Suffering chart is over a quarter done. If you want to recommend a place for someone write the numbers as -how much suffering they deserve-/-suffering they get- and some of the reasons, I'll look the responses to the suggestions, then write the names into the squares.
This is supposed to be a base done in paint so someone with editing skills can make a proper chart with actual images out of it.

Isaac Clarke, Raiden, and Wario will definitely have some momentum after their narrow R4 losses last year.
Captain Falcon, Chris Redfield, and Mario have shots at finally making Elite Eight this year.
For the 2022 Elite Eight, JC, Travis, and Phoenix are likely to make it far again, the rest are pretty spotty.
King Boo and the Icon of Sin will job harder than last year.

In slight defense, I recall one or two anons bringing up her Mega Man 8 attire as an alternate. It’s my own personal preference over her original dress, so I can get it. Think there also a couple suggestions to give her a more dynamic pose or closer crop to match the other girls. That being said, not denying at all that others were definitely getting weird over it since it certainly happened. Believe it’s the only E8 pic in either tournament that actually got scrutiny from anons, which is already somewhat telling.

Is Demi-fiend the youngest character in-canon to make Elite Eight in King of /v/ thus far? He’s right on the border of adulthood, but that’s still off the norm compared to other elites. Typically the men who make it are in at least their 20s by the time we cover their main portrayals. Only vague cases here are Jack Frost and Rayman.

Recette has been controversial ever since her honeymoon period ended. The aerd situation mentioned didn’t help, but even without that she’s remained a debated figure in hindsight.

The Batter had a way more positive reception in comparison. He’s gotten more controversial now because of the previous two winners. Feel a lot of people were expecting another cornerstone winner by now and instead we got two picks that while quite liked are pretty niche in most contexts. Grimm being another RPG Maker protagonist is especially notable.

It's true. Queen has much better variety and arguably their picks succeed better at what King picks do. Samus gets a lot of hate for being non-existent in tournamemt lore, but I think she was the most solid pick for a first year tournament winner with how much of an impact on female protagonists she left while Armstrong, who I think is fun, I also think was a bit of an odd choice for a first year tournament even accounting for his meme status and I think a main character or a more prominent antagonist should have won the first year instead. Curly I find more fitting for a 4chan tournament indie winner and a more iconic indie character overall than Batter. While Black Souls might have started its fandom on 4chan, Touhou is one of the first things I think of when I think of 4chan.

I’m one of the more positive ones on Batter’s win, but even then it is a shame how perfect it would have felt retiring Eggman that year.

>finally makes Elite Eight after Dante blocked him TWICE
>had to take down the first runner-up in Doomguy to do it
>had a face-off with the other beloved fat man powerhouse, Wario
>took down a silent powerhouse in Kiryu

I loved Batter vs. Spamton like a lot of other people, but I think it really carried the character’s win hard alongside the obvious schizo alliance. Even the Nyarly match was mostly focused on the conspiracy posting jokes.

Big reason I bring this all up is because there felt like a role reversal last year with Grimm. He actually had a perfect storm while Eggman meandered a surprising amount despite at least three great opponents. Wario vs. Eggman was indeed a highlight, but it wasn’t even the kind of crackmatch you got with Batter vs. Spamton.

She got second place. Refusing to use multiple accounts is not a wise strategy, my lord. Having multiple accounts directly increases the chances of your pick making it through. There is no reason not to use them. Link is never going to get anywhere, and for FF7 SISSIEroth is a round 1 jobber and Cloud doesn't even qualify anymore, Kefka did better than both of them which makes me happy Ko/v/'s taste in FF is slowly getting better (queen's taste in FF still sucks though judging by tifa being the only one to get in and getting silentfagged to round 4)

Alex just doesn't appeal to me because he isn't genuine. No one actually likes YIIK or Alex as a character. People meme on scenes from the game and moments with Alex because they suck. His presence was writefagging that mainly felt like self-inserting that didn't actually show off his character, the possibility of beating an actual beloved pick like Wario out of contrarianism, and the GETposting that is just something that has nothing to do with his character appeal or anything of the sort.
Compare it to Jack. He is memed, but it is genuine enjoyment of his character. Stranger of Paradise ended up being a game that was actually good. The funny scenes like "Bullshit" are funny because of their ridiculousness rather than being poorly written or anything of the sort. The use of My Way was genuine kino. Jack is an entertaining character because he is genuinely entertaining, not because he's ironically shitty.
These tournaments are at its core a bunch of us being autistic and trying to show our love for our favorite characters and games. Characters like Alex or Not Important feel feel like they are just here for the joke of it. Alex only lost to Wario by 65 votes. That's way too small a margin for a character who's allegedly a powerhouse and frontrunner to win 2024. When they can beat characters who people have real passion for it puts a bad taste in my mouth. It's the antithesis of what I like about the tournaments.

Alex and YIIK sucks ass, but people like to meme on it, so they actually like the game in SOME way, unlike people with Goodbye Volcano High. Yeah Vidya that's "So bad it's good" is NOT anything like movies that are so bad they're good. Watching a good movie has you doing the exact same thing as watching a bad movie, sitting in a chair and laughing. A bad vidya makes you actually play it, and you gotta deal with stuff like stupid controls, poor balance, obnoxious AI etc. Only game I enjoyed like that was Goat simulator, but that's the loosest sandbox game ever. You just screw around with a goat and watch the funny ragdoll physics go at it, it's more like a toy than it is a vidya.

I'm aware of this, that's the entire point of heel characters. I didn't vote for either during qualifiers, but as RP characters they are FINE as long as it's in service of another character. From a tournament-meta stand point I welcome their presence more than Alex's.

Maybe okay with it it, because they liked the competition a lot or they were well commemorated some way in the contest or art (Wario to Eggman, John Ward to Grimm). But never "YES! My character LOST!" The whole point of a contest is to try to WIN, that's what makes the game fun. There's a few but I'll honestly say the most underrated and possibly the biggest one.

Geralt winning over Eggman.
This was something I was adamant about but I didn't vote Geralt over Eggman because Sam said it, I literally just liked Geralt better than Eggman. And the thing that would've made it worth it, is the fact that Geralt had gained a good reputation and was actually having good OC and campaign alongside it.
Bad bracket luck was the sole reason Geralt was kicked out so early and didn't reach his true potential.

Sunny is somewhat ironic since his first eligible tournament was 2021, and the Batter is certainly the king who would come up the most for the sake of comparisons. Game just had way too much discourse around it at the time for any of its boys to ride off a hype wave. I feel the shota stigma would kill Sunny’s chances of winning, but he could have at least gotten a couple rounds in.

Fine, I'll give you the truth then. I'm using incest as a means to stop rigging. Jack did you know Grimm in his games are incestous? Probably not here's another fun fact Alex is also incestous, but he also did better than andy and leyley? Do you know why? It's because if incest is the main tagline of your game you'll be hated! But if you sprinkle it in the game nobody is none the wiser.

NightFansArt drew her, but this was before he impaled Stats on a suit of armor to become host. I don't think Batter himself is a bad winner as much as people try to cry tumblr when he had a impact on indie games like Undertale that /v/ liked before anyone else even if they pretend now they didn't. I still think him having the most OC of any character in the tournaments to date in just one year proves he somewhat earned his win. It's just the tournament legacy he left behind thanks to the alliance that helped him win. Had the schizo alliance just died out after he won, he would be remembered a lot more fondly. I have to agree with others that I'm pretty sick of schizos.

I think Grievous has also aged well. While Mr. /co/ does have a somewhat similar situation to King right now with its villain triad, all three feel incredibly different. Zorak and Skeletor have a classic feeling to them on top of board presence, and the latter in particular seems like the perfect pick to set off a more campaign-heavy pick. As for Grievous himself, having one winner that transcends the main medium of the tournament feels fitting for a wider genre of media. The world of the prequels has also aged like wine in the offset of some of Disney’s worse avenues with the franchise.

None of this is to downplay Boop. She’s definitely the most legacy-heavy pick of that batch and nobody is ever going to bat an eye at her being a previous champion. While I think Recette is still certainly better than Johanna, it does feel somewhat like a reverse of Queen 2021 where the more historic pick won by a close margin.

I also read that some N guy from Murder Drones got a decent campaign and watched a bit until some faggot blurted out
>Classic toxic masculinity Chad, I'm sure that won't become problematic
I mean if you want to insert politics and culture war bullshit at least make it subtle and don't make the faggot strike some pose like he accomplished something. Step back, Jack. AM at the helm of /v/ is America's best chance at becomming the country it was MADE to be.
Think about it, every man, woman and child enacting full control of their lives in a world perpetually sieged by war and death, it's the only context where everyone has an equal chance at prosperity and growth, and I won't let a little orphan rat like you get in the way of that.

Already ruined by Fagland's chaos connundrum, but you already heard the big man speak Raiden, this board needs a strong succesor to Grimm and his quest for peace and by my very nature I can focus on such a task perpetually, or would you rather let innocents like Sunny live in a world festered with social media screencaps and shill threads? Well, it makes sense for someone like you, you were always Snake's lapdog, and now that he has left for Elite 8 you just run in circles looking for enemies where there are none, don't you have a wife, a child? Do you even kiss them, or do you need Snake to do it first?

>>90289
Even if I wanted, no, I cannot. Being a not-a-host, I have no direct access to vote sheets besides the ones NSA sent me.
And I don't particularly want to because I've come to see quite some changes I should make to the program first. Some to make graphs nicer, some because after some thought I realized some methods weren't quite proper for rig detection as were.
Particularly Benford's law, not fit for rounds, as it requires lots of data points and isn't quite pinpoint-y about data anomalies it finds. Should do fine for nomations' analysis, tho.
>>90290
Mostly just unaware, wasn't quite here for most of this ordeal, for aforementioned being busy IRL. Anything after the first half of Queen is blank for me, not much to think of. The most dumbed down version about the NSA/OFA stuff is there's incredibly strong evidence to believe NSA is a fairly prominent drawfag, and a lot of the weird tournament happenings line up WAY too well with the drawfag's tastes. Also, he's been incredibly ranty and he seemed to have it out for several character fanbases. Notably AM in King 2022 after beating Albert Wesker and some AM posters not taking NSA's shit, and Amaterasu in Queen 2023 after beating Bayonetta and calling out the loser's bracket stuff as being inherently stupid. I think Coaynnon made a post that linked all of the most compelling questions and evidence bits.

If you want a TL;DR basically NSA was discovered to be one of the most prominent tournament artists, and a particularly spiteful one at that who highly suspect if not outright confirmed of being responsible for a good number of controversies surrounding certain characters.

Having someone that analyzes statistics on the actual hosting team would be a godsend. The fact he does so much to stop rigging, but doesn't use you much is sad. Though
