Removal of any thread mentioning the tournaments Anonymous

Is there a reason why jannies remove threads that even slightly mention the tournaments?

It's a whole thing where the mods consider the tournaments to be meta and thus must be banned
At least on /co/ that is

Something something meta therefore off-topic, something something roleplaying.
But I have my own conspiracy theory that this is just the works of one specific jannie/mod and his personal bias againts the tournaments, like with almost every other jannie on /co/.

it has to be, because if you think about it just making a thread and talking about certain aspects of the tournaments isn't really that meta, it's like any other thread on the board

The two last afterparty threads of King /v/ were deleted, but outside of that nothing else.

I don't think that was a mod being malicious though I think they just had enough and didn't think we needed a full 24 hours for an afterparty thread

For what's worth, I can more or less give confirmation that the jannie responsible for getting tournament discussion threads removed is the same one who has been deleting Homestuck threads for years.
These two were deleted around the same time yesterday.

Maybe it's a little bit far-fetched on my part, but an interesting consideration nonetheless.

For what is essentially an anarchic board where everything related to a certain topic can be posted, those rules genuinely confuse me.

to be fair with the channel pic and obscure question I reckon the janny thought it was a low-effort thread and just cleaned it up

Just made another stealth tournament thread on /co/ to see how long it will last at this time.

The jannie is too fucking dumb to actually detect stealth threads. Sadly most other anons are on a similar camp, so these threads still end up getting archived quite early.

Doubt it. I can't recall Channel threads getting deleted, and a similar tournament discussion thread was made a few days prior, just with a picture of Jenny instead.

Seems very redundant since we already have Ms. /co/.

No. Due to Temp starting the tournament right after King /v/ with no warning Bracketanon just never showed up most likely because he never knew the tournament existed.

2010s characters have almost no presence here. It certainly makes no sense to make yet another spin-off tournament when 2000s stuff has proven time and time again to be the dominant force of these contests.

Three out of four Ms. /co/ Elite Eights have two 2010s characters. And no, i am not counting Spinel.

ALMOST no presence. Those are still six characters out of the 28 who are part of the female Elite Eight, not even going to mention the guys' elite has no 2010s representation whatsoever.
And I'm not making a case as to why newer characters should participate (I barely watch modern cartoons), just saying that the idea of a 2000s exclusive tourney is dumb as bricks.
