Figured as such, like 50 monkeys on espresso they are just going wild voting for “sexy ladies”, while all the other competitors are losing. Now people are complaining again, just as I had predicted earlier for being booted out from the competition. Like I’ve said, bad things seem to happen to those who don’t drink or vote Wilkins, you either hop on the bandwagon or you just don’t go.

This is probably the most annoyed I've been with /co/ tournament results pre-elite eight yet. While most of the teams had little to no campaigning and hype, the ones that did (The Plunderers and the Assholish Adult Swim Duo with their great RP and campaigning spanning years or the smaller teams that were actively trying to make a name for themselves this year like the Annoying Sidekicks and the Resurgence) all losing in one round is kind of bad. I don't have anything actively against the teams that won and I made some misjudgements with my votes at times (I voted for Roasting Balcony Bros over the Resurgence despite not a single bit of campaigning for Roasting Balcony Bros) and I do like some of the teams that progressed. Specifically, I like Goof Troop. After the meme in Round 1 where Max serves the Pickles Brothers, I watched both the first and second Goofy movies for the first time in years and enjoyed them and I do think it's about time we have a father son duo win one of these. I still feel like Goof Troop voters could do more to participate in the threads as that Round 1 meme was the most they have done. The fact we might have an elite eight with 5 teams that have not had a single support post is ridiculous. I know we're on a smaller site, but that didn't stop the previous tag teams having more activity than this. I know silent majority and all that, but I don't recall it ever getting this bad.

>There were campaigns before the switch?
Several. Quiet characters probably lost their campaigners during the switch.
>I just have a hard time imagining their victory being seen as anything but underwhelming, kind of like Tom's.
Tom's win was underwhelming? It was one of the most deserved besides Bravo. You are entirely dismissing the existence of the original material and only focusing on tourney fanfics, both should be taken into consideration in a healthy balance. Plus I remember he got OC and porn and that exceptionally high quality Christmas pic with Eris.
>Why is it preferable to characters in a tourney to have presence in tourney threads? Is this a rhetorical question?
I can see where you're coming from, but you make it seem more like a requirement than preference by calling shenanigans just because some characters doing well don't have roleplayers. It's still a popularity contest at the end of the day and silent maj gonna silent, regardless of what happens in here. That doesn't mean there was a grand conspiracy to spiterig Town Punching Bags out.

Arguably silent majority picks don't have to do anything. No one needs to remind them that they're there and one will question how they got there because they're generally popular to begin with. The characters who need OC the most are at the same time the ones most likely to get knocked out. It's just the nature of the game. Sometimes campaigns take years to pay off. On a certain level you just have to make OC for the love of making OC, because odds are in the short term your character will lose. It's always disappointing to lose, but no one should be getting frustrated over it.

To an extent this is true, but even in a hypothetical scenario where your silent majority pick manages to win with little campaigning and without a single piece of OC, they're likely to cause massive disappointment and get a shit reputation from everyone frabbergasted with such an outcome. Which might not matter that much for the main tournaments, since they already won and stuff, but I imagine winning tag-team without a campaign is a great way to gain detractors who will spitevote your pick out in the main tourneys.

That's possible, although in the long run that might work out to the OC makers' favor. It really is a long game when it comes to OC, outside of exceptional freaks of nature like Fang. Yeah campaign as hard as you can this year, but also campaign to make people nostalgic for this campaign next year. That might have possibly been part of what paid off for Zorak, among other factors.

At first, being here was fine. I miss 2020. It was good. Extremely autistic, but good. The OC was still scarce, but the huge RP going on and the fact you could tell people were genuinely hyped made up for it. I don't know what else can happen this year. There's really no possible matchups being hyped up, we lost all the teams that made 2020 great already, we lost basically all the teams people actually cared about in general, the RP died because of the host reveals in 2021, and there's nothing to meme. The tournament also has a weird feel to it. It not only doesn't feel like it belongs with previous Tag Teams, it doesn't even feel like it belongs with any /co/ tournaments. One thing I noticed that makes light of this is every previous Tag Team Tournament had at least one returning team from a previous year's elite eight. 2019 (I'm aware it goes by elite 4 that year) and 2020 had Cracking Cheese Lovers. 2019 and 2021 had Bertstrips (of course there was the rigging so how true it is they would have gotten that far is unknown). There is not a single former elite eight team still in the running. Some would say that's a good thing because of fresh faces, but it just shows a disconnect. The only other time this has happened where it was possible is in Ms. /co/ 2021 which was a nightmare of spitevotes, a /v/ character, and pity votes. Even then, a lot of people still showed support for that elite eight and made their voices heard. Chaosposting is a good example. This disconnected feel in Tag Team 2022 might come from how much we interlope with /v/ this year and the /trash/ threads where they talked about raiding us. I don't know what actually happened though. All I know is this has been the worst round without rigging drama in tournament history yet. I hope this isn't a sign for things to come for Ms. and Mr. this year.

Half the problem is we clearly crossed a size threshold. /co/ is big enough even the most dedicated riggers couldn’t swing some matchups, while here it’s easy.

The other half is arguably 3 of the biggest RPers were forced out. Temp was Dan and Wilkins, Tourney was Chris, and Domino was Alastor.

That combined with general entropy, we really only have the expats from 2020 and fewer and fewer return each year.

At the rate we’re going unless we get back on /co/ or something major happens it’ll be dead within a year

I think the massive drop offs in activity on the thread and the blatant unchallenged rigging just shows that Tag Team is dead as a tournament over here. We’re slowly losing people overtime simply because there isn’t much to do over here and we’re not on /co/, most of the people here in 2020 lost interest. The multiple crisis last year and this year scared more people away, we lost 3 active RPers, it’s a wash at this point.

I’d personally just cancel it unless Psyanon or NSA or even fucking TempAnon can get approval from mods to go on /co/ again(and ONLY with approval otherwise we risk taking the others down with us). At least there there’s enough people to offset riggers and produce a decent bit of art.

I think the tournament would have gone great had it not been for what the mods did. Before the new hosts stepped up, a lot of rpers here gave up, combined with the fact the thread that was moved on trash, it lasted many hours up before it could get archived which probably caught the eyes of the lurkers there. If Coayynon and Samaritanon try again for TT 2023 and instead of pestering the mods actually make hype threads in /co/ we could get those recognizable faces back. Also the /trash/fags don't know what date TT is held anyway.

Reminder that 2021 and 2022 ONLY happened because Tempanon forced it by just declaring “I’m hosting it it’s beginning now”, and both times bailed out leading others to have to host (2021 obviously so bad he got to rehost, so far this is better)
Realistically this needs to not happen after this and if Temp isn’t going to be forcing it anymore then it should be over with after this year. Though I know one day will try forcing it again thinking they’ll bring back the magic of 2020

The Plunderers losing is a direct consequence of the tournament being so slow and boring up until this point. Maybe they could've had a great campign had we remained on /co/ and had a lot of activity and people playing off of them and each other, but as it is I agree with >>19795. I voted for Tyrahnee and Mirage and didn't feel bad because, even though everyone is treating the Plunderers like they're owed a victory, they pretty much only had a handful of posts in each thread and very little to rememeber them by this year. The silent majority can be annoying, but people have already brought up several times how dead the whole thing is in previous rounds, and were dismissed as "eeeh it's just /tnt/ and it's comfier this way :)" Where did all that talk about comfiness go once your main lost lol? I’m glad the plunderers lost. Any fanbase that feels they are owed a win deserves to lose, it’s why I will always root against Chel is Ms until her fans actually start contributing. And the only reason /tnt/ likes them is because one regular here likes to avatarfag as John silver. I will never hold this tournament as having the same weight as the rest, as this place has 200 votes, and that includes alts, winning a competition simply because the community is more niche doesn’t feel right. Mr, Ms, King and Queen and boardwide events, winning them means something, this is just a bunch of autismos circlejerking, and I’m glad the circlejerked characters lost because it woke some of you guys up.
Seriously, if you believe that a certain team that only has a chance because of the fact that it’s on /tnt/ and is only liked because of avatarfags is OWED a win, then they deserve to lose

Honestly I'm moreso mad at how the strange set of events during nominations was basically for naught. It gave us such an odd 128 with several nicher characters who've never made it into a tournament taking the places of missing high hitters like Samurai Jack, Heat Misers and Raven. It's like if KO/v/ somehow forgot to nominate Snake, Link and several TF2 mercenaries. But due to the host insisting on not using randomized brackets for some reason meant this was all basically for nothing other then the top dogs getting a free pass.

Again, it's not the same this tournament. Even among the seethe in previous tournaments, there was still noticable excitement, hype for possible matchups, and some of the more active campaigners still made it up to Elite Eight. The seethe also wasn't the only thing people talked about. I remember all the seethe that happened in Mr. /co/ 2020 Elite Eight and Ms. /co/ 2021 elite eight. Among it all, in Mr. /co/ 2020, we had hype for a Tom vs. Daffy match, Wallaceposters, and people wanting to pair WALL-E with Eve. In Ms. /co/ 2021, we had Chaosposting, people wanting to do it for Muriel's voice actor, and heels with Miss Pauling and Johanna. What do we have this round besides the seethe? The Gwen/Loona rper (no offense, it's just this thread is dead and you are giving us pretty much the only consistent on-topic non-seethe posts)? The best comparison for this thread is honestly threads after rigging drama. I'm not saying this round is rigged, I'm saying this round is so bad that we are about as mad as if it were because the drama is overshadowing the actual event (even then, we still had the big rpers in Tag Team 2021 and Fang gang and Shirley as a heel. All there is is the drama this round.

Something to point is how y’all forget this isn’t even a main event. This the tag-teams, it isn’t even meant to be the definitive tourney more so just fucking around. That's cute considering he's one of the most iconic video game characters, to the point people who haven't touched a Megaten game know who he is. It's not surprising he made it that far without much campaigning; it's the natural result of being Atlus's mascot for 30 years.

Hello everyone, we're now on the 4th round and things are getting even more crazy by this point.

At Match 2, It's My Horse hopped their way towards their opponents, ready to give them the dance of pain. However, it appears that Livesey has a groove of his very own as he dishes out a swaggering barrage of jabs at Rolf. Amelia on the other hand, make quick leaps over Ed as he tries to hit her, but he is then greeted with a kick in the face. It's My Horse is facing a major battle here, and they better get back in rhythm or they'll have a new title called "It's My Defeat".

At Match 4, the Worlds Finest are not having a great time here as they struggle to fight against the father-son duo. Max steals the show as he pull out his awesome dance moves on Batman. The Cape Crusader tries to hit this kid with his batarang, but his excellect footwork evades them with no problem. Goofy pulls out a deja-vu on us as he jumps and hitches a ride on Superman's back while the Kryptonian flies around to get him off; Goofy's in control now.

At Match 6, Mirage summons her illusions to confuse Scratch and get the advantage. Unfortunately for her, he is prepared for this and throws a handful of bombs at them, including the real one. He then shoots a series of lasers at her from his fingers as she struggles to fight back. Grounder also has this battle in the bag as he digs underground to avoid Queen Tyr'ahnee's attack. She is unable to catch him and get hit by the robot's missiles each time he pops up.

At Match 7, the Giant Localizer are gonna need more ammos for this fight as the Renagades successfully dodges their projectiles by teleporting themselves at various spots. ENA manages to confuse Rogard and Mansely as she gives them a few punches and kicks around the soldiers, while Xavier easily destroys their tanks with little difficulty. Are the Giant Localizer finally losing this war?

It's insane here I tell ya but have a few minutes let, so vote quickly as you can!
