Genuine Thread question:

How likely are the chances that Samaritanon intentionally put Silver and Ruber to face off in round 2?

Samaritanon !!0q4n9L7G/iU
Well, everything has finally come to an end. The last Heroes/Villains tournament for this year is over, so let me voice some of my thoughts on these tournaments and their future.

First of all, I want to once again thank everyone who has participated in these tournaments. It really was a special feeling to see my autistic idea for these get traction and result in four full-blown side tourneys where people were having fun. I loved being able to provide an opportunity for different anons' mains and campaigns to shine, especially for those who have trouble even qualifying in the main tournaments. Even with all of my fuck-ups like all the delays and constant small mistakes in the forms, these tournaments still turned out to be a good time for the anons attending them. It's kind of crazy to think how much has already happened this year and we haven't even technically entered the main tourney season yet. I hope this is a sign of things to come for the flourishing future of tournaments.

Now, as some of you noticed, there seems to be a growing divide between the main tournament culture and the /tnt/ culture, at least on /co/. Part of me feels a bit guilty for possibly contributing to this, so I want to make it clear that I was never really trying to make any kind of statement regarding tournament culture. I simply wanted to have tournaments for heroes and villains. And in the end, no matter what, I think it was all worth it.

Now, what is next? As you've seen in the results, the majority wants the Heroes and Villains tournaments to continue. I'm glad you enjoyed them so much and I would love for these to happen again... But not necessarily the way they were held this year. Having four of these in the span of a few months every year would eventually grow stale and turn this into bland mini-versions of the main tournaments. Not to mention that having so many in rapid succession is tiring for both me and the tourney audience, as we've seen by decreased activity in this one. Plus it would be nice to leave more space for other potential side tourneys. So while I want to hold another edition of these in the future, I'm going to think about some ways to diversify the format. Some anons in the feedback form made some interesting suggestions:

>While I voted for them to be a one-time thing, I think they should come back but not every year or have only a single pair per year (Heroes one year, Villains another). It means not having four tourneys in a row, which is exhausting to some and also leaves space for something like /cov/.
>I think, though the tournaments are fun and great, that there needs to be some kind of measure to prevent burnout. Maybe having a single tournament per board instead of having two. With different themes each time, maybe?

So far I'm leaning towards the single tournament per board idea, but I'll be considering both among the other ideas. As always, I'm open to suggestions on how these could be modified to be more feasible in the future.

Anyway, I don't like planning for a whole year ahead. Pretty much anything can happen in that time. For the time being, I think I've had my fair share of hosting. I might come back to help for /cov/, but aside from that, I think this is it for me this year. We'll see how things play out in the future. In that time, take care and have fun in the main tourneys.

That's fair. I didn't do it after finals this time because of the four movies I streamed for this, so it would've lasted until the early morning for me, but I'll keep that in mind for Mr. /co/ and /cov/ since I want to try it for those two as well. I thought about doing a smaller stream for the two finalists tonight but I imagine people are tired right now and wouldn't be interested.

I remember someone made an idea involving mixing both /co/ and /v/ for each two tournaments.

It's sounds like a good idea, but I think it'll create some imbalance between the two which would result in intense backlash from anons of these boards.

I don't know myself, but I guess would shouldn't worry much by this point.

No, you won't. Doom has already used the power of the Infinity Gauntlet to disintegrate your bombs, even if it cost him a Doombot. You've had your chance to face Doom in battle like Ruber, Thanos and others, and missed it. Now accept this and calm down while Doom is in a good mood. Doom will not tolerate any amateur terrorists in his tournament.

It still feels surreal to have my main actually win. I'm biased obviously, but I honestly think Doom was the best possible winner for a villains tournament like this.

for what purpose? These were fine as an experiment & test of Samaritanon's hosting abilities and nothing more. These were fun sure and I like the idea of a "minor" /co/ and /v/ tourney for their mainline counterparts (like how NASCAR's Talladega is the big event but there are several smaller races held throughout the year) but I don't think these in particular should be recurring.

I have a suggestion on how to have only two tourneys instead of four. There are two ways this could be done:

First way is to have what I call Good /v/s Evil for /v/, and /co/od vs. Evil for /co/. How this works is that the top 64 heroes and top 64 villains each get their own poll. An additional true final round is added so the winning hero and winning villain duke it out.

The second way is to have Heroes and Villains from all of entertainment allowed in their respective tournaments. Heroes from all over /a/, /co/, /tv/ and /v/, and Villains from all over as well.

Either way would not only make them much more vocal, but would also decrease burnout ten-fold.

I wanted to make a list of teams I wanted to nominate, but I have three /co/ mains that needed /v/ partners; I also have one more that I'm currently trying to choose between three /v/ characters.

>Stacey Mcgill

Boy-crazy babysitter and fashionista who is good at math; she is also diabetic.

>Aisling

An Irish fairy/goddess who lives in and protects a forest with her pack of wolves; she can also turn into one.

>Tigger

A fun-loving tiger who can bounce with his springy tail. He is pretty narcissistic and egoistical, but friendly; he is also quite sarcastic.

>Claudia Kishi (For this one, I need to choose one of the characters from image)

She is an artistic babysitter who sucks at doing school work. She likes to eat junk food.

Nice team name, though I already came up with one myself: Young Fine Artists.

For Heroes, Shou, Hugh, and Daredevil. For Villains, Farquaad, Hades, and CIA.

Not really sure for Heroes. I guess Hugh but Shou was a good opponent to lose to. As for Villains, I wish Cobra Commander could've qualified and that Hades was in Elite Eight over Ruber.

Dr doom had a pretty good one overall by absolutely roasting each and everyone one of his foes because in the end he was right. His match against voltor was a highlight. Farquadd’s campaign was basically a feature length version of the campaign he had back in mr /co/ 2022 but it was without a doubt my favorite matches involving him were Against Lex and back to doom, I’m convinced that mugen OC is what ultimately won his match(and last minute too). I had fun with both and I cannot wait to see what mr and ms /co/lympus have in store this year

Can we talk about our rankings in a little more detail? I'm actually surprised at how many people voted for Heroes of /v/ for 1st place. I though I was the only one who saw it that way. I think it did have the most charm to it out of Heroes and Villains tourneys, as it was the most sporadic and natural-feeling one, and still a relatively new format so everyone was trying to figure it out and just see what they could do and how far their mains could go. Villains of /v/ is a close second, I might switch them at some point. It wasn't as sporadic and was closer to main tournaments, but a ton of fun nonetheless and the most overall activity.

Co-Op was great and paved the way for the rest, but I honestly think the team format for both it and Tag-Team is a bit of a crutch and a lot of times it's just one of the two carrying the team.

The /co/ tournaments aren't nearly as close as /v/ ones, here I can clearly say Heroes was better and more active even if I enjoy the Villains winner more. Heroes was consistently fun with a bunch of diverse campaigns and all the jokes about the sleeping characters. Villains had its moments but was dragging its feet a lot of the time due to lower activity. I wonder how the /co/ and /v/ tourneys would go if their order was flipped like originally planned.

The /an/ tourney was a cool concept, comfy in its own right and I hope we do it again, but the crow winning will never not be baffling to me.

Tag-Team is self-explanatory.

I agree with you on Heroes of /v/. I thought it was the most fun and had the best Elite Eight. Villains of /v/ was also good and definitely had the better matches, with stuff like Louie vs. King Boo vs. Bernkastel, Erika vs. Canbine, and the KKK Three-Way, but I didn't find it as enjoyable as Heroes.

Co-op was really good, but I hope if there's a next time that there's less teams where one character is doing all the work. I also think the winners are just whatever and that 2nd-6th place would've made for better winners.

Heroes and Villains of /co/ are about equal for me. I like the results and Elite Eight for Villains a lot more, but thread-wise Heroes was better. Villains being the fourth tournament in a three-month period and so close to Ms. /co/ was its downfall, as I imagine with more active threads that it would've been better than Heroes.

/an/lympics was fun and comfy, and I hope there's another one. Wasn't there for Tag-Team or /aco/ so I won't give my thoughts on them.

I consider Heroes and Villains of /v/ pretty much equal, but I prefer a lot of the characters I nominated for Heroes more than Villains. However, if these have to come back, it shouldn't be every year.
Co-op comes very close second as I still enjoyed the other two a bit more; I liked the break, it was fun to do stuff before it truly starting. I'm looking forward to the next one.
This tourney was a calm but very cozy way to finish the quartet of tournaments. I didn't get to do much, having only three characters qualify and all lost Round 1, but I still did some things afterwards. Mostly musicposting, but I like doing that, I did more of that here which may be why I prefer this one.
Ms. /aco/ catch-up thingy tourney's winner being the Banned Queen is funny, 10/10 would get banned again.
Heroes of /co/ was fine, but I didn't enjoy it as much, probably due to not having done much. The qualifying was certainly rougher for the /co/ tourneys, characters required many more votes to enter; this is another reason why I think the /v/ ones were much better.
/an/ is self-explanatory, plants should've won.

I wanna share a very interesting fact I've seen all over 4chan.
These couple of days Ruberposting has been really fucking rampant on essentially every board these couple of days.
The posts that had Ruber in the OP were posted in these boards:
>/co/
>/v/
>/fit/
>/b/
Mentioned:
>/tg/
>/a/
>/lit/
>/tv/
>/gif/
These are from my very own observation (and from my only boards I browse) and it really got me surprised because I know this isn't information bias, I always loved Ruber and would always enter a thread and engage discussion in it but this is the first time I've seen Ruberposting be this rampant since 2018.
