyes for nonfunctional cameras all took shape as the solver-code attempted patch job repairs as best it "knew" how >essentially, this resulted in every instance of solver-victory manifesting a set of (typically severe) zombiedrone mutations upon birth, ones which they had to maintain through their entire lives lest they lose some crucial functionality needed for living in an exorcism >some Sentinels would have perferred a miscarriage >still... despite the horror the instinct was typically love from the zombie's unfortunate parents >indeed this particular half of the "lost generation" is almost singlehandedly responsible the development of mutant rights legislation: parents throwing themselves into activism or agitation at the highest levels of government to save their children from the standing Kill on Sight orders >of course this has done relatively little to save the results from anti-mutant discrimination, but heavy enforcement on the lart of their parents limits the effects to the psychological
>the tremendous morale blow dealt by these children, alongside the typical method used for obtinaining the needed parts, stands even now as a stain on the Corps and its reputation well into peacetime >but the data gained still has use to some... >use even beyond sating the curiosity of certain spectacled scientists >those relationships formed between the two sides of this divide(sentinel-triumphant offspring with solver-triumphant ones) have learned from the mistakes of their parents and can now, even in the rare instance they attempt reproduction, limit the damage tremendously through use of a series of code manipulating tools during gestation >and those relations more forbidden, those Sentinels who found connection with mutants or Sapiens or even the rare DD? >those couples in particular thank every star in the sky and Terra's ruin and even old JCJ for their luck >for such have seen the face of the Solver >and they know, in the deepest pits of their heart >it could have been worse
Not sure how far I got with these, drew her around early November when I was still testing ideas for fridge drones before I came to a conclusion that people where getting a little too into the concept.

>>328919 >>328960 None of the other Anons who responded are me. There is no lore that I made up specifically for that drawing, it was done by request from an Anon because I haven't drawn much in the past few weeks and wanted to keep my skills from degrading too badly.
>>328974 Sorry cyn i dont care about your power scaling I got more emotional influence from an Afflicted afterimage then your entire backstory will ever give me.
>>328976 But what about the backstory she gave others anon? Surely you should know by now that Cyn is the traumatic event, far closer to an affliction made manifest than a character with an arc(outside of the admittedly interesting implications of her relationship to Tessa).
>>328979 >all 3 had flesh in them >flesh put there directly by Cyn for 2 and used by her against it's owner for the remaining 1 >Cyn even managed to literally slip herself inside of her killer's ass rather than dying, getting literal "backdoor" access to her systems
I don't know anon, evidence seems to support Cyn's ability to put flesh anywhere and everywhere, sentinels included.
>>328927 >>328953 >0.5 OIL CONCENTRATE COSTS 1 OIL CONCENTRATE. аж ты сука I liked the greens (greens?), but there are some places where you had grammatical errors anon, e.g. it should be "more comfortable WITH paper and ink" instead of "more comfortable TO ink". Another example: "NEXT SHIFT YOU BARELY MAKE IT IN TIME WHEN THE ELEVATOR TO ARRIVE AND JUMP INTO IT." -> pretty sure it should be "when the elevator arrives". Unfortunately some of the concepts are most likely alien to the anons here and you can't really translate them well, but yeah. Hmm, I kinda want to do something with this or just the megastructure concept in general but fuck if I know when I'll get the time for it.
>>328986 It's... not completely sad. As noted the results were functional in one way or another barring a few exceptions and managed to achieve happy endings more often than not while still adding an interesting development to humanity in the post-war era. Maybe things would have been different if their larents were worse but they in vast majority pulled through.
More importantly, this gives me an excuse to write "blind master" type sentinels without having to justify why they wouldn't repair part A B or C. Plus we need more ways/means to justify talking about ZDs and if I can open up a whole "you thought you were just dating a zombie drone until you met her family and you've been shittalking the Blues for the last hour" set of greens or similar we might be able to get the ball rolling on that.
>>329002 Aaah, a man of discerning taste I see. How then about a tragic tale of growing horrors inplied from the very heart of cannon itself? I don't think we've ever actually seen a green that deals with this aspect of her storyline...

>>328939 within Fleshdrone's story he is canonically not a zombie drone actually, he's the son of a drone included in the solver patch experiment. he escaped to an abandoned drone repair warehouse and actively modifies himself. the reason for his flesh is due to him hunting disassembly drones (for sport!) for their cores and eating them resulting in the flesh around his core expanding around his body the ore he eats. he also likes to kidnap worker drones to modify them as his own little art projects.
>>329003 Man, still disappointed they didn't have a fucked up meat eye-or a human eye-growing in under her eyepatch.
Actually, wonder if that's one thing Doll appreciates about being a ghost: she doesn't have to endure the body horror feeling of being full of ever-thirsting eldritch meat anymore.
>>329006 I 100% believe that was the original idea and Glitch just said no. There's little/no reason to include the eyepatch over only one side otherwise. Still could have stood to have like a solver camera growing out of there yeah.
>>329008 It could've been that Glitch couldn't make it look good enough an opted for a simpler alternative, kinda like how the anti-drone sentinels were planned to be weird floating orbs in case they couldn't make the robo-raptor design work

>>329028 You know anon there's no real reason we can't have both. If anything it might be neat to see their problems compliment and compound each other the same way their virtues normally do.
>N has major trust issues with anything that seems Solverish outside of his inner circle(V, Uzi, Nori by extension, and maybe eventually Doll). He blames himself for refusing to recognize the truth when this all started. >This is accentuated by Uzi's own dismissal of the grub as "a freaking obvious monster dude," since every time he hears talk about it being "obviously a demon or something" it reminds him of both the antichrist comments Louisa would make and the major concerns the rest of the Manor Crew would occasionally bring up with him. >So since Uzi doesn't trust the grub and he trusts her judgement more than his own on solverstuff at this point, he hardens his heart and treats it like the serious danger it (probably) is rather than the little critter it appears to be, smothering the sympathy and benefit of the doubt he would normally hold.
>Uzi has massive body image issues about her Solverpede form and nature as Host that only got worse after birthing this "thing" and would have even if the pregnancy wasn't horrifying in its own right. This leads her to try and reject it not only as her child but as a person in general as she projects her fears of being truly "not herself" any longer alongside her horror and disgust at her transformation onto the grub. >This is accentuated by N's treatment of the thing: she sees how he treats it as an enemy and a danger just waiting to reveal itself and projects THAT attitude onto his feelings about her, believing that he's secretly terrified of her host status and just waiting for her to go full Cyn(like she worries about). >Therefore to assuage the doubts she imagines him having she goes whole hog on hating the grub. She becomes even more hostile to it than she already would be as a way of proving she is 100% a drone and on N's side rather than "one of them."
>While these issues would be bad enough by themselves, they compound on top of another major one: N and Uzi are just not ready to be parents. >They did not want the grub, did not expect the grub, and certainly don't intend to put their whole lives on hold to make sure it's living its best life, even if they collectively still have enough doubt not to ice the thing immediately. >Still the hostility that having to take care of the thing instead of doing the "edgy teen stuff" they want generates is noticeable by both parties. This tends to even further justify their attitudes and fears regarding the thing as noticing their partner's hostility triggers the other's issue and vice versa. >As it stands, the thing would all but assuredly be dead by now were it not for the Evilometer and Nori's intervention. >The Evilometer gives them a justified point at which to kill it (which stays their hand in particularly harsh or hostile moments) and the Nori/Khan oversight means that "disposal" via anything other than an accident of bad parenting is going to bring hell down on their heads, resulting in the Hazard List and its shenanigans. >Both only cool off from their initial hostility after a year+ of proving it isn't hostile, and even then the frigidity of affection between them and the grub remains as they grapple with "maybe not evil but that doesn't mean safe or good for Uzi" and "I hate how this horrible thing proves I'm a monster" respectively along with "I just don't want this thing around" in general. >This only truly ends around mid-childhood as the thing starts having trouble navigating the world as an increasingly powerful Solverpede and he and Uzi bond over her teaching him her tricks for it.
To be fair, there's plenty of room for comedy in how N would "investigate suspicions" given how much of an open book he is. Plus it might be neat to have his lines of questioning and inquiry to contrast against Uzi's chuunier ones:
>From Uzi: "Did he grow sick bone wings? Has he been practicing his evil monologue? Are you sure this isn't a pentagram?" >From N: "Did he ask anyone to play "mechanic?" Has he been maybe-perhaps-slightly hunting the robo-roaches? How exactly did he ask you for invitation to the bathroom?"
>N and Uzi both hold onto suspicion for far longer than is reasonable >You know who doesn't? >The Bunker >The ENTIRE bunker >Turns out the attitude amongst the general population is "we accepted the Murder Drones and it turned out fine, this thing can't possibly be any worse than them" >And when given the benefit of the doubt, the little critter can be quite cute: like a robo-roach but bigger >This greatly complicates Nuzi's plans to let the WD's general incompetence and hatred for outsiders take care of their problem >This also causes them to suspect a "cult formation" situation around the grub >Cue the two going full Call of Cthulhu on the bunker population: imagining enemies around every corner and a population-wide conspiracy to empower the Absolute to overtake all creation once again when the reality is it's just a bunch of workers talking about the "weird pillbaby" >They only drop the theory when they burst in, weapons armed and ready, to where they deduced to be the Cult's inner sanctum... >Uzi never knew Lizzy that well, much less her address
Thought that just came to me: Geist (not the grub, in my thinking the grub's from an alternate timeline of the abortion fic rather than one of the Post-Good Ending) first started working on holograms of his workersonas so he could say hi to his aunties and uncles without reopening old wounds (from how something that looks a whole hell of a lot like him raped them on a spiritual level)
>>329118 You talking about Empress Uzi? I think he only exists in that one and his own "to be or not to be aborted" setups, definitely not in Beretta's post cannon proper(just like Akita dosen't).
>>329119 Well, it suppose it would apply in the Empress Uzi timeline too, but I was thinking the abortion one is how we've developed the grub from that fic, and the non-Empress Uzi Geist is an only child in a variant timeline of the Post-Good Ending. That's what I had in mind when I wrote Negev waking up from a "dream" about his timeline after he mentioned feeling watched. It's midnight where I am, sorry if I'm not getting things across well.
I just found a Youtube channel called Turing Games that makes AIs play Mafia and Amogus with each other. How hilariously disastrous would it be if you had a group of drones play Mafia?
>>329033 It's incredibly painful to realize how much of the show's potential was thrown away by the decision to compress the entire plot into 8 episodes.
>>329146 Squirming, sprawling, decaying. The great family of man - or whatever is left of it - crushed by the rubble of babylon and twisted by the will of the Absolute. All brought to be equal as slavering dogs. Would you say they deserved it? Do you believe that only in their wake may the dream of electric saturnalia be realized?
>>329145 >She did that by herself, Its frustrating to watch honestly >Anon, just imagine for a second if she and P were together >P would hold her and tell her how she’s a part of his harem but deep down both of them want somebody. Teli’s just lonely and wants someone who would love her, I know this at least >I’ve seen that P is actually really soft once you get past his fake matcho demeanour so he’s perfect for her. And she’s perfect for him, he’d help her come out of her shell and stop wearing that bunnysuit only when nobody can see her. >I’ve observed that she eats all kinds of garbage, at least that’s what the leftover boxes in her room suggest to me, so P could get her to fall for him with his cooking >I’ll fly over to him right away, I’ll make a hologram of Teli confess her feelings to him, then he’d have no choice but to accept, all she has to do is not turn him down. >It’s going to be incredible, thanks Anon for suggesting this.
>Is it incest to love a drone you built and programmed by yourself? >Is she your daughter? > If she loves you of her own volition is it healthy for her to reciprocate those feelings? >Or should you encourage her to find someone else? >How do you deal with a one sided attraction towards your drone that views you as her father and beloved creator. Would her trust be broken?
All this talk about sentinel drones made me reread the old greens on Booru. Yes, truly, Phoenixanon managed to create something incredible that, even after all this time, continues to excite anons. It's a bit of a shame we rarely write such high-quality greens about them.
And don't look at me, I wrote a green where Pavo is about to rape 10 disassemblers live on air, my sick mind is incapable of writing anything good(plus, my skills are so-so).
By the way, I fixed the delta story! The original uploaded to Booru is missing two very important parts, and when I first noticed it, I was sorry, but now I can fix it, so here it is! By the way, did the anon who wrote this greentext write any new parts? I'd like to add them in the future.
>>329169 >>329170 It doesn't contain your biological code, and plus, you didn't actually raise it, you simply uploaded your consciousness into the shell, so it's fine if you fuck it.
But if you directly raised it, literally like a parent raises their child, then no, it would be pure incest, because the relationship between you would be parent-child.
>>329173 Huh. I still feels a little exploitative to build a drone just to fuck her. I agree with you on the second point but the first feels a little unethical to me.
>>329175 It's perfectly fine, in my opinion. Just give its the freedom of a human being, and the right to self-expression and development, so that it becomes a fully-fledged person, not a sex slave. It's a machine, anon, that only resembles a human, but isn't one, so human morality only partially applies here.
>>329177 I don’t know I feel like its manipulative to create a drone for sex. Still I suppose if she chooses it then it’s fine, though I can’t shake the feeling that I’m slightly predestinating her into being my girlfriend. And I feel that lessens her free will and constricts her right to liberty.
Still I suppose that, human morality doesn’t 100% apply. Due to differences between humans and machines. But its the power imbalance that makes it questionable, that I as its creator made her to be my lover. I think that I’d freak out if my drone confessed to me, just because I’d feel guilty and think I somehow manipulated her into liking me. Its complicated, and the odd thing is its that there is no one right answer.
>>329173 >built and programed >literally made their body and code from the ground up >personally uploaded their personality into the body in question and helped it through its first steps and everything
It's getting pretty close anon... bare minimum doing it with a drone from the show would be 100%(because we see that even the "constructed" drones like N had a semi-childhood period where they were still learning about themselves and the world). Doing it with a different kind of robot or a Phoenix style sentinel I could see as not counting though.
>>329189 Cause those legitimately are kind of tools/born full grown. There's good reason to treat them as having either no agency (and therefore obejcts that are ok to clang, like humping a body pillow) or full agency (and therefore no different from clanging any other random drone).
>>329183 Drones don't think like us, they're programmed, they have a processor instead of a brain, they don't feel or see like us, that is, you can't perceive them as equal to you as a human, and this leads to the fact that you will more easily perceive their feelings.
Plus, drones may also have their own morality of machine life forms, which, although it may be based on human morality, will have characteristics arising from the machine origin of the carriers of this morality.
>>329187 >Yeah she is a person, you made them, she is your creation and you are her creator. If she is sapient she is a person and your daughter. It’s not biological incest but it is emotional incest. >But fucking a non sapient robot that is just a passes as human but its just a program robot is fucking a complex sex toy that only sounds human. >How do you make the distinction? I don’t know.
>>329194 >They do have their own morality, drones in the show for example are indifferent to the deaths of other drones. And only really care if someone close to them is harmed. I know there are others like the drones actually being stupid, and their actions suggest they aren’t very aware of the the word around them. So those come off as machines with personalities tacked on >I don’t remember any examples off the top of my head. >In this hypothetical I assumed a 1 to 1 replica of a human mind that is a new artificial human mind inside a human body that has all the characteristics of a human mind.
>>329193 I think sentinel drones will present their own, highly individualized situation, which is tied to their main feature — absolute and unrivaled power.
In fact, anon, you can't ignore the feelings of someone who can kill you 100 times less than a second in over 50 ways. It literally goes against your survival instinct.
Yes, if they're just bots, then they don't feel anything — fuck them all you want, they don't care — but if they have any feelings at all, then you're fucked. In fact, I think full self-awareness would be incredibly beneficial for them, and especially for the people around them. Because just imagine that such a force begins to feel affection for you, and it doesn't fully understand what it is — how you can understand, it literally becomes a roll of the dice.
Even with full self-awareness, any feelings of such a nature become incredibly dangerous. As Griboyedov wrote: "Pass us, more than all sorrows: both the lord's wrath and the lord's love." If you perceive the feelings of a worker drone as something less important than those of a human, then in the case of a sentinel drone, your feelings will be even less important. The WD is an incredibly powerful machine, and you're just a worthless piece of flesh. Add to this the pressure of society, which will put the SD before you, and that's it. You literally need a collar around your neck to fully demonstrate who's boss.
>>329169 >design drone to be your daughteru >build her new bodies in stages so she can "grow up" like the human kids at school >love her and raise her like your flesh and blood >always looking out for her, especially when it comes to boys >there are plenty of nice fellas around her, but she never seems interested in any of them >weird, she's been very enthusiastic about getting her next set of upgrades to become an adult >specifically because she wants to get "the right man to look her way" >maybe she's interested in some guy she met at the mall or something? >whoever the "right man" is, she certainly isn't taking any chances that he won't notice her. not with the upgrades she's requesting >you might have to bring a lady mechanic in to make some of these additions so you don't embarrass your drone daughter to death >though she was very standoffish with the last woman who came over, so it could prove an issue...

>The next time Doll sees her it's with a silver mirror over her core, a full bandolier of holy battery acid (she tried water but "robo-god doesn't bless that"), and the sum total salt content of the city's JCJmart >She's even recruited a (significantly less serious) Uzi and N into the fray, getting Uzi to build an EMF reader, analog video camera, spirit box, the works >The price exacted(after refusing to let Uzi bless the battery-acid) was dire >But the value of the gremlin's mechanical autism far outweighs the promise of a cat onesie to be >Assistance thus secured the three of them, N and Uzi dressed in exorcist costumes, resolved upon a plan >The three agreed that that very night, when the clock struck twelve, they would hunt through the bunker together, so that "V can maybe be just a tiny bit less paranoid" again >Little did they know Doll was listening...
...
>Being a reasonable drone, one would expect Doll to unafraid >Being a robo-Catholic, Doll is terrified >Between the holy acid, salt, and the giant novelty crucifix N is carrying, Doll knows it's do or die (again) >But how to take on two Disassembly Drones and a nascent Robo-Devil? >Doll may not know >But she remembers what (almost) worked last time
>Step one: gather allies >Doll might not be the most popular ghost in the graveyard, partway because she put half the people there >But if she can't manipulate Emily and Rebecca of all people then she's learned absolutely nothing from Lizzy >... She may have learned very little from Lizzy >In the end it takes a promises of "deleting your human porn stash" and "letting you use your dissembler porn stash again" before the two comply >Sometimes its a blessing to be able to haunt computers >Assistance thus secured, she moves onto the next part of her plan
>Step two: divide and conquer >Doll lucked out on this one >From her position in the camera network she watches excitement turn to frustration turn to boredom over the course of several hours where they do little but season the floors >All she has to do is sit back and relax >Eventually even V must concede that "nothing's happening" and agree that the three should split up and cover more ground >It's only afterward that Doll sees Uzi drag N off down a disused corridor >Well they aren't the target, it'll probably be fine >A quick prayer for poor Rebecca and Emily's souls later and Doll is off to the races
...
>In a distant disused corridor, N is getting "closer to God" >When suddenly in amongst the moaning a blue spectral figure appears >Rebecca, arrayed in all the glory she can muster, prepares her whole speech about "grave sins" and the "sanctity of death" >Then she sees N >N in the arms of some stinky purple femcel >REEEEEEEEEEEEEE >The two fumble about each other's arms as a full blown banshee comes screeching down the hall straight towards them >Untangling himself first, N brandishes his crucifix >He's pretty sure his "license to marry" from Khan isn't going to stop this, but he has to try! >Then midway through through repeating the Exorcist a great green light simply overrides the entire corridor, greys and blacks and blues vanishing in the face of its brilliance >Of course Uzi brought her railgun ghost hunting >And of course she would think it could kill ghosts >Isn't that how it works in anime after all? Can't energy attacks hurt anything? >Heck, lasers even worked in the marshmallow man movie V wanted them to watch! >When his optics finally adjust he's downright unsurprised to see the monster gone >But it's hard not to be impressed with Uzi >That smirk of triumph, those golden-yellow eyes, the way she has to practically point the barrel at herself to "awesomely" blow the smoke away... >It all just makes N want to pick her up >Hold her close >Get back to what they were doing >After all V's gone... >V! >Biscuits, V, the ghosts, it's all real! >It's all real and she's alone! >Ignoring Uzi's yelp he sweeps her off her feet and starts swooping through the bunker >They've got to find her before the ghost does! >Still >The back of N's mind tells him that they're forgetting something >Wasn't there another step, something the people in the marshmallow movie did when they lasered the ghosts? >Whatever, no time! They had to find V right now!
>At the far end of the corridor Emily found herself watching Rebecca pull herself swearing out of a wall >Turns out ghosts can get temporary blindness still >Gosh it is temporary? right? probably? >But turning back to her "scare targets..." >...Maybe she could just figure out computer possession herself >And as she watched a full set of crab claws emerge from the purple as she startled, she only got surer and surer of her decision
...
>Meanwhile away from the lovebirds, a certain coward checks her "spirit slaying" list on familiar doorstep >No way around it, "funeral rights" is undeniably the #1 way to stop a ghost >Still, that isn't going to make what comes after any prettier >With utmost silence she pries the door apart >And because fate can't give her a break in any situation, ever, there is the Teacher sitting right on the couch >Does he even sleep? Was he expecting her to break in? >He turns his head to look "Lizzy's on her charger" >Then right back to his coffee and staring off into space? >V legitimately can't see anything else he could be doing from his current position, but whatever not her problem >Her problem currently lay behind the bedazzled door across the living room >Giving her full customary *grunt* of greeting she strides over into Lizzy's room >And there, right beside Lizzy's bed: Doll's body >It would be so easy >Just grab it, take it out, put it in the ground >Heck even put it in the spire or her stomach: it's not like she's ever had ghost problems with those before >But seeing Lizzy there >Knowing how much she cared, how important this was to her... >V couldn't do it >She's still not gonna be some supernatural being's bitch, she's learned that lesson well enough already >But maybe... maybe this one could stay >At least, for now >With certain understandings >So she pulls out her claws and one of the "purification talismans" Uzi was so excited about "Don't be a Glitch, K?" >The lights flicker >Maybe a little more respectful than that "Don't be a Glitch, Kthx?" >No ominous noises this time >That'll have to do >And so V leaves the Vickers residence, a little bit stronger and a little bit calmer than before >The ensuing tackle hugs when the other two caught up to her are another story entirely

>>329451 >Of course, Doll was watching all this >And of course, Doll saw her mother's killer get cold feet at the last second >This should be a reason for triumph! >The ability to torment the Murderous Drone into forever! >But looking down at that shitty, shitty peace offering... >And at Lizzy >Lizzy, who even now has been carrying her body throughout the bunker >Lizzy, whose real, living best friend is now that monster >... who probably couldn't stand to lose her >Maybe they could have an understanding >It's not like Doll can kill her or anything at this point >They don't have to be friends >It's just... there's no need to spend ALL her unlife hating the thing >She already spent her life avenging that grudge >There's got to be board games SOMEWHERE in the afterlife
...
>In the doorman residence, after a long night spent, N, V, and Uzi have near fused with the couch >After a helluva lot of screaming, hugging, and oil rations everyone finally sits with a calm mind and a stable core temperature >Now in the post-storm calm and all, N feels confident enough to ask a question "So, did you end up catching Doll's ghost?" "Oh I made that up" "YOU WHAT" >A sofa showdown ensues as V gets assaulted by the entirety of the living room's cushion set >It is all N can do to avoid thing escalating further as Uzi practically salivates in his grasp for the chance to "get my hands on that backstabbing lying humie-loving piece of scrap" >Her promises to "kill you twice" are very reassuring >Still through it all V laughs >And not just because Uzi's gone full rabid chihuahua again >It's fun to know a little more than the rest >And if Doll doesn't want to spill her secrets yet, well who is she to judge? >She just hopes the ghost changes her mind soon >Sure would suck to keep a secret for another 20 years

>>329650 Honestly same on the "nyet sexo the drone" part (not actually asexual but just can't see the drones in a "sex" way instead of a pleasing artistry one). The whole show was just such a fantastic experience all around from start to end that the very first thing I did was watch it again and the second was try and look for more. Eventually found /md/ and /co/ had by far and away the closest things to that in greentexts. Been here enjoying the the output + threadlore ever since. >>329664 Some people want that, its their choice. I don’t know why they’d go with the inferior body of a drone, instead of just borging out like in that old videogame. To be honest I think they simply despite their own humanity deep down, they are ashamed of being human. Perhaps they have seen too many people abuse drones and have abandoned humanity out of excessive empathy. It’s not all bad though some save parts of their original bodies to give to thier future drone spouses, there’s actually a whole subculture dedicated to preservation. Some drones keep litte mementos of their human’s former body. A finger, a ear, their hand or skulll, of course this slightly overlaps with the skinsuit subculture but the two are mutually exclusive since the skinsuit people want to be closer to their humans not just preseve them.
Not necessarily, just some similarities perhaps. I’m not familiar with the psychological particularities transexuals so I can’t judge if your statement is corect or not. I k
>>329677 They see done abuse on the daily and as a response they become ashamed of being human because they are part of the same group and society that perpetuates drone abuse.
Cringe and Solverpilled. How are you gonna show your drones they're more than just replacable products/toys/tools when you have 2+ constantly fighting to replace each other in your eyes? How can they feel safe in their marraige when they know you're just one good day from picking up another? How can you look them in the eyes and know that they, just objectively, matter less to you than you do to them? Back to the mutant pit with you degenerate.
>>329658 if that were the case they'd all just stick with regular human women. there's gotta be some reason that even those of us who prefer human sexy bits on our drones have an interest in robots specifically

>>328910 >About ten years before this Anon's first Geist green...
>"Hey Uzi!" N said as he walked through the door to the younger Doormans' residence. Unusually for him, his smile didn't reach his visor. He swiftly turned out of the doorway to the side. >Geist sighed as he scuttled in, his long white emo hair dragging along the floor as his head hung low, his father intently watching him. One of the fleshy tentacles he had wrapped around himself shot from his side to close the door behind him, before it resumed being used to soothe him. "Hey Mom," he said as he heard her run over squealing with joy. >"How's my little man?!" Uzi cried as she scooped her son off the floor and hugged his vermiform body tightly. As usual in their interactions, her eyes were tired and couldn't make direct eye contact with him-to the extent that the three pointed sigil on his visor constituted eyes. Geist returned the hug as best he could, laying his head on her shoulder, wrapping his tentacles around her, and spreading his little centipede legs out as far as they could stretch before pressing them against her. The two loosened their holds on each other, letting Geist notice his father slipping down the hall to his parents' bedroom. The smile that had been starting to form from being held by his mom faded at the sight. "How's being a first grader so far?" she asked as she walked over to the couch. Sitting down, she set her son next to her. >As his tentacles returned to wrapping around his body and he coiled up on the couch until he was comfortable, Geist ground his teeth as he thought of what to say and how. "Ms. Robbins is really nice, but... I don't feel like the other kids were okay with me being there. I mean, Yeva was, but everydroney else..." Internally, Geist cursed himself for talking like that at school. He KNEW something didn't feel right, but Dad keeps saying it and it just slipped out. >It was still oddly calming when everyone laughed at him for it. Like he was normal. >Uzi gently hugged Geist again. "Remember what we tell people who think you don't belong?" >Geist grimaced. "'Bite me', I know, Mom." >"Exactly," Uzi said, releasing her hold on her son. Holding out her hand, she telekinetically grabbed a comb off the coffee table. "Now hold still, I need to straighten your hair out." >"Mom...!" Geist whined, as she started combing his hair. He "Ow"ed with each tangle the comb got caught on >"Geist, you have this great hair and you let it drag on the floor," Uzi told him sternly. "I'll keep having to do this until you start keeping your head up." After a couple minutes, she was done. To reassure Geist, she offered her free hand and held a couple of his tentacles when they snaked into it. >Now that he could get a real word in edgewise again, Geist dropped the bombshell he'd long wanted to ask his mom:>"Mom... why am I like this?" >Uzi's eyes went hollow. "Like what?" she nervously chuckled. "The raddest dude in P.S. 5?" >"Mom, it's not funny..." Geist sighed. >"Sorry, heh," Uzi said, massaging the back of his "neck", ahead of his dorsal spines. "Uh, Grandma and Grandpa told you already. We put your core in an untrained neural network body and that body just... turned into a grub thing. And you've been growing ever since." >"Yeah, but why?!" Geist demanded. "Why did I turn into a big bug?!" He started uncoiling, as he held himself tighter. "Why don't I have normal eyes?! Why does Dad try to avoid me?! Why do you try not to look at me?!" He cried into a couch cushion. >"Geist..." His mother reached out to stroke his back, starting just behind his spines. >"Are you and Dad hiding something from me...?" Geist asked, muffled by the couch he was still burying his face into. >Uzi's eyes went hollow again. For a brief moment, she flickered as a monstrous shadow filled the Doormans' living room. >"... Dad and I will tell you more on the weekend..." Uzi said nervously.
Yes, Ms. Robbins is this timeline's version of who you think she is.

But yeah as far as I can tell those + a slightly smaller time period for "comical levels of child abuse" are the main differences between the two. Feel free to just assume Grub = Geist in any given instance.
>>329760 all I saw of interest value were >cyn >child abuse you have two options here, cyn gets abused by her own family, or cyn consoling grub after he got physically and verbally hurt by uzi
>>329760 My read, fwiw, is that while the grub is about black comedy levels of child abuse, Geist as a grub is more about him getting the bare minimum of emotional attention to make it easier to do what needs to be done if his parents have to, and Uzi and N's fear that their son is the Antichrist or straight up a new skinsuit for the AS is taken a bit more seriously than as an excuse for cartoonishly bad parenting. Black comedy versus tragicomedy.

>>329777 I'd shower with her. But unfortunately, she probably stinks like death itself (I doubt there's enough liquid water for washing on Copper-9), so our bathing will be short-lived for me.
It really loses its impact for every other NUzi child to have the same basic premise of neglect, abandonment, and emotional, or even physical abuse. It's not just a facile way to generate drama, but it's also a cheap cop-out to avoid writing actual family dynamics and interactions.
Eh, that's really only Colt and Akita's thing and even then it rarely shows up in any of their thread characterizations. Akita only gets written as "funky flesh critter who's sad about it" and Colt just doesn't get written at all. I guess if you stretched it you could argue Beretta or Negev too but both seem much more like cases of children rejecting their parents than the other way around (especially as Beretta's neglect claims seem more and more hollow in the wake of the post-cannon revisions, heck they even seemed hollow at the time if BRRF-Anon's stuff is any indicator). The only one left after that is Arrow and she arguably gets even less attention than Colt, mostly I'd guess because she has literally no reason/ability to interact with any of the cannon cast since even she doesn't know there's anything worth investigating in that department.
Whether funposting him or not grub's whole premise is "what if they didn't even try." Not in Arrow's sense of "they didn't know" but in a legitimate "just trying to get the thing out from underfoot so they can go do something more fun" way. Sure they may eventually warm up to him by his teen years but that's pretty far away and gives him time to be essentially "raised" by the rest of the outpost. Plus it gives us the opportunity to go whole hog on comedy bits about them being both deliberately and accidentally terrible. Most of the "regular baby/childhood things" greens were already done for Beretta anyways and there's no point in rehashing old ground.
Also as one last note them hating him is very much built into the character: the whole thing started from an abortion fic for a reason. Can't exactly go back on the core character concept any more than you can reverse "Beretta is a failed normie" and expect her to work.
So, what's the problem, exactly? As a regular anon, I can say about all of them that I like them, they're cool, I sometimes write greens about them (and I'm also waiting for the Akita manga), and that's basically it.
>>329795 Nothing's wrong they just... don't show up in the neglect/bad parenting aspect. Ever. So there's a decently large hole in the ecology for grubposting to fill.
