Canon duos have source material to demonstrate how well they work, but there are crossover pairs with really strong concepts and potential chemistry that I feel can compete. Crossover pairs also have the benefit of not having a canon they're limited by. Not that people stick strictly to canon in these things, but the lack of canon interaction is a blank check to build it from scratch, rather than sticking to how a relationship is portrayed in the source material. I tend to find crossovers preferable for that reason unless I already really like the canon team.

The 29th of Dec. was preferable to my schedule, also this would also technically place the 2023 tourney in 2023, but Jan. 5th seems to be what's being pushed and if that's considered best then that could be done. Tag I guess could be traditionally done the year after it's stated year (which was done last year) or just rename the it to 5th edition or whatever.
Balls is gone and Samaritanon hasn't stated anything about his plans. Looks like I may do it solo which is fine but co-op and /cov/ I probably won't be able to do that.

Hi Coayy, I'm the same anon who (somewhat) came up with the idea of having it hosted on January. I actually wanted to see it get hosted on very late December but then again, seeing it run past New Years wouldn't sound right. You could go ahead and host it there if you want since you and Sam are the ones in charge of the side tournaments.

Speaking of which, when is the last time you spoke or saw Sam? Maybe he could be too busy IRL to host anything by this point.

Also, what do you think of /cov/ being hosted on February and Co-op on March? There's been plans to start them there on the schedule thread. I think those sound like good ideas as we could finally give the more newer ones a try after them.

It seemed like it was really just a combination of weird scheduling. Balls was meant to do most of the day posting before he retired. NSA was unable to post threads most of the time, penis was also unable to post and seemed to be dealing with something else almost the whole tourney, and samaritanon seemed occasionally around. It ended up being mostly me and Ghost for OP's. Ghost did the day posting but on the afterparty day I guess he got occupied. I haven't actually heard from him since.
