I want to start by saying that Curly would be the absolute best kind of mom, she would dote on her and Grimm's kids constantly and make sure they each get an equal amount of attention while creating the safest most loving home possible for them to live in. All the while introducing them to a new baby sibling each year, of course.

Curly will DIE and Grimm will be a heartbroken man.
There won’t be any children, large family or wedding ceremony.
Grimm will be alone and SAD, he won’t ever get to live a comfy life alongside his schizo’s.

HE WILL BE A SCHIZOPHRENIC WITH A BROKEN HEART.

I don't really care about the happy ending that these two get, what do happy endings lead to anyway? A happy ever after? Bah, that's none of my interest.
I simply find it more enjoyable because there's more scenarios to play than the mere one that's present with the decease of Curly.

Better question: Which characters do you hope can break all odds and at least make the E8 next year? Characters that jobbed R1 and ones that jobbed just before E8 alike.
For me it's Agent 47 and Zero, it's just a shame the amount of characters I like is too big for me to push them all simultaneously.

Would be nice to see Mario actually make it. He got literally shit on by Jack Frost last year, and even if he had beaten Jacket this year a loss against Grimm the following round seemed quite probable in hindsight. Assume Zelda and Metal Gear will each have only one spot next year? Zelda likely won't take advantage of her sole spot, but then again Midna was always the strongest pick from there. Raiden will most likely be the MGS pick, but does suck for other picks. Only real shock I could see throwing it off is Big Boss if Delta actually had that big an impact on qualifiers.

I think the Elite Eight rule is fine, but they should remove the permanent winner limit. While Balls departing may have had some effect, kind of irked the hosts never asked about it properly in either finals this year. Until they ask it directly with no loaded questions, it's going to feel like a bullshit restriction to keep around.

Yeah. I feel a winner restriction is different enough from an one-year Elite Eight slot removal where this question was hardly the best authority. General consensus was that we'd only be doing the latter, yet come 2022 people were blindsided when Raiden was suddenly barred in King of /v/. No idea if they decided to not stack two restrictions on Touhou that year, just forgot, or just didn't have a clear consensus. Regardless, it's irritating how apparently these awful polls were enough for the hosts to feel the rule was justified enough to ignore any dissent. There's cases where open questions can be better, but this is not one of those cases. I saw people talking about E8 and the winner separate before these forms went up, so why not have TWO questions to cover both individually?

Hosts, if you see this, this is dumb as fuck and due for a revisit.

Nah. This is still a character tournament not a campaigner tournament and Hex does not have one. Only reason I ever voted for her besides him is because of the titty milk porn, and even that's a huge stretch since she just sells milk in the games. Battler only really exists in the Umineko sound novel, its fighting game spinoff and the manga/anime adaptations. It's a fun ride, but it's extremely long. Battler's entire thing is about crawling up from the lowest point possible after the witches keep beating down on him, but it's done so well that it engages you pretty much every time.
If you wanna start it, try the steam versions of the sound novel (or torrent them) for the original experience. The PS3 version is more of a bonus, with voice acting and new CGs, but it's not the authentic experience.

The shit /v/ has to deal with is like if some faggot who knows nothing about /co/ banned ENA for being "trans" because she has a masculine voice, or Bugs Bunny because of the gags involving him in drag, while allowing Walter White and Donald Trump to be whitelisted because they appeared in a comic.

Hey lads, I have been waiting for someone to make a Suffering Chart for King and Queen this year, however it seems it was not even started. So I am looking to make a base for it in paint, and when it is finished someone with editing skills to make it look proper with actual images and a background.
I think characters should be placed based on a combination of story from their games and stories/events during the tournaments.

To test the waters I think we should start with the placements of the hosts + Psyanon and Bill Clinton and after sorting them out move one to Kings/Queens, then E8 members and etc.
If you want to recommend a place for someone write the numbers as -how much suffering they deserve-/-suffering they get- and some of the reasons, I'll look the responses to the suggestions, then write the names into the squares.

95/10; Power tripping faggot who is responsible for every horrible decision and error, never takes responsibility and gets away with it every time. Does get raped sometimes but if the rumors are true he's actually the one pushing for himself to get raped because he's into it
>Psyanon
5/80; Just an innocent guy trying to work hard to give to the anons and contribute to the tournaments with his radio shows, but for all his contributions gets used as a tool for NSA's retarded decisions and gets infected with the ligma virus. I miss him already
>Reimu
45/75; Repeatedly got the shit beaten out of her by Scout and now sees him in her nightmares, but to be fair she did try to rig the polls so she had it coming
>Nyarlathotep
100/20; Responsible for anything and everything that shits up the tournaments; laughs as everyone else suffers. He did get punished by being cucked in the qualifiers but he just used that as a pretext to hijack the Bottom 128 tournament. He can't keep getting away with this

Geralt is a character that has went through a damn lot in his near century worth of life. From being brutally trained since he was a toddler, going through the trial of the grasses, nearly dying every single day to earn a living, actually straight up dying, having his loved one die separated, forgetting everything, getting manipulated by a loved one, killing his best friends due to amnesia and if player decides for the bad ending, having nobody love him and the one he searched the most, die unceremoniously and failing to stop the end of the world.
This is a fraction of what Geralt has endured in his life and while not a saint, he never wanted to do any evil to anybody. It just is the fact he crosses roads with the most dangerous beings in the world (Literally, on multiple occasions).

It is also his tournament history, where was denied entry into the tournament for the biggest double standard in tournament history, allowing AM in and not Geralt. When he was whitelisted he failed to qualify for King /v/ 2022 and in 2023 he was unfortunately faced with Eggman who not only did he have no chance in hell of beating, but had the unfortunate drama with Samposter.
Personally I'd rank Geralt in 90-95 in suffering and 10-15 in terms of deserved.

There’s a lot of these, but can get started here.

>Malon
60/15. The 60 is due to her pact with the Devil to get 666 votes this year.
>Roll
15/60. She DID get possessed by SHODAN after all.
>Amaterasu
30/80. She got muzzled, slandered, and cucked out of a normal finals. That’s not to mention her awful luck in the past going against Samus in year one and Midna in year four.
>Muffet
20/85. Doesn’t have to be THAT high, but an upper score is a given with what happened this year.
>Shantae
70/15. She’s a silent yet deadly killer.
>Madotsuki
20/65. Two words: Shantae and jellyfish.
>Cirno
60/40. She lost to Ammy by two votes in 2020 and may never be taken as much a serious pick to outright win, but she’s also gotten off the hook a lot.

>Wario
35/25. He’s just here for a good time and got furry goddess sex this year. His double Eggman losses are lessened by the two being bros.
>Snake
30/80. He’s in pain, but should be lower than Raiden.
>Jack Frost
95/35. A real villain if I’ve ever seen one!
>Morshu
30/30. He was hit by the merchant guild’s destruction, but still mainly pushes forward with an honest living that offsets his greed.
>Doomguy
40/75. I was leaning on this range anyways for other reasons, but the Agent 47 joke seals the deal.

Both Dante and Reimu were popular characters who won not necessarily off of OC-based campaigns. Dante didn't receive tons of OC compared to most of his opponents from what I remember and Queen /v/ 2020 in general didn't have tons of OC since it was basically the tourney that popularized the /v/ tournaments and was mostly just funposting about the girls intercut with OC here and there.
You can just check their booru counts compared to the later queens or finalists (easiest to do with Recette or Madotsuki on the old booru) and the comparison becomes pretty easy.
I'd say they were pretty similar to Armstrong and Samus in that vein. I remember more OC for Vergil than Dante, hell it was probably Vergil's most active tournament.

Much as I wish Isaac did make it, it's at least funny how Snake ended up being the sole Fortnite pick in either Elite Eight from /v/. Keep in mind he's not actually playable until next month. Hoping that Raiden also joins him with MGS2 and MGS4 styles.

Actually, with Raven/Harley in Ms. /co/ and Optimus Prime in Mr. /co/, we were actually close to getting at least one Fortnite pick from each major tournament. Cammy was close, but hard to see how she could have actually beaten Ammy.

Wright is something like 30-35 suffering and 5-10 deserving. He's been on trial multiple times for murders he didn't commit, had his attorney's badge taken after being tricked into presenting forged evidence, and was manipulated heavily by one of his exes, and the worst he did was defend someone who was guilty and gamble heavily after he lost his badge.
Edgeworth is 40-45 suffering and 20-25 deserving. His father was murdered when he was a kid and he thought for years that he was the one to kill him and then had a tough childhood when he was adopted by von Karma, but he also sent numerous innocent people to prison just so he could have a good record.
Maya would go right next to Wright since she's also been put on trial for several murders she didn't commit, including her own sister, and had to deal with some of the worst family drama.

Put Dracula at 100/35. As cool as the OC was and I get that some of it was just referencing Black Souls, but that finale still annoyed me by both being a repeat and people trying to portray Grimm as the underdog when it was clear if you looked at it from more than one point of view that Eggman was the underdog. Grimm had the biggest tournament alliance ever backing him, the fans of several characters he beat backing him, and was from one of the two genres that always wins King with the only thing that might have held Grimm back is his game being obscure, but it is still very /v/core. Some people complained about schizos, but Grimm winning is what it took for people to get really assblasted about them. Eggman had Wariobros and more stigmas against him than Grimm like being a former runner-up, being joked about as a jobber way more over the years, and being from Sonic. While I did expect Eggman to get further than Grimm at the tournament start with how poorly Grimm normally does, I did not expect him to get as far as he did and had little faith he could actually win even with Hexanon supporting him. I had almost no faith he could actually beat Grimm when it came to finals. Reminder that underdog doesn't necessarily just mean less popular and means more expected to lose. I don't even think you should just give pity to underdogs, but deceiving people about who is the underdog is in a match is messed up.
>>78463
I'm not going to vote against action/rpg characters only because they are from those genres. I like Giygas who is both an rpg character and in the schizo alliance if that means anything. However, I don't care if he wins and if there is a match I don't have much stakes in or like both characters equally, I'm going with the one that isn't an action/rpg character.

This is an important distinction about underdogs. Tournament meta gets to the point being an "underdog" is actually an advantage, and being "obvious" and a "powerhouse" paradoxically starts making a character an underdog. You see this often in both boards any time after the second year. I was fairly certain Hornet was actually gonna beat Midna last year for these reasons, but by the finale the activity for the two ended up being even. It was much more apparent Grimm was winning this his tourney though as the activity was strongly in his favor. The threads basically turning into BS let's plays sealed it. You couldn't really call him an underdog by that point as his traction was massive.

Suffering he deserves: 20-30 — the radio drama reveals he did consume a bit of human blood earlier in his life, and it's heavily implied he turned his servant into a vampire. However, it's very clear he regrets that, and he was really dedicated into fighting evil and repenting for his mistakes, to the point he decided to put himself to an eternal slumber purely out of his own.
Suffering he endures: 65-75 — He was a massively self-hating autist wanting to purge the world of his cursed bloodline, witnessed the death of his mother and had to kill his father twice. Luckily Maria seemed to tone down his autism and their relationship gave him a new perspective on life. As for the torunaments, he lost in round 2 three times in a row which isn't as bad as others, but still pretty sad. Luckily he managed to gather some trustworthy friends. Also shitflix, I hope Warren Ellis lives a miserable life now

I would still say Grimm was the underdog, at least compared to Eggman. Eggman really only had one difficult matchup before the finals that being Wario. All of his other matches were 58%+ victories. In comparison Grimm's biggest victory was 58% against Eggman thanks to the momentum gained from some very strong opponents. Sephiroth and Cortex were not that strong but Jacket could have won with just one more good OC to sway the voters. Spy was nothing special but Scout and John both had amazing

Fuck me I'm retarded
They both had amazing campaigns to the point it was not sure who was going to win. And when it was all said and done, their campaigners joined in on the fun thus creating a powerhouse. I think it also helped that Grimm's OC was a lot more ''respectful'' to his opponents such as them being nice to eachother and portrayed as an actual threat. Now compare that to Eggman brutalizing and obliterating Kiryu.

This sucks. Eggman shouldn’t be scrutinized for acting in character. The Shonen tier “power of friendship” is a cheap tactic for gaining supporters of who you beat and it makes the finals a lame one-sided “underdog” and friends vs the big bad villain

Gotta ask, what's a good way to differentiate between "The character I love is kind of a dick, and will be a dick to your character should they meet" and "I'm kind of a dick, and I hate you/don't think you're worth my trouble". The former can work great, the latter can turn out horribly.
Might as well be transparent, I really want to give Wario another shot in 2024, and while he'll get along well enough to play Mario party or help rescue Peach in Mario 64 DS, it's never been a secret he'll also employ ridiculous schemes to get his way. He does things like dropping buckets on Mario's head or forcibly interjecting himself into a tennis tournament. There's a lot of overlap between Wario and Eggman in fan appeal so seems like an appropriate situation to ask.

I've campaigned for characters that fit the former in both /co/ and /v/ tournaments, and the trick is to just make it clear that you're RPing/not being serious. A speech quirk is an easy way to show that, for example how Scout has a thick Boston accent or how Skeletor tends to use alliteration when insulting someone. I think your art already fits that well with Wario fighting his enemies in goofy ways, so you can try playing that up more if you want.

(It would also be deeply hypocritical if that was the case, even if that's not always a deterrent.) I'm leaning more on it just being general Rayman hate or what >>79321 said.

I do feel Ramon was key to him getting a decent chunk of silent voters behind him, but even if that was the case I don't really care. Judging by Black Hat, Zim, and Albert Wesker, OFA's type is basic bitch tumblr sexymen villains. The only two that come close to that on the list are Shadow who is an anti-hero, furry that lost to Rayman long before E8, and William Afton who lost to Donkey Kong and the Silent Majority.

Would suck if it was William Afton. I would have campaigned for him more the round he lost had I not had focus shifted away to another match-up that round. Still, I do doubt it was him. Even beyond his early elimination, he seems a bit too out the wall of OFA's support base outside surface level "Tumblr sexyman" syndrome. He's also known about as much if not more for his furry-adjacent Springtrap appearance nowadays compared to Purple Guy.

>He's not talking about the haters. He's talking about the guys seething over AM and Ammy not being loved by everyone and accusing everyone else of posting their distain.
>This. Why are AMaterasu fags so schizophrenic?
>Ammy and AM fags have history of being sore losers. Just look at the melties they've had in these tournaments
>It's actually true. They're been playing as "wholesome" but seethe the moment you point out how disingenuous they are.
And then starts obsessing over /tnt/ out of nowhere
>Ammyfags have had full on meltdowns since Queen. Even now you can see them in /tnt/ playing damage control. It probably all the same fag too.
>Wariofag is also Ammyfag. It makes sense now he's also a /tnt/ junkie. The golden cows of /tnt/. No wonder they get so defensive.

People generally tend to get more desperate during the Elite 8/Top 16, I mean those rounds feel like the most important since it's the last real stranglehold silentfagging can get. Nobody makes it to finals quiet, but they can get to semifinals quiet. Stakes are way higher too, if you lose top 16 you just missed out on E8 immortality and you lose top 8 you're put into the two-year timeout. Semifinals usually all four characters left get a bunch of drawfags and by finals it's pretty much decided by which loss sat better with the losing semifinalists. I'm not saying it wasn't him, Wasn't me I like Rayman but sometimes people just to try to use every tactic they can get against their opponent

In a city named Franecker, located in West Friesland, some young boys and girls between the ages of five and six happened to be playing with one another. They chose one boy to play a butcher, another boy to play was to be a cook, and a third boy was to be a pig. Then they chose one girl to be a cook and another girl her assistant. The assistant was to catch the blood of the pig in a little bowl so they could make sausages. As agreed, the butcher now fell upon the little boy playing the pig, threw him to the ground, and slit his throat open with a knife, while the assistant cook caught the blood in her little bowl. A councilman was walking nearby and saw this wretched act. He immediately took the butcher with him and led him into the house of the mayor, who instantly summoned the entire council. They deliberated about this incident and did not know what they should do to the boy, for they realized it had all been part of a children's game. One of the councilmen, an old wise man, advised the chief judge to take a beautiful red apple in one hand and a Rhenish gulden in the other. Then he was to call the boy and stretch out his hands to him. If the boy took the apple, he was to be set free. If he took the gulden, he was to be killed. The judge took the wise man's advice, and the boy grabbed the apple with a laugh. Thus he was set free without any punishment.
There once was a father who slaughtered a pig, and his children saw that. In the afternoon, when they began playing, one child said to the other, "you be the little pig, and I'll be the butcher." He then took a shiny knife and slit his little brother's throat. Their mother was upstairs in a room bathing another child, and when she heard the cries of her son, she immediately ran downstairs. Upon seeing what had happened, she took the knife out of her son's throat and was so enraged that she stabbed the heart of the other boy, who had been playing the butcher. Then she quickly ran back to the room to tend to her child in the bathtub, but while she was gone, he had drowned in the tub. Now the woman became so frightened and desperate that she did not allow the neighbors to comfort her and finally hung herself. When her husband came back from the fields and saw everything, he became so despondent that he died soon after.

That is a SUPER weird one. My guesses are-
>He's always been a stickler for "the rules", and AM isn't strictly vidya above all else like Super Mario, Bayonetta, Link, Kiryu, Raiden, Wario, Armstrong, Purple Guy, Donkey Kong, Amaterasu, Rayman, Demi-fiend, Jack Garland, Curly, Eggman etc
>BUT- we know he has shitty entry-level understanding of vidya, as he seemed genuinely ignorant for why very few people give a shit about the fact Geralt was originally a book character, why people weren't happy with including the Cyberpunk anime Rebecca, why people thought it was stupid that X, the titular star of at least a dozen games had to be whitelisted. We've seen this given his very stupid whitelist poll, that had stuff like Tony Hawk, Mike Tyson, John Madden. As such, he could've been genuinely ignorant and thought we let something like George Constanza into Mr /co/ or Barry B Benson into King /v/
>He could just be the sad case of voting with dick above all else. OFA's art is largely pretty sexually charged regardless of gender, and AM is as sexless as you can depict sapience with physical form as even being. You have to turn AM into something completely different to give him an erotic factor, he's an angry block and absolutely nothing about the character is meant to invoke ideas of fetish, arousal. It's completely removed from that particular biological imperative, "he" if that's even a proper classification is a machine and damn proud of it.

Or maybe given his SHARP 180 towards Amaterasu, maybe an AM drawfag or some AM posts criticized his ego like what happened with Ammy. If he was petty enough to keep bitching about Amaterasu in king, when it was one of the most well-liked Kings in general, he's definitely petty to bitch about what an square did to him a year ago.

Actually no you didn't. You had to be there. In round 3 of that tournament, most of the vocal teams got eliminated and a lot of people were upset by this. There was a theory the reason almost all the thread popular teams got eliminated is because /trash/ might have raided us after one of the nominations or qualifiers threads, but I forget which, got moved there. Temp talked to the mods and they said tournaments were not allowed on the site then they permabanned him for some reason we still don't know, causing him to quit leading to Coayynon and Samaritanon to start hosting. This event is actually what caused people to believe NSA was needed to keep the tournaments from being banned because he later talked to the mods and cleared things up. Anyway, the reason people think /trash/ raided us other than the thread being moved there and round 3 was because they started a thread complaining that /tnt/ and Temp killed the tournaments, there being more votes than posts in some rounds, some furry picks getting further than expected, the winners being Goth Chicks, and Goth Chicks having blowouts bigger than most champions. The template anon believed the tournament was rigged too.

Goth Chicks had an active campaigner too, but because of everything else and their results, a lot of people including me thought the team was suspicious. It wasn't just them. A lot of people also thought Tyr'ahnee's team with Mirage was suspicious too and they were the ones that beat the Plunderers so that's where some more people try to pin the blame on the Plunderers for the threads becoming miserable.

>popular picks.... IN THE POPULARITY CONTEST?
Also consider there's an entire year wait, a lot of people want safe fallbacks rather than something that going to just lose round 1 because it's either too obscure or too controversial. Doesn't stop Snoot Fang, Cirno, and Loona from being blowout losses every year though, but I appreciate them trying.

NIS basically functions as an indie company, I thought it was too before I played it
The japanese fanbase for that game is SUPER dedicated, there is seriously a constant outflow of art and comics made for that game from a ton of different artists. Considering the conflict and plot reveal That Mad Rat's conflict is in no way exclusive to him, in fact it could be an issue involving billions it's baffling why they haven't tried to make a sequel or SOMETHING out of it to make more money. I really don't play anything else by them, I know they're the Disgaea devs but whenever I see them brought up on /v/ someone is always lamenting some painfully stupid marketing.development decision to ignore easy money or publicitly yet again

Deserved comes from being Nintendo’s mascot with all that entails, “IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME”, and of course being Wario’s childhood bully. (40 puts him one spot above Wario in deserved.)

Since she's supposed to represent the crew of the ship, her deservedness is notably lower than Torres, but she'd still be an "extremist" pawn.
Probably at 60 deserved, 70 suffering based on what happens in AC7 her total destruction, of course
The team she had with Torres also lost just before the Elite 8 in Co-Op, so I guess that further motivates the suffering to be very close with Torres. She was also made to dress up as Alice, but I don't know how bad that would be. Maybe bump it to 75 or 80.

Pointless reply to the second post because it bugs me. X is completely legal under the rules. He doesn't fall under the alternate version rules because he is from the same timeline as the original Megaman and is a completely different person. Both were built by Dr. Light and X was made as a successor to Megaman, but isn't Megaman. This is the equivalent of banning a relative to another character because they have a lot of similarities which NSA actually tried to do with Nega.
No.79672
Anonymous
>>79669
Even if they have a lot of similarities they're pretty much completely different characters from their originals anyway. Eggman even meets Classic Eggman in Generations and they act the same. Nega is different. NSA was pretty much viewing X as a sort of replaceable protagonist who is just a different version of Rock. I can't even think of many protagonist that "fit" that description outside of something like Paper Mario maybe.

Another case where X's status would be reflected in would be in the various "Cids" in Final Fantasy as an example. One of them is even their own unique villain, all they do otherwise is share a name.
It'd be kind of like barring Nagase from Ace Combat 2 because Nagase from Ace Combat 5 exists, or Nagase from Ridge Racer exists. All different characters with an intentionally similar name as a bit of a gag and also in the same continuity.

Speaking of Steve put him at 70/70, he's been starting shit on /v/ for ages but at least he got his comeuppance by being a round 1 jobber for years and then not even qualifying this year (KWAB)
Also I think I finally found our 5/5: Trivia Monster, he was never going to qualify for 128 but at least made it into bottom and proceeded to host a badass trivia show that everyone respected, proceeded to win the tournament and claim that Angel chick as his prize.

My point with Nega is that he is not an alternate Eggman, but Eggman's relative. X and Nega are legally different characters because they serve as relatives to the original while Paper Mario is an iteration of Mario because he is supposed to be Mario in a different universe, though Nega being legally distinct is because of a retcon. I think a better comparison to banning X and Nega would be like if he banned Luigi. Luigi started out as just a palette swap of Mario for the second player they called Mario's brother.

>Hexfag
10 or 15/20. Hex is a controversial pick to get behind, but he also didn't do anything particularly bad. People did point out how some of his art felt TOO centric on one pick instead of the tournament, but he actually corrected this afterwards. He suffered at least somewhat from people outright fearing his presence due to the OC output, got a few false accusations of using AI, and obviously had his pick get a lot of flack. Still, most did respect him and he didn't get anything really bad that happened. (OFA would have gone higher before what all came out, although don't mind them being a separate spot regardless as a joke.)

>Gardevoir
55/45. The deserved part mostly stems from her largely qualifying over other Pokémon picks as a primarily coom pick, and while she has a couple vocal supporters they've never provided the same kind of OC output as Hex Maniac. The 40 comes from her being screwed out of Elite Eight by NSA's gaffe, basically being a lite version of Muffet.

>Tifa
65/70. Most of that deserved score is from her most vocal supporter having a massive meltdown after her loss that's still remembered to this day. She's also a painfully silent pick to the point that it's become a joke, similar to Shantae. On the other end, Reimu gave her one of the harshest defeats out of any runner-up and even humiliated her after quite literally sitting on her. Certain events in her home series also support this score.

>Waluigi
25/75. Despite playing dirty in a few instances in canon, he's mostly an honest loser. I would still say his mischief brings him up somewhat even if some of it might be an act, and he was the one who cucked Mario out of a spot in 2021. Still, what's more interesting is his suffering. His whole existence in terms of both the tournaments and canon is to be cucked out of the spotlight. He's lost Round 1 all three times he's been in these tournaments, with this year being a close call. I'm pretty sure he lost in LB around the same time as Wario, which is rough poetic irony. After 2021, he in turn lost his spot the following year. This year then put him in hot water over him making the bracket due to a loophole with Mario Tennis. People got pissed and questioned his inclusion alongside Geno. In the current moment, he's seen as simply overshadowed by the other plumber clan men in King of /v/. He's absolutely suffering.

>Giygas
80/100. This is a hard one to discuss how much he deserved. He's absolutely in the more deserving half, don't get it twisted here. Still, despite being consumed by evil in his second appearance, there are hints that he was largely just raised to be a soldier under his alien race. He has some sympathy since it's that very trait (stemming from love towards his adoptive mother) which defeats him in the first two Mother games. Still, he didn't resist his mission regardless of conditioning, and more importantly his influence on others is absolutely negative. I'd call him an unwitting evil in some regards and by EarthBound he's nearly braindead malice (an almighty idiot), but regardless he definitely deserves a lot of his suffering. Could even push for a 90. As for suffering, his ultimate fate alone should put him at the top. That's not hard to explain. Could argue he doesn't have enough just off the tournaments, but I'd also consider him close to an embodiment of pain.

Here's everyone that AM has actually beaten thus far.

>Alex Eggleston
While he's garnered somewhat more sympathy after this year, this was back in 2021. He was even more of a joke back then than he is right now. Alex losing was not a cause for shock.
>Baba
While its game is generally beloved on /v/, Baba is also not that deep of a pick. I do remember some OC going around in 2021, but not enough where AM beating it was a massive blow to campaigning. Never seen people really bitch about Baba losing.
>Demi-fiend
I know for a fact this one was hotly debated, but it also got a couple kino pieces of OC around the match-up. If anything, I'd actually say this match might have set the seeds for Demi-fiend to get more active campaigning afterwards. He lost to Isaac Clarke in 2022, so we finally saw his true potential just this year. Off of that, the only salt I've ever seen from DF's camp was over Jack Frost being in Elite Eight over a more serious SMT pick. 2023 has largely rectified that, however.

It's pretty known that Kiryu defeated AM in 2021.

>Dracula
He's had some attempts at pushing him over the years, yet at the same time I recall him being quiet in 2022. I feel the Grimm match-up made him more memorable the previous year.
>Gene
A lot on /v/ love God Hand for good reason, but Gene is a very silent pick. Not much to add here.
>Captain Falcon
The silent majority joke was very memorable. It's good to remember it largely came about because of this match. The more I go through this, the more I realize that AM has actually had a great effect on other candidates. Regardless, point here is that Captain Falcon didn't really have much of a campaign at this point.
>Vergil
He's been painfully silent every since Dante's win in 2020. This loss was more than warranted, and acting like he was this big campaign pick is just a lie.
>Wesker
We've already gone over this one a lot.

AM lost to both Garland and JC in the final two rounds. Point here is that there aren't many potential campaigns you could really say AM screwed up. Personal preferences is another matter since some big faces were taken down, but considering Wesker is one of the few long-term campaigns AM took out it's not looking good for OFA in this case.

On a side note, it hit me that we could have seen Grimm face Eggman back in 2021 in another timeline. Imagine that.

While we're talking about him, how many people here would actually be upset if AM won the tournament next year? I've seen some people debating the worth of his video game adaptation or arguing he'd overlap too much with Batter and Grimm, but I'm curious if that's more of a vocal minority or not.

I started the joke of him hating Grimm and teaming up with Lorde that year early on but I switched over to someone else once round 1 had started. I brought it back in Co-op because halfway through the interim I remembered it and thought it would be fun to start it up again.

I'm not a PMfag, but the issue is despite a lot of fans hating her, as far as I know she's one of the faces of the series so silentfags are more likely to vote for her just because. It's the same reason Sonic got in despite Sonic fans themselves being glad he wasn't nominated and distraught when he was.

If he stands out on his own he'd make a lot of sense as a winner, and it'd FINALLY be some game variety after nothing but RPGs and Action guys. I think the only real gripe against AM was when Grimm at the last moment pretty shamelessly repeated 2021's finale, people really don't want that a third time being he's also a /v/ schizo, and by far the most notable member of the schizo alliance left. King /v/ already feels the most circlejerky out of the four tournaments, four schizo alliance winners in a row would just feel like "king /v/ tournament general", not" king /v/ tournament". The mood would be REALLY soured for 2025, I wouldn't be surprised if participation would absolutely tank. But he's not set in stone either, this will be the first time in a while both Ace Attorney protags are together which is going to cause a lot of back-and-forth roleplay, Travis is back, Wario can very likely carry Eggman's energy, TF2 is always anxious to do something, JC Denton will be back, and then there's Jobbler.

Okay, while this is possible, I do doubt it. It's a really specific thing to fake, and on top of that it's good to remember that the silent majority's general tastes affect the 3rd-8th rankings far more than a direct match-up. Scout did have a memorable campaign as well, but /v/'s love for TF2 also helped a lot. Rayman on the other hand might have blended together too much with other platforming mascots, likely didn't top TF2/MGS/LAD for quite a few anons, and could have had slight misconception over how Ramon factored into his success this year. Point is that a lot of rankings don't reflect more vocal opinions and Rayman getting 8th wasn't that much of a fluke.

Had he been against any other finalist there would likely be no repeats. In fact, I'm somewhat sad that he didn't get to face Demi-Fiend in the finals, I'm really curious how THAT matchup would play out. 4 niggas in a row protags with fairy companions would surely lead to some kino.

I kind of knew AM wouldn't get past Jack when I was campaigning him in 2022 (and I frankly didn't have the time or skill to pull off that many serious drawings) but what I did back then was go for what he was known for. His opponents are all (usually) mortal creatures who can think and feel unlike him, so if he "takes their strength" I made it so that he only takes it in pursuit of his own freedom. It adds a bit of antagonistic edge.
Hopefully I can make better stuff next year though, I put a lot of time and effort into sharpening myself...

The fact that absolutely nobody discusses her within context of her game, Recette could be that dog from Resident Evil 4 or a GTA hooker, and it wouldn't make a difference, Recette is entirely self-insistent as this tournament entity is just great. There's a weird circlejerky meta that being an underdog means you're automatically deserving, and that paradoxically can actually makes you the top dog. There's nothing wrong with a popular character winning a popularity contest.

She came out of the blue and progressed on a drawfag and fluke matches. Basically her inner-tourney factors were carrying her.

Yes, both are more tournament meta. Seems a little bit different though, one is a case of two characters having overlapping fanbases or artists, and people want to see them have to fight in a tounrament where characters fight for votes.
The other is your opinion of a character being based on whether the character is perceived to be more or less popular in a tournament about votes for popularity. I'm not saying one is better than the other, ideally the less meta shit the better, but they don't have the same intent driving them.

And a popular character wining isn't gonna be seen that way anyway cause they're already just popular and don't need a bunch of meta to win. Only in the increasing layers of meta and underdog-this, popular-that over the years does popularity meta maybe start to become a thing.

This whole thing made me wonder when is joking and complaining going too far? Even before we knew the Ammy muzzle artist was NSA, people were really upset about it while we always mock Battler and Recette. I think the big difference is intent. Let's pretend OFA isn't NSA for a minute. The people mocking about Battler and Recette always clearly are making jokes while OFA was writing whole paragraphs about how he thought Ammy fans were entitled. When people complain about Recette, it's not because they hate the character, but because of the factors surrounding her win. When people complain about silentfags or characters they didn't prefer getting far, it's because they loved their characters more. OFA is just a coomer if AM vs. Wesker proves anything. He doesn't love Wesker, he lusts for him. Consider the lengths he went to cry about AM instead of just mourning Wesker. I've personally made some seethe posts in the past that got way more attention than I like and regretted it and I joke about Recette and Battler too, but OFA went to great lengths to try and demonize the actual fans of characters when they didn't do anything. His hate is greater than his love.

Me too. I can imagine it. Sneaking up on King Boo from behind and slapping his ass. He’d get surprised and mad before I grab it and start groping his ass. He would be embarrassed but still not happy. This is when I would start to forcefully fuck him in the ass. He would beg and shout, and yell “ZERO ZERO ZERO” but it wouldn’t matter. I’d keep raping him until I felt satisfied with myself. Once I finished I think he would be on the floor, tired and broken from my actions that night. Anyone else thought about this? Maybe I could make Icon of Sin watch. Then he could be next.

Let's say rigging (from anons, not hosts) is something you're truly worried about. Would adding a little creative writing section at the end of the voting form help mitigate it? Something like 3 sentences of why you think X character should win or even oldfag questions.

I really doubt OFA saw that post but if he is petty enough to hold a grudge against a fictional character for so long and and go to such lengths to demonize anons for (rightfully) criticizing his decision he absolutely is petty enough to specifically target other random anons who just happen to have overlapping interests with those he already hates.

Christopher Robin on /v/ is simply not Christopher Robin, it's just an old meme OC, nobody cares about the true Christopher Robin.

It's also funny because during King someone said something along the lines of "I hope AM doesn't have an unlucky first round match like Madotsuki when he returns next year. Imagine if he goes against Heavy" and even though the post in question got very little attention, from that point onwards someone would start memeing AM losing to Heavy as a probable outcome. Whichever characters they happen to like? I don't think there's a general pattern between different drawfags and who they campaign for, even within the same drawfag it usually just comes down to who he likes rather than what traits he likes. For example I'd be had pressed to come up with Hexfag's "preferred" type of character from Hex Maniac and Eggman considering they have literally nothing in common.
Only reason that NSA's preferences are of note is because he was a host and potentially was rigging for his favorites/rigging against whoever he hated, though the fact that he was a coomer definitely influenced the kind of picks he drawfagged for.

Usurping the place as a host, getting to rule and use these tournaments as he pleases and considering what type of comment he consistently puts with the near certainty he’s OFA, it is very clear he suffers from a God Complex in the field of psychology this isn’t really recognized but it is otherwise called Narcissistic personality disorder, similar albeit they have a few thing’s different, something that many figures that take power over suffer from. NSA at first might’ve had pure intentions but when he realized he could simply take control and think it his tournament, that was the point he went halfway nuts. Its always smart to make yourself humble, admit to mistakes and listen to criticism like how Ballsanon did because it makes you aware of yourself. NSA thinks this is his tournament, something that should be made very well aware to not be the case.

Why did he decide to be a host AND a drawfag in these tournaments? I can't even imagine how anyone would think doing both would be a good idea let alone worth doing. Like, you have to manage all these votes and shit flooding in, keep an eye on all the threads and characters being nominated, make sure you even have the time to host for about a week, double-check for anything fishy, and god knows what else. Then to DRAW and campaign with those responsibilities in mind? None of this was in good conscience because maintaining a competition and doing art for SAID competition do not go together- it's inherently messing with said competition and is biased as fuck. It's utterly baffling that they went through all this nonsense and truly shameful on their end, just kills the positive feelings I have towards alot of these maps made and edited from someone who ended up being this narcissistic especially with the ones I drew on.
