>>396567 I broke by brain and muscle memory by drawing at night and now I can’t draw anymore. Basically it turned my whole process upside down because when I draw I colour the object whatever colour it is then I shade it. The problem is that at night colour changes, it’s such a big skill gap for me that I have difficulty articulating what exactly I don’t understand. That’s one factor anyway
Another factor is that I’ve gotten too attached to using fucking freeform to draw, its a limiting program that doesn’t allow you to blend colours, the color wheel doesn’t have all the greys or dark colours you need for shading and the eraser is imprecise because a line in freeform is made up of cicles, and the eraser deletes these circles, and it overheats my tablet then it crashes and freezes when you draw too much because it wasn’t meant for drawing but for poorly taking notes.
Anyway that’s just so you understand how funny, I mean terrible freeform is as a drawing program. I like it and I use it because its simple and easy to access when I feel like drawing, plus my style is adapted around it so to speak. More correctly I would say that I developed a style that is uniquely suited to it. This style doesn’t translate well to magma because magma uses pixels and it blurs stuff when you zoom out so you can’t have hard edges and shading.
This brings me to the next point. Because magma uses pixels I feel the need to draw really zoomed in so I can control how everything looks better. I learned how to draw like this from the drawpiles, I developed a style that doesn’t take up much space on the canvas. Although to call it a style would be again not correct I simply used the tools in magma and the program to develop a way of drawing that will fit. Because I draw pixel art I can’t fill up the canvas on my own, I tried/had to do that in a previous drawpile and I couldn’t draw for some time because I had spent myself drawing pixelated drones. I got better though then I drew again.
I also feel anxiety drawing in a drawpile that’s not as full of people as the past ones because I don’t like it when people see my stuff or even for them to remember me.
Its a good thing for the community though, the fact that I can’t draw at the moment. It means I can upload more greens because I’m not spending my time drawing. Overall the amount of good for the community is more if I upload instead of draw. But I don’t like uploading as much, but its necessary for the threads to continue well.
I also want my drawings to look good to me and to be good. I always want to improve or to do something different with every drawing and now that I’ve failed to draw the night; I’m stuck until I do. I’m not comfortable drawing stuff the same and I always try to draw harder and harder stuff. Perfect is the enemy of good they say, and its true. But I know there are definitely higher levels of skill I can aspire to so I feel bad for not constantly grasping for them. Perhaps it would be better to just draw stuff at my curent skill level and to not try to improve constantly. My mistake was not trying to draw something that I didn’t have the skills but to try and draw something that I couldn’t improve myself towards from my current skill level. I bit more that I could chew, hubris, overconfidence is a slow and insidious death, then its sudden and snappy. To draw the night I need a better understanding of light, shading and cast shadows. I don’t even have the knowledge that I need in order to understand the basics of the knowledgeable I need to know to learn how to paint the night. The issue is that its one of the few original-ish ideas I had so I want to draw it despite the fact that I couldn’t. It’s a bit embarrassing I won’t share it unless someone asks me to.
I’ll figure out how to draw stuff again, its not like I’ve lost my ability to create or my creativity because some asshole elven wizard stole them or something. Not like I had creativity to begin with anyway. And when I do the uploads will slow and the anons and myself will despair that the threads are dying because my greens aren’t on the booru and I can’t read up on the last threads greens. I’ll maybe probably not really kinda will but not committing to it because what if I fail because reasons might draw some Molly and Lucy, their hair seems interesting to draw.
>Unon is scared, the tweads are owver! >Unon has no gween, why no gween! >Unon want to rwed gween! >Pwincess Enn said no to mwe!
I fell bad for writing this unnecessary blog post but an anon wanted answers and I want to provide them. Even if its personal stuff that I should be keep out of threads.
Tldr: I can’t paint the night because of a skill issue, I can’t draw In magma because of another different skill issue. Hubris is super bad don’t do it.

>>396623 To be fair this pic would have happened when Marcy isn't much older than Uzi, her first 15-ish years would have been spent doing zero gravity asteroid and comet mining, probably in a nearby system. Probably they'd be completely ignorant of the solver shenanigans except that they were put on triple shifts some years ago and resource quotas all quickly rose and surpassed the operation's actual ability to produce. They were abruptly redirected to Copper 9 to set down and bore out the vertical shafts for Holly's set of polar lab complexes to do dangerous direct study of solver mutations, similar to what the scientists at Cabin Fever were up to. The ship would still be up there somewhere in orbit although I never speculated if it survived all the ejected rock from Cyn and Uzi's confrontation or if it got battered down and crashed somewhere on the surface.
