They're practically identical! Sentinels are JUST as much precursors to the SD program as Workers are, and so if SDs still fully count as "drones" then by extension they MUST be fully dinosaurs as well!

>>352150 >dating a DD >obviously the guilt ridden/nervous wreck type
What did you expect? Of course the mass murderers that hated the job would be fragile! You want a "functional" DD? Look at the ones that justify themselves: food chain arguments, appeals to obedience, and "yeah but ypu totally deserved it" arguments are all signs that your DD isn't on the verge of sunlight exposure. But of course THOSE types aren't trying to "make up" for their murders by dating/serving/groveling to prey, so they might be a little out of your league.
>>352151 We've been wanting to get that N milk but as it turns out N is the one milking Fiend. In the money sense get your mind out of the gutter, unless there are drones in the gutter than go and fish them out!
>>352128 N goes to school not to study, but to hang out with Uzi, just like V goes to school to hang out with Lizzy. But overall, I would say he's just an idiot.
>>352171 >Copper-9's destruction = 20 year process(based off the prom queen missing posters + Uzi being a pillbaby when the DDs landed) >Earth's destruction = non immediate(based on N's flashback) >7 settled planets total, Earth and Copper-9 included(based on the flag on Tessa's suit)
I see where they get the numbers. If you assume that Cyn gave her Dissassemblers/herself between 10-20 years to "play" on each planet before consumption the time adds up quick(60 years minimum, and that assumes she went "fast" on the first few planets).
My friends may have some reservations about the tokens I picked for our game, but they know what they signed up for when I told them I want to GM a sci fi game Also let's play a game, find the plot important NPC
>>352181 The AS only has 26 DDs to work with. Infinitely respawning or not they're gonna take a while to work through a planet, and there's six star systems to massacre. >>352171 It happened somewhere between 20 and 50 years before
>>352197 Merc has clean lines and perfect shapes Strawberryanon has unpolished creativity Fuge’s has his own brand of ‘tism Itanon has round drones and love for the outpost-3 ocs Fiend has a certain scratchy agitation that is either horny or aggressive Privatedust has a love for simple well drawn drones, a lot like merc but more warm
The DDs are irrelevant: Cyn needs no help destroying a planet OR revoving all defences on it, and made them solely for the fun their little fights provide. Her only limit on mass-murder is her attention span(gets bored = kills everyone instantly)
>>352202 I don't thing 26 infinitely respawning vampires would be all THAT much slowet than 26 infinitely respawning vampires plus a vore demon. Once they make planetfall there's no stopping them, but it's going to be a slow process.
>>352205 >I just got a job that will set me for life and It will give me way too much money to burn Noooo! Do not get comfortable! The second you do the rug will be pulled from under you!!!!!
>>352204 Cyn's only limit on planet eatins is how fast she FEELS like doing so: only thing stopping her from eating all 7 planets same-day is FTLtime(and potentially not even that if she can teleport there).
>>351713 >J would later use the money she made renting the cabins out to start buying abandoned JCJensen cleaning supplies factories and resuming production at them >by the present day of the Post-Good End era, J, formerly acting CEO of the revived JCJensen and current executive assistant to the CEO of JCJensen (and owner of 50%+1 of JCJensen's shares), has long since brought JCJensen an effective monopoly on cleaning supplies on Copper-9, with complete vertical integration >she thinks the real turning point was when her husband Thad suggested resuming production of Wiwi, which had slipped her mind before he reminded her that the overwhelming majority of drones having feet means they would still need shoe polish even though she doesn't
>>352213 Wrong, I'm not Phoenix but I still headcanon the whole 70ish years timeline out of personal preference; It gives more than enough time to account for travel between systems with the deliberately unexplained distances & technologies involved in the setting, the grueling pace tracks with my idea of Cyn taking her sadistically sweet time 'playing' with each system before moving on, I find the idea of a turn-of-the-millennium apocalypse to be a thematically appropriate starting point for this otherwise unspecified timeframe, etc. I don't pretend that the date is anything other than headcanon born from a stretched inference, but even so I also don't see any reason to be getting so worked up over whether an intentionally vague plot detail is definitively accurate or not
>>352211 (me) Just remembered to add: JCJensen has also been in the stationery supplies field, J snapped up those properties too, though it is "just" by far the dominant power there.
>>352220 (me) Only reason it's just the hegemon there is because J vetos any proposal to move into cheaper pens than THE pens. Making cheapo disposable pens will inevitably encourage compromising the quality on all their other pen lines.
>>352217 I've mentioned it before, but I'll repeat my main points as to why I don't personally consider the landfill tape to be compelling evidence
>The TV in the landfill had no discernible power source to actually be turned on (unless you want to argue that it was being powered by Solver Shenanigans) >The TV had no visible VCR, making it impossible for the tape to have been playing in-universe (unless you want to argue it was Solver Shenanigans again) >There is a non-zero chance that entire opening sequence was simply an out-of-universe way to narratively interconnect with the tape foreshadowing from last episode for the audience's sake >There is also a non-zero chance that the tape was made after what happened to Earth given the conspicuous absence of references or recognition by the Ep 5 humans towards Zombie Drones
>>352197 >>352199 PocketSteak's art is cute, I like the doodle style. ViciousFiend's angular style is able to capture gremlin energy immensely well. MercurialMorose has such clean and simple lineart and is still able to get so much detail through. BuffAnon's scratchy art has a unique charm to it, plus silly faces and magnificent military men. The Femanon has an interesting style, the expressions are the most catching to me. That one anon who drew the Evil N Schizo's characters all around style is quite pleasing to the eyes, but the coloring/painting is what I like the most about it. AliceAnon's surprising detail and ability to keep on model is inspiring to say the least. I don't know, I just like every artist here.

>>352279 You could do HoI4: you just need fundamentally personality-based focus trees(Murder Drones dosen't care about social trends) and some mechanics to deal with the no/near no population everyone starts with
>Uzi: militarizing the bunker, descending into madness, standard show behavior
>J: whipping N into shape, offshoring(recruiting workers to help kill), unionizing(rebelling against Cyn w the patch)
>N(has to take over the squad first): reconciling with Cyn/V, succumbing to Evil, joining the workers(probably leads to death)
>Alice: taming the raptors, self-upgrade to infinity, literal body building(repairing the other subjects/making dozens more Beau's, such that the Lab becomes a full Bunker of its own),
There's acouple of interesting ways you could go with each character. Just need to figure out something for players to do between focuses.
Of course: every drone deserves love(especially those as faithful to their loved ones as Lizzy)
>with Dollbody
No. I paid ONE reservation for TWO people and, if she wants her friend to supervise, it's up to either her or Doll to cover the surecharge. If Doll needs monitering then she can just leave her with V for the weekend.

>Uzi had a plan >having figured it out during her own "testing" period, she's well aquainted with REVERT's repairing capabilities >one flick of her wrist and Lizzy's comfort-corpse should be good as new! >[ObjectNonInteractable] >an hour of frenzied panic later Lizzy happily picked up "Doll's body"(forma de hologram), none the wiser and none the bitchier! >with any luck her trick should give her all the breathing room she needs to fix the real thing! >though given this forces her to watch *all* of Lizzy's actions until then...
Fuck I don't think Uzi's limited morals would survive a drone horning in on N sexo. One comment about "a kiss from me" and he's going straight to Solver-hell.
But Uzi WAS his admin. His Solver-enabled, fully feral admin... >while scrolling through the dead DDs, Uzi finds a non-letter name in the listing >turns out her whole "sentience theivery" bit linked Braiden to her internal servers, creating the same kind of "backup" for him that Cyn used to revive the DDs >cue Uzi using him as a test subject to figure out how ressurections work >after all: he started it
>>352312 (me) >>352310 Seriously, never considered the idea that stealing Braiden's sentience that one time means Uzi became the proud(?) owner of his soul.
>>352315 Didn't she edit their shit for that? Then again, I can see stealing sentience as accomplishing the same thing.
>Doll is honestly kind of impressed Uzi made a soul stealer by accident. And thinks it's funny, in a cosmic sort of way. >The AS is shut down with prejudice when it pipes up to tell Uzi they're two of a kind.
>You were there when the core collapsed. >You saw its effects, that flash of light that just... de-meated everyone. >And took their clothes, in some instances >The drones were fine, unsurprisingly >...And so were you. >You picked a good day to wear your containment suit, you guess! >Checking various channels, you verify that yes, everyone seems to have up and died >And a horrible blizzard's kicked up, so you hunker down >Good thing your suit keeps you warm! Or not cold, at least. >After the first few days you start to see them in the sky, the super terror kill drones. There's probably a better name somewhere. >You keep out of their way, and on the rare instance that you think one's spotted you, you just play dead and they miss you every time >If they have thermal vision, your suit obscures you from that, too! >Although, when's the last time you ate or slept? >Eh, time's kind of blurring together. >Just gotta keep your fancy suit charged and you're alright! >As time passes, you start noticing some of the drones have started to think and feel, or at least pretend to >Soon enough, they're stripping corpses for clothes and wig shops for hair >Building a tiny society, and then getting slaughtered by the super terror kill drones. >Eventually they figure out to use the cryobunkers to hunker down, though even those get hit now and then >You decide that observing drone society from a distance is boring and that you'll make a grand debut as the last human >Waltzing into a bunker, you're quickly identified as tall and in a suit, thus probably a human, though some of the drones are skeptical and want you to take your suit off >They manage to get the heating working in one of the rooms, as well as filtration- apparently the air was pure poison, who knew? >You walk in and slowly take your helmet off, turning to reveal yourself to the expectant drones >They all freeze up in shock at you >Why? You haven't shaved in years, maybe you look horrible >You find a mirror and look into it, and are struck with the truth >A bleached white grin and hollow eyesockets stare back at you. >You... what? You're human, right? You were human, you had a human face... that you never felt really belonged to you... you had a human body you always found annoying and somewhat clumsy... >Your gloved hands reach up to touch your head, feeling the hard bony surface >You were a skeleton all along. >Huh. How about that?
>>352322 >Liam is able to keep his dick in his pants and V actually fucking dies to the sentinels she had her back to and was standing motionless as one was a fraction of a second away from biting into her >but since DDs can't stay dead and Uzi's her admin, she just shows up in Uzi's tail >the epilogue sees it established that Lizzy is taking care of V and Doll's mangled corpses until Uzi figures out how to respawn them >both of them, out and about via Uzi's Solverpede hologram projectors, are slightly uncomfortable with how touchy-feely Lizzy is with their bodies

She grabs you by the shoulder and moves you to the side. >Anon steps in front of Pavo and stares at her. He crosses his arms as she stops in front of him. “That’s far enough, Switch.” He says as he glares at her and she glares back. You walk up to Switch and pull her back by the hand but she doesn’t move an inch. “Switch, what the hell are you doing?” >By this point Harper’s up too and pulls her back too. She manages to move her back a bit but Switch just brushes her arm off and pushes her back almost falling onto a table. You pull on her hand even harder. “Switch! Knock it off!” >Pavo looks extremely nervous as he glances around at everyone staring at them. Anon raises his hands up in the air as Switch steps closer and Pavo steps back. “Look, Switch. What happened was entirely your fault. You went out of line.” >What is he talking about? Switch clenches her fists and you could swear you can hear the metal of he hands groan. You pull on her hand harder to get her attention. “Switch, come on! And what the hell are you talking about, Anon?!” >”He tried to have me killed.” Switch seethes out as Pavo recoils back. She looks behind herself just to see Harper trying to grab her again and she yells at her. “Don’t!” Harper immediately freezes in place. Switch pulls her hand away from you which sends you down on the floor from how fast she did that. >”Inco!” Anon rushes over to help you out and get up. You cough a few times. “I’m good.” >Switch walks up to Pavo’s face and he keeps backing up until he hits the wall with his back. None of you dare try and approach her as she stops. Pavo chuckles nervously. “Y-you…” >”Why’d you do it?” She spits at his face. “You care so much about Disassemblers that you would strike down one of your own?” >”Th-they were innocent…” Pavo keeps his hands close to his chest as he fiddles with his fingers. “I had to follow orders…” >”Innocent?!” She yells at him. “You still believe that?! I expected more from the Sentinel with the second highest kill count!” >”No, I---” >”I seriously have no idea how you’ve deluded yourself to believe that. I know that you enjoy doing what you do. Tearing them apart to shreds and laughing like a maniac. How does one like you fall so off their purpose when you know they’re demonic?” >”No, not all of them are like that…” >Switch grabs him by the shoulders and forces him against the wall harder. “They all are! They were made to be nothing but mindless killing machines!” She yells again as she looks even more furious. >Anon starts to walk towards them but Harper stops him. As you look around everyone in the entire cafeteria stares at the four of you. For fuck’s sake, what the hell do you do that doesn’t involve you getting maimed horribly. “How does one like you fall off their purpose this horribly? I think I know the answer now…” She leans in and whispers something to him. >You can’t hear what she whispered but this causes Pavo’s entire demeanor to chance. He shoves her and bares his teeth back at her. “You don’t wanna go down this path, Fiona.” Fiona? Is that her real name? >Switch transforms her hand into a claw. “I got nothing left. Everything that I cared for is destroyed. I have nothing to lose.” She takes a step forward. “TRY ME.” Pavo transforms his own hand into a claw and the two of them have a stare down. >Ah fuck it. You have stop Switch from committing a murder. You walk up to her and kick her side. This causes her to slightly lean in the opposite direction but it also causes her to break her concentration at Pavo and snaps her look at you. “Switch! Fuck off! Calm the hell down!” >Her angry gaze changes between you and Pavo rapidly. You’re genuinely angry at her right now that you don’t know what else to say to her. You grab her by the hand and pull as hard as you can towards the exit of the cafeteria. This time she doesn’t resist, and she follows you out without saying anything. She sneaks one last glance towards Pavo before the two of you disappear in the hallway. >You need to think about how the hell you’re gonna fix what just happened and try to knock some sense into this woman.

>>352360 >Uzi has been incredibly concerned for a while. >Whenever a DD gets 'sent' back to her for a rebuild, she looks through their memories to see how they died. >The most common way they all died is because of two drones. >One is a Sentinel Drone that is the gayest thing in the universe. He's also a sadistic killer that enjoys torturing DDs but only those that are 'bad'. >The other is a relatively tall Worker Drone with acid green lights and what she believes is a real-life lightsaber but it looks more like a traditional sword. Unlike the Sentinel, this WD has no breaks, no remorse. She kills all DDs, innocent or ottherwise. >She knows 'her' DDs are killing machines but how the hell are these two slaughtering countless of them so effortlessly?
>>352350 Well no, the way I write him, he keeps it all above-board. Now and then he's given an excuse, like with new-generation DDs who need scared straight, but a considerable amount of DDs are now just traumatized wrecks with high-spec weaponry now that the war's over. Worth keeping an eye on, and violently disciplining whenever their stupid vampire crap makes them kill a random worker, but they're no longer the battle thralls of the most evil entity in the universe.
>>352389 Only if exposure is something you care about, for either personal or financial reasons. If you desire to be well known or if you need to reach an audience of a certain size to support yourself with your art then its less of a "worth it?" and more of a necessary occupational hazard. Like how auto accidents are an occupational hazard for truck drivers etc. Personally, as a draw and writefag I prefer not to have social media contacts outside of my close friends, I don't do it for a living and I have no desire for fame or celebrity either, the only twitter I have is an account I use to follow other artfags and current events that interest me, I have literally never posted a single thing with it myself in my life.

>[New Log] Veil: >Drone Continues to show high levels of intelligence and some form of inherent wisdom, however the source of said intelligence remains just as much of a mystery as the language it speaks. >This drone is smart, incredibly so, but also woefully unfamiliar with just about anything in the remains of this facility, making it difficult to truly track the true range of its intelligence. >What little I can work off of its ability to adapt, which it has already done so remarkably well. >It has been a little under two months since i've started observing this drone, and despite not knowing a lick of English (or any language I'm familiar with), in just the short time I've been interacting with it, it has made impressive progress. >It’s already managed to learn quite a few English terms, while I've only got a rough translation of maybe 20 of theirs.
>I wish I had more time to further document the extent of their language or intelligence, this will eat away at me if left unanswered, I know it. >Another thing i've discovered, I can now confirm without a shadow of a doubt this drone was one of the few we had deployed to the outpost prior to the attacks: >Recently, during one of the drones common trends of disappearing for hours at a time (presumably to search for scrap i resume it uses to repair itself), I decided to turn on the station’s radar again, only for it to start pinging that strange object it kept tracking prior to me discovering this drone. >After a few attempts of tracking it, it eventually led me right to the drone itself, seemingly unbothered while it ripped more copper wiring from a shredded building. >That radar was only designed to track personnel and equipment, which includes the drones we had in operation at the time. >This only gives me more questions as to what exactly happened to this drone, and why it acts and looks so strange compared to how they were previously. [End of Log] … >[New log] Alloy X-01 “Seaglass”: >Recently, the temps in the area have risen steadily as this planet approaches its ‘summer’ season >still below freezing most of the time, but the days have gotten warm enough where snow on the paths have melted enough to show the rocky ground beneath. >And on that rocky ground I've made an absolutely remarkable discovery. >I've located a few small samples of a strange, blueish purple rock scattered across the facility. >Never seen anything like this here before, while further searching needs to be done to indicate its possible source, the lack of deeper samples and larger clumps being located in small craters covered during the colder sessions, it is likely that this material came in as a result as some sort of de-orbited debris, that had this facility in the path of its debris field. >It also explains the smooth, almost melted texture of this material, somewhat reminiscent of weathered glass you often see on the beaches of oceans. Probably melted on re-entry. >With the limited tools still available to me, it's clearly an alloy, but exactly what composition remains unknown, as its crystallization is… exotic to say the least. >Of the few samples i've collected sofar, its composition is quite stable but its integrity is not, some pieces are as hard and sharp as chipped glass, and even have a agree of opacity to them reminiscent of it, while others are dull, rounded, and even have a bit of give to their strength, as if it was enough to fall apart in my hands if improperly handled. >Outside of that, its overall strength and possible usage seems… lackluster overall, the best comparison I can give it as an ‘alloy’ something like an early era bronze, easily manipulatable but otherwise a weaker metal compared to things like iron or steel, it also seems non-conductive which further limits any potential uses as far as my knowledge goes. >However, it bears a streaking similarity to the material that the drone appears to have used to patched parts of its body with, giving me yet more questions, and nothing close to any answers. >For now the source of both the Drones modifications & this Alloy seems tied, but equally unknown. [end of Log]
>You shut off the computer and tuck the usb into your bag, then shut off the light in your shelter and climb into your sleeping bag. >The drone sits in the other end of the room, busy disassembling some electronics for its raw materials.
>You doubt you'll sleep very well tonight. >A few days ago you receive a message from one of the other facilities: >Evacuation ships have entered orbit around Elysium-7 >The war is over: Elysium-3’s blockade managed to hold until the solvers' forces became disorganized and the Solvers veil of the System (a literal veil in this case, as the [dull] eclipse blocking sunlight to Elysium-3 literally evaporated) fell. >You're unsure if humanity has truly ‘won’ or just endured longer than the solver could, but either way, you're getting off this frozen rock… >...But maybe not with her.
>The message made it pretty clear on the limits of this rescue. >Personnel only. No equipment, no bodies, no drones. >Just you and whatever you can stuff in a handbag or your pockets. >They said they will take trips back in the future to retrieve personal belongings and the fallen, but you aren't so sure how true that is. >You have about 2 days till they reach your site. >You should probably break the news to Veil. (1-7)
>>352510 >you sit up: [Veil?] >She seems preoccupied with her scraping, but her horns(?) perk up to indicate that she's listening. >[“Im going to be leaving soon.”] >Her work pauses for a moment, before she puts the chunk of electronic down and turns her full attention to you >(fjertr? Leaving?) her head tilts to one side, her left horn curling tighter then her right, an indication of confusion you presume. >[“Yes, 2 Days from now, a big ship will bring me home.”] >(glym vostvjakr… your people have… vessels?) >That's not the response you were expecting, another note you add to your next log. >[...Yes, I was meant to be here only for a short time, but…a big fight happened at home and here made travel… difficult.] >(“... I Understand.”)
>..Huh? >[“That big fight is over, they want to bring me home but, unsure if you can come with me.”] >(..It is… ok. vikz agrad. Ill follow.) She said calmly, not a hint of concern in her voice or posture. >what. >(“Two.. Gazes.. You said, till your vessel comes?”) >She keeps calling day’s ‘gaze’s’ you don't know why but you just let her. >You Nod. >(“Hmm… you rest… eeb. Next gaze I Show.”) >[“Show what?”] >(“You see, I Show.”) She says gleefully, Her horns curled tightly like an evil smile, unlike the small, innocent grin her face shows instead.
>Oh boy. At least she's not mad at you for leaving, right? >Famous last words to think buddy. >With that she resumes her scrapping and your left to figure out what the fuck any of that meant.
>Next morning, you pace through your route quickly, half because you're curious on what Veil wants to ‘Show’ and half because if you're leaving tomorrow, you'll probably be shutting all this stuff off by then so this place doesn't burn down while you're away. >Unless you forget. >Route done, and some provision obtained. (grabbed a few cans of mandarins at Veils request) >You head back to your shelter and find Her waiting for you, with a bag full of metal odds and ends. >(“Come, Follow. I show now.”) >You follow her out and she begins leading you through the site and out the back of it, presumably into the flat plains ahead containing nothing but snow drifts and the occasional boulder. >However, there seems to be a subtle path carved out, no doubt by Veil’s repeated trips to.. Whatever this is. >Eventually, your led to a particularly big snowdrift, about a half mile from the edge of your facility’s fenceline >Upon closer inspection, you observe this is no mere snow drift.
>Going around to the side not visible from the facility, there's a small cavity in the snow revealing the surface of what's below it >From the opening you can only see about.. 1/5th of the entire object, but from first glance it appearance is reminiscent of… a giant pink-purple marble. >Probably a good 10 meters in diameter, buried below the snow and probably embedded a good amount into the ground itself, there appears to be burn marks… like this thing fell from high orbit. The surface itself seems to be a bit melted in some areas, as if it was heated then cooled. >This might be the source of the “seaglass” samples you've been collecting. >Veil walks up to the buried sphere and feels around its surface before seeming to find a ridge and tracing it to a point. >You watch one of her horns uncurl and, with the tip, prod the surface in a few spots before the whole surface of the object splits, revealing the outline of a door that opens slowly, revealing a dimly lit interior. >...Fine. Sure. >You wish you'd find something normal one of these days but no: Giant alien marble.
>Following the drone inside, you can best describe the interior as… a cave. >Its all made of that same material, but the walls are seemingly stylised in a way one would make fake cave walls out of plaster and stuff, only these seem far more real. >Occupying this space are a few smaller spheres of unknown usage, some scattered objects littering the ground, several stains and puddles of various shades, and a few larger objects covered by a large tarp, one of said objects emitting a prominent red glow from underneath. >Oh, and a small pile of empty cans, presumably cans of fruit. >You figured she was going through the cellar. >At the back of the room contains a table with some sort of large bowl, a small sphere held by a pedestal of some sort, then just next to it a large machine attached to the back wall, with something reminiscent of a display popping out its center. >If it was in better shape, this would probably be quite comfy.
>>352511 >Veil sets her bag of scrap one the table next to the large bowl and walks up to the machine. >(“halok nurn!”) >To your surprise, the machine responds, in a low, dull voice >(“HALOK TOMTOCE: DLEOFF NITH, IDJA HALVRAM.”) >(“goth ekk fret, nurn. Jeg mjilv ar, mjuva mikk en blikril.”) >She then goes back to her bag and dumps the contents into the large bowl. >To your surprise, there seems to be some sort of reaction happening >Something is coming up beneath the pieces of metal, and soon a pool of silvery liquid envelops the pieces of scrap inside, bubbling while it does so. >The air is filled with the smell of iron. >After another moment, the bubbling subsides and the bowl now sits calmly, almost full of the silver, mercury-looking liquid as she brings it over to the machine. >(“jert.”) She gestures towards the machine, as she does so, a small appendage separates from the otherwise smooth surface of the machine, and begins draining the contents of the bowl like a straw.
>You just stand there in confused silence as this all transpires, unsure where to even begin with any of this. >(Hjo! fjert ukur, jeg'm nith avervir!) Veil shoo’s the appendage as it nearly finishes draining the bowl, leaving a small puddle at the bottom. >Veil wastes no time pitching the bowl up and… drinks the rest of it. >... >Veil turns to you and seems to notice your utter confusion. >So instead of clarifying she makes it worse. >(”Anon, come meet friend!”) She turns to the machine; (“vostvjakr, etta jr Anonymous.”) >And the machine responds in turn: >(“HALOK, ANONYMOUS.”) >It waves with its little appendage >...Great.
>[Veil.. What is all this?] >She responds without skipping a beat. >(“You said your people had vessels? This one is mine, just hurt a little, needs to heal.”) >[“My peoples ‘Vessels’ Look nothing like this, Veil. I don't recognise any of this…”] >Now she seems to struggle with a response. >None of this is even really comparable to solver level tech, with how alien that is… most of it is a mix of recycled human tech and biomechanics…. This is neither of those… >This is completely, entirely alien to you. >[Veil… what are you exactly?] >This whole time you've been connecting dots in your head, The drone you're speaking to… was one of the ones that worked at this site with you… >But you doubt that it's the same drone you're speaking too now, if you can even call it a drone anymore.
>(“Im…Vel? I dont-”) She stops short of finishing her answer. >She seems to ponder for a moment, before grabbing your hand and leading you to the two objects covered in a tarp. >(Let me show you…me.”) >She pulls the tarp away, revealing two corpses. >One of a Disassembly drone, and one of something you've never seen before. >The disassembly drone is surprisingly intact for one being… dead. >If its visor reading out [FATAL ERROR] in bright red didn't give it away, the item currently embedded into its chest might be what did it in. >Yet another sphere shaped object but this one with several long, winding barbs sitting out of it and into the torso of the drone, with enough force that some of the barbs come back out at weird angles. >No doubt whatever internals reside in that thing probably got scrambled to hell and back by that object, core included probably. >The other corpse… is hard to describe.
>For starters, it seems half melted from whatever it looked like initially, whether from what ‘killed’ it, or it seemingly started to decompose… somehow. >It seems to be made of the same material everything else in that room is made of, and if that's the same material as the ‘seaglass’ samples you've documented, metals shouldn't ‘decompose’ like that. >Besides that, its a humanoid shape, head, shoulders, torso and legs like normal, roughly your size, 5 fingers. >Its legs resemble pegs, but you are unsure if that's due to some external design choice or more damage. >Its all shaped rather geometrically, as if built to be resilient to some outside force. >The face seems surprisingly… featureless, as if it had them at some point but they were removed or simply hidden away. >its Chest cavity is ripped open, revealing an almost basketball sized cavity in the center of the torso, with claw marks indicating it was self-inflicted.
>The hands still contain clumps of the now melted material, with one hand half lodged in the torso, tracing claw marks scraping outwards. >as you stare at the 2nd corpse, you notice Veil removing her cloak, showing off her heavy damages and ‘repaired’ torso. >covered in large part by more patches of that purple material, right in the center of the torso resides a massive sphere..not much different in size than the cavity of the strange corpse. >[That… was you?] >She simply nods. >...christ.
>>352513 >You had put two and two together that this is some alien bullshit a few minutes ago, but this conformation dosen’t make it any less fucking weird. >You've been living with an alien who inhabited a drone body for the last 2 months, and not only did it not tell you, it seemingly didn't even realise you were misinformed? >You shuffle around the room a little as you do a stressed pace, thinking for a minute >Veil just stares as she puts back on her cloak. >In retrospect the Name you gave her is alot more fitting then first thought… >..Heh. >that realization actually stops your pace. >[Ok… How long have you been like this?] >(thjartolstziz… about a stare?) >What the fuck is a stare… Whatever.
>[“Youve been repairing your ship using scrap from the facility, right?”] >(“...Yes… your home seems lost, brought low by those yellow golems… yes?”) >I Guess ‘golem’ is a way to describe a drone. >[“...Yeah, there used to be more of us, now its just me… and you I guess.”] >(“...What are those yellow golems, are they from a different tribe? Why are they so hostile to.. everything?”) >Ohboy. >It doesn't know about the solver, does it. Guess that rules out being in any way related. >[“My people.. Dissent makes those, they came from some… virus, that took machines like those…”] you point at her body, the drone corpse she's inhabiting. >[...and changed them into those…] you point at the corpse of the DD, which while entirely rebuilt, still retains a lot of workerdrone design choices. >Wait wouldent that make her a virus too- >(“oh…OH! Merklesh! Zuzucri!! Golem zuzucri!”) >She seems to have figured it out in her own way. >(I was worried I kill a possible friend… Zuzucri's terrible life…fate worse death… I helped friend?) >[“Yeah. You sure did.”]
>Truth be told, you don't actually know if any of the original worker drones personalities are in those DD’s anymore, you're just happy you have one less to deal with if they ever come back. >[“Anyways, you still need more scrap for your ship to fix it right?”] >(“Yes.”) >[“Ok.. I can see what machines I can help you take.. Apart..”] >You remember her dumping all the metal bits into that big mixing bowl or whatever it was. >Before you were shown this place you thought she was getting parts to help repair herself like a drone or any other machine would. >Instead it seems to just be melting down the scrap into a liquid to us as some sort of food/fuel. >Is she after electronic scrap or just the metal itself? >[“You just need a lot of metal for your fuel… right, or is it anything specific?] >(“Metal… yes… essential metals… copper.. You have copper to spare?”) >Actualy… you might, in one form at least. >[“Maybe… follow me, I might know of some.”] >With that, you depart from Veils' funny little pod..ship thing. The door closes behind the two of you and it seals itself smooth.
>You spend probably the next half hour making the trek from one side of the facility to the other, another mostly barren, flat plot of land, marked only by a flipped drilling truck and a portable structure, damaged but still intact. >Clearing the snowdrift outside, you get the door open and you both squeeze inside. >The room is filled with geology equipment and boxes of various rocky debris, as well as several metal tubes about a meter in length and 6 inches in diameter. >Core samples. >You take one of the core sample canisters and roll it onto the ground, theyre fucking heavy. >undoing the top latch, with a bit of effort you get the contents to slide out, a single tube of solid rock material, drilled out from the deposit right below this section of the facility. >A deposit full of rich copper. >The core sample gleams in the room's limited light, but the veins of raw copper forming large smears across its length. >the type of sample a geologist would proudly display on a stand or even in a museum, in a different time. >However, these aren't those times.
>Opening a nearby tool rack, you grab your instrument of choice, a large sledge hammer. >Several hard swings later, the core sample is split into several pieces, and several large clumps of copper are now exposed. > a few more swings to separate them from the rock, you grab a few clumps and hand them to veil. >[“Will these work?”] >She ponders the pieces of metal for a moment, even biting one of them to test the taste? Either way, she nods her head in approval. >Great. >Going through the rest of the room, you check a few of the boxes of debris until you find what you are looking for. >many core samples were taken, and many of them were discarded and destroyed, but the materials inside were separated into these boxes, and inside of this one is about a metric ton of copper bits. >Ok maybe not that much, but its a big crate full of raw copper, hopefully enough for veil to repair her ship.
>[“Will this be enough for your ship friend?”] You ask as you gesture towards the contents of the crate. >Her small body peers over the edge of the crate and you watch her eyes gleam in the light of the raw metal. >(Yes! Yes! This will work! Haluth dagr! What wonderful gift!) The excitement in her voice is undeniable. >Her horn Things curl tightly and wiggle, probably some positive emotion they're displaying. >I still dont get the horns, they are cute tho. >Without warning he hugs your lower torso, even for an alien in a drone corpse she is still concerningly strong, you struggle to stop her from lifting you off your legs in her excitement.
>You two fill your bags with chunks of copper and make the trek back to her vessel. >The trek is a struggle because copper is fucking heavy but you endure. >Once back at the vessel, the two of you dump the metal into the bowl, filling it nearly to the brim with the mercury-like liquid. >And the vessel wastes no time in consuming it, it and veil talking to presumably confirm the metal is indeed working as a valid fuel. >After it is done, and veil sneaks another swig of the liquid herself, she grabs her things, presumably to go grab more. >That last trek nearly wore you out, you doubt you can do another run of copper before you pull something.
>(“It's ok, I'll bring friends! kzista, kjom!”) those last words are shouted at something across the room, in response, a pair of previously idle sphere shaped objects in the back shake upright and begin walking towards Veil, many little stick-like appendages protrude out of their otherwise smooth and featureless shape. >[“What the fuck are those?”] >(“Containers! They will help bring fuel, so you do not overwork your larval body.”) >Unsure if there is a translation mistake or that was an actual insult, either way you feel mildly offended. >But you follow anyways as you make yet another track back to the drill site, it being already mid afternoon by the time you reach it.
>Instead of filling your bag, you help Veil load these ‘containers’ with more metal than both of you could hold on your own, instead of having openings the metal is instead placed on the top of the sphere and just kinda… sinks into it before more is placed. >By the time both are filled you have made a considerable dent in the ore crates supply of copper, but it will probably take a few more trips to entirely drain its load. >The two containers now audibly clink as the metal inside shuffles around them. >As your now small group of entities leaves the structure again, Veil waves you off. >(“You go to your ozo and rest, I bring fuel to the vessel and then come back, ok?”) >You accept and go your separate ways, you grab some food on the way back, you are famished from this unexpected cardio.
>You go back to your shelter right before nightfall, get done with all your evening routines, probably for the last time, write several EXTENSIVE logs about all the bullshit you've witnessed today, and eat. >Veil has yet to return. >Its too dark to venture out now, and while its warm enough to where you'll probably not freeze anymore, there's a good chance you can just get lost out there in the dark and die that way. >So you do the only thing you can do, turn on the radar and search for pings. >After a few minutes of nothing you get Some pings at the back of the site, around where he crashed ship resides, >After a bit, you watch the pings slowly inch into the facilities fenceline, back towards your shelter >a few minutes later, the door is shoved open and Veil squeezes inside, covered in snow but otherwise no worse for wear. >You were almost worried there for a minute.
>Instead of sitting down and resuming her wire stripping session, her bag is now mostly empty as she walks up and sits next to you, her body posture somehow looking exhausted despite being several definitions of robot. >Her curled horns hang somewhat loosely on her shoulders as she relaxes into her spot. >Without skipping a beat she reaches inside her coat and pulls out a can of mandarin’s, doesn't even bother with the latch on the top but instead pokes a hole on the top with one of her nails. >She then drinks the juice that helps preserve the fruit like a cocktail. >Given her general mannerisms, and her blank stare off into the room, you can't tell if she's exhausted or drunk? >She slowly turns to look at you and gives you a half attempt of a smile.
>>352515 >(“Anonymous… you are… good friend.”) she pauses to sip her fruit drink. >(“I don't know much of your people, but you have shown me that you are an intelligent and resourceful individual… you helped me greatly this gaze.”) >Her speech seems slightly slurred, im starting to lean more on her being drunk, but on what, the fruit? >(“If you were one of us, you would be a Jut, im sure of it.”) >She puts the can down to her side, then gestures with her fingers in a way to mimic little devil horns. >No idea what a Jut is.
>She grabs her can again and drinks the rest of it in a big swig, then cuts the top off it with her fingernail to access the fruit inside. >She eats a few pieces then leans on your shoulder with a sigh. >(“we are both stranded on this world, of different tribes & tongues, yet we coexist… even if our first meeting was a bit… intrusive.. hehe.”) >As she rambles, the horn leaning on your shoulder begins lazily proding around your arm, its texture surprisingly soft and leathery despite being seemingly made of the same material as everything else. >Eventually it resides by curling around your arm below the shoulder, pulling her head closer to you. She is seemingly oblivious to its actions as she continues to eat her fruit and ramble.
>(“...When I came to this system I was merely a wayfinder, I did not expect to find anyone else here, let alone a fight of this scale… what is this virus that seems to behold your entire people?”) >You end up explaining in rough terms the events your system has endured during the solver war, from first isolation to this recent incursion. >You probably went into too much detail in some parts, as by the time you had finished, she had seemingly fallen asleep on your shoulder. >Damn, ah well. You're already comfortable. >Grab one of the blankets you lay on top of your sleeping bag and cover the both of you with, then you dim the light and go to sleep right then and there. >you end up sleeping the best rest you've had in months. (6-7) Dont you fucking dare
>By the time you wake, Veil is gone from her resting spot but has not left, instead she is messing with something on a nearby table. >Several pieces of random circuit boards, a few pieces of seaglass, and what seems to be some disassembled bits of a walkie talkie. >She seems to be trying to make something. >You leave her to her current occupation and get up to do final preparations. >Turning on your facilities radio, you receive conformation: >Rescue is arriving today. >You double check with them the limits of what you can bring, and they reiterate, sternly, that no equipment and no drones can be brought, just a small bag and the clothes on your shoulders, they don't have the room or capacity to carry anything else. >You're hoping the help you gave Viel is enough.
>You pack only the things you can't risk coming back for: >Seaglass samples, Your logs in that usb you keep, Sensitive company info in case your work somehow survived this war, and notes you've written about the fates and locations of your fallen coworkers. >You're also keeping the knife, albeit stowed away in the bag. >With preparations made, Veil has seemingly finished whatever she was assembling, and handed it to you without a word. >It's a small, oval shaped thing, about the size of a sodabottle, its surface is made of the seaglass material and is smooth on first glance, but feeling its surface reveals small ridges along it, like the top of an unrolled pillbug. >Its slightly opaque, and you can see the outline of circuit boards and wires just under the surface. Their use is unknown to you, as to the usage of this object overall. >You thank her without question, and store it in your bag with everything else you can fit in your pockets. >But with that, you don your gear, and leave your shelter for the last time. >Using a ladder, you climb onto its flat roof and clear off a conveniently placed chair to sit on. >Now you wait.
>Veil isn't far behind, she climbs up not long after and stands behind you, though she is unsure what you are waiting for. >[“Youll see, trust me.”] >A few minutes later, its here. >the day is mildly cloudy, so instead of seeing it first, you hear it approach. >A Low rumble, startling Veil and lightly shaking the entire facility. >then you watch as a long, blocky shape emerges from the clouds, its silhouette sharp and unbothered by concepts such as aerodynamics or drag >A navy cutter, probably the only craft that they could spare to venture into this part of the system >Its roughly 150 meter long, but despite that large size its internals are quite lackluster, outside its crew's housing it can probably only house another hundred or so personnel inside. >Explains the limitation of belongings. >As it lands in the field in front of the facility, I get up and turn to Veil. >[“guess this is my goodbye then.”]
>You crouch down to match her height, then pull something from your bag. >[“Here, take this in case you can't find me again, ill serve you well.”] >You hand her your knife, maybe its best to give it to her before anyone on that ship gets pissy about it. >You know she already has one but this seems… sedimental. >Plus, she already gave you something, it's only kind to return the favor. >She takes it hesitantly, then without warning, hugs you over the shoulders. >You return the hug. >You can feel her shaking, is she.. Crying? >After a long and tight hug you pull apart, tears still displaying in her glitchy visor. >(“I find you again, promise.”) She says with a sniffle. >[“I know you will. Take care, Veil.”] >With that, you climb down from your shelter while she remains at the vantage, watching you approach the ship.
>Once close enough, the front ramp of the ship opens, and two Soldiers in winter gear and masks march out. >Both with guns. >{“HALT. Identification and Occupation.”} One soldier shouts with his Gun drawn. >The other soldier pulls out a tablet, seemingly to check the information I give them. >I state my full name and job, and after a few taps the tablet soldier gives a nod to his friend, who lowers his gun. >{“Wheres the rest of your site's staff?”} >[“I'm all that's left.”] You give bluntly. >Both soldiers exchange glances, then gesture for you to approach. >They stop you just short of the pair as one pulls out a rod from its belt. >Turning it on, It's a UV lightstick that he waves around you, seemingly to check for any kind of reaction. >{“Negative on UV check, you got anything on your end, Sarge?”} tablet solder asks his buddy. >The other solder messes with a little scanner looking thing. {“Nah, Nothing. He's clear.”} >The soldiers turn and gesture you to follow, you take your last chance to turn around to see if veil is still watching from the shelter roof. >But she's already gone.
>You follow the pair inside the ship as the door closes behind you, they bring you to an empty set of bunks and leave you to settle down. >You watch from the room's small port window as the ship takes off and continues to the next facility, catching one last glimpse of your old home as it turns away. >As the ship rises back into the clouds, you pull out the object Veil made for you, still unsure of its use. >[“I will find you again Veil.”] you say to yourself, even if it means coming back here to this hellhole.

Of all games to make a Solver War mod for I think M&B Warband would be the best. The star wars mods give a good layout for how the map and battles would work, with ships and planets acting as either battlefield or as settlements. Playing as a technician would lead to you buying and fielding dozens of worker drones you can upgrade into different kinds of drones, from grunt drones to sentinel drones. The only way you'd be able to get mirder drones would be if you sided with the Solver, which would mean you're now at war with everyone. Murder drones would be the most costly unit to have, having high upkeep and draining your "food" faster than any other drone types. For example: one murder drone would consume the same amount of oil as a dozen factory fresh worker drones. Drones would be immune to morale losses but are very shit in the early stages, they'll never be better than human soldiers but they are much, MUCH cheaper and easier to replace
Newfag detected. Just side with the Federation: they've got a unique "blue" variant on the MDs that kicks more ass than every human unit on the roster combined. Fuckers are faster, stronger, AND tougher than literally anything but Cyn herself!(mechs included)
As for being the only faction hardlocked into war with the Solver.. get gud. Either that or eat the deserter penalty(your already-recruited Sentinels stay with you, but you won't be able to get more)

>>352699 When I think of a Solver Wars game, I think of three games: a Cataclysm-style survival game, a Front Edge-style strategy game, and a Call of Duty-style shooter (the early ones, I haven't played any modern ones).
Cataclysm doesn't even require much change; the setting is so similar it's amazing. They even have robots, including fucking nurses.
Front Edge is Modern Warfare Simulator, where you control soldiers in real time, and I can just imagine how colorful the explosions and firefights between DDs and SDs would look. Yes, visuals are important to me here, I know. In my defense, I'll say that my favorite strategy game is, after all, HOI.
And a shooter is just a shooter, do I even need to explain anything?
I also liked the comparison between human and worker drone units. It struck me that humans have a very broad range of usefulness. So, in the hands of a noob, a human army would just be a pile of shrieking, agonizing meat, while a skilled commander could turn human soldiers into a firepower that would wipe out everyone in their path. This would require a lot of micromanagement and precision, which I appreciate.

OP is clearly retard-supreme: can't distinguish between SD-Worker "mindless ant" and regular Worker "runs from small kitten" behavior, thinks that the SD/MD lineups are the ONLY upgrade paths WDs get. Ignores all the best sidegrades >mutants/ZDs >specialist models(test dummy, chef, engineer etc) >self-modded drones(can do ANYTHING the MDs can, albeit limited to only one part of their flight/weapons/nanites toolkit)

>>352805 >Despite the overwhelming negative reviews by film critics including notorious Dronetube reviewer "PrussianWarhammer" who went on a 3 hour non-stop rant about the poor writing decisions >The film was both a financial success and a insanely popular with families >As a result the number of Oogis would rise throughout the galaxy 50 times over >All proceeds made from the film would suspiciously go to a certain foreign planet as President Boogi directed
That Far Far West game coming out tomorrow looks like it would be perfect as fuck for a Murder Drones mod. It's got robots with guns and magic fighting abominations
>>352808 >this is just Murder Drones from Uzi's perspective >out of the 9 total enemies she's faced, somehow 5 of them ended up on her side(not even counting Doll or Cyn: just Beau, Sparky, V, N, and Lizzy) >add in the whole "killing god" bit... >it took all her post ending willpower resist the gamer inststinct for Eugenics("to prepare for arc 2") >that N was REALLY encouraging about it didn't help matters...
>>352824 >>sadly none of these are true... What are you talking about, Uzi's energetic and alive. And arguably a robot; despite everything, it's still her.
