Sure hope the folks here are fine with us moving this here due to shit moderation on /co/
Keep all tourney talk ITT
Timer: None yet
The Tag Team Tourney is a single elimination tournament where teams of 2 duke it out for both the glory of being the best tag team as well as snazzy and horribly inefficient championship belts.
>>424792 We are not nominating yet btw, this is sort of a pre tourney thread to help get people back here. Do not worry though, your nominations are still counted from the past threads
>>424818 I was only a minor player (Alex and the TS girls, a few other people occasionally) but I’m looking forward to it too! I need to remember to nominate Sam and Ed when the time comes
Reminder that in the lore the Misers are behind the tournament’s troubles >They knocked out TagTeam’s WiFi >They made Domino start the thread late and forget to use a trip >They were the spammers posting CP and fake threads The only thing we don’t know is why they did it
>J/aco/lyn >Hope Corgi based. I didn't know they were going to be in this. The judges need more lore and involvement in this. Sam & Max are obviously going to just make fun of the contestants but what will the other ones do?
>>424843 You don't know truly divine taste until you've dined on John's five star shit soufflé. I can't understand how a gluttonous cat such as yourself has never even attempted to sample a taste despite being in such close proximity to the best dish ever concocted.
Here’s a big question: Are we prepared to make a bunch of new threads for bumping out this one and others as the tourney progresses and we might just hit image limit?
>>424847 They got drawings, greentexts, and vocaroos. It's mostly just because people are trying to draw the contestants first, and even then they at least got one drawing which is more then some people in the competition.
Bonjour Monsieurs and Mademoiselles, I've come looking for a girl named Gwen, otherwise known as "Ze Crazy Pink Girl Blowing Shit Up", would anyone happen to know where I can find her?
>>424879 It's the middle of the night and when Tag Team Anon asked people to not rp during nominations they didn't. That said I do think rpers needs to consider if their pick loses that they stop rping as them, or at least cut it down. But it all depends on how much traffic the nomination threads get.
>>424883 As an rper, I think what can help cut rping back is having other things to talk about. So like the vehicle designing shit, or even just talking about what teams you like and why (without getting into autistic slapfights about it) can work as an alternative to constant rping.
>>424887 If people talks about the design of the vehicles it would be interesting to draw, also... What if we talk about the race? The scenarios and obstacles...
Just remember it’s the middle of the night for Americans, it’s going to be a struggle to get the word out and that nominations aren’t going to resume until Friday. Don’t try to turn this into a success in a few hours.
>>424906 If you were here last year it was really chill and low key, so I expect similar But just make threads when nominations begin again on /co/ to redirect here and the majority that would participate will come. Because I only just found out from someone linking to here
Also, depending on how many people actually show up here amount of supports to qualify might need to be lowered, but then again it's very late in the USA and many who were participating probably haven't seen this yet
>>424914 The host is going to try again tomorrow or saturday but we don't know what will happen. I still thinm the tourney should be delayed until we got word from a mod. Also, how do you know fusefag is banned and how do we not know if he has people working with him that just hate the tourneys too
>>424934 I won't even rp if the tourney doesn't gain traction on here. Rp is only fun when there are people to watch and your on a relatively fast board.
RP is just another way of generating OC, but it's a lot easier than drawing and green text so it's not surprising it's the most common. And like with Mr. /co/ and to an extent Ms. /co/, you can't force people to create content just for the winners. This might not be the best time to discuss whether rp is good or bad for the tournaments, given the circumstances.
So what's happening? You guys making the post over at /co/ to come over here or actual nominations going to be attempted at /co/? At the very least this place should be linked
>>424914 >I want to believe, but the threads on page 8 here were last updated in 2016
Don't let that discourage you. Plus4chan is much slower since it is primarily the backup board for 4chan /co/. Plus we have the projects and promotions boards.
>>424830 Lore idea: The jannies nuking the threads are portrayed with actual nukes, and The Lich comes from those nukes/the remains of the nuked threads.
>>425012 Since they are already part of a team, the hotel staff, you could just name their team after the hotel. Like "Hazbin Management" or something.
Hey, The spreadsheet has team Las Muertitas twice, one with the series labels and one with NEEDS SERIES in the series place. Also funny how the team is placed 34, knowing that Catarina La Catrina is only known because of her obscene amount of rule34.
>>425041 First time outside of the adrenaline rush imageboards? Take a look around, we've got threads from 2014 still live. And that's because the codebase changed then, 2007-2014 is in the link in the red header. https://boards.plus4chan.org/archives.php
>>425041 >>425042 thread cap is 300, except on /baw/ and /coc/ where it is higher. Pruning is off since we are slow enough that we don't need it, so archiving doesn't happen either. If you reach the bump cap and the thread stops bumping, please wait until it's off page 1 before you make the next thread.
There's a separate image cap which is a bit higher than the bump cap but I forgot what value it is set to.
>>425043 Yeah, I'm new to Plus4chan. I'm currently trying to figure out the layout and the thing I'm trying first is how the archives work. Currently trying to find the search bar to look things up in the archive.
>>425046 It's not like the recent 4chan archive sites (like desuarchive, fireden, 4plebs, rbt.asia) which are a whole imageboard in themselves dedicated to try and archive the entire history of rapid-paced 4chan, with search tools and other cool, necessary features. Our archives are more like a dump of the imageboard, as it was, before it was updated to new software. Imageboard archives are a new thing, imageboards used to be seen as a temporary thing where threads were gone forever once they hit page 10, only alive in screencaps, memes and your memories. Our archives only have the final pages 1-9 (you can find older threads on web.archive.org though), and there simply was never a search feature. Even the catalog is a new feature from this year or last year following a change of staff. We just didn't really need it before and the previous devs were notoriously sleepy. Just open all the pages and Ctrl+F search, I guess.
If you haven't been to any/many imageboards outside of 4chan and the other most popular ones, it can be a bit of a surprise to adjust to slower ones which are almost more like forums. Some boards like /baw/, /co/ and /pco/ are active enough to check daily, while /draw/ has had 6 posts this year. The site lost a lot of traffic as oldfags grew up and when 4chan finally added /aco/ and 8chan added /delicious/.
Also is it just me or are our archives down? >mfw people from 2010 already saying "4chan has gone to shit"
That’s waaaay too late, and the janny might actually be on at that time to screw with you compared to others. I’ve noticed there’s been a slack off in /co/‘s moderation for the past couple of days so doing it earlier and providing extra time could be worth a shot.
>>425054 >Is there an Image limit? >>425044 >There's a separate image cap which is a bit higher than the bump cap but I forgot what value it is set to.
>>425046 The layout should be more or less the same as on 4chan, except with slightly less features (for ex. there's no automatic thread update, you have to press F5) and the mobile view is incomplete. The search bar shows up on the top in the index and catalog of each board. Archives don't have search, they are HTML dumps from older imageboard engines, no database whatsoever.
>>425049 >>425057 You don't need to worry about archiving. The threads will stay up as long as plus4chan stays up.
>>425048 >Also is it just me or are our archives down? They work on my end. What error do you get?
>>425063 Perhaps they will join us later. I would like to make sure that those from the previous tourney are accounted for. Can you tell me who else has posted. And what of the artists?
>>425065 Either because they are on a power trip and don't allow anyone to like what they don't like, or because the system requires them to meet a quota - note that janitor applications are open like every other month now. Also note that 4chan itself has a plethora of rules designed to make threads normie friendly, so things like board lingo or board culture is not allowed, RP is not allowed, posts need to be "high quality", and so on and on. So they have an excuse to delete whatever they want, and it's not like there's anyone to tell them to stop.
>>425072 >People do tell them to stop, they just don’t listen. Why would they? You can't do anything about it, the mods don't care about it either, and Hiro definitely does not care. 4chan gets millions of posts daily, even if they make hundreds of people fuck off, it'll be a drop in the ocean. In fact Hiro probably wants the place over moderated because he wants it to be advertiser friendly.
>the rules depend on who’s awake and watching. Because they only delete what they don't like, not everything they need to. Like, back in the /aco/ drawthreads you couldn't request characters the janitors didn't like, but outside the drawthreads - which they did not monitor 24/7 - you could post beastiality and loli and nothing happened.
While we're waiting for nominations, does anyone want to predict their top 8?
I'll start (in no order) Wallace and Gromit Eda and Grunkle Stan Spear and Fang Bert and Ernie Miser Bros Copper Couple Alastor and Bill Bugs and Daffy
>>425089 Past two contests have taught me it's not a good idea to make guesses too early, but I would love to see >Eda and Stan >Wirt and Beatrice >Mabel and Louise go far.
>>425089 cool. here's my prediction for Top 8: Wallace and Gromit Bugs and Daffy Bert and Ernie (thanks to memes) Master Shake and Monarch Sarah and James Toki and Skwisgaar Dick Dastardly and Muttley Scooby Doo and Courage
>>425061 >They work on my end. What error do you get? None, there's no response from GET request when using Tor Browser so it just endlessly waits. Firefox on VPN works without issue so no problem.
>>425116 At that time there’ll be another attempt at a thread over there, right? So do we put nominations in that thread and then only start doing it here if (when) that thread gets taken down?
>>425183 >>425188 thread cap is 300 here but since there's nothing else going on you may as well continue in this thread, it's not like this will fall off the first page for a few days if weeks.
Alternatively you can move to /coc/ where the cap is 500.
