I asked a hypothetical last year where if we had confirmed proof of rigging(like the rigger bragging and showing the receipts) if the hosts would be willing to step in and reset the round and get past the NSA era fear of doing that.

We have the answer now. No. No they will not reset a round to fix a mistake. Even fucking Tag Team 2021 did a reset at one point, Playgirl did. Combine with with the heinous spam of disgusting shit and this may be our worst tournament yet

For all the issues the email fiasco caused, this Queen is turning out more conventional this time at least results wise. Can see the same with King after its last Elite Eight felt a little off.

You know, I'd be 100% secure with randomized brackets if the randomized brackets were made with a random seed number (not contestant seeds). Back then, NSA was handpicking them. I think now there's a random number generator to make the brackets, but those can be manipulated as well if the hosts handpick a number that generates a favorable bracket.
Basically, what I'm going for is this:
>Tournament with 128 contestants is set
>each contestant from 1-128 get a random place in a generated bracket, which itself is determined by a random number
>that random number is the OP post of the first Qualifiers or Nominations thread
I think it would be the most transparent method for randomized brackets and quash accusations of host fixed matches for good.

>I've spoken to NSA a couple times over the years, and seeing his name no longer in the OP I'm guessing he most likely retired. From what I can tell, although I never voted in these threads, he seems like a good guy and he absolutely took the contest's integrity seriously.

>For quite a few years, yes, there has been interest in implementing /v/GA site code for King/Queen of /v/. Anyone is able to do this. Our codebase is free and open source and the organizers are absolutely welcome to incorporate our code into their project. However, there is a major obstacle that's been holding it back: actually implementing our code requires knowledge of backend web development and we are unable to volunteer our staff to other projects.

>I also suggested OpaVote as an alternative (which I see was brought up in the earlier /v/ threads, along with alternatives). This removes the web development requirement and can implement alternate voting similar to our project, but they cost money and there are a few flaws in its anti-rigging measures.

When I read what went down with NSA I reached the conclusion that she probably wasn't actively stuffing ballots but buying into campaign hype. When the results weren't matching what *she* thought they should be, she got paranoid and started seeing patterns that weren't there but supported her delusions. That's why she never made that pastebin, her entire process was just "trust me bro I'm totally right".

Take it with a massive fistful of salt, as they're notoriously rigged to hell and back. Signalis, Pathologic, Xenosaga, Fatal Frame, Dragon Quest all got rigged one year or another. If you remove one-chart-only games like Pathologic and take the average of the rest you should get pretty accurate results (minus Deus Ex/Zelda placements, as these often compete for the top spot with rigging)

I'm still in the boat that NSA never directly tampered with votes, but definitely was still shady in other ways. Ms. /co/ 2023 specifically felt like it was engineered in several ways to benefit her desired outcome, and then there was the losers finals BS where she just so happened to find a way to pit Amaterasu against a pick she was drawing for throughout the tournament.

NSA didn't draw for SHODAN until the Losers Finals though, her main was Bayonetta, and even then it was pretty obvious she never played System Shock she just wanted to bandwagon onto SHODAN's losers bracket hype campaign (either that or just to get back at the "seething ammyfags")

She might not have ever crossed the point of what she considered cheating, but this is the woman who suggested tying results to campaigns at one point. Velma beating HER Wuya? Has to be rigged, so she'll just delete the ones not voting for campaign picks who must obviously be rigged until her Wuya wins like she was supposed to. Same thing probably happened to Toph and Raven.

Most of the rounds probably weren't super rigged, Wuya and Eris had easy R1s, and by the time of R3 thanks to NSA's campaigning a lot of people got astroturfed into backing them. I'm convinced Velma would have beaten Wuya in R2 without NSA, then the wins were technically legit until Raven and Toph both got screwed out. (Especially bad for Toph as by the time the rematch happened Raven had surged and she had slumped).

That's ignoring the fact she probably stacked the bracket in the first place, and her email rules crashed turnout which made everything way easier for her to do. And while she might not have had a shit load, she absolutely had 5-10 alts let's be real. You don't get that autistic on that many websites without a couple google accounts.

I have been involved with these tournaments for years, and watched them slowly devolve into what they are now: endless arguments about rules, constant off-topic funposts, and fucking CSAM. It feels like the soul of these tournaments is gone. The creative energy that once produced something like the Ko/v/ 2021 finals is dead. All that remains now is the same uninspired, uncreative posts that flood every board.

What killed it? A lot of things:

NightShiftAnon's entire career as a host, the constantly changing rules that are never properly enforced, Recette winning queen, and the allegations of Grimm getting rigged since round 4. It has all led people to treat these tournaments as a joke. The idea of a popularity contest that encourages the creation of art and literal larping probably seems retarded to many anons. All this bullshit has only made the tournaments even less credible. /tnt/ itself has made it easy for funposters to track when and where tournaments start, resulting in them flooding threads for their own amusement.
Nothing anyone can do will return us to the olden days. You could revamp the rules perfectly and replace Google Docs with a better system, but it won't matter. The entire reputation of these events is fucked. People either see them as an excuse to funpost, or they cannot stand them because of the funposters they attract. That is probably why, despite all the talk about starting new tournaments, they never actually appear. Remember what happened when people attempted to start a /a/ or /tv/ tournament? They fell apart either because of host retardation or because anons actively tried to get the threads banned. It's so very clear how most people feel about these things, and it's why they'll continue to spam these threads with garbage.
But it doesn't shock me that these tournaments ended up going to shit. 4chan itself is a shell of its former self: A rotting corpse being kept alive by faggots, bots, oldfag jannies who refuse to move on, and a money-hungry chink that shows no love for the site. Anything that comes out of 4chan these days ends up going to shit, so it was only inevitable that the same would happen to these tournaments, and it's a shame.

While it's small, Tron only getting added to the map after winning is a first in King or Queen I think? It's not to say she doesn't deserve it, there just wasn't as much energy compared to Etna who both was one of the first added and has a duplicate. Compared to finals in 24 with Ayla's video oc and 23 with Curly's having a flash game boss fight with Ammy dropped, it was a bit underwhelming. She's not a bad queen and she won fair and square, but the anticlimax is real. I'm glad for Tronbros for getting their girl in, hopefully the thread calms down after having slept on it so they can have a few actually nice afterparty threads.

I personally found last year's Top 8 a lot worse, mostly based on Hex but also based on really not caring for most of the rest of the Top 8, Ayla included (who I view unfavorably on account of her trip to Top 8 seeming to largely be a fluke run derived from spitevoting, but w/e).

But yeah, whether you prefer 2024 or 2025 is dependent on whether you think a tournament is more ruined by a bad middle with a good ending, or a bad start, a good middle and a meh ending. And I personally find 2024 to have overall been the less pleasant experience.

>Gardevoir
meh. She was getting a lot of shit, particularly for Hexfag too.
>Roll
Huge spite target and split the mega man vote in her favor cause people went with the more dimensional pick.
However had she faced either Gardevoir or Roll in the first three rounds she may have lost.

My feelings are Tron was voted for against her opponent more often than being supported herself, and that's why the afterparty threads never rallied around her and went straight from seethe to discussing King. Not even spitevoting btw, could be people voting for boobs rather than flatties or liking Megaman more than Pokemon or Disgaea. I'm not saying Tron had no supporters, but that would explain them being drowned out and the winner barely having a presence in her own afterparty threads compared to Midna, Curly, and Mado.

mating press isn't about cooming, it's about consensual lovemaking with maximum chance at impregnation.

there's a difference.

The Afterparty threads got drones because everyone was expecting Etna to win and she was THE "hype campooner" pick.

not sure how it was in previous years, since this was the first one i actively participated in until the end, but the threads were filled with so much cope and shitflinging that they weren't fun to be in. it's not as fun to celebrate when the thread quickly turned into arguments about whether or not tron deserved to win (and a lot that were arguing in bad faith). i thought the competition was pretty friendly up until that point and i enjoyed the rivalry with etna supporters. i've always seen love for tron over the years on /v/, so her win wasn't surprising for me.

>about whether or not tron deserved to win
This is dumb. She earned it, and it sucks that she didn't get a proper send of. But I think she'll age better with time. Tron Bonne's 'scandal' is that her run wasn't as cool or bombastic as it could have been. Compared to the Loser's Bracket/Ammy muzzle stuff in 2023 and everything after round 3 in Queen 2024, Tron in Queen this year had a good run.

I would say the bigger issue was the spite perception and how narrow the win was. The group of people that came out basically just looking like they wanted to fuck over Etna or loli’s or whatever tainted the afterparty as much as the people just disappointed.

There will always be genuinely unhinged psychopaths on the internet, someone trying to expose innocent people to CP because a 4chan popularity contest isn’t going to their liking isn’t surprising.

Just for context the Tag Team 2021 page absolutely roasts the tournament as a disaster, there's no rule saying you have to polish things up or not talk about things going bad

How is 5th-8th consolation match scored and what's the final score for ammy/may/gardevoir/aigis? It's hard to search for it
