My theory is that already a good chunk of the votes in 2021 of the characters the discord was supporting were rigged, but after their showings, they got much more legitimate votes and followings. That doesn't make up for what happened here since I still think it was enough to impact the tournament this year and they still were going at it. I hope somebody can poke holes in this post because I don't want to believe there was this much rigging.

The characters still had hundreds of votes before losing and we don't know a number of how many votes were rigged. Some close matches have enough power to change tournament history. This is the problem with riggers. The amount of damage they do is uncalculable for the most part.

The only pattern i could find is that hype matchups bring more voters, like Garland vs Doomguy R2 or Batter vs Spamton R4, so an increase for Grimm in GF wouldn't be out of the norm, considering the meta narrative in the matchup.

Like I said in the last meta thread, it's literally the same people who stir controversy in the afterparty every single year. They come in last second and create drama near the end of the tournament to ruin them intentionally.

The discord itself is fairly inactive, only around 10-20 people are talking with each other in a given week, most of whom are from /vrpg/ or /v/. The nigger who posted the poll was pretty much ignored the entire time as well. It's fucking stupid that it happened in the first place, but letting funposters ruin an otherwise good tournament is retarded.
