My Friends! Hello. It's time to get back to talking about Drones! Yes it is, yes it is. Not that we ever stopped. Let's keep going anyways! I hope you are doing amazing! The marvelous Booru: https://dronebooru.co The wheel of shockingly beautiful OCs: https://wheelofnames.com/8hc-stc And the last Thread: >>108291
>>108665 Take your time, don't feel like your forced to do anything. Take solace in the fact that people only ""complain"" because they genuinely enjoy what you have to offer. Don't let something fun become a chore or the bad stuff get in the way. However, if you do decide to go the way of KatAnon, atleast give us a goodbye
>>108852 >>109213 anon lurks in the periphery of a drone's vision, just out of sight like a... very large cockroach and he's just asking to be walloped like one too
>it's been years since you brought Alice to the surface, but sometimes she's still down there in those ruins >forgotten. hunted. surrounded by death >always one step away from the jaws snapping at her heels >she doesn't see the home you two have made together then. just dark hallways and dim, flickering lights. >cubicles and lockers turned graveyards. >she hasn't repeated a hiding spot yet. even like this, she's too clever for that. >but you know this place too well, and some part of her wants to be found. knows she doesn't have to fight tooth and nail just to see tomorrow. >so her traps fail. her attacks don't connect. she holds back unconsciously. >that's why you can even approach her, making your presence known as you climb the stairs to the attic. >you find her in the corner behind boxes and old furniture, with just enough space to have a clear line of sight to the window and stairwell. >she starts as you approach. her eyes are fixed on you but she sees something else. >softly, you call her name– offering soothing words, trying to bring her back home. you don't move any closer. >it's important that she chooses to come to you. you can't pull her out of this on your own. you wish to god you could. >slowly, never breaking eye contact, she draws a little closer, knife in hand. >"a human? how did... who..?" >it's not the first time she hasn't recognized you. you know she always gets better. your heart sinks all the same. >she narrows her eyes, her grip on the knife faltering. "you're not one'a the doctors..." >her eyes dance about your features. a flash of recognition. "...so why... why do ah know you?" >she's waking up. the fog is parting, and you can help guide her out. >you give her the warmest smile you can muster. I'm your husband, Alice. the luckiest man in the world. >you gingerly extend your hand, and she gets a little closer. you're home, and you're safe. everything's alright. >cautiously, she places her hand in yours >and the spell is broken. >tears well in her eyes, and she throws her arms around you, burying her face in your chest. >you hold her tight. >she tries to whisper an apology with a tear-choked voice, but you just hug her tighter and shake your head. don't you dare go blaming yourself. >you kiss her forehead, stroking her hair. >her episodes were getting shorter. fewer and further between. someday soon, they'd be a thing of the past >but for now, you held your wife tight as you could, as if any moment she'd be pulled back to that tomb. >you told her you loved her, and she told you the same tenfold. it'd be a while before either of you let go.
>>109239 I draft on the computer, if I draft at all. And I try to write about the whole interaction. Suffering, the respite between the battles, the whole shebang. And I try to keep it close to the show, but it's ultimately an AU that I write for.
>>109274 NTA Off the top of my head I can remember >Springlockanon >Katanon >Gimelanon >Alephanon >Henryanon >DAnon (the one who posted the other D) But there are definitely more
>>109275 105 threads, exceeded Plus /co/'s current post count (discounting the archived posts that is) within months. Greens and art. All things considered, an okay run for a show with a season of eight episodes. The slow dimming of the warmth is inevitable.
>>109282 If these threads are a star, how recently did we leave the red giant phase, and are we on track to become a dwarf star, neutron star, or black hole
>>109262 >Thad finds an unconscious girl and brings her into his home. >She has no memory, but is somehow able to survive the frigid cold, lack of air and food. >She also can turn into an humongous beast >Thad decides to keep her hidden so Khan doesn’t throw her out. >One day the DD break in. >Thad’s “Friend” bites the shit out of one in beast mode >She is smashed against the wall. >She turns back into her normal form. >She is taken away by the DD >Thad is alone
>>109282 What is meant is, if these threads slow down to a halt that they die, I don't wanna go to twitter, tumblr or reddit to post art or writings of drones like some of the other contentfags here because those places are literal hell, AO3 is fine though.
>>109286 >Are they important? Considering that they helped create content that attracted people to the threads on top of some of their content still being referenced to this day, I'd say yes
>>109293 Cut it down into chapters and focus on doing those. Stop when you don't feel like it. But make sure each of your stopping points is a good point to stop.
>>109298 >>bluesky >Worse than Twitter, somehow You don't know the half of it, almost every single twitter leftist has gone to bluesky and they can essentially ex-communicate you because they have block lists that people can subscribe to where you can be added for saying anything critical of the left. Bluesky also has a problem with pedophiles since they decided to make bluesky their new home.
>>109300 God, don't you just love the modern internet? Do I pick the glorified bot-infested propaganda outlet of the developmentally stunted oligarch with daddy issues or do I pick the hugbox for mentally ill shut-ins and puritans where sneezing too hard gets you banned?

>>109316 I agree. Smile's posts and his love for V keep me smiling. Unrelated to Smiles, I like this guy's models. Nice, clean and shiny. Pretty accurate as well, to my average non-artist eyes.
>>109276 wow, what a surprise, the Alicegreen and the content of it That is so well written and original of a setting and idea, with her traumatic disturbed episodes, very fitting considerate and emotional. I never thought of that happening myself, damn well written anon Very immersive, the literal heartstopping moment of her not recognizing you, to the hug, kissing her head, not wanting to let her go wow was very intense, made me feel similiar to the way things were last year, in a good way. I thought much about Alice since then, but that green touches on fundamental stuff I began to miss unknowingly. Excellent work, would not want to let her go then, the idea of her being aline and unsafe then in that tomb again oh. CFL is so vast, it has a strangely almost deceptive coziness, with the Wooden pannels, the loungelike warmly iluminated stairhouse and close surroundings, but all humans or warmth died long ago, all the empty cold blue and darks hallways, it is a very atmospheric and sadly beautiful place. Wish I could show you to rendered camera fly throughs frombGlitchInn but I haven't found a way yet. Anyways a very bittersweet atmospheric green that I love, ye made me ;_; as another said too, thanks very inspiring
>>102328 >You stand there in the ever-moist soil, trying to feel out the wiry "Limb" attached to your hip. It's hard to describe, but it's like having a finger with a borderline impossible number of ball joints. You try to curl it, to which it twitches a little bit, albeit not in the exact direction you want. You take a hold of it before bringing it's bladed tip up into view. You surprisingly can't really feel much even though you're holding onto it. Like, you can feel the pressure and presence of your hands, but it's not painful or sensitive in any real way. >A tail is like an extension of your back, no? You focus your efforts on trying to move at least the tip of it, and to your shock it actually starts to move a little bit. Left, right, forwards, backwards, all of those directions at your signal in an instant. Sure, it's imprecise at best and clunky at worst, but you feel like you're slowly starting to get a handle of working with it. Dropping it on the ground and closing your eyes, you try to almost mentally envision it as another, independent "Spine" so to speak, attempting to find whatever the "Correct" way of controlling it is. Soon, the part closest to your hip begins to stiffen and stabilize. >You concentrate all of your efforts on the tail, and slowly but surely, the tip begins to lift off the ground, or at least you think it does. You continue to concentrate on moving it, and soon you open your eyes to the sight of the tip in the air, the tail forming a perfectly smooth connective arc from your hip to the blade. Surprisingly, it doesn't take much thought to make it stay that way. It just kind of sticks there in the air, even when you momentarily take your attention off of it when Avre calls out from her log. >"Trust me, that one takes some getting used to. Hope you figure that one out" >The tail seems to almost settle behind you as you walk over to a rock for a sit down, as if it's underwater or in zero gravity weirdly enough. You take note of this, realizing that you might have not been dragging it around at all and it was simply in this neutral state between stiff and limp. It bends when you brush your hand along it, but it doesn't stay that way and springs back to it's prior shape. Weird, but you'll get used to it. >Alright, what other things can you do with this body? You look through the menus once more, eventually coming to something that greatly interests you: >Wings 36/??
>>109321 One day you will, how about Alice watching you in bed? Her warm eyes, her smooth hands on a cold night, the dark hair and visor melting into one with the dark...
>>109262 Thanks for the thread, you are best. Hope the best for you and the exams, really, but whatever happens, giving it so much no matter the outcome is an achievement in itself, even if it does nit workout you gave it all and it was not meant to be. Assuming you are the one struggling with the programming/informatics exam soon, I hope you succeed, I myself won't make it
>>109332 I want Alice saved and Beau too, It may take stakes away but we should have gotten good end for all drones. In the end 8 still ruined V's deveiopment and had no deaths why not just make Uzi fix the others, campers, Alice&Beau, if possible even Yeva and her family, if that had happened rhe Uzi hate on here would decrease a lot. It would have been based the characters are too good to waste and abandon then
You think you're cool with it, but if you found out Earth is nothing more than a human farm for highly advanced alien drones to abduct cuddle-buddies from as they desire, you'd be a little upset. Not the cuddling part, but the idea that all of human history was manipulated by robots who wanted to breed designated huggers.
>>109346 >Sometimes when J and Cyn are alone, Cyn likes to make subtle movements, like her human hand reaching out to touch J's. >Mumbled apologies. >Clues that Tessa is still there. >She isn't, of course. >But it's funny to see her reactions.
>>109349 >Uzi, N, and V read the post, and immediately start panicking. >"AHHHHH!" >V quickly heads outside, decapitates a random worker, and tosses the head at Uzi. >"Ow!" Uzi rubs her head. "That's not funny V! We've been through this that's backsliding on your character development!" >"Yeah V!" N agrees. >"I'm sorry!" V quickly picks up the severed head and slams it back on the drone. He boots up after a second, shooting V a dirty look.
Hello once again friends! I've been gone for a while now, but I've returned to give some good news. The map has been completely reworked to include tridimensional elements. This means the map will take longer to finish however, so be patient.
I am currently continuing to map out the Phoenix systems and the Theatre system, and I'm interested in the Osmium system. If (you) wish to submit more star systems from you AUs, go ahead!
>>108665 I completely understand you anon. When my friend who's one of the more popular artists here first introduced me to the /co/ threads and 4chan as a whole back in 2023, I enjoyed and wanted to become a part of the community, but wanting to fit in slowly withered away my desire to draw. The growing toxicity in these threads has made me scared of sharing my art from fear of being ridiculed at best and doxxed at worst. I just wanted to have fun and share my art with anons, but now I feel empty inside despite having a SO and friends.
>In the city of Neo-Detroit. It is well known that the Oog gangs graffiti whatever they see. Once tagged, anything would be seen as property and another territory for the respective gang hive. >While its common so see buildings and public property to sport the tags of the gang throughout the city, this marking of territory doesn’t stop there. >Animals, Drones, and even humans of the city aren’t safe for the oogsters conquest for turf, with humans being the most common >Once marked, whatever rights there were will be striped away by the oogsters. You’ll be viewed and seen as not only the property of either oog gangs but also their obedient trophy. A prize flaunt around amongst members. >If any of the three were to die, their dead bodies will still be treated as territory as long as the gang’s tag is still present. >The only way to remove said tag is to scrub it off but if this process were to be caught – either by an oogster or a snitch – there will be dire consequences. >If rival oog gang finds a drone or a living creature with the rival’s tag, they will tag over the previous one and force to comply to the other gang. >While only kept as trophys. Sometimes, oogsters use both humans and drones as a form of manual labor for the gangs that normal oogis can’t typically do. >More often than not, humans and drones are put to work in gang controlled greenhouses meant for the growth of berries and illegally modified berries as well as the packaging and distribution of the oogi narcotic ‘Enn Dwust’. >They can also serve as informers and inside men if the oogis ever tagged someone that was part of the government. >While it is unclear how far up the ladder this corruption, so far it only seems to be only a couple of beat cops. >But who’s to say that the oogster didn’t tag someone that is higher on the totem poll >Be it the chief of police. >Or even the mayor. >Who really knows just how far this goes.
things are really, really hard right now for me and my family thank you guys for being so autistic as to keep this place still alive and kicking, love you FAGGOTS
>>109362 :] >>109364 which drawanon are you? maybe we’ll use yours next time :]
>>109367 >The growing toxicity in these threads has made me scared of sharing my art from fear of being ridiculed at best and doxxed at worst You literally have no reason to fear that last part, the only time a dox happened was because of discord drama bullshit. Also art ridicule is a big woop! Who gives a fuck, trust me, someone is going to like it and that's all that matters
My drone is too clingy. How do I make her realize she doesn't need to record her every moment with me. Right now she's saying it's because she's immortal and I'll only live like 80 years and sure that sounds sweet at first but does she really need to record me in the bathroom too?
>>109379 Anon look, I'm not a fucking doctor and I'm certainly not a cure all, but you gotta lighten up alright? Going hard on yourself isn't gonna help you at all, if anything it's going to ruin your life and prevent you from growing and changing as a person for the better. I understand that your afraid to get ridiculed again, but if you don't do anything that feeling is going to eat you up inside until your core is nothing more than a pile of rotten mush all because you didn't fight back against that voice in your head that tells you you're wrong. You can do this Anon, alright? Because if you don't, you never will
>>109380 Remind her that she doesn't need to look upon footage of you emptying your bowels when your dead to remember you. It's not the best nor cleanest way to remember someone.
>>109398 Very fucking bad. The threads are constantly derailed to absurd levels, ""pillars"" are everywhere, and alot of high-level trolling, I mean taking someone's OC and drawing vore with them and spamming it because the person cuts themself when distressed type shit
>>109303 I will be here as long as I can, in a year and a half I will be taken into the army and it will be hard to keep in touch with you there, but I will not forget you and I will not abandon you.
You're the first internet community I've been this close to.
We have the following OCs >human >worker >disassembly >other drone (sentinel, manipulator) >other robot (labor, boxo, cube) >solver flesh >eldritch being
>>109405 No idea, I think that's why it hasn't been properly done. I remember the closest was that one Manta-Ray greentext, but that was never finished
>>109375 Tell the Harperfag to make an account and write the entry. You don't even need an e-mail. Just make sure to make it concise, only necessary information about the character.
>>109311 No, suffer. I am also on my way out like femix for much the same reasons. The way of the content fag is to disappear in obsura. That is the only correct way. If you search hard enough you can sniff out the digital trail of most contentfags but leaving contact info is for fegoots
>>109419 i’ll be literally fine cause i have poosay rather than bepis— >the domestic family the humans will just feel like a good ol smack, but the disassembly drones… nevermind the crotch part, i dunno if i could survive getting slapped by a disassembly drone as hard as possible *anywhere* especially an N unit
>>109389 Probably combination of college stress since a lot of us seem to be in their early twenties and winter seasonal depression, Vit-D deficiency hits wagies and college students hard 'cause they already get less than ideal sun.
going to sleep with N and huddling together under the covers for warmth and comfort and a sense of safety nestling closely feeling like we’re safely hidden from the rest of the world
(You) holding N down by his chest, overpowering him struggling to get away, pressing hard enough to subdue him but gentle enough not to hurt him, you’re just trying to help him
(You) watching N eat an entire chain of sausage links like they do in old cartoons,, lowering them into his mouth slowly, all while making continued eye contact and smiling.
>109462 >spoiler Ah yes, the fellow who kept the place fun and alive You're evidently not gone yet and it doesn't seem like you're providing much except "oh, you'll be sorry when I'm gone" so how about you leave and let us be the judge of whether you were any good rather than driving everyone else away first?
So I guess its settled, I might as well do what the other contentfags do and start posting off site. I really wanted to stay anonymous, my AO3 not counting, but I guess such is life if I wanted to keep making content about drones even though I don't want to expose people to my still terrible drawing skills. I'm considering going to Newgrounds because twitter and reddit are absolute hell.
>>109465 Yeah. For someone who's in so much pain and anguish day in, day out, he seems to have enough energy to drop by and be sassy about it. No one's gonna forget how he tried to prop his ass up and then wishing harm upon everyone and people close to them after. What a cocksucker.
Looks like some contentfags have indeed decided to go away. I won't try to change their minds, I'll just say thanks for all the content they created and showed us.
You guys are the reason I started learning to draw, and I will always remember those who got me started. Good luck to you.
>>109472 I'll still stay around here for as long as I can but I'll just in case create a Newgrounds if these threads truly die. I was also thinking about dropping by /v/'s drawthreads for some variety.
Good morning Friends! >>109271 Not the artist. >>109316 I try my best, positivity really helps the mind. >>109320 I'm glad to that. >>109329 Awww, thank you! Oh! Well thank you, I'll try my best. And don't talk like that, even when things are hard and to be honest one does not like it that much, one still must give it all, I'm sure you will succeed. >>109360 It's good art! >>109364 I mostly pick at random, and of course I have a bias towards V, but I don't have ill will against anyone's art. I mostly pick Canon character drawings, or Canon with OCs, if so happens that someone new finds this place, so he won't get too confused. But I was thinking maybe at some point use random OCs as the OP once in a while. >>109374 That's not true, I use *mostly* V, I have used other characters than V multiple times.
>>109475 I think it's time to rip the bandaid off and just embrace the fact that the threads care more about discussing OCs than canon at this point, anyone new is going to have to deal with that anyway. Just pick some good stuff the threads made for the OPs from now on as like a kitchen fridge thing. Encourage people to keep making things for the threads in any way possible. Ideally, a piece of really good OC made in a thread should be the next thread's OP pic. Yes, I'm aware I'm contributing to the overwhelming amount of OC discussion here in my next reply here. >>109478 Legitimately don't even remember where the inspiration for her baby form even came from. Current lore is that it vaguely resembles an infected drone core (3 limbs connected to a central being with a single eye). It's like a larval form of wings and a tail since Uzi's body tried making dupes of her own, Akita growing in her arms and legs next. Just a lil meatball with three limbs-in-progress when she was born.
so me and my platoon are going on a training mission up in the mountains next week, and we're bringing along one GD per man to "familiarize ourselves with our mechanical comrades." that's all well and good on its own, it's some of the specifics that have me wondering. apparently, each of us will be partnered up with one of the grunts to share a sleeping bag with. they tell us it's just because the buggers put off enough heat to keep us warm out here, but I think I smell HoDR meddling.
>>109485(me) Need to clarify since I just realized that I use OC as both Original Character and Original Content in this post. I think any piece of good art made for the threads should be featured as a thread OP regardless of if it features an original character or not.
>>109485 Cool, fair enough. Also, >a lil meatball is basically my sleeper agent activation phrase to think about IKEA >Colt is the DIY side of the IKEA, while Akita is stuck in the food court
>>109489 >Hello, I am a drone from Luxembourg! Isn't that part of Germany? >No, it's its own country actually! But it kinda looks like it might be attached to France... >No, we actually have a long history. You see, in- Oh, wait, you're BELGIAN! Like that Tintin guy! >Dammit, it's not even a microstate you troglodyte, we're a country! A COUNTRY!
>>109488 According to our information, HoDR decided to conduct series of experiments with GD drones, your platoon fell under the programme "interaction of military drones and human personnel in isolation from human society".
Anon, it is in the interest of humanity and you personally to disrupt the experiment. We'll try to contact you, but be on your guard, HoDR has clearly already started tracking every single person in your platoon.
>>109490 Honestly the OC content these and the old /Co/ Threads where making where the main reason I both joined and stayed here. every site can discuss the show and its many, MANY bits of info to death, but nowhere seems to have the same type of OC content for MD like these threads do.
Fuck the doom and gloom, as long as there's people here making OC content still (Me included), im not going anywhere.
Its gona take alot more then some drama to kill me.
>>109500 they're probably better (?) role models tbh (although now I'm imagining her occasionally staring off into the distance and whispering "maria" and absolutely confusing her parents)
>>109485 I know most Friends care more about OCs, but I still think Canon should be visible. I think I will put something with an OC and Canon, and slowly change it with time if that's the better option. I will see that later.
>>109503 Nah, I doubt it - Luxembourg is distinct Now Liechtenstein is a different story since it's basically a dual orbiter for Austria and Switzerland and has repeatedly claimed and then distanced from them (but they're also rich AF so who cares) Monaco is objectively the best option since it's got the casino James Bond goes to in that one film The Vatican is tiny, but on the other hand >Papal drones >Drones with big pointy pope hats >The last remnants of the Roman empire Makes up for a lot
>>109485 >I think it's time to rip the bandaid off and just embrace the fact that the threads care more about discussing OCs than canon at this point I mean, honestly, what is there to talk about canon anymore? We've already talked about to death every possible theory and analyzed everything. We're not getting more canon material unless Liam changes his mind and we'll just get shorts and shit. It was inevitable discussions were gonna switch to OCs.
>>108097 Probably gona get to work again today on this sentinel mech idea, but, in the meantime (just started a 9h workshift, so got time to ask shit) would there be any design choices made to this thing?
Given my current concepts, i can eather go industrial with it and just make it a brick shithouse, or i can also go incredibly sleek and something more akin to design choices much closer to their regular sentinel drone counterparts.
Both can work for different reasons, im just curious about what you guys want to see in a design like this.
Also intending to give the mechs themselves their own flavor of issues, and wierd quirks about them to make them a bit more interesting. (And wierd, these things are gona be wierd)
>Given my current concepts, i can eather go industrial with it and just make it a brick shithouse, or i can also go incredibly sleek and something more akin to design choices much closer to their regular sentinel drone counterparts. I'd personally prefer them to look more like regular sentinel drones. I like big drones. >just started a 9h workshift May the Emperor give you strength, working more than 8 hours is terrible.
>>109521 realistically, how would season 2 go? there are a few plot threads to go off of: >Uzi's loss of self >the solver remaining inside Uzi >Doll's ghost >J free from servitude >N killed Nori >Outpost 3 will be depopulated without a cure for Uzi and DDs' hunger
>>109522 I think spider drones are a neat concept ive yet to see executed good, so maybe >>109520 I can try my best to keep the shape|proportions similar to regular sd's just at a larger size, but some of the few design constraints i have is the torso needs enough room for a chair & pilot.
I think the solution ill try first is having the torso change shape slightly depending if the canopy is empty or not:
>slighty taller and more lean looking when no pilot is present.
>shoulders & hips change positions slightly to make room for pilot, makes the proportions slightly more mechlike.
>the big flat upper plate and lower 'tummy' plate both open forward, allowing entrace to the seat from the front.
>>109524 You forgot >doing something with all that $escaped_data spam filling up Uzi's HUD after she ate the Solver's singularity And judging from what we see from Nori and Uzi drinking motor oil from cans, the only "cure" needed is to clicker train V to stop carelessly murdering people.
>>109530 I don't doubt you anon, you can definitely draw from so that they retain both the look of sentinel drones and the place for the pilot inside.
By the way, you've got a good idea, anon: make it so that the space for the pilot is freed up by moving parts. This would make the giant drone more like a sentinel drone, and leave space for a human to fit inside.
>>109524 I'm not sure how you could do that without retreading old ground. >Doll's ghost Assuming she really it is her ghost and not just an end credits reference to episode 3. >N killed Nori That would be interesting to see. >Outpost 3 depopulation. Presumably scavenging runs could solve that problem. Presumably. If nothing else, a theoretical season 2 could be put toward answering more questions about the world.
>>109524 >In a ship flying in space after the events of episode nine >A drone is looking at a skype call with other drones >"Did you sense 'that'?" >another drone nods >"Of course 'we' sensed 'that." >"Cyn was always the weakest amongst 'us'. She was never the Void's Vessel," chimes the third drone >"I'll go to fix this" >"Are you sure? She was your sister" >"If she was my "sister" then she wouldn't have lost" >"Fair enough, just try not to lose yourself ok?" >"I won't lose" the drone then ends the skype call >"evil" is on the "move" >Tune in next time for Murder Drones Z: episode 1: El Hermano de Solver
>>109548 I just posted what her design in her credits appearance was originally gonna be before they changed it to something that's clearly her but not straight up her.
>Wake-up >Ton Of Drawfriends leaving This place isn't even terrible, we got our issues, but it's not that bad. Well great now I have the urge to leave the thread and for what? There's no other show or any type of group that's even remotely like this one! The fuck do I go?
>>109561 One of the things that pushed me to try drawing years ago was that people on 4chan have no reading comprehension and I have to actually illustrate my point some times.
>>109568 (me) I've reached a conclusion! I was wrong! In fact, the real culprit is simply our addictions to this place. As I've said I've been going here for a straight-up fucking year! I think it's starting to effect everyone mentally, I mean seriously why act like it's the end of the world when 2 two say that they're not as interested anymore? BIG FUCKING WOOP! It's their life who cares! The answer? These threads, these threads have wormed their way into our brains and are essentially controlling our emotions! The only way to beat this is to go cold turkey for a good while until the interest re-ignites the flame of creativity! I'll be trying this, and I mean trying, I hope to see you when the love returns.
>>109573 I just heard about it. The army has taken over the Parliament and wants to go to war with North Korea. Idk if the CIA is behind this or if the korean feminist cult is involved.
So what happens to the contentfags that are completely anonymous and don't have any outside presence from these threads? Do they just disappear into obscurity?
>>109339 I really like, you did an incredible job. Thank you so much for drawing her! It's also just such a great homage to BLAME!, which is one of my favourite inspirations.
Another question i wanna ask about this mech idea before i work on it again:
>Tail(?)
Currently dont have any ideas for anything special, could just give it a big version of the standard tail and leave it at that, but im sure theres better ideas.
>>109602 been having a little trouble writing. still trying to power through some smut and I might try an SD-D green if I can think of an interesting concept
>>109602 >want to write green >can't think up an interesting premise >eventually think up one >lose motivation to write it pretty much immediately haha im not doing well
I will be staying here as long my worms are getting fed of any ideas or rancid SHITPOST. There are comics and sets and sillies that must be drawn with time... My work is never done. remember this, anon.
Idea: any of the kids who died at Camp 98.7 without their cores being eaten (i.e. all of them except Darren and possibly Sam) coming back as one of those rare zombie drones who mutates and starts sprouting eldritch meat when their core boots back up. Like, I dunno, Braiden regenerates with a dragon head that he can use to projectile vomit some sort of pyrophoric liquid, or Rebecca grows wings and regenerates a lower body with big claw feet for potentially carrying niggas away, or some eldritch brambles shoot out of Emily's body and reattach her head to finish her regeneration as a Monster of Robo-God.
>>109643 >Rebecca grows wings and regenerates a lower body with big claw feet for potentially carrying niggas away You're not fooling anyone. You want footjobs.
>>109643 (cont.) Or, less spectacularly, that kid V killed to make everyone else shut up comes back pissed and ready to I Know What You Did Last Summer.
>>109617 Unironicly, out of all suggestions for things like a discord, tf2 server, or anything like that, SS13|14 might be the best option for something like that: >some wierd arcane launcher thats not attached to any other profiles/accounts >burners are easy to make and you can keep yourself as anonymous or not as you please >high ammount of modding/user content keeping the game alive >low/no rules, any server can make its own rules from anarchy to strict >seems fun ngl -anon who hasn't played the games but watches alot of content
>>109647 >>burners are easy to make and you can keep yourself as anonymous or not as you please Actually some SS13 servers, don't know if it's the same for SS14 cause I haven't played it, have job requirements tied to your account requiring you to have a certain set of play hours to play a job.
>>98078 >>97874 >>97948 >where is the fic posted? /works/59028133/ 'Upcoming chapter' somewhat implies that the fic is already in existence, which it is. I already posted a snippet of it at >>75765.
So there Alice, Yeva, and Nori are, having, by the looks of it, not that bad a time. Then again, it looks like an old photo, so maybe they were just the 'happy patients' the photoshoot required. Or maybe, having survived the war, then avoided succumbing to any of its lingering effects, they're just happy to be alive.
There will be some revisions to the drawing, and an actual background, but other than those the concept came out well.
>>109641 I thank writefags because I read basically everything Which means I remember everything Which means I know when some stories aren't completed 👀
Going cold-turkey has been difficult so far, I can't help, but peak and "secretly" post every 5-10 minutes. But, for the sake of these threads I must remain strong, and if anyone else out there is attempts with me, we can get through this, we must and will.
>>109678 >Yes, I can get off Murder Drones any time! >I've actually quit five times today! >And I might just quit a sixth! >Unless I get the shakes again! Then I'll come back!
>>109679 >>109681 FUCK! I can feel the Cyn monkey on my back, forcing me back to these threads. I can do this, I swear I won't be responding or posting again for a whole week!
>>109689 And then after that we have February (which doesn't get a special name), /md/ March, Aliceposting April, Murder Drones May, Jobber June, JCJuly, Autism August, Solver September, Spooky Month, and we're back to Nonstop N November
>>109699 Nobody has left, if you read what Phoenix wrote he never said he’s leaving he said he disengaged with the threads because he can’t work on his content at the efficiency he wishes if he does otherwise and he thinks he’s lost control of his narrative as a result. if he works then he posts and when he posts and can’t work we get no posts Yanon hasn’t left either, he never stays gone due to autism
Holly was in my dream last night. It was just one part of it, but there were a few soldiers including me and a few scientists including Holly. She grabbed my hand and put it in a contraption that pricked my skin and took a blood sample, and that was it.
>>109703 i can definitely understand phoenixanons disappointment over the direction sentinel drones have gone. if i created a huge amount of lore and story for a setting and had it get popular, only to realize that everyone just discards the lore and only cares about the aesthetic, i would be pretty disappointed too
>>109703 I never said i was leaving, just that i've lot a ton of interest, i still roam around here. Also i've been more interesting in learning human anatomy so i dont have alot to drones to post. You'll just have to settle with more human!Y for now lmao
>>109643 Damn I just realized Darren was the first squatter in Uzi's mind 'palace' why are we calling that a palace again? Underpass would be more fitting
>>109708 >post on thread where anons constantly mix and remix ideas and cross over with other people’s ideas >make a bunch of cool shit people like >put stipulations in the lore of said cool shit that renders it incompatible with other people’s ideas >people ignore your gay “rules” about how your part of the shared setting works (yes it’s shared, no, you don’t get to opt out) and post about sentinel drones in their own way >“w-why are anons taking the cool parts of my work without also taking the weird vindictive caveats I baked into the worldbuilding??? I just can’t make sense of it!”
>>109524 >>Uzi's loss of self Oh, she wishes there was a danger of losing herself in what she's become. But there isn't. Insect politics is here, and its existence is just as brutal and compassionless and uncompromising as its absence. There's no retirement for insect politicians like Uzi.

>>109718 Wonder what the other cheerleaders got up to in Doll's, before it was absorbed by the Solver's and the Solver's was in turn absorbed by Uzi's.
>>109708 >>109719 maybe I'm misremembering, but hasn't Phoenix said multiple times that he doesn't really mind the spinoffs of SDs? you sure you're not thinking of a different someone who contributed magnitudes less?
>M never confesses her feelings to Anon >He gets swooped up by some random IRS drone Very sad, not a super happy ending but I guess it's the one we've got
>>109723 >>109726 don’t get me wrong, phoenixanon is of the best draw/writefags in the thread, but he has this thing where it’s like he feels the need to “balance the books” >SDs are taller, faster and stronger than DDs and have cooler more powerful weapons than them yay >b-but also they can’t have personalities, and there’s only like 100 ACTUAL SDs, the majority of them are just HECU worker drones, also if they go for a walk around the block without a mid-walk nap they go “AIIEEE I’M TURNING RED DR HOLLY HELP ME!!!!!” and then tear their own heads off or something boo
this wouldn’t bother me if he didn’t also do the “hmmm I’m just being accurate to the source material” thing sometimes when questioned about his creative decisions, as if Liam Vickers wouldn’t have forgotten about all of the SDs weaknesses by ep 3 if he had come up with the idea
I don’t know, I don’t have any hate for him or anyone else, I just get the sense that he has the kind of autism that can quickly go from “I have explained everything so well that people can pour over it and enjoy its intricacies” to “I have explained so thoroughly that no space exists for interpretation or flexibility when trying to add to this that doesn’t brake a pre-established rule”
I’m just thinking out loud, everyone has their own creative quirks, it’s nothing to lose sleep over
>>109735 I do think that these threads are more fun with looser rules, like "here's a setting, these are what exist, and these are the factions relations to each other" is enough. Sentinels not having a personality essentially makes them impossible to be oc's, while making any that do have personalities too "special." A great setting for a self contained story but a bad setting for anyone that wants to do content in that universe.
All that aside I do think we need to come up with a /md/ thread universe we can all agree is the current one stories are set in. Maybe something on a non earth planet with an ongoing war, red zones, and green zones with civilian lives.
>>109747 😔👎 I took a peek in your head and I can see you're actually lying, like, a super big lie You're actually thinking about the Zimbabwe financial crisis, not hmofd greens
>>109754 We can do some mix of planets under siege, peaceful planets, and frontier planets in some system we label. Copper-9 was in the third branch from Earth so we can call it like, Branch-2 or something.
>>109742 I like this idea I don’t think people will ever fully agree on sticking to one contiguous setting, having a repository of concepts that anyone can draw from at their leisure is probably the best bet for achieving this surreptitiously, like a big collaborative lore book with maps and diagrams of vehicles and guns that anyone can add to
>While defending a city block from Solver incursion a sentinel with no renown comes across a statue in the ruins of a museum. >It depicts a man, Pygmalion, fawning over his creation. >A lifeless husk of stone that he falls in love with. >A puppet given life and love. >The sentinel considers that, and, performing calculations weighted with severe internal errors, decides this statue too must be protected. >Which is why we now have a necoclassical sculpture in the military base.
>>109759 >Achievement: Put A Ring on It! - Successfully complete a romance route. >With Mini Y, this is quite literally putting a wedding ring on her, either as a little crown or a waistband
>>109758 adventure module: defend the statue from Vashtorr, he CANNOT be allowed to take it, it contains too much latent archetypal energy, it would be the end of all of us
>>109749 >M Some new threads. Likely a white dress shirt with suspenders, fingerless gloves, some navy pants and of course a couple maglock-fitted steelcap boots. May also not object to snagging a plushie or two in secret. >S A new personality and behavioural matrix. She can finally jump about on the low gravity surface of the moon that's watched over her for so long. >Alas, she couldn't get a new power regulator in time. >>109751 Wrong again. I was thinking about Psychonauts.
>>109749 >CH To be with Friends, have some good time with them. But also a new hat would be nice, the one she is using it is a bit of low quality and maybe soon will start to look like it's breaking apart >LL To be left alone in Christmas. And a bottle of whiskey.
>>109764 And not forgetting... >Zeta New deuteranium kitchen knives and a herbology guide. Both will be put to good use when he gets time off (aka when his handler approves it) >Xi A fencing set that may or may not be used during the summer and to show off yet another reference. He's happy with it though if it's something he can lord over everyone else.
speaking of Sentinel Drones, I'm surprised there's not just a generic human-allied DD-knockoff drone type. basically just SDs without the special weapons and blue color scheme.
>>109749 For everyone to see, with their own eyes, what is jerking around the corpse of Uzi Doorman. And a lot-a real lot-of bugs to eat. If she wants to destroy this monster she needs to eat more lives to gain enough power to. Would probably also give her enough power-or near enough-to rez her friends.
>>109769 >If she wants to destroy this monster she needs to eat more lives to gain enough power to. Negev... you've become the very thing you sought to destroy
>>109774 How about we tear the cores out of DD's and hook them up to WD cores. But the WD's still need their old bodies so it just ends up with zombie puppet DD's giving WD's a piggy back ride into battle.
>>109755 Threadlore setting idea: what if the stars on the federation flag don’t just represent systems, but rather the stars just represent the capital system of a galactic sphere (note that this is just federation space, this doesn’t account for breakaway civilisations, free ports, private colonies, etc)
>>109749 Byakuya figurine, because she found every single Ichigo figure she could, so now is time for the 13 Captains. >>109792 Why did the thread decide Uzi and family would be super racist against humans when they had no interaction with humans? Is it just a holdover from the JC Jenson made DD's?
>>109792 What she needs is a correction >on why she just a big dumb dumb on praying to the wrong god instead of praying to cyn our true lord and savior
So in an AU where Colt and subsequently Akita were born after Mac and Beretta (and Negev after newborn babby Beretta hacked up the worm "seed" of Negev's core's organic components), how would little Akita feel about her big sisters going through eldritch meat puberty and becoming flesh creatures in drone skin?
>>109797 She's suspicious of Tessa but that seemed more out of jealousy she was close to N and later because Tessa was clearly scheming to get rid of her.
>>109799 >Uzi and N kept getting it on and had 5 children (4 intentionally) This rectifies the one thing that always irked me about the original Beretta threadlore - the idea that they hadn't somehow had a mess of kids Because let's be honest, there's no way they wouldn't have more than 1
>>109799 I think you first need to craft together a thread canon version of Akita's backstory to explain why her sisters were placed in drone bodies and she wasn't. It's the one glaring issue of fitting her into this lore.
>>109809 nta but that raises the question >why her sisters were placed in drone bodies and she wasn't if Akita was placed into a drone shell when she was just a blob would she have just… grown into it?
>>109812 Not really, unless you play sentinels like unfeeling uncaring harbingers of death, like DD's were supposed to be, and even then there's no much point to them other than a plot hook. As interesting as a rock falling towards you.
>>109817 SS13 would be fun but it would require some, at least minor, modding, and I doubt anyone here is familiar enough with the ancient fucking engine to do so. Though I feel like someone could use the goonstation code as a base and just change the cyborg pixel art to be more drone-like and that would be plenty.
>>109819 I don't think that was ever the plan. Feels like there were going to be more DD characters before Liam got cold feet about doing multiple seasons.
>>109485 >I think it's time to rip the bandaid off and just embrace the fact that the threads care more about discussing OCs than canon at this point Dont care, I will die before Jane is the OP

>>109822 I was thinking more like dressing up in the whole shebang, with the godawful attempts at covering every inch of her exposed arms and legs with what's functionally hacked together armor/plating to resemble a drone's
>>109823 I mean he threw a line that suggested the N, V, J crew were special in that they had personalities. I do feel like J came back because Liam couldn't be assed to make more DD's though.
>>109826 come back anon back to us back to /her/ you’ll never escape this place, /she/ made it just for (you) that itch, it’s /her/ love, writhing under your skin
>>109811 I actually have a thing in mind for my fic later on about this It's possible for Akita for wear a drone body, it's just not a long-term thing because her organic nature has needs of its own that being encased in robot parts cannot satisfy. It's part of the reason why I did the bath comic >>109822 I was about to post this myself until I saw the filesize was much larger than Plus is allowing me to post rn
>>109839 I genuinely refuse to get on roblox and believe anyone over 25 should do the same as you're invading kids spaces, but if enough of you like it go for it.
>>109840 So how do Akita and the Vizzy kids hold up to sunlight, considering how consistently sunlight does bad things to Solver critters? Would it be a spoiler to say?
>>109816 I find them a lot more interesting as extensions of a monstrous scientist's will at the End Times of Humanity than a community of goobers living mundane lives inbetween massacring entire mobs of the things that are supposed to be driving humanity extinct.
>Colt and Akita grow up knowing they had another sister >their older siblings say she went crazy and had to be locked up >their parents say they'll explain more when they're older but Mac and Beretta's explanation is both oversimplified and mean-spirited
>>109845 I keep forgetting to address sunlight specifically when I have opportunities to in the fic The Solver as an entity being destroyed means that the very best and the very worst traits of infection no longer work on infected drones. The one con (I think?) removed was the sunlight weakness. The kids and the parents may enter the sun now at the cost of having weaksauce Solver abilities if they still even have them
>Abandoned OC Ideas: Sinclair The Solver Warlock/Cardinal. A Drone that was once the assistant to the Pope, before eventually ending up in a landfill on the otherside of the galaxy, however instead of meeting his end he re-awakened and crawled his way out of Hell, as a Zombie Drone and now Solver Host. When he died he saw the face of what he assumed to be God, causing him to devote his life to The Solver, he takes residence in one of the mysterious Chapel's that were constructed long before humanity came along. He now devotes his life to spreading The Solver's name and his cult to every Drone he can find, mostly through manipulation, dark rituals, and murder
>>109854 The idea that there are a bunch of ancient churches built with human sensibilities just standing around and Liam didn’t just buy something off the unity store as a cool backdrop is funny to me.
>>109860 >SD-O This one was more bold than the others, where it was mostly a drawfriend drawing her killing E and another which doesn't ring a bell >T.A.M.M.F.K He was surprisingly more light-hearted, he never really killed an OC although there was a few DDs he killed in greentext that were obviously inspired by some. The closest he got was attempting to kill Y by way of deep-fryer, but it was comedic >Switch Basically T.A.M.M.F.K but without the light-hearted nature, alot of Y torture and I believe murder
>your OC has just crashed on the distant planet of Order-1, where outer gods meddle and creatures most horrible roam the crumbling land what do they do?
>>109875 Probably because >Fairly recognizable >Brought up relatively frequently >Characterized as somewhat incompetent Perfect storm of things, really
>>109846 You may find them interesting as an idea, as a story, that's a shit field to work with. Characters with no personality committing heinous acts for characters with no connection to them. It's not really a story at that point. There's nothing happening other than fighting. No tension other than fighting. When you don't give a fuck about the outcome of the fight you don't even have that.
>>109879 nta, but you can actually write SD's very similar to the main DD trio. Y'know, the whole thing where Cyn only let N and co keep their personalities. Do the same thing for the sentinels, where due to plot circumstances the main character/OC is unique. It just requires a bit of creative writing. See picrelated, something Phoenix posted when he was being questioned with almost the exact same conversation that you and the other guy are having.
Sentinel Drone universe where Earth's military finds a way to sever DDs from the Solver's influence and attempts to reform them to work alongside human allies and supplement existing drone forces
>>109883 Yeah but the problem is that you're already starting the oc off as being "super special". And when every sentinel with a personality has a death timer on them for every OC that becomes a repetitive source of drama. Not knocking Phoenix, I'm a fan, just saying there's a reason the thread went away from that.
>Abandoned OC Ideas: JC (Not J x N Child) a specially modified Drone originally intended to entertain children, but now works as a late night talk-show host for a JCJENSON owned program, a controversial figure in the way of Drone rights due to his celebrity status; Unknowst to him he's the 13th copy as all his previous ones where destroyed when he tried to escape the studio. Then there's his sister Marie an Uzi-like character that hates him due to being a copy of her original brother. Eventually JC would encounter 'Green' a strange hyper-intelligent virus that's able to control any kind of machinery, he eventually possesses and takes control of a DD to puppeteer as a host; Green would be both an antagonist and ally to JC, serving as a Bill Cipher type character. Lastly there was Mr. Hansen, a Drone rights advocate and ex-JCJenson executive who would attempt to prove that Drones were just as sapient as human beings and thus deserving of rights, unfortunately he'd meet his end at the end of JCJENSON's newest human-like model Mr. Guy.
>The story would've progressed with JC accidentally inciting and joining a Drone rebellion, with a liquid snake moment of him fighting and killing one of his other copies that attempted to betray the group, the story would end with Uzi finally arriving on Earth.
>>109884 There was a lot of tension in Terminator 1's intro where the machines without personality are butchering everyone they find. So much that the tension of the rest of the franchise comes from the possibility that it might come true. And if the stormtroopers in the Star Wars OT weren't incompetent they would count too. You can have a lot of tension with faceless, seemingly mindless, killing machines if you are a good storyteller. You can even have moments of personality shine through, like with the golden robot in the robot uprising episode of Once Upon A Time Space. You just want your Sentinel ocs so you can have basically townie stories with them.
>>109874 Not Grunts, more like tank-inspired variants of sentinels and disassembly drones. I don't have any art of them, and haven't really developed them further since that post on /trash/.
>>109890 Problem isn't having tension for one story like I said. It's having tension for 20 stories, many of which are written by amateurs or worse for fun. Faceless emotionless killer robots don't lend to easy subject matter to build stories around. Or at least they don't have a lot of variety.
>>109888 (me) Honestly I'm rather glad I never went through with this idea, but I feel like this could be an interesting AU to explore for other writefriends
>>109885 Assuming that there are still at least a few humans still alive, I'd imagine that something vaguely similar to this could actually happen in the Post-Canon setting
>>109886 It's pretty much a given that the main character is going to either be unique in some way, or be in a unique set of circumstances. That's just how stories work. >just saying there's a reason the thread went away from that. The reason is that people just wanted another comfy office AU.
>>109899 Main characters should be special but not everyone wants to write about a super special oc. And super special oc's with a one in a million ability to get a personality suddenly meeting several other one in a million oc's and interacting with them feels kinda stupid. It's a bad setup for people to make characters with.
>>109890 >And if the stormtroopers in the Star Wars OT weren't incompetent they would count too. There was the Order 66 montage in RotS. Blows all of Filoni's literal children's cartoon shit the fuck out of the water. Star Wars - Order 66 - HD 1080p >It will be done, my lord.
>It's been one year since you were sent to Copper 9. >J and V are settling in nicely. From what you can tell, they also kept their memories, but they think you still don't have yours. >You do. You remember the manor. You remember who you are---what you were made to do. >So do they. >J at least leaves you alone. V does too at first, only, you realize that things really started changing only a week ago. >Once the one year mark was hit, V. . . initiated conversation with you. It was short-lived. You had. . . errands---killing really. >Your greatest fear had always been being forgotten and ignored by others, and now, pushing off V like that before she could even tell you the question she had on her mind hurt more than getting pricked with your own nanite-laced tail. >It's a phantom pain that follows you now. No, it's an ache, but it's compounded with all the other aches you have from your time on Earth and the countless other systems the trio you're leading wiped out. >You turn in for the night. Today has been a good day of hunting and recollection. You walk to your own little cove in the corpse spire, flex your wings, and prepare to leap onto the ceiling and stick there for the night. >"Forgetting something?" V's voice calls out from behind you. >You turn around and meet her gaze. >"Never."
Part 1/?
Wanted to try out this AU where N actually remembers everything and never had his memories reset by Cyn. Curious to know what you guys think of the concept.
>Be me >Find out that "Anon" is a legitimate surname >Legally change my last name to Anon >Get married >Have dozens of kids (all boys) >Raise them to carry on the family name >Die in peace knowing that I'll likely still have living descendants by the time 3071 comes around
>>109906 It's not a "One in a million ability" for a sentinel to have K's persona start to resurface. It's actually extremely common, it's just that the frequent mind wipes prevent it from going anywhere. >And super special oc's with a one in a million ability to get a personality suddenly meeting several other one in a million oc's and interacting with them feels kinda stupid. This could actually work in the setting with a bit of creative writing. There was a Star Trek episode once that dealt with this, where people assimilated by the borg would regain their individuality during the borg equivalent of sleep, and so they constructed what was essentially a virtual world that they can access while sleeping, allowing them to be free for a couple hours every day. A similar version of that would be a group of SD's who have regained bits of their personalities and have formed a small hidden community. Or something along those lines.
>>109910 The initial feel of the storm troopers was that you had this malign and intimidating dude surrounded by dangerous, loyal and indistinguishable killing machines. They were the white cells of a vast, oppressive body and Darth Vader's purpose was to give it a sort of face. To me the Vader/stormtroopers dynamic sounds perfect for Holly and the Sentinel Drones.
>>109916 Yes but it requires a lot of writerly excuses as to why a character that, by all means, should not function as a normal character gets to function as a normal character. And for every person making a sentinel OC to also come up with one of these reasons, and agree on canons of how such a thing works.
Instead of just throwing out the idea that sentinels can't have personalities since that's what everyone's writing around. Do you see what I'm saying? It's an obstacle to creating a character that adds nothing to the stories most people are trying to tell since they don't want to retread old territory and drama that's already been explored.
i vil vanish for a few days i am writing an artistic research document, my autism has been breached and must write documents with actual academic purpose for no fucking reason than document a shitty comic
>>109918 Yeah, I see what you mean. But in that case I have to agree with what Phoenix said (picrelated), why even make them a sentinel drone if you're going to rewrite all of their core elements into something completely different, why not just make something new?
My pov is that we have a lot of young people here who have read too few books and have watched too many anime. A protagonist is someone who is the focus of the narration. He doesn't have to be the focus of the setting. He can be someone through whose eyes we see greater powers clashing and shaping the world. Hell, this kind of narration would put an emphasis on how small and powerless the common folk like the reader are in the face of such awesome powers. And even if the protagonist is literally the most important and powerful character in the setting, there are ways to write him so that he doesn't come off as a power fantasy.
>>109923 They technically did, as Sentinels are just sentinels in name. You can complain that the thread co-opted the name and design but that's about all they took.
>>109929 Honestly I never really read up on the Sentinel lore other than “They were refashioned DDs who were cloned from a single DD named K and Holly commanded them.
>>109924 I wanted to make the Sentinel Drones less op by introducing an even more powerful type of Murder Drone but then I thought that the next teen moron who wants to make the strongest oc evar would make an even more op oc and we'd end up in a pointless cock swordfighting contest over who can make the most retarded, lore-breaking drone that could 1v1 the whole of existence including the powers it is a servant of.
I just saw Liam Vickers get carried off by what looked like a horrific mass of tentacles with wings. Looks like season 2 is going to be indefinitely delayed
Honestly, a lore accurate version of the sentinel base AU could have some kino stories. Like for example Harper having a kid. Her having to essentially raise her daughter in complete secret so that they both aren't terminated is just one thing, but you could also explore what the actual child of a sentinel drone would turn out like. Would they be a turbo schizo? Would they inherit all the oppressive mental inhibitors that are installed in them? Would they also inherit K? There's a lot of potential there.
>>109939 I agree but it takes a skill level I don't think a lot of Anons here have the chops for. Not a knock on Anons, just saying it's more complicated than most greens and requires familiarity with the setting and rules.
>>109937 My skills are too subpar but I've been meaning to draw a short comic where a thin line of doomed defenders make a desperate stand outside a starport to give their children enough time to evacuate while they are being attacked by the borg/stroggfied remains of people they knew. And then plaster a big drawing of Jane and B having explicit dyke sex and saying stuff like "Fist me harder!"
>Fun Evening OC Facts: Much like Nori's just naturally wired to want to scurry around like a little critter and that's how she stayed somewhat sane in the face of somethingteen years of the profound body horror of being reduced to a headcrab, Negev's just naturally wired to want to stand in the Vickers girl pose.
>maximize scale, just add two zeros to a number (instead of 10s of human planets there are 1000s, instead of 100s of v3 sentinel drones, 10,000s) >Caliburn is much smaller organization than jcJ(is) but is still fairly large in its own right, but the most important and talented individuals are at the highest echelon of the org, they compose RT4 >project safeguard is split into 2 distinct subdivisions, Safeguard primius & Safeguard secundius >RT4 enjoys near total freedom to undertake Safeguard primius , they create the V3 sentinel drones, the intoners and the worker sentinels, all of this is lead directly by Caliburn’s leader Dr. Eliza Holly >Caliburn’s majority is selected from the best and brightest jcJ(is) has to offer, they handle Safeguard secundius, which specializes in retrofitting worker drones with sufficient Solver resistance values into worker sentinels, despite jcJ(is)’s technical ownership of Caliburn, it’s evident to anyone with a brain that Dr. Holly is going to do what she wants despite anyone’s best efforts to the contrary, and so the management is happy to let her silo herself with all their best equipment, personal and a large chunk of their money and quietly use the rest of Caliburn to do sentinel drones “their way” >the organization of Safeguard secundius is much more lax, not having nearly as much oversight or resources as RT4, but the project makes up for this with its spirit of camaraderie and tremendous heart (which some might say is the real key to stopping the Solver for good) >the two subdivisions often butt heads, though not much comes in the way of direct conflict due to a combination of every bit of spare energy being needing for the war effort, jcJ(is) protecting lower Caliburn from reprisal and Dr. Holly being far more focused on her work and the work of her direct subordinates to worry about the inconsequential insubordinations of the personal downstairs thoughts?
>>109956 Writefags are gonna write what they feel like Anon. If you don't like that, make a setting that gets their attention and sparks imagination. A lot of writefags just kinda go with the momentum of the thread.
>>109953 I like the setup but I think it needs to be a bit more organized and dictate some template "planets" for settings for it to be useful in the thread. Like what was mentioned earlier, primius planets are the more grimdark human civilizations where drones are literal disposable slaves but it's peaceful. While Secundus are the more dangerous planets under attack, but have much better human/drone relations?
>>109960 In a show about massacres, extinction, no moral justice and an inescapable curse that strips you of you humanity/dronity and drives you to devour those around you while the singularity is consuming everything you love?
>>109889 We considering rhe CFL drones hags? What age is one a hag, Alice and even Nori don't have haggy vibes to me Maybe we have different ideas of hags
>>109965 Barring Cyn they're the oldest drones in the show, so therefore they are hags. Except the DD's I guess but they're immortal vampires so that may cancel it out.
>>109962 This >>109963 Also the immortal dog planet And the memes on the walls in the top secret science facility And the fact that the head scientists was wearing a fucking Mitre and doing experiments in an underground cathedral… presumably because it was a funny bit?
I think we may have collectively flanderized how dark this setting is a little bit
>>109950 >And then plaster a big drawing of Jane and B having explicit dyke sex and saying stuff like "Fist me harder!" Is this really still all people see the Bane story as?
>>109975 Murder Drones entire vibe is - >This is a professionally animated and produced show that has writing like a deviantart oc's story. >Including random addendums like the dog planet because someone in the comments mentioned that all the dogs must have died along with humans because of Cyn. It's all very tongue in cheek.
>>109969 Does anyone have any screencaps of the psychology class in episode 2 where the slides were telling the classroom full of teenagers that all of their neurotic hangups about themselves are completely accurate?
That video of Partick Stuart shooting plush doggo N was funny. Does anyone have it? The one where he goes "You mother fuckers are gonna kill all my lellehs!"
>>109977 I feel that whenever Jane appears (and she appears often), she makes the Solver War into an irrelevant backdrop for whatever interpersonal crap she is busying herself with.
>>109987 Well, they're Jane stories, so they're about Jane. If you don't focus on interpersonal crap, Solver War stories are just an endless list of casualties and retreats.
>>109987 Thats because the most interesting thing in Sci Fi is the interpersonal crap, most of Murder Drones is interpersonal relationships, drama is interesting.
Image:173327572723.png(258kB, 440x343)what the hell are you talking about.png
>>109987 There are a lot of things one can say about Jane, but claiming that the Solver War is an irrelevant backdrop to her character isn't one of them
>>109993 Pretty sure what he is saying isnt that the Solver War is irrelevant to Jane, but that the ongoing conflict isnt as important as how Jane feels about it and the relationships she has during it.
>>109992 >Thats because the most interesting thing in Sci Fi is the interpersonal crap No it fucking isn't, you absolute Tomino fan. The most interesting characteristic of scifi is the technology and it's applications.
>>109997 Wrong, the most interesting thing about sci fi is how the technology and its applications affect and change the dynamics of characters and the philosophy of how such changes could affect and recontextualize our society.
I mean this in the nicest way possible, if you have a problem or idea for something, start writing yourself! That's what I did many many threads ago and how I became a writefag, just don't be...dumb with it. >>109999 Yep. Nice style btw
>>109997 No the primary characteristic of good sci-fi is the sense of endless adventure and possibilities in the final frontier, the feeling that you could jump past the speed of light and end up on any number of incredible adventures
>Fun Evening thread Facts: If they were paid minimum wage to post in these threads, /md/ would have enough money at this point to fund actual research into making drones a reality. If we instead put the amount of effort we do in being here into robotics research ourselves, we could have a working prototype by 2029.
What if you simply wrote a solver war green from the perspective of someone OTHER then a soldier with main character armor / packaging Maybe one of the Grunts alongside an OC and we get to see them from a whole new light theres a green idea free of charge
>>110018 Anon listen to me. You may be abandoned by your friends, your country, hope or God. But not anger. Anger will be with you forever and see you through the hardships until your final fight. I came here even though I hate it to feed my anger. You aren't angry enough.
>>110020 What about a story from the perspective of a B.O.X.O unit that pinned under industrial machinery at a work site on earth and watched the entire Solver war play out in front of his eye as a passive observer, watching as day and night bled into one and other until the sky shattered, piles of corpses stacking higher along the half build thoroughfare he never got to finish
>>110021 >contribute to season 2 (by /md/) >we sell plushies (only of non drone characters for copyright) >(you) get a cut of the money proportional to your contributions It’s a perfect system
>Nightly Solver War Fun Facts: It's a common misconception that the flesh abominations birthed by the Solver are controlled by her. They are in fact, simply amalgamations of flesh and nerves haphazardly thrown together by whatever traps or anomalies the Solver creates. Most act as beasts, looking only to feed or protect themselves as is natural. Some, however, spawn with anomalous personalities. Such as handy, a creature made of hands that enjoys patting things.
>>109356 My job has me transferring every few years so I get how you feel. As hollow as it may sound, however, you'll be alright. There's a lot of people in the world, and not all of them are shitheads.

>>110031 I liked the one in a Jane green that was a regular human shivering in a human until it turned into a half wolf amalgamation upon contact, like a living mine.
Shit's so comfy when dramaniggers aren't around. We can talk shit or criticize this and that without it erupting into three-way cum. We criticized Sentinel Drones, we criticized Jane. And now that I jinxed it, goodnight guys. I will drag you through hell tomorrow :^)
>>110043 I feel like discussion has been pretty calm and rational but if only to make things comfy Name things you like about Solver War Jane or the Greens associated with them NOW
>>110052 I am not who you think I am. I will write them, one day, and I will post them when they're the absolute least relevant thing I could have posted to the thread.
>>109857 Honestly i would love to see that as an actual plotpoint to an OC’s backstory. The idea of those underground churches being not just on copper-9 but on all the other exo-planets would be a hell of a lot interesting. Could possibly dive deeper in a more cosmic horror way when you question in all these ancient churches that really reminiscent to how humans make it are even underground in the first place.

Marcy's™ Mega-Mall Security Log of Officer: C. ANON Date: ██/03/3002
INCIDENT REPORT
[09:56] Arrived at Post [10:01] Cleaned up security post. Again When I catch whoever is wiping boogers under the desk, consider your ASSGRASS [12:24] Fight at Food Court Several witnesses claim that the altercation started when a small group of highschoolers (3 Male, 1 Female) made comments towards an unrelated couple (1 Male, 1 Female). Situation escalated from verbal to physical, resulting in the damage of at least three chairs and one table. All parties involved had dispersed by the time Security arrived on scene. CCTV footage archived and currently pending a transfer to local police [13:37] Attempted Theft at Seven-Eleven A duo of unidentified delinquents (both presumed Male) attempted to snatch one of the Domestic Drones while it was operating as a door greeter. After alerting Security the acting store manager triggered the Domestic Drone's anti-theft harness, successfully neutralizing it before the culprits could make it more than 100m from the scene. Neutralized drone was subsequently abandoned mid-chase by the culprits who, despite the swift response of Security, managed to escape the premises through the North Entrance. NOTES: This marks the second attempted drone theft in just as many days. These creeps are getting bold. Glad those new GreyGreen machine harnesses came in when they did, they're MUCH more tamper proof than that JcJ crap they came with! [16:45] Out to Lunch [17:30] Back from Lunch [18:06] Disturbance at South Plaza Several witnesses reported that an individual (Elderly Female) caused a commotion when she dived into the big fountain by the entrance. Security arrived and successfully retrieved the individual out of the water. Upon brief interrogation she claimed to have been pushed in, although CCTV footage corroborates witness statements. The individual then attempted to hastily leave the premise and refused any attempts at further assistance. Further investigation of CCTV footage appears to show the individual pocketing handfuls of coins into her pocket whilst in the fountain. [19:42] Disturbance at Charlie's Plumping While closing down for the night employees noticed that at some point earlier in the day someone had defecated in one of their display toilets. Store owner has requested that Security review any CCTV footage that might narrow down any "suspicious" individuals between the time they opened (8:00) and closed (19:30). NOTES: Night crew can handle this bullshit [21:03] Closing Perimeter Sweep Graffiti at East Parking remains uncleaned, filing another ticket with Janitorial. Technical difficulties when attempting to close South Plaza Security Gate S-2; Weather & wearing of tracks is making it increasingly difficult to securely close. Dispersed loiterers at East Entrance without incident. [21:45] Left Post
>>110078 >Swanson murders Slippin' Jimmy's ass >mercy kills Curly >switches on all the drones, tells them the Tulpar and Wake Rock are all theirs now >breaks open the foam >a few days before the power on the cryopod would have given out if anyone had used it, a salvage crew looking for the Tulpar finds Wake Rock to be the home of a thriving drone civilization
>>110091 First rule of anything - always read the paperwork. You basically bent over and spread your cheeks to get screwed. Go read it now and make sure you aren't completely fucked. If it's something contractual, remember: intoxication IS a defense in some districts. You'll be mocked for it, but you can typically break a contract if you can prove you were drunk enough. Your drone might not realize it, but she has an onboard camera that records interactions - you can access the files surreptitiously and see if you can find video evidence of your drunkenness.
>>110079 Not a bad idea to be explored >We know in Solver War there are mutants >You can be infected with the Solver virus or whatever >Jane kills Civvies basically without mercy due to this and her general angst >B meanwhile goes out of her way to help people despite risk >One time, ONCE Jane tries to act like B with a Civvie and genuinely help them instead of execution >Infected, starts the early stages of Mutation into something horrible >This is when Cyn comes in with a deal, Her mutation will stop and she wont be a danger to anyone *wink* if she agrees to do Cyn a wee tiny little favor >Jane accepts >Not only is this favor NOT little, her Mutation isnt really stopped just on paper, Jane is still 99.8% human >Silly Cyn wins again
>>110095 Don't worry, John A friend back on Earth is pouring one out for you If Sonic.exe was real?!?😱😱I'd never own clean pants again😭😭it'd be very fucked up and scary!!!1!
Fun Grunt Drone Fact: >there is one recorded instance of a grunt terminating a hostile via "improvised low-altitude kinetic bombardment" as listed in reports >this occurred when an improperly secured grunt fell from a troop carrier aircraft and landed directly on top of a disassembly drone, crushing its vital components near-instantly and compressing its height to a mere 6.3 in. >the GD was mostly unharmed and went on to rendezvous with its platoon at the intended LZ, but complained of a sore lower chassis afterwards.
>>110101(me) those are meant to make the round lines easier, have positions of edges/important points and then make the line right in shape by just drawing a curve between these idk tho
>>110113 >John's not used to his smell like he should be, he always smells his own faint aroma of street tacos >GOD, he wants street tacos >If he didn't hate the Solver's guts, he'd sell this whole damn outpost out for a plate
>>110124 >One day, a random roving taco truck stops by the outpost >The proprietor, a drone wearing a poncho and sombrero, inspires no confidence, but John decides that he needs to see the travesty that a drone's take on tacos is >Greasy, entirely too heavily spiced, meant to be dunked into a container of bright-red salsa that threatens to annihilate his tastebuds permanently... >They're perfect in every way. >John returns to the outpost, a genuine expression of contentment on his face, for the first time in years he looks human, and happy to be alive >Jane's scared and retreats to the vents, convinced that the world's ending (again [again]) if John is this happy
>>110118 Would Jane stop overheating if she drank blood (or a blood equivalent, e.g. oil) like any other Solver critter, or is she overheating because her still-human skin doesn't provide complete protection from sunlight?
>>110128 >John is willing to converse with a drone for a chance to buy tacos >Tacos are John's equivalent of Scooby Snacks - he'll do anything for them Kek but who on Copper-9 would be greedy or desperate enough to start a food truck selling tacos on a planet where the only reasonable business would be John?
>>110131 One drone, the kitchen assistant for that taco truck, found himself inheriting it after core collapse. Drones are stupid, they don't understand the craftsmanship that goes into making tacos. They just comment on "mouthfeel" and "wow, my insides feel like arghblh-". But his job must be done, he knows it has to. As his boss always said, "tacos make the world go 'round". No tacos, no world. He only ever dared to put that slogan to the test once, and the planet started to explode when he did, so he's learned his lesson.
>>110143 >>110140 >Alice cries for several minutes in the closet after imagining a deer with no eyes. >She makes you go to the vet to ask about how to help a no eyed deer.
>>110146 >Alice gets upset at you offering her a buckeye >You have to explain they're named after a tree and have nothing to do with deer eyes >Now she won't stop eating the damn things
>>110146 FUCK FUCK FUCK why must you hurt me in this way lowkey Alice is literally me tho, I was so afraid of deer, especially antlered deer skeleton (uniroinically remember imagining these red ones growing out behind the couch in my childhood room at night, the dark eyesockets were looking at me even with no eyes back then, looking back, it fits closely to the church interior from 7), anyways Alice is not scared I am not either for along time, but poor Alice feeling sad about deer and crying 😭🦌 Not with all the cute drawings she made before the collapse, 'please don't touch my stuff' man she did not deserve any of the shit they put her thorugh man this shit sucks dmnas
Did not draw toady but these two from yesterday I didn't post I think, did make the upper one more detailed and ready for final lines and colouring, the lower Alice is practice of mimicking Liam's style
>>110156 Good ending Pic is life, I can't put into words now anymore but she looks soo good and beautiful in this second concept art😍🧡🤍🖤 I was thinking earlier today if it were possible to commission liam to draw Alice, but seeing the 3 questions for winners thing in the thread earlier, I think he's impossible to reach these days
>Fun Nighttime Canon Facts: Lizzy's dad is so dead inside and done with everything that Captchas functionally have no effect on him. He just brute forces his way through the mindfuck.
>>110174 >N seeing you looking in his direction >he doesn't smile yet, but his tail starts to wag slightly >it's only when you look away blushing that he smiles, the murder drone utilizing his killer instincts to sneak up to you and hug you tight >his face meets yours, his long, hot tongue lapping your face up and down as you giggle
Hello again anons! I come with great news! I finally have a working prototype of the Federation Star Map. More systems are yet to come, but the more important ones have already been placed.
>https://www.desmos.com/calculator/p8feevw57j >Make sure to activate "Reverse Contrast"
If you want to contribute to the map with you AU systems, go ahead!
>>109783 Cyn marked out all systems besides one. I agree that the stars represent groups of systems, but I think it's local stars rather than at a galactic scale.
was gonna draw the wings, but i got some stuff to do. i imagine she didn't really have this form since she was one of the drones in the library. when butler N was getting back to the basement, think she was one of the drones already ripped apart.
>>109524 I have an idea that could make for an interesting story, especially combined with these plot threads. >The original WDF from which Khan and Outpost-3 split off from wants to find and kill Uzi to stop the Solver, but its leaders secretly want it for themselves Liam could implement scrapped ideas he had with Khan as a villain and implement them into the other WDF leaders.
>>110183 I wish she was actually important to the story. She's the only drone besides the main 4 to be marked for disassembly and has a wig, things only Tessa's drones have.
>>110199 This program isn't for this either. Desmos is just a graphing calculator. Took a whole lot of galactic coordinates and trigonometry to make this work.
>>110213 I was under the impression the black haired one was unnamed and the one I posted was W. Also, our cute maid just proved the Solver lies to all its squads that they're the only ones who weren't mindwiped.
>>110192 Joke's on you, brother, I found a solution to this very dilemma a long while ago. There's a reason I came up with the "Serial Numbers." My biggest spoiler is that W and GF are not the original SD-W and SD-G respectively.
>>110228(me) And I don't mean it in the sense of clones, no I mean it in the "you guys are terrible, I'm replacing your designations with other, better puppets" kind of sense.
>>110229 >"[Mocking Giggle] Wow that was so bad. You got crushed by a grunt robot's backside. How does that even happen? I wish I could check your luck value but seeing as I am about to destroy your soul and start from scratch I will go ahead and assume it is low. Bye bye now. [Crush]."
>>110228 Not like it matters. Canon N is the 10,010th in his N series/production line if we go by his full designation. He wasn't the only drone in the N series, being my point.
>>110231 But he's the one the Solver has a scary yandere obsession with. He's the one whose soul gets endlessly put in new bodies and whose memories get endlessly wiped.
>>110232 I'd like to think that, at one point, N got mindwiped after Solver did something weird and embarrassing. And like, right after N almost convinced her not to be evil anymore.
>>109735 I still haven't met your imaginary Phoenix anywhere, seeing as how >b-but also they can’t have personalities, and there’s only like 100 ACTUAL SDs, the majority of them are just HECU worker drones, also if they go for a walk around the block without a mid-walk nap they go “AIIEEE I’M TURNING RED DR HOLLY HELP ME!!!!!” and then tear their own heads off or something Is a total horseshit mischaracterization of how I described the way I imagined my version of Sentinels working, putting aside of course that I have never to my own memory tried to enforce my vision on anyone else. The most I've ever done is pondered why someone would want to create a Sentinel Drone character which uses or references my aesthetic or lore, but dump all of lore that makes a Sentinel Drone meaningfully different from an Episode 1-4 Disassembly Drone.
Does mirror universe Phoenix at least have a cool evil beard like mirror universe Spock? If he has a cool evil beard and off brand roman salute I will forgive him having a different outlook on Sentinel Drones than I do.
>>110238 I just plan to use the sentinel drones aesthetic for my future projects. I like they a lot, they are really well-designed, but in they lore has moments that my autism doesn't like.
I understand the appeal of the idea of "humanity is doomed, well, more accurately, already dead, you just read stories of the death agony of an already dead civilisation," as well as the idea of an "evil" humanity, which makes the story a confrontation between black and grey. I'd like to make a story of humanity's great war for survival along with drones that have taken their life's purpose of "protecting and defending humanity" to heart, and selflessly fight the war for humans.
Yeah, I like sentinel drones, because they're kind DD, and plus you drew them just awesome, that's important too.
And I still like they original lore as well, I'm looking forward to the continuation of Elf's story because you really wrote a great character.

>>110203 just checked it. i think it's cool, though i have no idea where the Osmium system is actually located. i don't remember writing specific distance, only that it's one system that's been colonized out there somewhere since i didn't want to place my dumbsquad on the same planet as the main cast. my intent being to explore stuff like drone-human relationship (Irma and her family of Mining Rescue Team that she had to bury) at my own leisure and maybe play around with offense development that humans could've tried to do but was still kneecapped by the Solver drone who attacked the Bio Labs, releasing the native virus that eventually killed every human there. i want to explore picrel a little more since the green for that drawing ended up being a bit short. story-wise, i don't really know if there's any narrative reason to put Osmium-4 close or far away from Sol system or the Copper 9 system (because event sequence-wise, i'm doing the same thing as the show, just at a pace that i'd like + elements i want explored more). it's a neat idea for a personal project though, you can put Os-4 anywhere you feel is appropriate because i have no idea lol
>>110265 That's cool. Even then, I think I'll refrain from OC stuff for a while and have anons discuss the show if there are new viewers. I hope the thread vets would give new viewers the time and chance for them to process the show at their pace, especially if they're not familiar with the Vickers brand. I'll give it a look later since I haven't actually bothered visiting /co/ since quite some time, I think.
