If you aren’t aware, this month has a total lunar eclipse as well as a blood moon, some adverse reactions are perfectly natural and invariably temporary, pro-Dred'fal sentiment should return to baseline soon.

so I've got this drone I bought dirt cheap off eBay that I use for testing. don't know how but she keeps ending up with mushrooms, like, growing out of her chest and head. at first it was one or two, but every time I remove them and clean her out, more pop back up in their place after a few days. and lately she's started whispering. I can tell it's not just white noise– there are definitely words in there– but it's all shit I can't make out.
this is a blank drone, mind you– no personality software or anything installed. she only talks when I'm doing diagnostics and voice testing– so why the hell is she suddenly doing this?
oh and another thing– they glow in the dark, just a little. kinda pretty, in a freaky way. I still wish I could get rid of them, though.

I have the skeleton of something in my head so far

Jesus. Only seen one once, and I was afraid of it. It was alive, though, so that probably changes things.
I also understand they're not very aggressive toward non-spiders, but still, better to err on the side of caution when dealing with something with the second most painful sting in the world.
