also; since we're going with more of a general format, what do you guys think about putting together a Rentry (pastebin)? Much of the discussion tends to revolve around OCs which can be a bit alienating for newcomers to the threads and while the dronebooru does have greentexts and stories archived, many of them aren't organized in any way. An organized Rentry with links to OC's and their most prominent stories might make it easier for people to join discussions about them. Also reading a text block is so much more convenient than scrolling around an oversized image

Good thing is it doesn't! JCJ Worker Drones don't have to deal with things like running out of storage like low quality competitiors for example, Drones don't age physically either and if something needs replacament, it's easy enough they can do it themselves.
Technically, as long as the core keeps working/isn't destroyed, drones could run forever. Khan or other pre collapse drones could be as old as the human history of Copper-9

Going with a completely stock one, I would have it do everyday things, cleaning and such, no cooking tho. Maybe send it to buy things or so, but that depends on how safe it'd be for a drone to wander among people. I would never treat it respectless or like a complete object, I already am not all cold with the devices I own now, a drone, even mindless, I would treat not much different from a real person attitudewise. The WD having no personality at all would make it hard to reward it however.
I would absolutely prefer this one, of course I'd like some personalities more than others but as long as it's good-natured it would make things even easier than with a soulless one imo. One shouldn't try forcing anything, but letting things develop overtime with it still fullfilling its duty would lead to a fitting, positive relation. With a personalit-having one you could also give it rewards/let it do things it likes/becomes interested in when it has no duty to fullfill at the moment, mind that a soulless one would always stand around when it has no tasks. Would be abit creepy

I can't explain it all now cause 5:50 am, but all the theorizing we did after 6 (Glitch X really) had some very good potential paths, I didn't come up sith them tho, just remember seeing them here and how good they could have been.
In the end I guess I am subjectively just underwhelmed with how things turned out, the eps 7&8 aren't bad, but everything took such a hard turn in 7, so many things went unadressed and Bori showing up added, that together with the 25&20 minute runtimes was just different from what I was hoping for all along.
Don't take it too serious if ya like these eps, but they just don't feel real to me, 7 is still a weird experience to watch, as if it's not really official. Just my rosetinted nostalgia biased take

Just woke up from a dream where I was playing a game called "Battlefield: 2026". It was basically Battlefield 4 except the map was like 100X the size and had like 10k players in a single map. There was a base for each team on opposite sides of the map that we were supposed to eventually reach and invade.
I enabled spectator mode and flew into the enemy base and it was filled with drones that were being tortured, killed and experimented on. It was some really fucked up stuff. Also I remember hearing Uzi's voice but I never found her.
With this vision into the future I hope you guys are excited for 2026.

I've had maybe two but can't remember the first, the second one I had I remember was that I was supposedly in Outost-3 but in a deeper part of it and I got there via Isekai. Met some drones even Khan and told him I was exploring the older parts of the outpost to see why "deadish" rather than completely dead. Last part I got to I got into a laser-gun fight with some silver infected drones and woke up.

Same here. It's because they're technically just lit areas on a drone's visor floating about without a traditional structure like eyeballs and sockets. I tend to draw the oval eyes on a layer above the lineart, get the size correct-ish then move them about until I get the placement right before merging down.

I want to write a message here now, because there are those sitting here who sincerely love murder drons, and I want to tell you: thank you.

Let me start by saying that I'm sad right now. I'm actually crying at the killer drones ending. I've been with murder drones since day one, as soon as the pilot episode aired, and now, two years and 8 episodes later, the finale of the story I've been following so closely has arrived. I've never reacted like this to any finale of any series before; even the finale of legendary Adventure Time didn't make me feel even a tenth of what I feel now. And I want to say to all of you: thank you. I know that the series was able to appear only thanks to all of you, active viewers. Glitch is not a huge studio, and without your support, this series could have become another abandoned Liam Vickers creation. The circus, unfortunately, brought in more views than the drones, and Glitch will now be entirely focused on it, so the chance of a second season is extremely slim.

Sorry for shitting on the board, I just don’t know where else to express my emotions, and sorry for my English, this language is not my native language. Thanks again guys, I will be here as long as I can, I hope you will create many more great works.

I'd say she would struggle against any actually divine being, Solver is more of an eldritch monster than an actual deity. It can definitely sling around a lot of destructive power. It can't do things like effect time or perform true creation from nothing, and while it's true form does seem to be immutable and indestructible, to have any power over matter it has to reside in a vulnerable host that is still fundamentally constrained by the normal laws of physics within it's setting.

Definitely Raiden, outside of powered flight he's matched or surpassed pretty much every DD physical feat. Not by an overwhelming margin, but he's a much more naturally talented and aggressive fighter. I think it's much of the same reasoning as I used when coming up with Sentinel Drones, it's not that they're invincibly more powerful than a DD, it's that unlike DDs who are basically still the personalities of docile Worker Drones crammed into unfamiliar frames, a Sentinel Drone is purpose built for fighting, and programmed with a high level of competence in that field.

That said, I suppose I could expand on it. The idea that in certain urban centres (canon or fictional) they could be lacking human personnel to fulfil security roles was something on my mind. Given the level of sophistication that a drone's AI possesses, I imagine JCJ could put their manufactured units to work in other roles. With custom batch models for roles outside of countermeasures against DDs and rogue workers.

Hence why I 'cooked' up civil protector drones and riot operations units with bulkier variants. Of course, the local PDs also might have found the idea to be less costly and time consuming to have drones in the force. Though not everyone is happy with the idea, civilian and higher-ups alike.

Basically I just wanted a slightly more gritty cop-show but with something tangentially related to Murder Drones.
Heck, I haven't even described civil protectors yet. Have an outline on a document elsewhere.

I wanted to take elements from the aforementioned Machina Sniper and old French gendarmeries, as well as the police robots from Treasure Planet.
Went something like:
>Machina Sniper-like hat (Smaller and less on the level of Polnareff's hair.)
>Basic skyblue button-up shirt with tie, covered by navy blue gendarm suit blazer. Maybe a few gold accents around the shoulders and cuffs.
>Some white gloves over the hands to cover the lights.
>Lower base is some basic smart office trousers with a black belt and steel buckle. Shoes optional.
Overall I think they'd be taller than basic WDs, on par with DDs maybe, but a way shorter than their ROU counterparts. Their torsos might be thicker too with less narrow waists.

As an add on, I'm torn between the rioters being a fully realised drone or simply having them be a civil protector inside a bulkier armoured shell. Dunnoe.
Optics colour is of course white. Or maybe adaptable according to threat level. Dunnoe.

Very early on in the drone threads she was one of the first human OCs I devised, this was before ep.5 so we weren't sure yet if the DDs were from the company or if they were from the Solver. At first she was a pretty surface level evil scientist lady, deliberately referencing Design and other Liam stories.
I've been rolling her around in my head for the past near-year and over time she's become less of a maniacal villain and more of an amoral, dangerous antagonist for the other characters in my (mostly incomplete and now desperately in need of total revision) AU story.
Picrel is, if I'm not mistaken, the very first time I ever drew her.

One of my abandoned story ideas from my time on /mlp/ had SciTwi act as an "evil" scientist. The idea was that she was autistic and genuinely lacked the social sense and empathy to process morals. The self-insert anon was acting as her Igor and he was unaware that she was experimenting on him to make him better at his role.
Maybe that would fit Holly? A person incapable of understanding it is evil? You could even claim that she is an exploration of the idea of whether a person who doesn't know evil can be evil or not.

I wouldn't say that she doesn't understand the concept of evil, more that she views the world through an utterly cynical pragmatist lens. She would view "good" and "evil" as a pair of convenient categorizations people use to classify their own best interests.
She assumes that everyone else is just as much of a pragmatist as she is, and that any protestations of morality that seem sincere must just be very well crafted facades.
One of the reasons I've been drawing her so much is that I'm trying to psych myself up into doing some writing, it's honestly much harder for me than drawing.

If that is the case then you could try as an exercise to draw Holly in situations that invoke various emotional states such as happiness, sadness, anger and fear to explore her character.
My opinion on morality is that good and evil are ultimately defined by the outcome of one's actions. Every now and then I try to write new kinds of villains with it in mind. To find new paths that lead to a disastrous result.
