I chalk it up to the general pacing problems. Ok, after ten billion years of Hiatus I'm finally starting to work on art requests. The first two I got from friends are already underway but this one was from the thread if my memory serves.

Now it's going to stay bluelined for a while because my plan for these requests is to basically start drawing more than one at a time, for practicing consistency across multiple pieces.

I want to think something went wrong for the Cyn-admin cores in Alice's oven after Uzi swallows the Solver's true essence and integrates it into her own patched code.
I know J exists, and she technically still has Cyn as her admin. But Cyn mentions she allows N's team to retain their personalities in episode 7 so maybe this degree of limited independence means J can operate on her own despite Cyn no longer being in her own form to operate as her boss (integrated into Uzi's patched code, Uzi now acts like a prison to the entity).
Basically:
DDs with personality intact - can function even if Cyn is now imprisoned in Uzi's patched code
DDs with no personality - either they all deactivated because they can't ping back to their source (they were considered a limited version of the Solver/maybe direct pieces of itself so now that Cyn is now integrated into Uzi, the Solver itself is an incompatible version of Mother/source of the DDs) or they're all still there, escaping Sentinels and listening to nightcore, yelling bite me at each other

Imo, this ought to be paced out a little. Uzi trying to reach out to Negev like this should be reserved for a later part. There has to be struggles to get there, breathing room for Negev's own personal characterization, how she interacts with caretakers and the world (if she's ever allowed to move a little within her confinement), her struggles with the internal Solver that finds it easier to mess with her than it is with Uzi (since she's isolated, though Negev keeps it bay just BARELY).
I'm still on the fence whether Beretta should be aware of Negev or not (either direction seems interesting to me). The surprise reveal might be good, if it moves into Beretta trying to get to know Negev better. She might be an angsty rebellious Star Wars nerd failgirl but she's not heartless. Just hormonal. (Maybe her hormonal phase lasted longer than Uzi's for whatever reason lol)

If the core didn't lose so much material that it has to enter the centipede material collection mode, and is able to find a core-less worker drone corpse, well.. the core is permanently tainted imo, I don't think you can Un-Solver it at least within the setting, without the patch software.

What would happen if a DD was hit with the patch USB? My thoughts are:

Since we're on the topic of weaving mutilated flesh with steel I would like to say that Strogg lore is a messy footnote and that I wish I could write a new installment. Strogg lore is basically "Alien warrior race that does hardcore cyborg shit, led by a warlord". Quake 4 expanded it to "They are ruled by a council of warlords even though anyone who has undergone stroggfication has no free will, there is no indication of non-combat aspect of their existence, and they absorb other races, making "Strogg" a term for a faction instead of a race."
I would write the Strogg as a race that fell victim to transhumanism. They augmented themselves to work and fight better, hooked themselves up to a network to coordinate and learn better, and then had themselves usurped by the system. The system then sent out scouts to locate more fleshy races to harvest into itself. Because to it "Strogg" is the machine, not the biological entity. Humanity laying siege to the homeworld is a delightful thing to the Strogg because we are bringing the system a steady supply of meat at it's doorstep, while it is recycling it's dead.
