Well I've seen a couple anons say they want to campaign for Kiryu, and Vergil had some presence in Queen this year, so those two might not be silent this time around. I think the most likely silent majority heavy hitter this year is Heavy, or it'll be somebody nobody expects.

The other four all feel quite significant in various regards, while Recette's own history is far more limited in comparison. I don't have issue with Recette winning myself, but if we're being frank Madotsuki would feel far more in line with the other four girls there. Gut tells me she'd still be deemed the loose link out of them regardless, but that's a whole other can of worms.

I don't think Berdly would get far even IF people actually made him qualify, but I am thinking about how stagnant Under/Delta representation feels in King. I get why people vote them up, but having the main focus be on the secret bosses feels drawn out at this point. Spamton is fair due to his general character and 2021 campaign, but Jevil seems hard to get off the ground while Sans would likely not be taken seriously enough to have a long-lasting run. I hate to say this since I know he has at least one dedicated supporter, but I feel Jevil also has pretty limited potential period. Sans has development throughout his whole debut game and Spamton has way more of an arc in Chapter 2, which is also generally considered superior to Chapter 1.

Wario would be better, not my personal choice, but at least he's not plain like Mario. If any of the BIG, major Mario characters had to win first (which they will, since they're the only ones to ever qualify), I'd say Bowser is the best choice. He's still not my favourite, but he's a good character; he can be either an actual threatening villain at time or just be a funny goofball, just like Eggman.

I can't see Pikachu having any real shot, but the fact that Regigigas is the main expectation from the sereis makes it even less likely. Hex managed to be elevated somewhat this Queen, but in general it's a shame Pokémon feels mostly wasted in these love or hate it. Feel bad for that Team Rocket anon in particular.

Pokémon only does well in Queen because the characters in it are in it just because of porn, male characters do not have that luxury. Pikachu is the mascot, but that makes people vote against him without having many who would vote for him in the first place. Preferably, another basic Pokémon would get in over him (like fucking Bellsprout), because that would be such a weird pick it would be interesting. Still better than Regigigas, though.

I can get that unfortunately. Granted, a lot of “finished” games or series qualify with ease, but with Star Fox I do feel it’s had an especially damning fall. Still hold the fact he’s so vocal at least gives him a chance if he crossed the initial barrier of entry.

Someone was bringing this up around the end of Queen, but he seems outclassed on way too many angles. Want a tough guy with a funny cartoon portrayal? Go with K. Rool. Monkey posting seem fun? Funky is right there and has obvious material to work off. Want a powerhouse protagonist with a plethora of memes? Mario is already exploring that. This is just related characters too, not the whole bracket. DK would have to really bring something special to stick out I feel.

Yeah, said stigma is always going to hurt him. In a different realm his wise-cracking might give him potential, but not sure how he’d channel it here without it coming off as annoying to many. I feel Eggman is leagues ahead, but if anyone else has a shot it’s Shadow or maybe Metal on a lucky year. Even Shadow has his own stigmas behind him.

Yeah, this is the one that felt most jarring out of the nine. I mean, it’s Pikachu. Hell, if /vp/ held a tournament I feel he’d end up similar to Mickey unless Raichu could carry the line. I will say that out of the most popular Pokémon Mewtwo COULD work as a potential pick that has value outside memes, but again if he can’t qualify then it doesn’t really matter.

I’ll be honest: I feel Yoshi is a lot of what people fear out of Mario. I like him in his own content, but I really can’t think of much at all interesting to do with Yoshi without going out-of-character. I feel Yoshi being merged while Wario stays separate would even be reasonable considering the different natures of the games (Donkey Kong isn’t in the equation to merge).
