It shouldn't, since "Dexter" is just Ash's Pokédex from the anime. If I remember, it does have the ability to converse and not just read out dex entries, but it still is hardely a character.
A Pokédex that is from the games and is actually a character would be the Rotom Dex, from Sun & Moon. I'm not sure how well it and the funny slab would work, but I guess it would be kinda funny.

Yes it's over for Grade 9 fixer it seems. Hood thing I won't play gacha and his ending is the official ending for me.

To add to this, a character that would work well with him could a character that also hates humanity in some way, and/or even tortures them too. No character comes to my mind that would fit well for this, as the one I can think of is not only human, but doesn't go to the lengths of AM.
Another type of character that I see working with him is a (human) character that everyone hates, either in the game, the players or both. For something like this, I can think of Preston Garvey, from Fallout 4. Not only is he often said to be disliked by players, but his world and AM's are similar in a way, that being that they were both nuked.

Or we could just pair AM with Claptrap, "The Hateful and the Hated".

After looking him up, he does fit that description perfectly. He would be a good character to pair with AM.

Kind of a massive spoiler, but here we go.
He starts off as a basic silent JRPG Hero who gets wed off to a Princess after beating his Wizard friend in a tournament, but then the Primcess gets kidnapped by the Demon King. Then after some stuff happens, it turns out the Wizard friend always hated him and so uses illusion magic to make Oersted commit regicide and become the scapegoat of everyone's problems. His Priest friend ends up sacrificing himself and tells him that as long as someone believes in him, he can continue. So of course, the last person Oersted hoped would believe in him, the Princess, got rescued by the Wizard (who pretended to be dead) and was also turned against him. With literally everyone he cares about dead or hating him, Oersted decides to just become the Demon King, taking the name Odio (literally meaning Hate) and genocides the entire kingdom before stuffing all their souls into a torture(?) dungeon. Also, depending on the ending he can either kill all of humanity across time or just destroy everything.

On the other hand, he can (depending on the ending) do way more damage and his hatred seems to be magical in some way.

I had an idea like this a while back too, but now I think the anti-tournaments would be a bit too depressing with everyone wallowing in their own hate for certain characters. Plus making it a one-off would inevitably date it (for example, if you ran it now, Velma would easily win it).

Pepsiman was always allowed in so I don't see why he'd be banned from co-op. He also wasn't included on the first whitelist at the end of Queen last year but still qualified for King. As for the Emperor, he got in because of the three non-vidya rule, so unless the hosts bring that rule over, he won't be allowed in for co-op.
