I can't imagine that any plus4chan tournament will have the same prestige, for a lack of a better word, as the main site tournaments did. It mostly comes down to the low activity /co/ and /cog/ get here. Another thing is that, strangely enough, trying to continue Ms./Mr. and Queen/King here would feel wrong because of how intrinsically tied /tnt/ is to the main tournaments. I don't know if I can adequately elaborate on that second point.

If it moves onto a different site, then it wouldn't really be Mr. /co/ or King of /v/, wouldn't it? It shouldn't be. It wouldn't feel right to try and force a 4chan thing onto them. It's kind of similar to the dilemma brought up when talking about potential /tv/ or /a/ tournaments. Ideally, the sites themselves would want to come up with their own tournaments, rather than a few tourneyheads making one just to have a tournament.

Obviously divisive take that's based on being the most momentary fun meta campooner fest out of all tournaments. Which is understandable but then they proceed to rank very straightforward traditionally voted tourneys like inaugural years and Mr. /co/'s highly so the criteria's a bit unclear here.

>6. Queen /v/ 2024
Queen last year really wasn't THAT bad considering the results were still, as far as anyone knows, legit and agreeable and you had a fun start and finish. I'd say it was marginally better than Ms. 2023 and Ms. 2021.

What people keep forgetting is that Angry Critics had an easy as fuck bracket up until round 4 and the E8. They went up against Roxanne/Loona in round 1 who nowadays are known for being symbols of the "/tnt/ furry darling" stigma coupled with already winning their own tournaments. Their next two matches were against an Invincible meme team and Grand Dad where they won both matches by around 80%. They barely won that Ragna/Ruby match by 4 votes too.

Of course, this could also be a chaosfag blowing shit out of proportion for the sake of drama or replicating the shit show that was /cov/ 2024 if they can't even explain why Nerd and Critic would've been better winners besides "le unpredictible hype".

Some get upset with the idea of looking at the tournaments in hindsight and their overall impact rather than how fun they were in the moment because these are supposed to just be for fun. That's fine, but I personally like to find a middle ground between campaign and legacy for my votes, though I won't deny I still have my own bias for some weird choices that most others would find subpar winners. Most of my votes won't just be voting for a nearly completely silent character because of their legacy or an obscure character because of their massive campaign. 2021 is a divisive year that is hard to see as deserving of the top 2 placements of best tournaments unless you heavily lean towards the mostly pure campaigning side, with the effects of the year still being felt to this day. I would at least consider King 2021 in the top 5 places for the pure insanity of the tournament being novel at the time, but the attempts to replicate that insanity have long since gotten annoying.

The winner that divides /co/ and /v/ anons the most. Possibly even more so than Recette and Batter. While I have seen those two get a decent amount of mockery from their home board voters, Spidey is almost universally liked and respected by his home board voters, while /v/ voters seemingly hate him with a passion. He should be bumped up to frequently seen and meta relevant, but not quite a meta staple yet because he's too new. If 4chan comes back and depending on how King votes this year, I expect to see him brought up a lot more in arguments comparing King and Mr. /co/.
>Dante
He gets brought up about as much as Reimu and they are one of the few tournament couples that get brought up together years later. Bump him up a tier.
>Grievous
He had been argued to be the start of 2021 being too campaign meta focused and there are controversies about him being too /tv/ and NSA's involvement with him, but these don't get brought up as much as you think they would with people being more sympathetic to him because of board culture, votes still being fully visible at the time, and being far more relevant in /co/ material. Maybe he could be bumped up a tier.
>Frankie
She ended the FARTS meme and is considered the first traditional Ms. /co/ winner in years, but she is too new to know the full effect of the impact of that. It's up to each person to decide if she should be bumped up a tier or stay.
>Madotsuki

Not exactly, but I'm talking about the attitude that lead to that in the first place. The third year had a big surge in favoring thread meta and campaigning which is why a lowcard underdog out of nowhere like Recette even got to finals. You could argue some unknown differences of Samus being in the brackets may have altered things, but I kinda doubt Samus would've been a big vocal campaign hit and done a winners run in that years sentiment. Maybe she would have cause of the new game, we can't know, but from her almost non existent tourney rep after having won I surmise she's a silent powerhouse.

It's also sold in Norway and Finland if I recall, but tradition has entrenched it in Sweden to a ridiculous degree where it basically becomes monopoly specifically on Christmas and Easter.

The drink was made by abolitionists, if I recall. It just got really popular with everyone during christmas in spite of this focus so they just shrugged and kept going.
The Coca Cola Company actually tried to make their own Julmust, using extract they brought from the old ass Swedish company, but it didn't sell like the rest did and was discontinued in like 2008.

It is me. I do readings of fan works to test my audio equipment and processes as I develop them for my regular voice work and to prepare for the shows. I chose /hhg/ as a kind of homage to when I first started the shows back in 2019. I hadn't seen anything related to Hazbin Hotel, so I was confused when people were bringing up the Alastor character. That's what the second poster was referring to, I believe.

My old-fashioned Transatlantic voice did not originate from there*, but I do fully admit that, when I did watch it after the fact, I was surprised at how close it was. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that somebody on the art team over there is aware of me, at least tangentially. Call it a coincidence beyond coincidences, but I've been consistently using images of my specific model of radio years before the first season of that show came to be. A Philco Model 90, which I've actually managed to acquire a real and (supposedly, but I'm not about to burn my house down to find out) functional 1931 piece. Now, take a look at this screenshot of something depicted multiple times in the show that did not appear in the pilot. Considering we know that some of the crew do peruse 4chan, and that I've been doing the shows consistently for now the better half of a decade...it is rather curious. I'm not conceited enough to say that it is for sure a mention, it just strikes me as uncanny.

All that said, I don't hold any of the Vivzieverse in any higher estimation than any other property, especially as it involves the Tournaments. I have done more than a few voice works for other shows, movies, comics, video games, anime, etc. None of them rank any higher or lower in my mind due to that; if you think about it, I should probably hold those higher, seeing as I got paid for those ones compared to the readings I post at /hhg/, which (due to them being testbeds for me) I don't receive or ask payment for. In fact, I very nearly had Jeff Bezos' legal team come for me due to my screenname and email being on some /hhg/ fansite. Pretty funny interaction once the dust had settled.

If people still have a problem with this as a whole, that's their issue. If there's any clarification required for anything pertinent, I have no problem answering.

(*I got the idea for the voice from watching a Youtuber who made content about internet bloodsports back when I found that sort of stuff entertaining)

Time for another batch of autism statistics. So I was curious as to who actually were the strongest characters not to win across all four main tourneys stacked up against each other. I'm going off chart anon's evaluations >>177823 >>178103 (/v/ one's exist int he b4k archive). Only including characters who have made E8 multiple times, and consulting the chart anon's preexisting ranking and criteria:

based on cold hard statistics the top are:

*chart anon gives categorical preference to making E8 every time as a special standard that usurped the calculated number score, so as a result Kiryu gets default placement over JC and Raiden. Consistency can also get a bit confusing. In the case of Bugs over Squidward I assume it was the fact that Squidward missed a year. And for stuff that was a tie after all calibrated factors I went ahead and decided by who gets a higher overall seed across all participated years.
No.197787
Anonymous
>>197785
A few caveats I have with it are how chart anon did not consider improving or lagging performance over time (I think this is very important for JC and why I'd put him over Kiryu besides just having a higher calculated score anyways). Characters missing entire years they were eligible for I think should also hold some weight, like Raiden not being nominated the first year and then getting DQ'd another. It at least screws up calculations somewhat. Chel is also contestable since for the original chart anon's rankings to work he'd have to consider Chel the 2nd place of 2022, which of course is debatable, and if you went off the (more accepted?) 3rd placing for her she'd be at 5, right below Jack after all the factoring. Calibrating it without the E8 only specialty and without these caveats it would look like
1. Fio
2. Roll
3. JC Denton
4. Hank
5. Kiryu
6. Eggman
7. Tyr'ahnee
8. Amaterasu
9. Jack
10. Chel
Raiden is hard to place so maybe I give him 11. I'd dock points in general for anyone simply not participating in an eligible year or two. If something like failing to qualify gets a hypothetical 0 for a year then you can make a case not even being nominated may get you a -1. But I’m aware the first /v/ year was first come first serve, so maybe only applied after a qualified year. It seems chart anon did this with putting Bugs over Squidward, but he didn’t dock Sam for it, who failed to even be nominated after a qualified year.

Now you could of course get deeper in nuance and take into account who beat who, who lost to who, and by what percentages, and contextual factors like the years it happened in. Take for example how the top two in each tournament come down to an ambiguous battle.
Chel and Tyr'ahnee are almost tied in chart anon’s calculation, but when you factor recency of course Tyr'ahnee wins, with Chel losing to a 6th place Pomni while Tyr'ahnee got 3rd. The two also faced each other directly twice in QF, Tyr'ahnee won the first time, Chel the 2nd, with Tyr'ahnee admittedly winning by a larger margin. They would have faced a third time had it not been for Pomni last year, and Tyr'ahnee of course would beat Pomni (controversially), the girl who beat Chel.
One thing chart anon did was calculate the E8 placements by round rather than direct placement number. If you were to go by number (the lower the number the better):
>Chel (5th, 7th, 2nd, R4) (let's just give her the 2nd place) = 15 + R4
>Tyr (R2, R4, 2nd, 6th, 3rd) = 11 + R4 and R2
So Tyr is the better scoring in E8, but has had two years she didn't make it. The R2 year was a loss against Jasmine, which is pretty poor on her part, and it was the inaugural year (arguably the "purest" year and where Chel got 5th). The R4 loss they both had though is better for Tyr, as she lost to a 3rd place Frankie (likely rigged out of finals by Spinel) and Chel lost to a 6th place Pomni. The chart anon would value pure E8 consistency highest, and so puts Chel ahead, I'm not entirely sure though. With some context/different approaches you can make a case for both.
Take Hank and Jack as well:
>Hank (R4, 4th, 2nd, 5th) = 11 + R4 (R4 was a loss to 6th place Superman)
>Jack (3rd, R3, 6th, 3rd) = 12 + R3 (very likely rigged out of finals in 2018 by cap host, R3 loss was to 2nd place Daffy, and both got a higher placement and actually beat Hank in 2023, the most recent performance year of them both)
Hank's got a slightly lower (better) score in this calibration, but context blurs the ranking more. You could again make a good case for both.
Take JC and Kiryu:
>Kiryu (3rd, 3rd, 7th) = 13
>JC (R4, 5th, 3rd, 2nd) = 10 + R4 (R4 loss to 5th place Solid Snake)
JC has a better E8 evaluation, and one that is rising while Kiryu is falling, but it's not perfect attendance.
And Roll and Fio:
Fio (2nd, 7th, 6th) = 15
Roll (8th, 4th, 3rd) = 15
Tied in this calibration as well. Going further:
>Fio = Lost to winner Samus, lost to 2nd place Madotsuki, lost to 3rd place Roll.
>Roll = Lost to 4th place Maya, lost to 4th place Marisa, lost to winner Curly.
So it seems like Fio has had the slightly more respectable losses. But of course one of those losses was to Roll directly in 2023, both their most recent year, plus Roll has gotten consistently higher placements while Fio has not. So good case for both.
The argument I think I recall chart anon making for not factoring direct matches between these characters is that fluctuations in taste and nuances across each year will adjust and his calculating was better for a broad perspective of all years, which I sort of agree with. Still, if a character has consistently shown to rise there's something worth noting there.
And then there's the matter of Eggman, who while statistically hasn't the topmost record, does in fact only lose to winners or future winners, and made finals TWICE in his most recent two runs. You can easily argue he's the strongest non-winner out of everyone, meta factors aside.
There's of course also the fact that there have been one less year of tourneys for /v/ than /co/ to keep in mind.
Now you can go further in evaluating seed level of character and opponents and statistical degree of win and loss each matchup, and if applied to every character you'd actually have a tourney equivalent of a fight matrix. But at this point it may be way too autistic for a 4chan character tourney. There’s also the meta factors that can never be calculated in numbers. Eggman’s calculated a full point higher than Travis but I’d feel more confident in Travis winning at this point for various meta reasons.
For fun let's call everyone who scored above a cumulative 5 a super hitter. Each tourney seems to have a statistical super hitter rivalry, being Fio/Roll, Kiryu/JC, Hank/Jack, and Chel/Tyr'ahnee. This year will (probably) definitively decide who's ahead of the other.

In 2023, a single dragfag showed up during his battle with Eggman, dropped a single (1) picture after Kiryu got called out (for being silent), then left him to get pummeled by a supercharged Eggman. That doesn't qualify as "fairly active", he was completely silent before that round.
>>198702

Silent majority picks are popular picks, people recognize them and vote for them because they're liked, they're strong by definition and merely need a campaign that complements them, but by no means a single contribution can be called "fairly active". Not everyone can be in the silent but strong category, that's not arbitrary. Kiryu, Captain Falcon, Luigi, Fio Germy, Shantae, I don't know who else... They're there for a reason, they're strong contenders that can do well without you lifting a finger.
