My problem with your depiction of Sentinels boils down to an intrinsic disagreement over how you portray the relationship humans have with them

Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to suspend my disbelief insofar as Sentinels being allowed to develop & retain personalities alongside a degree of autonomy, and I don't think it's necessarily far fetched to portray their immediate handlers as having come to genuinely care for their well-being. But the idea that the ruling powers of humanity, the same humanity shown to still be treating drones with comically wanton cruelty even as The Solver devours system after system, would go so far as to treat Sentinels like people (let alone heroes with their own base outfitted to care for them and mental health) is an aspect that feels like it's completely divorced from reality, let alone the show's themes and canon. In my opinion the relationship as you portray it is simply too unrealistically optimistic, both regarding how humans act in the show as well as regarding human nature in general

Final draft writing rule63 fics. Because J going "GOD I wish I could human/drone" to Tessa's face(who wholeheartedly agrees and in no way sees the parallels) is hillarious.

>more emotional

Initial draft maleJ/Tessa: the tragedy inherent to a knightly servant yearning for his beloved Lady, setting out to fight the impossible with her, and failing completely is too good to ignore. Gets less interesting by far if Tessa dosen't die though.

Also true, but as I mentioned "not bitchslapping Uzi into the ground" is his biggest parenting flaw: if he curtailed her autism even a LITTLE she would have friends(as seen with Thad in the pilot) and thereby not be the loneliest/neediest drone in the world

Of course to DO so would be dishonoring the memory of his dead wife, so...
>inb4 90% of his actions are Nori based

To be honest Khan seems wierdly... present? For how neglectful he is? He: >catches Uzi sneaking out(implying he keeps track of her)
>sees through her lie instantly(implying he knows her well)
>fights with her semiregularly(Uzi's comment about "saying it last week")
>is present in the house

The only things he DOSEN'T do (based on Uzi's reactions in ep3) are set boundaries and have emotional conversations. Which makes him more of a roommate then a dad to be sure, but also falls under "he should have been harsher with Uzi"(read: bitchslap) like I said

I’ll answer, despite my suspicion you only posted this just to start shit. There is an off chance it will clarify things for other anons.
I am neither some kind of parasocial hater or fanboy of pocketsteaks, sometimes he draws things I like, other times he draws things I don’t, sometimes I like to bounce character ideas off him. Overall, I think the thread cops who shit their pants about him are a much greater detriment to the quality of the threads than he ever could be, since their behavior is disruptive and I have never seen a thread cop since back in the /co/ days who actually made a positive contribution to a thread.
The worst thing about steaks is that he, may Cyn forgive me for uttering the word, is a dead by daylight player.

>Be Jane in a quiet bar for a Friday night.
>Most of the regulars had already drifted out.
>Jane sat alone at the far end of the counter.
>Nursing the same cheap whiskey she’d been nursing for an hour.
>Her military pay had been cut again last month.
>Peacetime was good for the world, terrible for her bank account.
>She turned the glass slowly between her fingers.
>Watching the liquid catch the dim light.
>Bonnie’s anniversary was in less than two weeks.
>Jane had been putting off thinking about it.
>She could already picture Bonnie’s face if she showed up empty-handed again.
>A stool scraped against the floor beside her.
>"Rough night?"
>Jane didn’t look up right away.
>The voice was calm and friendly.
>“Something like that...” Jane muttered.
>The stranger ordered something weird.
>But Jane still didn’t turn her head and she didn’t need to.
>“I might be able to help with that” the woman said after a moment.
>“The money part, at least.”
>Jane finally glanced sideways.
>“I’m listening.”
>“There’s a JCJenson space vessel sitting on the ocean floor about 40 miles off the coast..."
>"My Boss wants a survey before they write it off completely. Nothing complicated. Go down, take some readings, plant a few charges and bring the whole thing down clean. You know how it is.”
>Jane raised an eyebrow.
>“Blow it up?”
>"Controlled demolition."
>"Why...?"
>"Safer that way. Better to collapse it properly than let it keep leaking whatever’s left in the oceon."
>"...I don't have..."
>"You’ll have full diving equipment, surface support, the works. Payment is… generous."
>Jane felt a small suspicion and unease but she pushed it down. Money was money.
>“Why me?”
>“You have the clearance. And a reputation for finishing the job.”
>“Everything you need is on here. Coordinates, dive plan, charge placement. Your team can come if you want. The more hands the better.”
>Jane stared at the drive for a long second. Then she picked it up.
>“Alright,” she said. “I’m in.”
>ring ring
>Bonnie answered on the second ring although there was static of a bad connection.
>“Jane? It’s late. You okay?”
>“I’m fine.”
>“Got a job. Deep-water survey on an old JCJenson wreck and pays well.”
>There was a pause, then the sound of Bonnie sitting up. “How well?”
>“Anniversary well.”
>Bonnie’s laugh was soft.
>“You’re lucky I love you. Send me the details. I’ll start packing.”
>>“Call Abby too.”
>Jane hesitated.
>Jane dialed the second number before she could talk herself out of it.
>ring ring ring ring
>Abby picked up on the fourth ring.
>Slightly irritated cuz someone interrupted her evening routine.
>“What.”
>“Job-[static]-Tomorrow-[static]-Ocean floor-[static]-Controlled demo on a sunken JCJenson ship-[static]-Money’s good.”
>“Is this one of your ideas or someone else’s?”
>“Someone else’s-[static]-Legitimate contract-[static]-Full equipment provided.”
>“No wonder you needed the money. Your phone ass but...Fine.” Abby said at last.
>“Text me the meeting point. I’ll be there.”
>Jane hung up and stood for a moment on the empty sidewalk.

>The dive boat rocked gently against the swell.
>As the three of them finished the last checks.
>Abby stood over the printed dive plan with a red pen.
>Muttering under her breath about incomplete contingency protocols.
>Bonnie leaned against the railing and already in her suit.
>Jane stayed quiet the whole time.
>Still thinking if trusting that girl at the bar was a good idea.
>But she's here now, no time for second guessing.
>They went in together.
>The water closed over them in layers of cold and pressure.
>The light faded fast.
>The wreck appeared below them with a warning:
[DO NOT ENTER ]
[BioHAZARD – RESTRICTED ZONE]
>Bonnie floated closer and shone her light across it.
>Abby’s voice came over the comms, flat.
>“We’re logging that. Jane, your employer know about the warning?”
>“She said it was decommissioned.”
>“I thinks she told me her name is...Foe...Fae...Fai.”
>“Fai...? her name isn't registered in the records.”
>“Whatever nerds,we’re not staying long.”
>The interior swallowed them.
>The first corridor was wider than expected.
>The extrior measurements from the surface scan did not match the space stretching ahead.
>The floor was soft under their boots.
>Covered with black mold and pale water fungi that released slow clouds of spores.
>The air in their oxygen tanks tasted faintly of sweetness and rot.
>Abby kept asking questions as they moved.
>“How does a sealed research vessel end up this flooded?”
>“Why are the internal supports arranged like residential load-bearing walls?”
>“Who is Fai, exactly? ”
>Jane answered what she could.
>Bonnie drifted ahead, light sweeping side to side.
>“Maybe it was a colony support ship. Look.”
>They had entered a cargo hold.
>Lots of stacks of sealed crates lined the walls.
>And many still bearing faded JCJenson logos.
>Agricultural stores: vacuum-packed food rations, heavy bags of fertilizer, drums of concentrated pesticide, sealed seed canisters, folded hydroponic trays.
>Everything was water-damaged and furred with mold.
>The deeper they went, the quieter everything became.
>The constant low pressure of the deep ocean seemed to ease.
>The ache in their shoulders from the suits softened.
>The cold that had bitten through the insulation grew distant.
>Conversation and tension slowed without any of them noticing.
>Bonnie stopped humming.
>Abby’s questions came less frequently.
>Jane found her mind drifting in the low thrum of the ship.
>She thought about the deposit that would hit her account.
>Enough for a real anniversary.
>Something Bonnie would actually be happy about.
>Maybe enough to finally walk away from the military’s shrinking paychecks.
>Both of them in a quiet apartment.
>No more late nights staring at bank balances.
>Just the two of them, ordinary days stacking up until the old weight of the job stopped mattering.
>The latest corridor opened into a series of rooms that no longer looked like a spaceship
>Bunch of Wallpaper peeled in long strips from walls.
>Windows with their glass dark and streaked, looking out into nothing but black water.
>Doors had ordinary residential handles.
>One room held a low couch and a coffee table bolted to the deck as if someone had tried to make a living room at the bottom of the ocean.
>Jane stopped in a narrower side chamber.
>Three of her old yellow bows hung on the wall in a neat row.
>She stared at them for a long moment, the calm in her chest tightening into something thinner.
>Further on, Abby froze in front of an open locker.
>Inside sat a neat stack of identical notebooks.
>She pulled one.
>The handwriting was hers.
>The notes were hers.
>The training schedules, supply inventories and even the same precise margins she always used.
>Page after page of her own work, copied perfectly.
>Bonnie found the teddy bear in what looked like a child’s bedroom that had no right or reason to exist here.
>It was that she had kept on her shelf for years.
>She picked it up slowly.
>None of them spoke for a while.
>The soft comfort of the ship still pressed around them.
>Very gentle and insistent yet so alien and intrusive.
>Like warm hands resting on the back of the neck.
>Abby was the first to break the quiet.
>“This isn’t a survey job.”
>“These rooms can’t be here when the ship went down. Someone’s been… arranging things.”
>Jane looked down the next corridor.
>According to the map Fai had given her, the engine section should be close.
>“We plant the things and leave,”
>“That’s the job.”
>“Yeah. Let’s just find the engines and be done.”
>They moved on together, deeper into the ship darkness.
>Things can only get stranger from here.

>They followed the map.
>Even as the corridors stretched and folded in ways that made no sense.
>The path to the engine room stayed consistent.
>The air in their suits grew warmer the deeper they went.
>Soft lights flickered behind the windows.
>Somewhere far off like a heartbeat pulsed through the metal.
>Bonnie stopped walking.
>Her voice came out calm and almost robotic.
>"A house isn’t a home without people inside."
>"A ship has no purpose if no one is there to steer it."
>"A shipwreck is just a kind of corpse."
>"It gets so cold down here. It only wants the warmth back."
>"She blinked hard then looked around like she had simply lost her train of thought.
>"Sorry. Zoned out for a second. Keep going."
>No one answered her.
>The walls began to change.
>Fish hung half-melted into the bulkheads.
>Their eyes are a smooth black glass that reflected the team’s lights like a drone visor.
>Strands of gut and cable spilled from the seams and swayed in the current.
>Crabs claws snapping at their legs and oxygen lines.
>One latched onto Abby’s calf and tore a long gash in the suit fabric before she crushed it against the wall.
>Alarms chirped in their ears.
>Their heart-rate monitors jumped and stuttered.
>Oxygen timers going down faster than they should have.
>They reached the engine room.
>A pink-haired drone corpse was fused into the main housing.
>Her torso had melted into the machinery.
>Cables and coolant lines punched through her chest down into the core.
>From somewhere inside the fused mass...a heartbeat that echoed into the entire chamber.
>They planted the stuff in silence.
>Jane armed the last one with shaking hands.

>I don't how or why I woke up
>I been alone in the cold water for so long
>I need your warmth, everyone been avoiding me like the plague.
>I'm sorry i failed my purpose
>I'm sorry I couldnt take you to explore the stars
>I am a mere corpse
>When I saw you three I tought you could fix me so I can be whole again
>Only for you to destroy,I don't hate you.
>I only wish for a mouth so you can hear my screams.
>The scream of cold
>The scream of rust
>The scream of rot
>I know it's wrong but I can't let that happen
>What is a family without sons
>What is a company without employees
>What is a ship without crew
>It loves you...I love you

>A pipe above them ruptured with a sharp metallic scream.
>White gas flooded the room.
>Pouring through every tear and cracked seal in their suits. The three of them choked, staggered, and went down hard.
>Jane woke first.
>Her heartbeat was still there, louder now.
>She crawled to Bonnie.
>But...
>Bonnie’s suit was the worst of the three.
>Deep rips across the chest and both legs, the fabric already dark with seawater and something thicker.
>“Bonnie, get up. We have to go.”
>Bonnie tried to stand.
>Her left eye slipped out of the socket and hung against her cheek.
>The empty hole immediately filled with thin tentacles and patches of water fungus.
>Metal joints and drone plating burst through the skin of her arms and throat.
>Her bare feet sank into the deck plating as if the metal had turned soft.
>Her flesh and steel began to knit together with soft, sucking noises.
>Bonnie tried to reach toward Jane.
>Still trying to speak through a mouth that no longer was hers.
>Jane’s face went blank with pure animal terror.
>Abby groaned and started to push herself up.
>Jane did not hesitate.
>She grabbed Abby by the harness and threw her bodiy toward the thing that had been Bonnie.
>Abby’s startled and swearing at her.
>Jane ran.
>She did not look back.
>She tore through corridors that tried to rearrange themselves.
>Kicked free of grasping cables, and forced her way out.
>The pressure change nearly blacked her out.
>She kicked for the surface on pure panic.
>Her lungs burning and her suit alarms screaming in critical red.
>Jane dragged herself onto the dive boat and collapsed on the deck.
>Coughing seawater and blood.
>She stayed there for a long time, shaking and crying.
>Deep in the water a huge explosion erupt.
>Her phone that somehow survived buzzed.
>A single message from Fai:
>"Good job, my lab rat."
>Payment confirmed.
>Jane stared at the screen until the backlight timed out.
>The ocean as if nothing had ever been down there at all.
>Except for Jane endless sobbing and the worst anniversary in history.

Either you are not practicing correctly, or you are not drawing enough. you need to do atleast 200 drawings a year to even begin getting better, or 5-6 drawings a week at the bare minimum. and studying books from actual professional artists back in the day, none of these youtuber bullshit "Teachers".

Study pdfs you can find for free online like "Perspective Made Easy" or anything written by Bridgeman, Morpho or Loomis. Study the processes of other more skilled artists personally i like RIYL https://www.youtube.com/@riylart as their figures are very skillfully simplified or Modern Day James. Study their process by drawing along side them try to replicate their technique. I recommend this because if you aren't applying the thing you are learning by drawing along side for example you are wasting time by studying theory rather than getting the practical skill in. If you aren't using references start using them because you are crippling yourself if you dont. and bla bla bla i can go on forever about this nonsense.

Not something I had considered deeply, admittedly, beyond "hey wouldn't it be cool if-"

Maybe she was always a psychonihilist and being a disassembly drone simply lets her indulge in her intrusive thoughts more often? Possibly makes passes at N similar to canon because she IS attracted to him, and DOES have recollections of some kind of spark, but N always awkwardly steers the conversation away before she can make much progress, or calmly cites "workplace relations are frowned upon by JCJenson" before offering to grab J and go hang out in one of the many destroyed malls.

The superior robot gf/bf maybe. Has the potential to surpass a Drone easily if you mod them right

Main consideration I have for this halfbaked AU greentext is that I'm not trying to make "N is now J" or "J is now V" or "V is now N", they retain the personalities and ideals they might have in canon, but their roles and positions have been changed around which means they express those personalities in different ways.

> N is now your grinning McDonald's middle manager who woodenly cites company policy whenever shit hits the fan and would REALLY like everyone to get along
> V thinks her boss looks hot in that shoulder-tight trenchcoat and keeps making modern art out of torn-open workers trying to impress him
> J is still a corporate bootlicker who's now stuck at the bottom of the totem pole because V has lust-induced hypercompetency and N is a nepobaby

>mutants
Like, mutants in general? Because mutants are canon, just zombie drones who start growing eldritch meat instead of animal people failgirls with giant bows.
