Checked out of curiosity, and wild to actually see 224 characters pulled from across the franchise.

And the winner is....
Twilight Sparkle, the first runner-up of the tournament, kept on losing until today.
Runner-up was Fluttershy.
Thoughts?

I can't believe Luna and Celestia fought each other twice in the Top 8.

Yeah, as someone who peeked in a few times I'm not surprised by that finals. Despite some fun picks those two stood out like sore thumbs against the rest.

Him, Ghost from True Capitalist Radio, and Eggman have all been nominated over at the male side of the contest.

This makes me wonder again: how good would ponies do in /co/ tourneys with no GR15?
In a scenario GR15 never existed or was gone by 2018 I think we would have had an SU situation the first tourney year and it possibly would've tarnished having the tournament ever again. If ponies were suddenly allowed now though the story would be different. Their power was definitely waning 2015 onward, and by now they're a small fraction of their peak self. 2024 they'd become a massive target and get spited early without enough influence to power through. The year after when the novelty of ponies back on /co/ wears off they'd probably become a solid mainstay and could even reach E8 or a finals some years down the line, but I could never see them getting the big win cause of their notorious legacy and fandom always being a check.
Mr. I have less of an idea. There'd be less spite but there's not any male characters strong enough to be a winner.

Absolutely a spite vote target. Out at Top 64 at best. Heck, maybe they'll just end up like Homestuck and just never even qualify

It was 2018 when the first tourney started.
Show was dying at that point, but if anyone was going to enter the brackets it would have been Derpy, Applejack, or Rainbow Dash. RD especially due to her meme status. But again show was dying at that point, so if anything she would probably make TOP 128 and then lose to someone with 70 or more percent of the votes.

The virgin Raven:
>the original #1 seed, beaten in Round 3 of her first year
>cucked from winning by Peru the next year
>the year she returns she becomes a part of the FARTS psyop and is spitevoted massively
>loses to the FOTM Fang next year
>takes her until 2023 to finally reach Elite 8 again, and she still gets cucked out of winning by Eris
>five losses total, won't even be able to compete next year

The CHADlight Sparkle:
>the runner-up of the very first /mlp/ tournament
>only ever lost three times and two of those losses were to an eventual winner
>has many detractors but still consistently manages to reach at least Round 4
>beat Derpy, the fandom favorite, TWICE, had a rematch against her rival Trixie and WON
>managed to have an actual comeback and win in 2023, becoming the second runner-up to win a tournament ever
>her supporters have sick dance moves

The superior Tara Strong waifu is clear.

Also /mlp/ tournaments don't really count in the discussions since the board is an insular hated cult that has no communication with the rest of the site.

Exactly, so don't trashing /co/ tourney characters. purplesmart probably wouldn't get past round 1.
