When you say Zoomer show, do you mean as in from the show's birthdate or as in 'made by zoomers'
No.139236

Because TADC is neither. Gooseworx was born in 1994 which is safely Millenial(Zillenial depending on your definition is anywhere from 1995-2000 to 2000-2004. Z starts around 2000 though the exact year varies, the guy who invented the term set it at 2004. newer counts put it closer to 1999 or 2000). Zoomer's exact end date varies too, I've seen it as early as 2010 and as late as 2015, but TADC is safely in Generation Alpha/Gen α.

So it's not a Zoomer show by either definition. It's a Gen Alpha show made by a Gen Y Millenial

I think the term is most used as “zoomer in spirit,” and targeted to a zoomer audience, kind of defining the gist of what zoomers watch. It’s why Primal despite premiering in the zoomer era is really more of a 2000’s kind of series the board likes most. I would say what’s usually thought of as zoomer era stuff starts from AT in 2010 onward to very recently in a certain vein of humor and style and fandom. TADC might be about unfair to call zoomer, I think it’s possibly very early alpha. Or perhaps best termed “zalpha.”

My favorite general is a hellscape right now under almost identical circumstances, but worse
>Love board games general, been favorite 4chan general for 2+ years
>Is a pretty slow general, since /tg/ is just the DnD and WH40K board
>there's some schizo with a persistent hateboner for war boardgames, which is an enormous genre and has a lot of overlap with other genres
>Particularly, if anybody DARES to mention games by a well-known publisher called "GMT" he'll freak the fuck out and call people "GMTrannies"
>Someone completely unrelated to /bgg/ makes a wargame general because they had a couple of wargame threads on /tg/
>GMTranny schizo uses this as leverage to make OPs telling people wargame discussion isn't allowed on /bgg/ when it is and always has been
>They're also shit OPs. They use /tv/ images for the OP and not board game images, leaves out a bunch of the usual info, have lousy thread headers
>I try making a normal thread with the old formatting that allowed any board game genre
>he beat me by a couple of minutes, didn't even link his shitty thread to the general so people can migrate
>his thread is just people calling him a fag and to kill himself
>my thread that had the actual formatting and a migration link is deleted by janitors

This is a joke post but can TLW really stand the test of time? The three reps from that movie were early exits compared to Shrek and Farquaad. >>139472
I don't think it would be DMC. Dante was the best it got, and Vergil has been suffering ever since his brother retired. It's still one of the more likely options, but I wouldn't count on it.

Metal Gear is definitely the safest bet for a second winner. A second Touhou win isn't impossible, though hard. Zelda could pull off a surprise second win even if it does suffer from the main two male qualifiers being way too silent. Final Fantasy could on paper as well, though it might have too much baggage.

As for the rest? Metroid does have other picks, but it's hard to imagine any actually winning bar a true breakout campaign. Curly was by far the best Cave Story pick, Batter had the best odds of anyone from OFF, and Recette was the only actual option from her game. All of them are likely done. Black Souls could possibly pull off a win in Queen, but I don't think there is any pick there that was as good as Grimm was for King. Even with the games having a strong fanbase on the boards, I don't think it can overcome its more niche notoriety to get two whole winners. One was already a big deal.

Compare any /co/ winning series though. What’s the closest choice? I guess Space Ghost who was just brought up and and maybe male Monarch. But both have pretty much already been given that up. No one else viable from Bravo or He-Man, Kuzco may have a vague shot but hasn’t done too well since Keonk’s win and Jerry certainly isn’t a favored character. Ms. /co/‘s obsessively spited enough and pretty much zero chance you’ll see a repeat there.

Anyone else notice that people have a weird double standard towards rigging?

I’ve noticed depending on the tournament the response here to rigging ranges from “REEEEEEEEEEE ITS RUINED” to “who cares everyone rigs” depending on who the rigged character was.

Whether you like or dislike a character you should either take all rigging accusations with weight to them seriously or ignore all of them. None of this “X was rigged because of some nebulous factor we can’t actually quantify, but Y’s dedicated discord doesn’t matter because everyone rigs anyways.”

I get that everything in these tournaments is subjective and to be taken with massive grains of salt, but at least try to apply some sort of consistency instead of targeting certain characters/ignoring certain rigs because of personal feelings towards them.

I don’t even think spinel was rigged, it’s impossible to how many votes came from the outside vs how many used /co/ anyways.

I know saying this is taboo because you’re supposed to hate spinel, but I’m pretty sure it was just FoTM and then voters remorse the next year.

The only ones I’m actually skeptical of are the tourneys that we never actually saw the sheets for.

Spinel was "rigged" by virtue of proven off-site brigading, which is not considered a legitimate tactic either way. The possibility that some of those Peruvians could have had 2 or 3 extra accounts they'd use to vote a few extra times is just the cherry on top.

A character not qualifying for no other reason than not being popular enough is not an injustice at all. A popular character being punished for being one of many popular characters in their series is. One is based on the merits of the character itself. The other is tourney metagaming that doesn't reflect the prevailing sentiment toward the character itself, just its place in the overall tournament narrative.

No, not the same logic. We're talking specifically about dog #2 from a series being locked out of winning long after the top dog is out of the running and they're no longer directly competing, or even the top male of a series being locked out due to its top female's past victory. The difference is a character being artificially hobbled with meta vs a character not being hindered in any way and simply not doing well.

It's like a country winning gold in an Olympic event and the rest of the athletes from that country getting shot in the leg to make things "less boring". And then you say that if they had merit, they could win with blown out kneecaps. Ultimately it is what it is and I don't expect it to change, but I don't think it's an injustice when characters who have no meta obstacles, maybe even have meta advantages, still fall short, in contrast to characters, popular or otherwise, being punished by meta. It's simply not the same.

Clearly the real top dog who merits winning would never end up in a situation like this, because they're the first character from the series to win. And anyone who comes second just doesn't have enough merit. Same situation as "whiny underdog campooners". No injustice, just "whiny mid seed campooners".

There might be some /v/ cross contamination, and vice versa, but the primary audience is existing /co/ users. That seems more legit to me than canvassing unrelated boards that have no obvious interest in the board topic, unless it's just mentioning the competition exists without rallying for any particular characters. I’ll never understand why Johnny never gets shit for going up against an admitted host rig in the finals. At that point he was guaranteed to win just based on the fact that the majority wasn’t going to vote for a character the host admitted to rigging. Who the fuck knows who would have come out on top on of other side of the bracket to face him if cap wasn’t rigged.

Is it just nostalgia? Because there’s a ton of ambiguity there that no one ever seems to comment on when talking about winners.

Johnny, Kronk, Jenny, Raven/Frankie if it weren't for Spinel rigging, and Tom and Betty until the last round were all "silent" winners. Being highly vocal as a prerequisite to win is a result of accumulating meta as the years went on, when "boring" recurring powerhouses became a thing.

Particularly in the big tournaments, vocality is in a feedback loop with excitement. The more excited people are about a character, the more vocal they tend to be, and the more vocal they tend to be, the more other people get excited. It's not that they have to be vocal, it just happens. Plenty of people do try to jumpstart excitement for a character with very little through a lot of vocality, but I think that's the least effective on /co/, particularly Ms. You're better off with a spite campaign there.

What's the "expected" amount now? General OC output varies from tournament to tournament: you aren't going to see the /co/ tournaments reach the same numbers of fanart as /v/ does, and the latter are the ones where you see winners regularly get around 100+ pieces per winning year. The exception to this in /co/ was Fang with her two 2020 and 2022 runs combined having around 200-something OC images.

No, but he was campaigned by like 2-3 people, one of whom was the Gmod anon from here and another was just posting Skeletor fact memes. His campaign in 2023 was far from the most active and you know it. Skeletor very clearly didn't win because of his campaigning, he won on general reception. I think as the tournaments go on, we're gonna get more winners like this that won based on general popularity and their past accolades from the previous years, rather than the amount of stuff they did in their winning year.

I don't know why this is such a high point of contention for you, but generally speaking, it's to be expected that the bulk of a campaign's effort will be concentrated at the finals themselves (at least assuming there's a pressing interest in having the character in question actually win).
Furthermore, your claim doesn't even really apply: 17 of the images tagged as Kronk from 2019 are celebratory or from the final round; Betty has 21 of the 48 from 2021.
Only Tom and Zorak have at least half of their galleries being occupied with finals and post-finals art.

Because it's about a character having presence in the tournament. You can't say they were really vocal if they were quiet the whole time then came alive in the final round.
And your counting is straight up incorrect. The majority of art in the booru for them is post semifinal. In Betty's case most of the (likely made during) pre-finals art seems to be character collections and making E8. It's hardly disputable that she was not a real presence in the tourney or any beforehand. She was widely regarded as the slip-in winner and compromise over worse characters at the end. Not anything that was hyped and talked about beforehand.
I'm not calling these characters literally silent, but they are "silent" by the standards of a "vocal" winner today. Also Zorak kind of shows why going off draw art alone is not a good measure, as he's certainly regarded as a thread active favorite but mostly for RP.

>You can't say they were really vocal if they were quiet the whole time then came alive in the final round.
The point is that showing they at the very least had art made in support of them previous to the final rounds themselves prove they weren't "silent" by any measure. Sure, perhaps if you want to go for an hypothetical judgement under current standards they could have been regarded as silent, but is that a fair comparison to make at all when it would have applied to other contestants at the time indistinctly? Most of those winners listed still ended up being among the highest amount of OC of their respective years.
And no, Skeletor absolutely wasn't "silent" either even if pretending to go by these standards.

It's a different situation from Venture Bros where timing played a crucial part in deciding which rep would win.
I still vote for the character and having the actual Space Ghost win instead of Zorak wouldn't have made a difference to me since I like both characters, but I don't think what ended up happening was regrettable.

It's been said plenty already, but it is a shame in hindsight that neither Toph or Raven got to finally get retired last year. The campaigns for the other two were very enjoyable during the tournament before the NSA shit came out, but I do think anons got swept up in the short-term hype around them. Would have been nice for the tournament to get a more expected winner after all the chaotic years prior, and the worst part is that for some Wuya was close to that before she got tainted with the reception of being NSA's main.

It's hard to say Wuya was ACTUALLY rigged in the sense we basically KNOW Spinel was. It's not unbelievable thread perception at the time is what got her the win. It's possible NSA did some 'justified' fuckery in semi's, seeing as the other hosts were pretty passive and deferential about her.
As for Raven, Fang beat Raven probably legit. Raven very likely would've lost to Toph. She's been too silent and seen as a boring majooner pick. Tophfags are the one's that should be really disappointed.

Proving internal rigging is also just far harder than proving external rigging. NSA had full control over the data stream and didn't give us much compared to most years.

On the one hand, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
On the other hand, the burning papers/erased tape doctrine says if you've got nothing to hide, why the action to destroy evidence.

It's one of a very short list of non-forced alliances.

People have been complaining /co/ sucks at alliances compared to /v/ and Plunderers is the only big exception. Well here ya go.

Top 3 Qualifier OC in 2022 was Susie, Cheesecake, and Crust. Top 3 Qualifier OC in 2023 was Cheesecake, Crust, and Susie. Top 3 both times(just different order) and all 3 just so happen to be teen girls.

That's extremely organic and there was already some light alliance building last year when the vocal Susie and Cheesecake anons officially endorsed Tiff Crust and she went on to have her best year ever.

With Plunderers seemingly dead we need something.

Yeah, his game got actual love on the board when it actually came out and Garland's supporters spent a lot of his campaign giving serious reasons to like the character. Antidronefags are also autistic and annoy them in response. I do agree with a few things they say, like how they need to stop making the tournament threads about themselves after they lose, but otherwise they’re also annoying spammers.

Shirley is the epitome of SHIT and FINISHED... though after The Fall of NSA I think she at least has a chance of qualifying if not making it past round 2 at most, which is more than I could say for her before this year
Chel continues to be Chel, kind of like Toph/Raven she'll have people feeling she was robbed in 2022, I think she could be really big this year if the rumors of her getting a campaign are true
I see Nicole making it to round 3 or so, I don't think the rigging allegations will weigh her down seeing as those were largely discredited even from NSA when he backtracked like a bitch
I think Brisby could actually do even better this year than last assuming she doesn't immediately run into Chel or something round 1
Tyr'ahnee is winner material
Nani was kind of a niche candidate in that year but if her waifufags continue supporting her I say she can make it a few rounds, though admittedly I have other Disney waifus I want to see do well more
I think ENA has a good chance to not only make it back to E8 but maybe even make it further, though hilariously Dream BBQ STILL hasn't come out so I'm not sure how that'll affect her chances if at all

Chel and Raven are the two most robbed characters in the tourney.

Chel was robbed of a single definitely win. Raven was robbed of two probably wins. (Toph was favoured to win against her the second time, but she was favoured to beat Frankie in 19 so combined it adds up to at least one win)
No.145499

>>145498
Also, while I’m sure she’d been screwed over earlier, I think she was one of the furry rigging victims NSA screwed in 2022 as a test drive, Azula and Shego seemingly never would have won even without rigging. They just left too early to say (albeit 2022 was a strong year for both so if it was gonna happen it was then). Raven should have been in the finals twice one of which she would have won, Toph was the favoured winner last time, and Frankie should have been in the finals in 2019 and would have gone further in 2022 without rigging).

Really Raven, Toph, and Frankie all would have won by now if the Tournaments were clean. Or at least two of them would have. (If Frankie doesn’t win in 2019 her best shot is either avoiding the spite vote in 2021 or not getting rigged in 2022). Azula and Shego have probably been screwed over too(spite voting in 2021 and rigging in 2022), but never quite to the same jaws of victory degree.

So if you wanna undo robbed girls, you’ll want to win Raven, Chel, and Toph. Maybe Frankie too albeit that one is debatable

All this is irreconcilable which is alrgely the reason ms. /co/ is jsut consdiered to be shit. And you're never gonna convince people to vote in silent rep. characters like Raven or Chel along those lines. They'll just have to win with vocal support at a future date, unlikely though.

Chel and Tyr are the established heavy hitters, it's very likely they will reach the same heights again and even go further beyond, but might lose earlier than expected if not carried with the proper support. Chel is in a more delicate standing due to previous accusations of silence, but she somewhat counters this with being generally stronger + feelings that she was robbed.

Brisby and ENA are harder to predict by comparison. Both have dedicated support and by this point might be even more notorious than the other two as "tourney characters" due to this factor. Conversely, they could choke at the beginning if put against a really tough opponent right off the bat. The wild cards, essentially; either they have an unlucky early exit or make top 4.

Nani and Nicole are expected to return to being middle players. Mayyyybe Nani could make a second elite eight appearance but I don't bet on it.
Shirley is done. She will qualify and lose either round 1 or 2.

>Shirley
Thanks to being the most controversial part of the whole rigging drama, she's definitely going to job out of spite even before round 1 starts, or at the very least in that round. Sorry, but I can't really see her get anywhere else because of that.
>Chel
Has huge winning potential considering she's been doing extremely well since the very beginning and how she managed to reach up to the semifinals for the first time in 2022. Unless she gets a solid campaign, I can see her getting easy victory or at the very least becomes a runner-up in the finals.
>Nicole
Another one who played a part of the whole rigging drama but unlike Shirley, she might reach far higher but won't reach the E8 and will stop like in round 3 or 4 if lucky. If she gets some campaign, maybe she has some good chance but I highly doubt even good campaign will do well for her.
>Brisby
Yet another one of riggers' personal favorites but she might do a little better than Shirley if she's in a lucky position of the bracket and has lots of campaign like in 2022. I don't think she'll ever reach the E8 this year but I like I said if lucky, I could see her reaching it but will lose at the quarter rounds just like before.
>Tyr'ahnee
Same as Chel; she also has a very good winning potential since she's doing very well since 2020. There's a huge chance she could pull this off this year if she gets any strong campaigning. Either that, or she ends up becoming the Eggman of Ms /co/ for jobbing in the finals twice.
>Nani
In the same position as Nicole; she might reach as far as round 4 but if she gets campaigning, maybe she has a chance to be part of the E8 again. However even with huge hype, I don't think she will ever reach that very far compared to 2022.
>ENA
She seems to got alot of hype thanks to the side tournaments and she might could do very well in this year. The only big problem is the whole falseflagging back in 2022 which could hamper her chances to go further. Aside from all of this, I don't really know much how far she will go, but I think it's unlikely she will have a second chance to join the E8 considering unlike /v/, everyone from /co/ seems to hate indie picks for some reason.

Chel, Tyr'ahnee

Of those last two I'm rooting for Tyr'ahnee, but Chel is the smart bet. She's had the consistent raw popularity from the start while Tyr took a few tournaments to warm up, and the constant breaks turned her fiery support cold. Also, Chel just barely dodged the runner-up curse Tyr has due to shenanigans, shenanigans which themselves are an injustice some people might feel motivated to rectify. Chel is most likely to win. Tyr'ahnee second most, but I'm hoping she breaks the curse.

She’ll definitely come back but not enough to claim an elite eight spot like last time, I’d say she could last till either round 2 or 3

>ENA
This is a tough one, either she’ll be a returning elite eight contender OR fall out early on depending on how anon’s will view her, not to mention that her BBQ game still hasn’t come out hilariously enough, at the very least she does have some new animation to keep her afloat to stay around for these tourneys.

Fang has her own merits, but it's hard to deny that part of her hype is being a subversive pick in a waifu contest. Ironically, Ms. /co/ being regarded as a waifu contest helped sell Fang over other more conventional characters from good shows with just as much personality.

Donald's not really a comic character, per say but I don't know if I'd say he's entirely a cartoon character either, I'd say he's actually completely 50/50 when it comes to how much of his character is in cartoons and how much is in comics, which as a Donaldbro is another reason I think he'd make a great winner just because of how well he'd represent both sides of the board
Scrooge I think though you could make a good argument for him being more comic than cartoon, insert Don Rosa "no this is not ducktales" image here. Of the ones you'd listed I would say JJJ is the most true comics rep. My favorite comic character for Ms. /co/ is actually Gwenpool though I recognize she's not popular enough among broader /co/ to make it that far, also her series dropped the ball hard which doesn't help

I think there's enough backing to say every winner from Mr. /co/ is quite concrete, with the only one that could get serious questions being Grievous. Johnny Bravo was so successful that he was a big part of the original host of that tournament breaking down and confirming the Cap rigging.

The point could arguably stick with Ms. /co/, though you could also argue that the tournament has such a wild reception that a weirder Elite Elite Eight for it is only fitting.

Educational show characters are beloved but they don't perform well because there isn't much watchability for someone who didn't grow up on them. Someone can come in 20 years after the 90s CN shows and watch them as an adult if they missed them initially, but shows like Arthur won't have the same appeal to viewers who didn't grow up with them

Fuck it, this is extremely autistic but I’ll confess:

I’ve been pretty vocal against murderdrones, both on here and /co/, and the main reason is that they have a tendency to invade various generals I frequent and be very fucking annoying in the process.

It’s not even just a tournament thing, if they just acted like smug, entitled pricks during tournaments I wouldn’t care that much, it’s like twice a year. But they seem to go everywhere I do, and they bring that same smug, “we are unbeatable” attitude in those places too.

They’ve been on and off posting in the Death Battle general, yeah I’m one of those autists, sometimes making the entire thread revolve around themselves, and are convinced they beat EVERYONE. Just a couple threads ago they were bragging about how they would totally violate Jenny. They have a tactic or maybe just a behavior where they spam the place up, shriek at any sort of counter arguments or disagreements, frequently accusing them of being “le one guy”, then they’ll claim victory.

They’ve been doing it on and off for the past year or so and it’s just fucking annoying. If they just stayed in their threads I wouldn’t give a shit. If they bothered to actually have a discussion that didn’t disregard any and all disagreements as being a single schizo I’d be fine with it. But they have to go everywhere else and take their shitty behaviors and attitudes with them.

Spongetie Anon here, about a month ago during one of the stealth threads on /co/ I asked them about immediately removing and revoking all of NSA's rule changes without vote or discussion and reverting to 2019-2021 rules, locking them there for this season(no discussion on changing anything until next year to prevent another false flag and keep NSA from trying anything).

The response was overwhelmingly for it. I got about a dozen replies and only one was against it(And that one was calling NSA a he and the situation 'fake' so...). In fact three or four people said if they weren't undone they'd be leaving forever and and two or three specifically blamed /tnt/ (well, the Pluschan Larpers, but you know what they meant) and said we were ruining the tournaments and not listening to /co/ because we want to RP and micromanage instead of having a fun popularity contest.

I'll go find the thread since I know people won't believe me, but /co/ is very strongly for resetting the rules without discussion as they weren't brought in fairly or justly(thus they don't deserve fair consideration before ditching, that's just giving NSA leverage and blaming the victims who never wanted it). If the hosts don't reset the rules and undo what NSA did there is going to be significant trouble.
