Considering what USA did on Venezuela, probably Trump would just declare himself as the emperor of Iran while not doing anything to actually control the country. Iran would get a new supreme leader in like 2 months and everything would stay the same.
However if they take over the country and put an anti-china regime I do think shit would escalate quickly.
