Tinkerbell is a serious shocking dark horse. Her first run? It was a bit of a peak NSA Gayops year, I can see her skirting to Top 16. But to then upstage that with an even lower seed (which was already in the 120 rage)? I never knew fairies were packin' heat. Sadly I feel 2024 was her only serious shot at E8. If she even qualifies next year I fear traditonal brackets will kick her ass.

Maybe not as much as people here say, but I think it exists to an extent. The Disney characters that do well just have things to them that transcend petty company biases. Tinkerbell appeals to people with a fairy fetish, Alice appeals to lolifags, L&S is in the same spot as ENG (came out roughly at the same time period, too), and Jessica Rabbit is not really associated with Disney. Most of the female characters from the actual classic/Renaissance movies are still jobbers.

Let’s explain the drawn-out schizo logic that leads us to this
First thing, the spammer has openly admitted to being a Sharty user. They are disingenuous and everything they say is fake to get replies or to drown out discussion/ “ruin” tournaments. That said they are still very mentally ill.
Now, their “gimmick” is pretending to meltdown over dads because their fake story is their dad left them, so now they are a pedo who self-inserts as shotas fucking moms. Their other “gimmick” is pretending to be rejected from the industry in the 2000s, so they go off on 2000s shows.
Mr Incredible is the most successful character hitting both so that’s their main target. People say because Scotsman lost to him but it’s really because cartoon dad fits the gimmick. He made 8th in the 2020 contest, so to tie it in they say all 8th place characters are “cucked” and goes after 8th place ones now.
That’s the connected answer. It’s the Sharty user being a retard and forcing a meme in character

Kim is a character everyone was attracted to growing up in the 2000s so will always have a natural base support, but is slightly too pure hero and dull to be a powerhouse enough for a full win or to get past semis

What makes the 2010s difficult to pinpoint favorites for guys is the characters/series are largely inconsistent every year performance wise. It’s not unusual to see a high seed one year be a low seed to not qualify the next because a series can fall off quick for /co/
Regardless if its Primal, DHMIS, Regular Show, Dan Vs, Gravity Falls, Rango, etc, they all seem to be very inconsistent which makes it hard to say what’s favored
Arguably the best chances are Stan Pines and Benson right now but neither seem to have the it-factor as a strong contender and keep falling on and off. The one from the era who does have the consistent moment is Doof and he’s 2000s.
New media will help but can’t take inconsistent low carders all the way. Gumball and Nick Wilde will probably return to the bracket but go nowhere. Eventually we’ll get a strong 2010s nostalgic core but we’re still awhile off

Spinel and Fang are complicated if you wanna count them as exceptions to the 2000 bias too, cause with Spinel of course it's a case of FOTM rigging, and Fang it's King of 2000s Genndy wank. If you look at the general E8 and powerhouse spread Ms. /co/ is extremely 2000's favored. The strongest non-2000's pick statistically (going off of >>177823) is ENA.

Uncle Remus is eligible under his original novels because he debuted far before SOTS in Uncle Remus: His Songs and His Sayings, which is a picture book where Remus appears in numerous illustrations throughout the course of the book. As such he counts as an /co/ character

Eddie Valiant potentially could be eligible under his originating novel Who Censored Roger Rabbit? since the first edition cover contains an illustration of him on the cover. However, that is far more grey line and would be up to host discretion

Fang is the hardest winner to read. I think unlike the hype /v/ winners most of the board will still like her enough that she'd remain a strong contender. It wasn't just a one year thing, Fang's hype lasted two years after the Fang Gang started. I think there's a strong element of meme hype, meta dickery, and recency, but it wasn't full blown inter-tourney narrative wank. The biggest problem is how Ms. 2022 just had a weird as fuck rigging and finale problems. This is mostly on NSA's handling of things, who themselves are of course very suspect in hindsight.
I don't think Fang is a bad winner in herself. But there's the Ms. /co/ weirdness about her. 5/10 imo.

The idea that it’s a 4D chess spitefest basically comes from 2021. I think it’s mainly that it’s constantly had weird results and meta controversies. Last year was pretty much the most conventional year since 2018 and where you had a winner that felt like they were actually a winner. Now we just need the tourney to feel like a normal enough tourney.

I don't know. Rape as a subject in vidya is pretty rare, reserved only for hgames or artsy indie games. But you look at something like comic books, everyone gets fucking raped. Talia roofied Batman, Spider-man got (almost) molested, Nightwing got raped 2-3 times, Mark got smashed by Viltrum pussy, etc. and etc. And that's just the guys. This crap just doesn't happen to famous vidya characters. You'll never see Doomguy get sodomized or Dante forced to impregnate some chick.
And yet, /v/ is beating the same rape jokes to death over and over, whereas /co/ only really did it once or twice.

Am I the only one who gets the feeling all the "Disney stigma" whining is very Disney adult-flavored? I think Donald and Scrooge, for example, should have made E8 by now, and it is in fact a common point of discussion (although both have gotten fairly close multiple times), but when it comes to a majority of Disney characters it is fairly understandable why they eat shit. Disney is not owed having multiple winners and elite characters even if it has the prestige of being "the largest studio on the planet".

Don't think anyone says they are entitled to anything, however people can however point out that the brand name hurts contestants on that aspect alone, because the WB/CN/AS realm is seen as the alternative underdog adult channel that aligns with 4chan's views while Disney is seen as too mainstream.
On the original subject, Doof or Candice making E8 would be neat. They likely won't because of how the board's interpretation of the company changed since Doof's last appearance in E8, regardless if the reboot is well responded to.

Either their big moments already happened or they have enough legacy content to counteract anything ridiculous that might happen later. A lot of Deltarune's cast on the other hand could absolutely change with the last three chapters for worse or for better. Other than more chapter-specific characters, the only one that seems fairly safe to remain mostly stagnant in reception is Susie.

Vote samefagging has always been kind of an unspoken thing to maintain a degree of suspension of disbelief.
Any tourney where the post count is less or just somewhat higher than the vote count is most likely riggerfucked by a handful of people though imo. I think smaller tourneys are actually hit way worse proportionally than the big four are.

This unironically. A couple hundred anon's doing something on 4chan probably moves the needle more than casual millions on youtube or most other social media. Mind how massively the modern internet's mimetics and culture was built by what a relatively tiny group of 4chan autists in the early-mid 2000's were doing, and in some way are still shaping. Also on a prestige end, hundreds of dedicated autists voting a win for their favorite is better than some dbs dickhead arbitrarily making a powerwank judgement on youtube.

I think it's twofold. the original host tried desperately to make the tranny tournament "a thing", despite the clear lack of interest. the dude really wanted a place in history if I had to guess. and then later people started bringing it up to troll.

The film drama had zero effect. Wile E. has gotten in before because people genuinely like the character irregardless of other shit. In general, it's rare for movies to actually affect Mr. results, especially for hybrid slop.

I think we all know the answer to that. I doubt a trailer will help either but as the other said, Wile E is already a strong enough contestant that he doesn’t need king of /v/ style of cinema boosts to do well. Saying he’s only doing well because of animation fandom controversy kind of cheapens the character.

Anon he was 11th seed last year and was a tiebreaker away from 10th. Usually if he qualifies it was in the 90s-100s. Marvin got series limited with 18th so if there wasn’t film drama wouldn’t have even qualified, let alone make it to 3rd round. Film definitely had an effect and elevated the character’s performance
