Considering mr /co/ now at least has a heads up on the whole dilemma, how many throwaway accounts will people make for this as people have more time in setting up one now, that is unless it’s not needed for mr /co/ or a better option is solved. Personally I’m not even remotely bothered by this but I'm more bothered of doomfags taking over and pissing on all the fun at ms /co/, at least mr /co/ doesn’t have this problem or shitflinging but im saying this in advance just in case so we can all be on the same boat.

That’s…not the reaction I was expecting. The point is don’t be stubborn and lazy, it just ruins things for everyone else. We must show everyone on how better and positive Mr /co/ is in comparison to the current tournament, it’s silly in the end but I’m not allowing that kind of behavior to ruin a tradition. People asked if I'm done doing my shows after the recent events. No. I'm going to continue to do my shows as normal. But I will respectfully ask not to do the finale announcement if everything else is the same about how Mr. /co/lympus 2023 goes. Not that I fear being made a scapegoat. I unironically teared up reading the posts that saw what the situation was and were so understanding. No, the reason being is that it creates a delay in the release of the results.

The way it worked is that I'd have four separate tracks made, two for 3rd place, two for first, in advance. I'd receive the results ~5 minutes after the hour, complete the recordings as described, and have the vocaroo link to the host less than ten minutes after receipt of the numbers. This year being an anomaly for obvious reasons, but even then, I had it out in under fifteen.

That being said, I completely understand that A: that's still too long and B: some people don't want to or can't listen to the show, and are stuck asking in the threads. I never want to inconvenience anybody; my shows are to make things easier, not harder. I want people to listen to the shows, of course, but making it a mandatory thing, I realize now, isn't the way to go about it.

Squidward made the elite eight last year but consistently mr crabs and plankton have made it and occasionally SpongeBob himself. Almost none of the family guy cast show up besides maybe Peter and he’s usually round 1 fodder. Master Carl and more recently master shake are usually the best performing characters whereas everyone else is fodder, regular show characters are fodder, moe is the best performing Simpson character, hank and dale are the only KOTH characters I’ve seen participate, Thomas characters haven’t appeared at all(quite frankly I can see why), iroh and zuko perform the best of the avatar characters, Total drama characters are fodder, Looney tunes has some very strong contenders that haven’t appeared yet such as foghorn leghorn, Fudd, Sylvester, porky, you name it.

Running my predictions right now just to see what I get right when Mr. /co/ comes around
>Simpsons
Homer and then some Sneedposter combination of Sneed, Chuck, and Moe
>Family Guy
Surprisingly not very popular in Mr. /co/, Peter will probably make it in but no guarantees for anyone else
>SpongeBob
There's the funposter trio of Sponge, Krabs, and Squidward but given Squidward is E8'd this year probably Plankton will fill his spot
>Total Drama
Chris Mclean, the rest is a tossup
>Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Usually Carl takes a slot from one of the main trio but he's out this year so just Shake, Meatwad, Frylock should all have no problems making it in this year
>Looney Tunes
Marvin will be back, Bugs is always a heavy hitter, no Daffy so the last slot is a tossup
>Thomas and Friends
None because this is Mr. /co/ not Mr. DeviantArt
>Avatar
Iroh and Zuko definitely, last slot is a tossup (probably Sokka?)
>Regular Show
Rigby and Benson, last slot is a tossup between any of the main cast besides Mordecai
>King of the Hill
Hank 100%, Dale probably, not sure for last slot but theoretically Propaneniggers could enter Mr. /co/ as well

Speedy made it once and is always high up
That last slot is always very tough, especially now because Marvin used to be in that occasionally makes it list but now seems like he'll be cemented in a yearly role and Bugs and Daffy are definite every years they are eligible.
Usually the guy who makes it is Wile so it'll likely be him, but last year alone Speedy, Pepe, Foghorn, Elmer and Porky made the top 200 and Yosemite was 205. And that's with people knowing the three character rule exists so they might leave out votes they would for others if there was none and would lead to a lot of them being in
That last Looney Tunes slot is one of the most hotly contested slots in any tournament

We're likely getting five or six Shrek picks this year after the Puss originals were greenlit. If it's the obvious five, then we could expect
>Shrek
>Puss in Boots
>Farquaad
>Jack Horner
>Death
How would everyone expect these five to do this year prior to the tournament starting?

For me, I'd say Shrek, Horner, Puss, Farquaad, and Death have the best odds in that order. I could end up very wrong, but I just see Death whiffing while Horner ends up with the stronger campaign. Would love to be wrong, however.

I don't see him winning the thing but I can at least see him reach E8 at most. Steve Harwell's death will be a non-factor since it couldn't save Fiona in Ms. and the overall stigma against pityvoting.
>Puss in Boots
He'll either be a silent majority favorite or a massive spitevoting target.
>Farquaad
He was one of 2022's darkhorses similar to Livesey since he made it to the top 32 on his first try. He'll probably do well again if his campaign keeps going, maybe E8 if he gets a luckier bracket.
>Jack Horner
Like you said, stronger campaign potential. He'll do fine but has the potential to whiff early on by just a few votes (like how Cartman beat him here).
>Death
He's gonna get an absurdly high seed and then job in round 1 to someone like Samurai Jack or Hank Hill.

I just looked and Wuya's got 72 tagged entries but not a lot of them are solo and are specifically celebrating her win, but I don't think that's really an indication of how well-liked a winner is. Here are two good ones if you just want something celebrating her:

I prefer the term anti-campaigner but yeah I wouldn't be surprised. He is also the milf poster and everytime you come up with a good argument to destroy his ass he ignores and dumps his collection as cope. He doesn't care about the girls he posts either and giving them a bad image and any mention of Eris and Wuya triggers his autism like in those Xiaolin and Grim threads a while ago

If I had to do my own ranking it would be like this
>Jenny
The most organic winner and one of the best girls. Kind of wish her tournaments remained in the same quality after that.
>Betty
Spite tournament aside, she fits perfect as the legacy winner considering her importance in animation history.
>Wuya
She's been here since the very first year with her presence increased this year. Midna drawanon coming to help with another elite 8 just for her was the cherry on top.
>Mrs. Monarch
Pity carried I know but at least the Monarch and other posters Made her victory worth it, even though I wanted Tyr'ahnee to win.
>Fang
She was just too predictable because Primal was airing at the time. Sorry to those who like her
>Spinel
Raven should have won, no more comments.

Not everyone evaluates by /co/ and tourney meta. Betty is good cause she's a medium icon, original waifu, classic ect. And it's not as if she isn't a fun character with good toons of her own. She's the best non-meta ms. we could probably have.
And tbh Mrs. Moanrch is kind of boring on her own and her victory went to what probably should've been male Monarch's spot cause the ms. tourney came first. It doesn't surprise me people are downplaying her in succeeding years.

Venture Bros. is good but there are better characters than Dr. Mrs. and since the tournaments operate under the unspoken rule of one winner per canon for the foreseeable future, I can see why people look at HER specific win less favorably now. It doesn't make her a bad winner, but it also means Monarch will probably never win and he's just a stronger character overall.

It would be a massive stretch to seethe over John Silver being too /lit/ for a /co/ tournament, Disney's movie is too disconnected from the literary source material and too much of its own thing, same would go for Disney's Alice in Wonderland etc
An example of being more /lit/ than /co/ would be something like trying to nominate Harry Dresden from The Dresden Files as a comics character, yes he has graphic novels but those are basically just add-ons to his primary appearances in his /lit/ material (they're even written by the same author)

No, this really is a "forced rivalry".
Not every match has to result in creating rivalries, characters can just banter and fight during the round and that's it. Maybe make a callback to it if they end up against each other again, sure, but no need to make the characters hate each other and fight outside a match for the rest of time. Not everything has to become some sort of "lore".

I know most people don't know about this character, but he is Dolph, who wants to rule the world and appears in a Dutch cartoon series called Alfred Jonathan Quack. He is a combination of Napoleon and Hilter (you can see his moustache). It also has its own theme:

It's fairly popular 2000's nostalgia, not EEnE or Venture Bros. tier but it's remembered decently. It helps that tourney's are way more meta and campaigned concerned too.

As controversial as it is to say, I'm voting for Jack because I think it's overdue due to how every year besides 2021 have some event that royally screws him over (2018 with the host rigging for Captain America, 2020 with someone forgetting to vote for him leaving him to lose by one vote, and potentially this year because his anon has been busy), I wanted to do stuff for him but was not drawing most of the day because my teeth were killing me, and his anti-campaign joke has been funny as hell this and last round so there is something to look back on for him this year though it would be understandable if Skeletor won, but one of the two better win the whole thing.

>Repostan my blatant Lucifer propaganda here for little bit more visibility

Now that we are already in the final stretch of the tournament, I'd like to make a case for my pick in the Bottom tournament: Lucifer. Butler of /co/ hasn't been as exciting compared with the other bottom 128 tournaments we have held in the past, and part of that is to blame in the bracket pitting some of the better characters way too early, along with the few campaigned picks losing because of people voting randomly. However, I believe Lucifer is one of the most worthy contenders to win a side tournament of this nature, and not just because his chosen poll picture happens to look cool as hell.

The Tragedy of Man is, without exaggeration, a film everyone who is interested in animation as a medium should watch. Adapted from a play by Hungarian author Imre Madách, it follows a very simple premise: God and Lucifer have an argument, the latter stipulating humans will soon aspire to become like their creator - as they were made in his own image - and are fated to fail at it in the process. God then allows him to test humanity, and after being expelled from Eden for eating the forbidden fruit, Adam is guided by Lucifer by putting him in the position of a key historical events through the course of our entire existence. This is where the film's prime advantage over the medium lies: you are never going to see an animated feature that combines so many different pictorical artstyles with as much integrity and as flawlessly as this film does, from Egyptian frescos to French revolution era propaganda. It's an incredibly unique work of art.

Without spoiling much of the experience itself, Lucifer easily is the most enjoyable aspect of the movie (besides the incredible visual work, of course). He is wildly engrossing to watch interact with the rest of the characters even when taking on a less proactive role, the sheer variety of forms he is depicted through the film are all fantastic in their own way, and the Hungarian VA work is great. While perhaps not as sobering at incarnating the most tragic aspects the Devil archetype is nowadays preferred for, like in Paradise Lost or the Divine Comedy, Marcell Jankovics' Lucifer is one of my favorite visions that exist of it, especially where it concerns /co/ particularly.

Marcell Jankovicks was a legendary artist, an animation giant who only did great work after great work, but sadly underappreciated even in his own country. It took almost three decades to get ToM fully finished because of lack of funding, and remains an obscure animation oddity to this day that is often misjudged as pretentious due to its heavy use of symbolism and yet being charged with verbose, operatic dialogue. When Jankovics passed away back in 2021, he only got a single thread that wasn't even made a sticky. Eastern European animation threads in general aren't exactly in a good place, specifically due to association with certain individuals that I'm not going to talk about. It's not like quality discussion can't take place, but it's like fighting an uphill battle when there's a dying interest in animation that doesn't come from the States or Japan.

The Tragedy of Man is available to watch with English subs here, but you can also download it in BluRay quality. I implore you to give it watch, and if you feel like it give Lucifer a vote in the bottom bracket.

It's not it being lower effort that I dislike, it's how it was used. Due to them being videos, they end up being very "Gmod-y" and I feel like that didn't work well for Skeletor. I think that making a scene by posing the characters and taking a screenshot or having the videos use more of the sources of characters, like Skeletor hitting Shaggy with the Mystery Machine, would have worked better than him just shooting a ragdoll on the floor with a gun.

I was actually the guy who started it as a bit of a joke campaign, but I had no idea I was gonna attract the posters who hover between /a/ and /jp/ (my assumption anyway).
Been ages since I saw either but I thought it'd work out to try a "anti-campaigning" playfully. Surprised it turned out like it did and now I feel like rewatching both.

Well another year, another /co/lympics have come and gone. I’m gonna lend you on a little secret, the anon that was campaigning for flip the frog during the qualifiers was in fact yours truly the Kermit poster!(yes I like frogs) I really did enjoy utilizing Kermit in particular this year by doing something a little different with him rather than the swamp banjo theme I’ve always had done in past years and felt that incorporating the muppet show stage theme would make him more versatile, I’ll do it again next year too because it was a blast coming up with channeling henson’s humor and comedy into Kermit facing off at his opponents through the lens of a variety show. As for flip I figured he didn’t get in but at the very least did introduce a few anon’s to his cartoons. Anyway see you all next year! I’ll probably lurk here and there on this board for occasional updates

Mr. /co/ has been on a very good streak for the last few years, and the last one has been no exception. Maybe this could come across as a controversial statement, but I rate this tournament at the same level as Ko/v/ 2021 if not higher, despite losing most of my mains early on, or preferring the 2022 E8 and Zorak as a winner compared to Skeletor. There wasn't a single moment through the course of the event I felt bored out of my mind and nearly every round was a nail-bitter. While there was some poignant drama around boogeymanfagging, falseflags and especially the /v/ tourneys, the campaigns themselves were fantastic and we ended up with a very good selection of characters.

This was a tournament we are definitely going to remember for a very long while, but not for whatever faults it might have had.

What was the motive behind going after Oswald anyway? I know the motive behind Silver was because of how bad Tag-Team was and that the Plunderers complained too much. Someone told me this directly as to why they hated him and it's such a poor reason. Everyone was upset about 2022's Tag-Team following the damage left by the events of the one before, how 2022's started, and the round 3 results added fuel to the fire. Didn't help how suspicious some teams' victories felt. The only reason the Plunderers got brought up so much is because everyone liked them, but there were so many other vocal teams killed in that round while some completely silent teams got easy brackets into E8.

Didn't get the chance to post this in the final afterparty thread before it was archived, so I'll say it here.

Mr. /co/ 2023 was the first tournament I actively campaigned and participated in. During Round 3, I was hit with news that my dog of 16 years passed away. I have never had to deal with the loss of a pet before so it was a real blow to me and the rest of my family. Being able to participate in this tournament, to laugh and roleplay and push for my guy to win, was a great distraction from the sadness I felt. Now that the event is over I've been thinking about my dog more often, the grief is definitely still there but at the very least the shenanigans helped the initial pain of my loss. And things do get easier with time, so thank you all for coming together and making Mr. /co/ 2023 the best it could possibly be.

I agree that outside of tourney meta he’s not really a fitting king. Livesey also wouldn’t have been a good winner over the other choices in E8 this year. But he would have been better than Recette seeing that it was several anon’s campaigning and not a single deceptive mega degenerate.

The funniest thing about the eastern animation spammer was how all his literal who eastern bloc nominations got spitevoted in the bottom tournament, only for the winner to be the one eastern bloc pick he didn't care about.

I voted for him every round, if that makes you feel any better.

As much as it pains me to say this the closest comparison to what you are describing is The Batter. Recette at least has the excuse of being an old /v/ favorite, but OFF was never particularly popular on the board. Popular elsewhere on the web? Sure, but I would never describe it as a /v/ 4chan favorite.

Pretty much hit the mark. I respect the effort and campaign from Batter fans, but Eggman really should’ve won it that year. I would’ve had the same feelings had Hank lost to Livesey.

I think his impact on indie games and inspiration to things like Undertale is worth being celebrated campaign aside. I think he's better than Recette who was an obscure pick that only had oldfag memes and a dedicated drawfag to keep her going.

I did too, I'm fine with voting for him to keep the train rolling. But if he's up against someone I'm actively rooting for, it's not exactly a tough decision.

>tfw I was the one who wanted to use the AI thing to make some funny pics to share and just laugh at them of Jack and Skeletor burying each other
>I get called out about its creepy quality and how it could affect the tournament when it comes to creating OC
>I don't hesitate and stop running the program even making a post apologizing I did not intend to replace the OC with AI
>Someone else starts spamming AI content about Oswald, Shrek and other characters through the rounds, essentially falseflagging as them and trying to take them down
>tfw I realize none of that could have happened if I hadn't brought up the fucking program in first place and because of me Oswald and Shrek got their campaigns tainted.
>Every tournament now including possibly king and queen next are going to be filled with AI pics here and there all because of my actions
I know people can argue that AI would have been dropped by someone else anytime soon without my actions but that doesn't remove the fact I unintentionally gave the falseflaggers a boost with this stupidity of mine. I can't say sorry either because my words aren't going to fix the damage caused by this monster that is going to grow in every tourney now. That's why for Tag-team or any tournament he's allowed in I will support Oswald the best way I can. It's the only way I can get this pain and guilt off my shoulders.

I would know, I was one of his campaigners (personally speaking OFF was very important game during my middle school years). But his run was more of a meta victory around all the OC and the alliance he was part of. I mean, Batter and Livesey aren't bad characters at all, hell I like them and their source material more than some winners and elite eight members. But they lack that *something* that would make them truly fitting champion in the eyes of many. It's an understandable position to have.

Anyway, time to abandon this thread.

Is the issue with the AI stuff the amount of it or just that it exists? I was in and out of the tournament so I only saw glimpses of it, but I was never bothered by it. Maybe it was easier to tune out because I wasn't looking at it all the time, but I never saw it as a threat to actual OC. I'm guessing it's perceived as a slippery slope that leads to that actually happening though.
