I believe there's a good chance Alice, like all other CFL subjects, was already a zombiedrone case when she 'started' at the labs. Humanity had always vaguely known about AS and that it would be able to use a drone as its host via its core, even before the Cyn happened, so if they wanted to speed the process up tenthousandfold, they'd collect already existing zombie drones from across Copper-9, instead of culling what would have been about 2 milion WDs to get the iirc ~200 CFL subjects. Keep in mind the only way a zombiedrone 'is made' is if their failsafe doesn't work (ZD tape mentioned failsafe wear as reason, which, together with Alice's face damage in the room with Yeva and Nori, which did kill the nameless butler in 5, proves the failsafe failure is permanent), something that has a 0.01% chance to occur aka only one on 10.000 WDs is lucky enough to not have their core destroyed immediately. All the other measures in the ZD tape are to make 100% sure AS can't enter and to destroy the core completely. The process would be applied to both the 57% of drones put out of use due to death and the rest which wouldn't have their failsafe fire yet, I assume the 606 step (very same thing J did to N in the pilot it seems) is mostly for those who get sent to disassembly while still alive (where the 'it's fun for them' part is from btw)
I guess she had her own personality already by then, ofc it was before the suffering builds character arc, I guess much of her fierceness (no sound when Uzi bit her/how eager she was to get her revenge) and rough behaviour came from the 20 years there. ZDs have a very 'realistics personality very soon but as seen with the manordrones too they still develop.
Early CFL Alice must already have had her accent, Yeva likely already spoke Russian too. About her character idk now not much time. Alice had a 'fatal' accident, wether she already came back at her workplace or wether they found her in a dump/smh detected intact core and she first woke up again already in CFL and developed completely there, with Southern accident maybe from subconciousness, not knowing the outside world, unsure. We can learn much for sure by details, but just as much is left vague or entirely free to headcanon

It certainly can be taken that way, but it's also universally applicable to all of the characters. None of them have their original bodies, Pomni experiences a moment of weirdness in ep.1 seeing herself in a mirror for the first time too.
I don't actually mind that the theme is brought up, body dysphoria is a viable concern with something like total immersion VR or brain-to-program transfer, or personality copying and modifying.
You know N also has a bit of a moment when he wakes up from his flashback nightmare in ep.2, he stares at his claw hand like his body is still foreign to him.

I guess I was expecting too much from episode 3.

I just watched episode 3 of TADC now and I have pretty mixed emotions. The series isn't bad, really, but the past two were better. The past episodes managed to tell a story from beginning to end in 25 minutes without leaving you bewildered and feeling underwhelmed, but this one feels kind of empty.

It feels like the "not scary" house branch with the Baron's wife was cut out, and there should have been as much timing as Kinger and Pomny. The Zooble branch is a separate topic, the fact that Zooble hates his digital body and adventures, and Kane is a psycho with a completely fucked up roof was clear in 1 episode, why they are here I really have no idea. The Kinger and Pomny adventure itself is also empty, there's a whole bunch of useless actions and unfunny jokes, there's nothing really catching.

The best part is, of course, Kinger's story about his wife, no complaints there
