I just came to the late realization that these tournaments are turbo rigged. Like Google Docs was not made to run anonymous character tournaments. It dosen't matter how much data you use to check if something is rigged, people can adapt to these things, like voting a shit load of characters in the first 10 minutes with a bot, or just have the bit vote a random set of characters every 5 minutes and the host would have no idea.

I can see being surprised if you weren't paying attention to her or just dismissing her outright, but Gwenpool has qualified every year while X-Girls have not. Harley Quinn is fairly controversial and no one really goes out of their way to show their support for her, and Wonder Woman is less controversial but gets by on iconography and has consistently seeded dozens of places below Gwenpool.

Of the characters you mention, only Harley is statistically stronger than Gwen, not that that's an assurance of victory with even stronger characters than Harley still waiting on their wins. Harley wasn't particularly strong herself this year, seeding 25 below Gwen.

For Gwen's part, she has consistently made it a few rounds in every year except 2023 (you know, Wuya's year), when she got knocked out Round 1. The years after that she bowed out in Rounds 4 and 3 to Tyr'ahnee and Raven, who aren't exactly slouches, so she was kind of already due for E8 aside from getting roadblocked by known powerhouses.

All this is to say that, yes, these things are rigged but, no, what you're suggesting is evidence really isn't. Looking at actual, long-term numbers, Gwenpool winning in lieu of those others you mentioned is not in itself evidence of rigging. There might be other things you could point to, but not that. Your assumption is based on the idea that there are some characters that "should" win over others regardless of how they actually perform. You could speculate that rigging has rendered every single performance statistic radically wrong, but there are no actual "correct" statistics to compare to. We got what we got.

Hank's chance may have really been 2021, don't feel like he's ever getting that close again now. Jack's may have been 2018 when it was still hot off season 5 and he felt like a super hype obvious pick to crown as THE champ. The reboot might do more damage than the Better Man retard(s). One is the actual source material, and the other is very transparently puppeteering a character for bad faith funposting. It would just take a modicum of real support to drown out. And for the reboot, /co/ tends to mentally separate characters/stories and the people writing them, so if a character is good but their show/comic goes to shit, we tend to blame the writers rather than the characters except in cases where the character itself gets radically changed, like Harley Quinn.

Looking at a character like HW, even her fans revile her show, but single her out as a highlight for a variety of reasons. Not only as a capable character with agency of her own but as a loyal companion to another character they probably like, Finn, who a lot of former AT fans feel has been abused by the writers while remaining generally likable himself. So if Hank has remained functionally the same but his show is pozzed now or whatever, he's probably fine. We'll remember when shit was good and say he's currently being held hostage by gay writers.
