I remember early in the series's run my theory at one point was that the singularity stuff referred to the technological singularity, the point at which thinking machines become capable of exponential self-improvement without human involvement, and that the Absolute Solver was an AI experiment created by JCJ to try and force that to happen sooner rather than later so they could try to profit off of it, which had then gone all Shodan on them. The difference is that pain is a unique kind of signal that overrides and interferes with other nerve signals in a living creature, which makes it harder to think, focus, and move your body so long as the pain is present, a mechanism to force you to stop using (and thus causing more damage) to injured body parts.
It would make sense that drones do not have this biological reflex sensation, they're tools built to perform tasks which are hazardous. Nope. I LITERALLY mean N is Uzi's MOM. There was a whole fic where basically N wonders what it's like to be a Worker and changes his form to the reverse of what he is. N heads into Outpost 3 and begins a double-life as a purple female Worker. He then meets Khan and the two hit it off. Eventually they have Uzi and N for a reason I can't remember stops living his double life and Khan is left with raising Uzi on his own. Obviously they meet later on and N can't bring himself to tell her that he's her mom.
This theory was fucking batshit in retrospect and I'm so pissed the author deleted the fic off AO3.
