We REALLY need to change the way Grandfather clauses work at least on /co/. The original intention behind the rule was to let a few 2018 fringe cases like Eggman stay in. But people keep abusing it to sneak into characters who don't qualify and then scream Grandfather Clause to stop the hosts from disqualifying them and allowing them to go into future tournaments.

The /v/ literature discussion is it's own mess, between AM and Witcher and NSA's whitelist I don't want to get into it. I'm talking about /co/, which had a pretty well intentioned grandfather clause that worked fine for years until people started abusing it via a loophole.

Propane was never eligible NSA was just being an ass letting it in because she's a POS, so remove it. Lady whatshername was just Meg in a costume, so remove her. Betelguese lied about being grandfathered from 2018, so remove him. Change the phrasing to what was actually intended (2018 contenders can qualify regardless of rule changes later) and all the weird cases go away except for Marco.

Epic. Gordon has been overdue after his performance in Her/v/oes and the other Freeman is absolutely a literal who, but a welcome one. Nice to see a non-English character with actual passion behind it instead of Augie Sperging. That guy doesn't even do anything with the picks that do get in, why nominate them in the first place?
That being said, yeah no way they're winner material. I wouldn't be upset if they take it but Mr. Freeman is just too obscure for Gordon to continue pushing without attracting weird looks.

But flash cartoons, and Madness Combat in particular, finally getting some action in tournaments is badass enough for me to stomach my grievances. Hank's run in Barred 2024 was a real highlight and their work in Tag-Team 2025 was just as tasty. Should've been Tricky though. OMFG BANGBANGGOOBERBLAT!!!1!

One of the worst Elite Eights I've seen. Strange line-up with almost every team here very obviously carried by a stronger team. Barely any of these feel like worthwhile pairings, instead coming off more like niche oddities that shouldn't have lasted past a couple rounds under normal circumstances.

No Regrets is great. I hope they end up winning out of this line-up. Still won't beat the first two in terms of strong pairings, but would still be the best left.
