I feel bad for the James anon. 8th still is definitely something to write home about, but it feels like James only fell because of the "James isn't videogames" debacle in Elite Eight. This comes off as really hypocritical after how far AM got to go but then again, I heard people were seething about him too at the end of King. Why can't we just enjoy things?

Since vocaroos are becoming a primary source of OC and with the advent of AI-generated speech will probably keep being one, I was actually thinking of creating a google doc of vocaroos, sorted by characters, and adding it to the next OP. At the very least for this tournament.

It would be a big help if all the campaigners that used vocaroo replied to me with posts linking their stuff throughout the tournament and brief descriptions of the match-up each piece was used for.

Here's REALLY hoping that Heroes of /co/ have good characters. If it does, I'll be willing to give /co/ tournaments a chance.

The reason I find /v/ tournaments better is because many of them have really cool and unique characters and even wiling to give more obscure ones a chance.

Sadly, /co/ is hardly anything like that.

/v/'s taste is overall kind of weird, AAA is shunned for being garbage slop in 90% of cases (unless it's the rare Japanese game) so the real dimes drawers are indies, old classics, fucking memes and the niche gems among the AAA stuff.
I don't really go to /co/ either, but I imagine that there's not much "obscure content" to really talk about if you want to discuss something currently airing, while really old games can be forever relevant due to modding or such.

You really don't go to the /co/ tournaments, do you? Mr. /co/ at least is always stacked with dark horses. I would say they have the issue of having too many of them at times. Like yeah, I do like a lot of these characters but so many popular characters that should have made an elite eight by now that despite also having having campaigning, still get snubbed. I think there shouldn't be heavy bias towards underdogs or popular picks, but a nice balance. The idea a character is "boring" or a character is a "literal who" is never a good mentality.

Plenty of the more obscure characters get a shot on /co/. Maybe not as much in the /tnt/ tourney's so far but that's largely cause the rp autism and campaign base isn't as prevalent. Tag 2021 basically killed it.

Mr. /co/ 2022 literally had a character from a Soviet adaptation of Treasure Island, who was practically resurrected by zoomer memes, making the 128th seed (arguably by freak accident too thanks to the Mr. Boss overlook) and then proceeding to round 3, all while having a genuine campaign and dedicated supporters against any initial doubts. You probably need to lurk more.

Dr. Livesey may have been brought to popularity by zoomer memes, but he's not a zoomer character. This is actually a pretty noticeable difference between /v/'s side tourneys and /co/'s side tourneys (though we only have tag-team to go off of as of now). We had a lot of "cringy" zoomer franchises nominated in these tournaments (FNAF, Undertale, DDLC, Baldi, Among Us, etc.) but people don't spend all the time complaining about how this zoomershit that's not from their childhoods doesn't belong in this tournament, and in FNAF's case it even managed to get a win. Now compare that to /co/ tournaments being almost permanently rooted in millenial nostalgia and shunning a lot of newer stuff (Hilda and DTVA come to mind).

I really want Kefka in King but I feel it'll be nearly impossible to get him in with the series limit on winning series. I'd campaign for him in a Co-op team, although finding a partner for him would be tough. Only one I could think of would be Terra, and the campaign would be Kefka put a slave crown on her and makes her battle their opponents.

Excluding the obvious picks of the KKK Three-Way and Bernkastel vs. King Boo vs. Louie, I really liked Kefka's matches against AM and Mima. Kefka burning down Wario's castle and mind controlling Ashley was amazing too.

With everything going on, I expected it to be a lot closer and not just a definitive choice between Louie or King Boo with Bernkastel being completely wiped out. She did not deserve that. Now on to my fifth through fourth places.

This match was better than it had any right to be. I expected the combine officer that tells you to pick up that can to just be round 1 meme fodder and while he still lost, he was great. Erika refusing to pick up that can and trying to logically prove why she doesn't have to was hilarious. Then there's the fact there was actual OC of this matchup. I don't know how they did it, but it was a really fun matchup and the fact it was makes it worthy of top 5. If we do this again, I will pick up the can next tournament by voting him back in.
>4. Manfred Von Karma vs. King Dedede and The Great Mighty Poo vs. Grox
I can't really choose between these two but they both deserved to be mentioned. I already really liked all their anons, but the matches were fun too. Grox trying to flush Great Mighty Poo and Von Karma attacking Dedede for the way he talks was hilarious. The fact Dedede was able to beat Von Karma who was an expected powerhouse was insane. I'm kind of bummed Dedede was so close to elite eight again and Grox got slaughtered as I voted for both of them. I do still like Wily and Eggman and think Wily deserved to make Elite Eight and Semis. Maybe next time will be it for the King and the Grox empire.
>3. Matias Torres vs. Louie
Despite the one-sided slaughter of my main, I'm glad Torres's anon still didn't underestimate Louie and gave his all in the fight. I had fun. And hey, at least Louie did better in percentage than Binah. I really hope Torres wins this all. He put his absolutely all in this tournament going as far to financially back his candidate. I'm going to get some OC done for Torres too.
>2. Matias Torres vs. Kazuya Mishima
Torres was absolutely destroying the competition up to this point with his lowest voter percentage being 68.1% against Binah. That was until he faced Kazuya and he only won by 54.4%. The OC for this match was great with Kazuya turning into a demon and the whole video of it. I don't like how anons started accusing him of rigging. Initially, I was going to vote for Karl in the KKK match, but the Kazuya OC won me over. Despite backing Torres now, I actually did vote for Kazuya in this match as well. I think he deserved elite eight after winning two three-ways in a row. Overall, this has been a pretty great tournament and I still stick by Louie being the most fun I ever had with a campaign.

You really can't hate either one, as both of them had very strong OC with Torres' audio and Kazuya's visuals. It helps that they both come from Namco franchises that contain referential nods to each other, meaning that there's a huge fandom overlap going on. While I'm glad Torres made it to finals, I would've easily voted for both Kazuya and Torres to make elite if they weren't facing each other in round 4, and I hope Kazuya gets a boost when Tekken 8 releases.
