Good afternoon Friends.
I hope you are doing well! I'm doing great.
I was thinking something, we know that Drones can LARP, and they can do it pretty well, they can have personalities and live their life as sentient machines if the situation is correct, but that made me think of something else since they can live their life like that, how hard would it be to teach them to be creative? We know that in special circumstances they can learn to draw and be creative, N, J, and Nori, have drawn something, but they draw "themselves", would it be possible to take a Drone and make it draw something nonexistent? Create music out of nothing, or write a novel that takes the minimal basis of reality?
I have my opinion swinging in the possibility of it being impossible and seeing them doing such amazing stuff that it would be hard to think they can't.
That's all, I hope you answer my Friend. And another question, what are you doing? I hope something fun.

Drones aren't very creative, in my opinion. They're not incapable, but it's harder for them than it is for humanity. Your industrial equipment doesn't need to come up with new ideas, after all.
My headcanon is the reason that society looked almost exactly the same in the years the show takes place in is due to humans turning to drones to handle nearly every aspect of life, meaning very little innovation over the centuries.

Now, taking physical labor out of the equation with drones being cheap and not needing to be paid, you'd see a lot of unemployment. Not overnight, obviously, but very quickly.
I'd imagine you'd either see the rise of bullshit jobs to keep the populace above the rebellion threshold, or the implementation of serious welfare systems. Or shit, maybe wars were started specifically to draft and cull all of the "undesirables", but that seems very unlikely.
I'm leaning towards bullshit jobs on par with the one Stanley's got in The Stanley Parable that paid out corporate scrip.

I've never liked this interpretation, even if it's something Liam said.
The idea of a robot designed to adapt to issues adapting to the lack of humanity by developing personalities makes no sense to me. It's more likely they'd continue their work while also setting up contingencies to make sure drones keep being made to continue meaningless work forever.
It wouldn't be much of a show, obviously, but just go "they had personality subroutines that were buried for more efficient work, and those resurfaced at some point".

I'm doing good, but stressed, tomorrow is first day at a fulltime job, never had it before so I'll make it short. Also probably won't draw till Thursday
LARPing as an artist (we haven't seen it yet I know) would likely just cause a normal drone to try and recreate specific styles and motives, I zhink it would do good given it's abilities, but it would likely (intentionally) be very close to dpecific Vorbildern. In the end a normal drone already has some use of the core AI's capability, but it's very limited and mostly there to provide power, so it would probably be a similiar process to AI images we already have, using data from stuff already made, not understanding or properly creating anything really original all anew. So technically a normaldrone can create pictures not seen before, but they will always aim to have it be part of a LARP or (if tasked to create something by zheir master for example) work close to current AI, strictly reusing known data and styles. Given a normiedrone's limitations they would be unable to have new thoughts and thereby be unable to think of new things, they should never be able to create from nothing (Khan's doors used preexisting knowledge to create and modify, it doesn't compare to art but he's a normiedrone before anyone uses him as a counterpoint/Uzi's railgun is unclear, I guess the tech already existed in some form or she never was fully restricted due to her mother).
A Solverdrone would be something else. A zombiedrone I think should technically be able to create tgings, but in the end it depends on how the core works, ehich we don't know enough about yet to fully know 100%.
But iz's getting long ang late, so I'll say it is possible for ZDs/witches to create and think of new things, since zhe core doesn't work only with programming anymore but uses the singularity, which makes them sentient in the first place, without any restrictions, which makes them no longer really 'robotic/like a program/classical AI', but rather (tho technically completely different) work like a living thing. I am not 100% sure rn tho. This is all rushed, I will maybe elaborate tomorroe

I don't see it as adapting to the lack of humanity, I see it more as adapting by seeing what it worked to stay alive and doing it, and with time seeing the stuff around the outpost, how humanity acted, it went into a feedback loop that ended like this. That is one of the possible problems if a Drone chooses the path of art, they could try to make something, but it could always end in something too similar to what they see or try to do. That is what I thought would happen, they would take a lot of stuff, combine them in a way, and create something with that, not exactly something new, but I still have some hope they could make something new. Yeah, they could technically create something never seen before, but you could probably need to feed him information and how it works, and possibly teach them, which answers one of my questions that they could probably be teachable, but never creating something "new" never having a "breakthrough" in art, I don't know how to say it. Yes, I never thought that a normal drone, without personality developed, would be able to do anything art-related, and even if you ask it to do something, it would be a direct copy, nothing else.
A Drone that is completely Solvered like Cyn was, I don't think it would be able to do much creative-wise. I think a ZombieDrone would have the same capacities as a Drone that has developed a personality (Also, yes, we know too little about how they work, that's why I think these types of questions are fun!), and even if you bring good points Friend, I really think they would have the same capabilities of a drone of outpost-3 for example. I'm not sure either, to be honest, I'm just theorizing heavily. Would be interesting to see what you come up with, Friend.

It's in the continuity of the manor fic (and part of the Solver fucking with them). The idea is that the Solver uses data pulled from the human brains it assimilated to create a hyper-detailed simulation and dump the minds of our drones into human bodies within the simulation while it converts their bodies into DDs. The drones suspect this is what happened, but can't prove it or even directly talk about it, which makes them more paranoid, and amuses the Solver.

The next thing is what lies beyond our current understanding, and every day we learn something that we didn't knew or understood, but if we discover that everyday, but before that we don't know it is, its really hard, sometimes impossible, to simulate that stuff.
Even if there is guarantee for control and no shut off in sight, to be honest I still think reality is better, yes life is sometimes horrible but the bad and the good gives it meaning, if you know everything it's fake for me it kind of defeats the purpose of living. That way of seeing things is too logical, cynical almost, for me is not the way to see it, yes, every feeling, thought, memory, action, are just electrical signals, but for its not the same of creating those signals due the use of a machine to simulate things and really living that moment knowing all of its really real, knowing that every feeling you felt it's real and you want that way.
Having a philosophical talk with lack of sleep is frying my brain.
Also I think you really did a good job, I assume it's "Cyn" and Tessa talking here? Cyn feels on point on how she acted in episode 5, and the comical typical act of a villain is well made, although if it is Tessa, it feels more like J, since Tessa even how she is I don't see her acting like that, but if it is J and not Tess, then its well made Friend.

Harper, thankfully, returned intact. Mostly at least, because a torn off flash sensor, ruined clothes, tons of oil stains, broken tail, and a missing hand aren’t exactly the definition of pristine.

“Do you know what I’ve just seen? I was sent to check on a mining rig that abruptly went dark. But just this mission, I saw a Worker Drone get dragged off and subsumed by a blob of other Drones, fused together like some kinda metallic amoeba with what looked like wires. I saw a Drone repeat the same tasks over and over again even though they were missing 40 percent of their body. I saw veins full of of red hot… Stuff pump their contents into several Drones, transforming them in ways I never thought possible. I saw a Drone begging me not to leave him, yet no matter what I did I couldn’t save him. I saved 20, but 20 more met their ends right in front of me. The plan was always for DDs to clean every world, and if they would somehow get destroyed beyond repair they would become Dolverpedes which are directly controlled by AS itself, still capable enough and eventually able to reconstruct a DD. (Idk why DDs aren't controlled by AS itself, it should be possible as long as it is admin, probably cause it likes em for entertainment)
AS planned or at least considered the DDs being destroyed, even all of it's squads, what it didn't know (cause neither AS posessed Nori/Yeva ever saw her like she later was) was that Alice would be there and shoah the cores, from it's perspective squads seemingly entered CFL and just disappeared, no Solverpede succesfully formed otherwise it should have known. (Technically the DD cores are Solvercontrolled as well, so not sure why it didn't gain info from those, best guess I have is they weren't ready so soon after DD death (J took quite some time) and when they'd have been the heat of the oven probably disabled more than just movement)

We're in a good place right now where since we can't see the end we're basically unfettered in what we make, and people aren't going "it's over, time to leave". I'd hope that wouldn't change when episode 8 hits, but it will.
