sorry anons I wasn't running away, I was sleeping
if there's duplicates, the one with most votes is counted and the 2nd discarded, if we catch it early enough we delete but messing with names and stuff messes up the votes so we're not ignoring you when you say "this characters names wrong" etc

My preference for having it as part of the main tournament is an official side poll to decide who gets 9th place, completely removed from the E8
I much prefer that as a consolation but assuming that Balls does in fact go through with preventing repeat matchups by swapping the bracket of characters that get sent into losers, it'll still at least be tolerable

This also means there won't be an Elite 8 this year. If you co-ordinate the two brackets.
>Sun-Mon -128
>Mon-Tues - 64, R1 losers
>Tues-Wedn - 32, R2 losers
>Wedn-Thurs - 16, R3 losers
>Thurs-Fri - 8, R4 losers
>Fri-Sat - 4, R5 losers
>Sat-Sun - Winner's finals, R6 losers
>Sun-Mon - Loser's Finals
>Mon-Tues - Grand finals
>Tues-Wedn - Potential Grand finals rematch
The start of round 5 has 4 characters in the upper bracket and 8 in the lower. But if it's all 4-way free for all the end of round 5/start of round 6 has 4 characters in the lower bracket and 2 characters in the upper bracket. So it's now Elite 6 instead of Elite 8

Doesn't completely avoid a fuss if people live to regret a loser winning, but if people voted them AND for it to count it would be a whole different matter. If people want to treat it more like an exhibition and vote no on it determining Queen, then there would be no real complaints. genuinely nothing good comes out of it
Either the rightful winner is robbed by spite or the loser's bracket is pointless
Such a stupid idea, I'm just going to draw Elite 8 art that commemorates the actual winner of the main 128 as soon as it's over and the loser's bracket winner as individual champions just to tell Nightshift to fuck off with his faggotry. We're making these tournaments, not him.

You think somehow it might be able to still be salvaged by scrapping the Grand Finals and giving the Loser's Bracket winner a separate title? I like the idea of the "9th place" position for the winner but since E8 members are getting sent to the Loser's Bracket we can't really do that without it being weird, so I propose the award is the Loser's Bracket winner becomes the Princess of /v/.
That way it's still a prestigious and well-earned title for the Loser's Winner, and which could result in a lot of fun OC (like how recette and madotsuki often get paired together), and most importantly it doesn't result in all the problems that a grand finals brings that have been brought up (either massive shitstorm because champion's victory was usurped, or massive wet fart because the whole loser's bracket was pointless)
NSA or Balls or whoever please I beg of you, you must consider this option (or another alternative if someone has a better one) while there's still time. You can put it to a vote if it should replace the Grand Finals or just enact it or whatever but I don't see anything good coming from going forward with the grand finals as is. Most people agree on the pros so far of the loser's bracket, but I have yet to see a single person happy about the prospect of Grand Finals, and this could fix that one sour note.

Grand Finals is the current planned conclusion of the tournament; instead of the tournament ending when the Finals winner is announced, the plan is to have the winner of the Loser's Bracket face off against the Finals winner in a post-finals Grand Finals round, and only after THAT winner is revealed will Queen /v/ 2023 be decided
You can look at the other posts in this thread explaining why this isn't a good idea and could very well leave everyone with a bad taste in their mouth after the tournament if it happens, but it can still be changed and replaced with another prize for the Loser's Bracket winner (see >>67591) if the hosts either set a vote over it or simply replace it and have that be that.

>How come JPEG dog stayed in the bracket even after being noted as a male mistakenly entered into the tourney like Silent Hill dog in King

I would suggest in the future IMO in regard to the muffet situation to just keep things under wraps if you have no ability/plan to change it anymore. Ignorance is bliss if you get what I mean. I know exactly what they're going to do as well: Be entirely silent about it even when multiple threads get completely overtaken with discussion, ignore people begging for statements on /v/ or /tnt/, and only wait until it actually starts to say something, and THEN they'll speak out and say "Haha sorry guys, it's too late for us to do anything now". Losers' bracket, along with the possibility of comeback to take the Queen role, is a good thing. Makes the thread less salty about losses. I assume that's what they are planning to do. Otherwise such a retarded move from their part in wasting Curly and Ammy's efforts just for someone else to take the crown from them. Also, there's no way this shall go extended for a few days more. Afterparty should be the final day when we get the loser finalist vs runner-up results and call it a day.

To Jenny (winner) and Toph (3rd and true 2nd strongest). They then got 3rd and 2nd in 2019 and without peru riggers were basically the real finalist. Shego 4th, Azula 5th. These were years based most on popularity purity. What have Alice's done?

Seeing the amount of pixel art Curly is getting is also painful to watch as well. The saddest thing is the hosts are just "busy" talking when any of the four talkative ones could say a thing or give a small update so we don't have to go through that shit.

People who aren't diehard supporters are more inclined to feel "well that character is already in E8 so she already has something, the other ones deserve the loser bracket prize more", either that or "i already voted for this character in 3nd/4th so it would be weird voting for her twice"

Having E8 be part of it at all is kind of dumb.
Ideal scenario imo it should've been turned into two 1v1's last round with Hex facing SHODAN and Mado facing Alice. Whoever wins those moves onto a finale 1v1 this round concurrent with the winner's finale, in which the winner is given 9th place title.

I completely agree as someone who was also hoping for "9th place" as the reward for Loser's, granted I'd still be fine with the "Princess of /v/" or "Queen of Hel" idea that has floating around for the loser winner award but I definitely think if we bring the loser's bracket back the E8 should be kept out of it since they already have their own special status.

Nothing to do with the characters themselves, a tournament can be good while only being characters I do not care about (like Mr. /co/) and it can also be bad even if the Elite 8 is all characters I love or something.
Despite the E-mail bullshit, Ms. /co/ felt more fun than this.

>fair
>i saw some people who cared however i was not one of them so idk fair
>fair that was egregious
To each their own but I have had fun so far aside from hosts being really bad at communicating this time around and causing unnecessary stress for everyone as a result. It's weird too since the hosts, or at least Balls, were very vocal in the /co/ tournaments but in /v/ there's been a big cut off. Maybe real life is just getting in the way, I don't want to judge.
Either way I still have some hope for the Grand Finals drama to be resolved if for no other reason than the hosts repealed the e-mails at the end of Ms. /co/ after seeing literally nobody liked it, and hopefully it'll be the same here after noticing literally nobody likes the Grand Finals idea.

Balls did mentioned that he will open a poll on whether or not the whole thing will change according to the loser's bracket but if you want my opinion, I say it should be limited to those from the 1st-4th rounds and the winners will should get a their own "Elite Eight" but they won't get effected by the Elite Eight ban rule.

Shodan's likely going to beat Ammy since Ammy reasonably peaked and catniggers have gone full force with their "win". But her getting bumped from 2nd to 3rd would be retarded. The entire point of 2nd place in a tournament is that's who went the longest before losing. It fundamentally can't be Shodan because Shodan lost way earlier. Something else perhaps, but that's not at all how a second place designation works.

I'm hardline Battler supporter, the only reason I was/still am upset about the Christopher Robin results is because he did literally nothing in round 4. There was some incredible OC done in Round 3 for him you're right, I'd go as far to say some of the best of 2022 (pic related being one example, Broly trace being another), but to then go from outstanding OC to non existent was just frustrating because I know Battler would have kept up the energy. Every time I've seen Christopher Robin OC, within the context of King, has been in relation to Battler rather than himself or any other match ups. It just sucked to see great OC that year get killed for nothing, with both Battler and Christopher Robin.

Ammy has to be one of the most punished members of the E8, first she loses from getting falseflagged against Tifa, then she gets falseflagged and spited against for like half of 2023, then not only does she lose finals but there's a pretty sizable chance she's getting demoted from 2nd to 3rd despite being the finals runner-up because of grand finals autism. Even if she wins against SHODAN her options are either "lose twice to the same winner" or "be forever known as a dubiously legitimate winner and get asterisk'd for all future tournaments"
I hope she finds her peace one day

It's fucked too how it feels like both finalists last round are bottlenecked from campaigning right now. Curly is not even on the poll this time, so even with her goodwill she has to still re-rally voters in the grand finals. You already summed up why Ammy is fucked from all angles right now. Right now SHODAN has easy reign to keep pushing for the next several hours, though even her supporters seem to be in mixed moods right now. Much as I've enjoyed her OC, I still think Curly AND Ammy had strong enough campaigns up through the finals where having SHODAN usurp the winner just wouldn't sit right to a vast amount of people. Hosts should have either pushed this current round harder as a race for 2nd or simply just jumped to the grand finals like apparently most of them were expecting.

This sloth match right now? The other hosts were ready to go onto the grand finals with Curly vs. SHODAN before he stepped in to correct. Regardless of who would've won, the seethe about having a loser win + going over the time limit of a week really exhausts people. Usually people wish they can stop staying up and drawing during the weekend, but then they have to continue anyway the days after when they're back to work, so people just give up.

This was a shitshow but at least the hosts aren't making loser brackets a yearly thing and it's still nowhere near as bad as what happened in the Ms. /co/s. I know we all get pissed sometimes but these are week long events out of an entire year, I think banning them is a big overreaction.

I knew the off-topic shitflinging would continue. I got nothing against /co/ but I tried to replace Courage out with Luke just so people would stop bitching and look where we are now it after it was doubled down. I really REALLY hope this doesn't start trend of people avatarfagging as unrelated media as their campaign.

Since the site is down and to get our minds off this utter mess going on right now, what do you think about the performance of the FF characters and their chances? I feel like they underperformed this year considering only Tifa even qualified (and then proceeded to do nothing for 4 rounds before losing to 0 fanfare), the other FF7 girls and a couple vocally supported girls from other games like Terra and Rydia were all off by around a dozen votes. Bit strange since FF on top of being one of the most famous RPG series of all time also has a pretty sizable presence on /v/. Maybe the overlap between FFfags and tourneyfags just isn't very large?

This, some people likes Angela and some people hates her. So the fanbase is split but because she's the literal face of the franchise she always came first regardless. Pretty sure Binah and Gebura is generally well liked its just that they're either unlucky or not enough support.
Also PMfags just kind of disappeared after Limbus, can't blame them. They're not the powerhouse they used to be.

But I guess someone could remind them that if they really wanted to they could shill for Emet-Selch or something. Come to think of it, I don't believe we've ever had an MMO or ASSFAGGOTS pick in any of these tournaments, so that'd be a first I think.

Thats because Jack managed to do what other FF reps couldn't, which is unite FFags. Whenever a FF thread pops up on /v/ most of the time it devolves into anons just arguing about what game is the best and later becomes an all out war between fans from the different main entries. Jack has the advantage that he comes from a spinoff which is popular enough to be liked by /v/ but not too popular to get hate.
