Jannies are absolute faggots edition Keep all tourney talk in this thread.
Timer: https://itsalmo.st/for-qualifiers-yluh
The 2’s A /co/ tourney is a single elimination tournament where teams of 2 duke it out for both the glory of being the best tag team as well as snazzy and horribly inefficient championship belts.
I've nominated this when the other threads were closing or nuked like 3 times so I've had bad luck with this one, which is making more more determined to push it through Detectives of Baker Street: Basil and Dawson (The Great Mouse Detective) 5 supports so far
>>425234 It does, I was just doing it one more time before the thread died since I Zoom posted before the /co/ thread got deleted. I won't be doing it anymore until the nominations are over.
>>425244 A couple have been made but the problem is the jannie is now "working" so they get deleted instantly But eventually he'll be off and one will stay up getting people over here
>>425238 The purpose of the 24 hour timer in the first place is to allow all time zones to participate at reasonable local hours. That means it doesn't make sense to deduct whatever time nominations ran a week ago. It's not a big deal to have a few more hours of nomination.
>>425241 This NEVER GIVE IN TO JANNY TYRANNY We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in /co/, we shall fight on the forums and boards, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in OC production, we shall defend our tourney, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight with RPing, we shall fight with drawfagging, we shall fight with voting and posting, we shall fight with autism; we shall never surrender!
Ok so my test was making the most fucking shitty east vs west twitter thread imaginable on /co/ and then in the comments linking to this thread. The goal was to see which would jannie take down first The link to the tournament went down first
>Be Tag-team: Loved by /co/, only has to do his work for a week even if it's free >Be janny: Hated by everyone on /co/, has to work constantly but doesn't even show up most the time, will never get paid for a real job
>>425310 I got banned for a day when I cracked a joke about Dot from animaniacs. Saying she had about as much leadership skills as Trump. My post was there for a whole day before one jannie banned me saying it was off topic, even though I was talking about a /co/ character.
hate to be off-topic, but this site seriously needs an update button. there's just something off about having to refresh the whole page just to see some new posts.
>>425335 Agreed, but we haven't really had threads as active as this one for a long time so they were simply not a priority.
For now you can just press F5 like oldfags do. It's not like half of your posts will disappear if you do, we don't have janitors nuking posts left and right.
>>425352 Hate to bother you but is there any way you can check >>425330's IP to see if he's samefagging? Everyone knows he's the guy who ruined the tournament in the first place yet his nomination is somehow getting a lot of votes
>>425355 >Hate to bother you but is there any way you can check >>425330's IP to see if he's samefagging? Everyone knows he's the guy who ruined the tournament in the first place yet his nomination is somehow getting a lot of votes
Normally I'd be against this practice (not knowing if the reply is the same guy over and over is part of imageboard culture), but the guy is literally asking for it by naming the team "fuck your gay little tournament".
>>425379 No reason not to just run the timer out. The good thing to come of all this is the nomination process is slower, and support replies are harder to come by. We probably won't break 500 anyway.
>>425391 It sucks but it's better than nothing, I guess. Maybe the janny will get kicked out of the program by the time the next tournament rolls around.
>>425391 It feels like last years tournament if you were around for that so won’t feel odd for me But we have had slow tournaments, did you know it only took 18 votes to get into the first Mr /co/?
>>425393 >>425396 Yeah, the voters usually enact justice on any perceived bad actors regardless. Everyone voting in this probably recognizes that guy by now, and he chose a name to make it even more obvious. His entry is DOA.
>>425409 Fuse is a special enough faggot that I could absolutely see him creating four hundred Google accounts to make sure his picks win It’s best to just nip his teams in the bud now
>>425409 even discounting the illegit votes the characters still have more than enough to get in despite the name, not adding them at this point is sour grapes and actually harmful to camiland, whatever that is. visibility might make it more popular. it's not the creator's fault fuse chose that to launch his gay crusade.
>>425414 I don't think anyone was ever planning on legitimately nominating some literally whos from some loli incest webcomic so it's not a big loss if we discount the votes
Man, I had a feeling. Some of my nominations were really niche and got more votes than expected. No one is that eager to support that version of Hawk and Dove, for instance.
>>425407 >Is the image limit 300? Bump limit is 300, image cap is 350. Personally I feel like this would work better in /coc/ since the bump limits are almost double there, plus this is kind of a project of a sort. But it's already ongoing, so I guess it is fine, unless we end up with something like 2 pages worth of threads or something like that.
>>425436 Yeah but honestly fuck this guy, he deserves to be called out. Not like TTA is going to add it to the spreadsheet anyway. Also nominating again, Anne and Sprig from Amphibia as Spranne.
oh well, I got 13 nominations through and you only caught two so the joke's on you. I don't even know who this fuse guy is but thanks for all the (you)s and attention
>>425440 because, like here, there's a lot of samefagging being done to get horrible candidates through. unlike here, there isn't a sellout mod exposing it
>>425429 >Are any of the proxies from France can't be arsed to check all of them, but now that you mentioned it, one of the few I checked is indeed from France. His original non-proxy posts seem to come from the US though. Geolocation says Charleston, South Carolina.
>>425432 >A new rule should be to try to bump each thread off of page 1 once it hits image limit. That's usually when we make new threads around here normally, so yeah, that would be a good idea. Unless you run out of the image cap or something.
>>425425 wouldn't have cared if you didn't specifically made a bait post.
>>425444 It's kind of futile to nominate anyone on the other site because there's a ticking countdown for when the janny finishes his hot pocket break and nukes the thread before your nomination gets the required support, at which point you'll be posting it here anyway. In fact, that thread died as I typed this. It's easier for Tag and everyone else to just nominate here.
>>425464 >>425460 support >>425465 What are you talking about? Mocking a pathetic retard who lives in shithole South Carolina and is still obsessing over an awful idea he had three years ago is the most fun I’ve had this week
>>425450 Thank you. Two questions: What happens to a thread that reaches bump limit and is bumped off Page 1? Does it go to Page 2 or is it archived?
And speaking of archives, is there a way to see any archived threads past 2014? I hope it's possible to look back on these even after they've been bumped off the board.
>>425476 >What happens to a thread that reaches bump limit and is bumped off Page 1? Does it go to Page 2 or is it archived? If you hit the bump limit, the thread won't bump anymore. If you hit the image cap, posts can still be added, but only without files. Threads will reach page 2 once other threads on the board get bumped up beyond them - if no one posts anything in other threads to raise them up, there's a chance this one will stay up quite a bit beyond the bump limit.
The only reason I asked you to not make a new thread until this one hits page 2 is so page 1 doesn't end up with nothing but these threads. That's all, really.
>is there a way to see any archived threads past 2014? I hope it's possible to look back on these even after they've been bumped off the board. Nothing gets bumped off the boards at the moment, and even if they did, plus4chan is pretty slow for that. Posts before 2014 don't show up because we moved to a new board engine at that time and had to reset everything. You can check any older archives dating back to 2007 here: https://boards.plus4chan.org/archives.php
>>425499 They need to get 8 nominations to make it in, and I don't think TTA was keeping track of that thread so it's up to people to find this thread and post their nominations again, along with how many votes they got.
>>425513 I could, but OP would need to verify those to be sure, so there's no point in listing them here - just check the 4chan archives. https://boards.fireden.net/co/thread/119599891/
>>425511 regarding the Blues Brothers; they had both a comic and a cartoon planned but neither got made - however they have some comic cameos, in X-Factor and in Ghostbusters. Not sure if that's enough.
Does the duplicate picture thing have a fix? Maybe bumping the refugee thread off the pages does it? Because I feel this could get annoying in the future.
Gonna head to bed soon. You can keep nominating and supporting but I gotta rest, my helper Domino's will try to update the list til they need to sleep. Gnight and Merry Christmas
>>425530 >Does the duplicate picture thing have a fix? Yes, post files that haven't been posted yet. I understand that this is annoying but allowing duplicates would result in new threads just having the old images reposted en masse, and as we do not purge threads, this could become problematic real fast. I have an idea for getting around the more immediate problem (server space) but it would require a major rewrite of all the posting and the image handling code, and frankly it isn't an issue because usually we don't get this many posts.
The files are checked by hash so you can just add a random byte to the end of the file to get around this. Or maybe I can try an interim solution and have duplicates checked only by thread, but I'm not sure our software supports that.
>>425555 Files are hashed by content, filename doesn't matter. But if you just add 1 extra byte to the end or change some metadata, the hash will be different.
>I’d recommend trying to get the software to recognize duplicates on only one thread if you haven’t tried already. That has been planned for a long while, but I've been too busy recently to work on it (the entire post.php needs to be rewritten for other reasons so it's not a half hour patch).
They're not entered as a duo so I'm just gonna link it but I finished Tom and Dr. Mrs. for the Christmas card: https://imgur.com/a/0S0PMNf Ideally I'll be able to add the winners before Christmas.
I just realized something that concerned me. With the tourism to this site, we are seeing more people post here and this brings up a concern with keeping the tourey posts archived. What can we do to archive them?
>>425193 Nominating Gwenpool and Zone-Tan. Team of degenerate fangirls and also because somebody suggested this in a Gwenpool thread and now I can't stop thinking about it
>>425618 Morning. I made this concern in this thread but with the tournament causing tourism, the site is getting more activity so I just want to make sure we have a way to archive these posts if they get bumped down to deletion.
I’m shocked this one hasn’t been nominated yet Jack Skellington and The Grinch from Nightmare Before Christmas and How The Grinch Stole Christmas Team Name: Fake Santas
>>425509 supporting, and please remember we have the Melusine translations project on /coc/ in case anyone wants to finish the translating the remaining books: >>>/coc/417376
>>425667 It's likely some spillover from OC and RP of her as Monarch's henchgirl after her loss in Ms. /co/, accompanied by pretty good edits and OC of her in the Monarch henchmen uniform.
Hey uh, I believe during the prior round I attempted to rename my submission from "Daria Guy's Gals" to "FDTG's Gals", since it's more concise and less of a tongue twister.
Nominating Lady Shiva and The High Priestess. Team name: Mentor Mommies. Linking back because I don't want to make a new image. https://boards.plus4chan.org/co/t424792.html#p425176
>>425535 >>425745 Fang and Dr. Mrs. only need two more if there are anons who think this duo would be their inclination. It's okay if they're not though.
The Self-Inserts - Jared Shapiro from The Powerpuff Girls and Amity Blight from Owl House Technically this had 9 supports over two threads but if OP doesn't want to check the last had 6
>>425336 >>425515 >>425608 >>425653 I support all of these. The best part about this is Gwen can technically participate in all of these teams and it'd work
Let's fucking GO! (This image is inspired by the adult swim bumpers. I want to do a whole set of memes with them next thread and as the competition goes on if they make it)
>>425821 >How the fuck did you do the bold I'm poking around this place a little, looked a little at the stickied thread in /baw/ and found the shortcuts in the OP. Works exactly like spoilers.
>>425821 >How the fuck did you do the bold [b], [i] and [u] shortcodes work, and you can also use the corresponding hotkeys, ie. ctrl+b, ctrl+i and ctrl+u. Ctrl+s is spoilers like on 4chan. You can also use #fortune and #heroes in the name fields.
