We only see her from the outside, and often when she's around people she feels hostile toward, or in situations that demand a focus on the mission/her survival. And being besties with Lizzy does her no favors. She's also weirdly sentimental, and with someone like N, she could reasonably evolve in the direction seen in Cabin Intervention, like happened canonically with V.
